Just as it was about to fall off a cliff, Xiao Qiao jumped out and landed in Wei Shao’s arms. Wei Shao proudly said he could catch her. Suddenly, Xiao Qiao noticed he was injured. What seemed like a minor wound turned out to be more serious—there was poison on the blade. Wei Shao lost consciousness. After detoxifying Wei Shao, his life was no longer in danger, but he couldn’t wake up.

Xiao Qiao believed the attackers were highly trained and not just ordinary bandits, and this must be related to their trip to Rong County. She suspected Wei Dian was behind it. Wei Liang was furious and wanted to kill Wei Dian, but Xiao Qiao stopped him. Without evidence, it would only drive the enemy to desperation and stir up the people, damaging Wei Shao’s reputation.

Wei Liang, whose heart was full of Xiao Tao, deliberately pretended to be unimpressive so Yuan Wang would dislike him.

Yuan Wang’s daughter was secretly watching through the door crack and accidentally fell to the ground. Wei Qu rushed over to help her up, and at that moment, the two began to develop feelings for each other. Yuan Wang immediately said he would not agree to the marriage but would consent to switching to winter wheat cultivation. Xiao Qiao had expected this and didn’t mind.
