Yourou approached Yanjue, claiming that everything she had said and done previously was at Ling Long's behest—part of Ling Long's scheme to "lurk around" Yanjue and launch a surprise attack to aid Yan Qing. She divulged that Ling Long suffered from "multiple personalities" and thus required Doctor Misa to enter Yanjue's mansion with her, necessitating Yourou to stage this elaborate act.

Yanjue expressed surprise at her knowledge, and Yourou responded that it took "a lot of effort to win her trust" and now Ling Long "regards me as her friend." When Yanjue inquired about her betrayal, Yourou, fueled by jealousy over Ling Long's relationship with Yan Qing and her father's fate resting in Yanjue's hands, explained there was no personal gain in assisting Ling Long.

She then outlined her conditions for an alliance: her father, General You, must retain his military authority and status in Western Turk after the imminent coup, and Yanjue must marry her as his legal wife upon inheriting the title. Yanjue, impressed by her ambition, readily agreed. Yourou further advised him to keep Ling Long separated from Doctor Misa to maintain control and requested that Doctor Misa be sent to attend to her injured father.

Ling Long awoke in Yanjue's mansion, disoriented and wondering where Yourou was. Yanjue greeted her, dismissing her confusion as "acting" and claiming she had "wanted to come back." He added that Yourou, out of concern for her recovery, wished for her to recuperate there. Following Yourou's advice, Yanjue prevented Ling Long from seeing Doctor Misa. Instead, he introduced Mr. Ironmask, who "also has general medical skills" and could "help you cure your Multiple Personality Disorder."

Mr. Ironmask's intrusive questions about Ling Long's deepest fears, particularly her hatred for her father, successfully provoked Langyin's emergence. Langyin immediately expressed her disdain for Yanjue. However, Mr. Ironmask warned Yanjue that her appearance might be feigned. Sensing the suspicion, Ling Long, from within, instructed a reluctant Langyin to "pretend to faint," which she did. Yanjue, showing concern, dismissed Mr. Ironmask and had her taken to rest.

Meanwhile, Yan Qing and Xuanyu received news that Ling Long and Yourou had returned to Western Turk and that Yourou was now engaged to Yanjue. Disbelieving Yourou's betrayal, Yan Qing suspected it was part of a larger plan. He and Xuanyu attempted to confront Yourou at her mansion but were ambushed by Yanjue's guards, forcing them to escape.

This was all part of Yourou's scheme; she had anticipated Yan Qing's visit and informed Yanjue, orchestrating the ambush to solidify his trust in her "sincerity." As part of the plan, Yanjue confined Doctor Misa with Yan Yu and the other captives. Recognizing a specially prepared sachet from Ling Long containing potent medicine, Misa administered it to cure them of the mystic tricks of Southern Chu. In Yanjue's mansion, Ling Long pressed Langyin to retrieve the tiger-shaped tally from Yanjue.

Langyin flatly refused, finding him repulsive, but when Ling Long warned that Yan Qing's life was at stake, she reluctantly agreed to make an attempt. Coached by Ling Long, Langyin adopted an uncharacteristically gentle demeanor with Yanjue. During their dinner, however, she was unexpectedly moved when Yanjue confided his childhood dream of being a craftsman, an ambition crushed by his late mother's dying wish for him to inherit the title.

Finding a moment of sincerity in him, Langyin abandoned the plan to drug him and drank with him instead. In his inebriated state, Yanjue pulled out the box containing the tally to boast. But when he drunkenly tried to kiss her, an enraged Langyin violently beat him until guards rushed in. Prompted by Ling Long, Langyin feigned fainting to escape, leaving the mission a failure. Now utterly disgusted, Langyin refused to help further.

With no other option, Ling Long was forced to impersonate Langyin herself. Apologizing for the previous night's "drunken" behavior, she succeeded in getting Yanjue to drink drugged wine, rendering him unconscious. Ling Long then found the key in his waist pocket, unlocked the box, and deftly swapped the genuine tiger-shaped tally for a carefully crafted replica. To cover her tracks, she staged a dramatic scene, waking the household by crying hysterically that her honor had been compromised by Yanjue.

A groggy Yanjue awoke, found the replica tally in his pocket, and, seeing it undisturbed, remained oblivious to the deception. Mr. Ironmask also checked, confirming the tally was there, and suspected nothing. The next day, Ling Long confronted Yanjue, offering to write a letter persuading Yan Qing to surrender in exchange for a guarantee of his life. Tearfully, she claimed her "innocent reputation" had been ruined, leaving her unable to face Yan Qing.

She pledged to relinquish control of her body to Langyin permanently if Yanjue ensured Yan Qing's survival. Yanjue, swayed by her apparent despair, agreed. At the cautious Mr. Ironmask's suggestion, Yourou was assigned to supervise Ling Long and deliver the letter. At Yan Qing's camp, Yourou presented the wooden box. Yan Qing, after examining it, retrieved the "real" tiger-shaped tally from a hidden compartment.

It was revealed that Yourou's "betrayal" and alliance with Yanjue were all part of Ling Long's intricate plan, designed to allow Doctor Misa to cure the captives and to create an opportunity for Ling Long to retrieve the tally. Armed with the true tiger-shaped tally, Yan Qing mobilized his troops to attack Yanjue under the guise of "suppressing rebellion." Ling Long's letter also contained a secret message, instructing him to launch fireworks as a signal the night before the assault.

As the fireworks burst across the sky, Yan Qing understood that beyond a signal, Ling Long desired to witness their beauty. Gazing at the dazzling display, he vowed to remain with Ling Long for life. Later, Yanjue, enraged that Yan Qing could command troops while he possessed "the tiger-shaped tally," sought counsel from Mr. Ironmask. Conceding they had underestimated Yan Qing, Mr. Ironmask advised Yanjue to send a surrender letter as a temporary measure to buy time.
