He cupped her face in his hands, causing her to blush. Cheng Hao called Xiao Tong and asked him to monitor the villa and find out its background and security information. While Cheng Hao was taking a shower, Lin Xiaoxiao heard a noise and received a notification about a burst cold water pipe. Fearing something had happened to him, she rushed into the bathroom and was mortified to find him naked.
To ease the awkwardness, Lin Xiaoxiao tried to fix the water heater and ended up hurting her hand. Cheng Hao examined her wound, and they almost kissed. Cheng Hao and Lin Xiaoxiao went grocery shopping, and their feelings for each other deepened. That evening, they chatted on the rooftop, reminiscing about their childhoods. He revealed that he grew up in an orphanage and felt alone. Lin Xiaoxiao comforted him, telling him that those who love him will always be with him. Unable to shake off the mystery surrounding the villa, Cheng Hao broke into it in the middle of the night. Inside, he discovered Xu, his driver, bound and gagged. Xu revealed that he was also from Cheng Hao's world and had been caught in the same accident.
He claimed that he had been kidnapped and had seen another version of himself. He warned Cheng Hao that the two versions of themselves would repel each other and that the only way to survive was to kill his other self. Realizing the truth, Zou Ling confronted Lu Hongjian, who quickly revealed everything.
Zou Ling accused him of not being able to imitate Cheng Hao well enough, which worried Lu Hongjian. He feared that his deception would be exposed and ruin his newfound wealth and success. Frustrated and drunk, Lu Hongjian stumbled into the street and nearly got hit by a car. Lin Xiaoxiao rushed in and saved him. Cheng Hao witnessed the scene from afar, conflicted by Xu's warning.
