The Lion's Secret Episode 33 (Ending) Recap
> The Lion's Secret Recap
Liu Qing and Li Mo managed to escape, but they were now wanted by the police. Once they reached a safe location, Liu Qing questioned Wu Fengyu about Mu Wanqing's presence at the earlier chaotic scene and why the police were pursuing them. Wu Fengyu explained that Mu Wanqing was gravely concerned for Liu Qing's safety and insisted on coming, despite their attempts to stop her. He admitted he was also puzzled by the sudden police warrant.
Liu Qing then turned to Li Mo, who dismissed the police pursuit as normal, believing the authorities wanted them dead to control the narrative. Li Mo assured Liu Qing that "tomorrow will be a different story" once the night was over, despite Liu Qing's frustration at becoming a wanted man. Li Mo received a phone call, after which his mood visibly brightened. Liu Qing inquired about the call, and Li Mo excitedly revealed that Andrew had made a significant blunder.
He explained that Andrew’s earlier move with Bill was merely a distraction. Andrew's true intention was to use the resulting gun battle to divert police attention while he shipped an entire cargo of goods to Africa. Li Mo confessed to tampering with the shipment he had supplied to Andrew, causing the freighter carrying the goods to be bombed and sunk. He gloated that without the goods for his clients, Andrew would be "dead."
Andrew, meanwhile, was enraged upon learning that Li Mo's shipment was the cause of the explosion that destroyed his cargo. His subordinate advised him to leave due to the immense losses and angry clients in Africa and Ireland, but Andrew refused, vowing to find and kill those responsible. Returning to the villa, Liu Qing and Li Mo discovered Li Mo’s subordinate, Old Yang, gravely injured on the floor.
Liu Qing rushed inside, frantically calling for Li Yuting, only to find she was gone. Old Yang, barely conscious, confirmed that she had been kidnapped. At the same time, Lei Shuo and Mu Wanqing, having learned of the incident, decided to seek out Tom. Lei Shuo instructed Mu Wanqing that if they became separated, she should go to Victor’s bar and then contact Tom for support, emphasizing that she must not go alone as Andrew's men were likely watching.
As they got into their car in the parking lot, they were ambushed. Wu Fengyu arrived just in time, and Lei Shuo, giving Wu Fengyu his gun, urged him to take Mu Wanqing and retreat while he stayed behind to cover their escape. Overwhelmed and outnumbered, Lei Shuo was shot twice but managed to eliminate all the attackers before collapsing. Lei Shuo was rushed to the hospital, gravely wounded.
Mu Wanqing, after receiving treatment for a minor injury, anxiously waited for news about Lei Shuo’s condition. Wu Fengyu informed her that Lei Shuo had suffered significant blood loss but his wounds were not in vital areas. He advised against informing "Jundie", to avoid worrying her prematurely. Soon after, Wu Fengyu received word that Liu Qing needed his help.
He reassured a worried Mu Wanqing that he would bring Liu Qing back safely and left her to care for Lei Shuo. Meanwhile, Li Mo was distraught over Li Yuting's abduction. He remembered their past conversations, including his explanations to Li Yuting about why he hadn't returned sooner: he was gravely injured on his last mission and then coerced into revenge by Ma Kulu. He only dared to come back after Liu Qing helped him eliminate Ma Kulu in Bazhen.
He recalled Li Yuting asking him if they could finally live together forever, and his promise to always protect her, a vow he'd made at the orphanage. She had expressed how alone she felt when he was gone and pleaded with him not to leave her again, no matter the danger, a promise Li Mo regretfully acknowledged and affirmed he would uphold.
Andrew contacted Li Mo, demanding that he appear at his dock warehouse at eight the next morning for Li Yuting’s exchange. In preparation, Li Mo instructed Wu Fengyu to covertly install bombs outside Andrew’s warehouse, where a large quantity of his goods were stored, capable of destroying the entire facility upon detonation. The next morning, Liu Qing and Li Mo arrived at the warehouse. Andrew emerged, holding Li Yuting, and threatened to shoot her if Li Mo did not comply.
Andrew, in a foul mood, proposed a deadly game: Liu Qing and Li Mo must fight each other, and the survivor would be allowed to leave with Li Yuting. Li Mo quickly drew his gun, pointing it at Liu Qing. However, he used Morse code with his hand gestures to signal Liu Qing to shoot him, intending to draw Andrew’s attention while he fired at Andrew.
Li Yuting, terrified and distraught, begged them not to fight, reminding Li Mo of his promise to stay with her and wanting both of them to live. Before Liu Qing could react, Li Yuting struggled, causing Andrew’s gun to misfire. Seeing Li Yuting no longer directly held by Andrew, Li Mo immediately shot Andrew. Andrew’s return fire hit Liu Qing, but fortunately, Liu Qing was wearing a bulletproof vest and was unharmed. Andrew was killed.
Li Mo and Li Yuting rushed to Liu Qing, relieved to find him safe. As they prepared to leave with Li Yuting, another group of men entered the warehouse, calling out for Li Mo. Li Mo recognized the voice of Molson, one of Drago's police officers whom he had paid off.
Li Mo informed Liu Qing that Molson was his ally, intended to help him become the most powerful figure in Drago, and even proposed that Liu Qing join him in a "big" venture. Liu Qing was appalled, calling Li Mo crazy and reminding him that they didn't belong there. Li Yuting desperately pleaded with Li Mo to keep his promise and leave with them, to start anew elsewhere.
But Li Mo, blinded by ambition, declared that he would soon own Drago and become one of the most powerful people in the world, believing that without money or power, they would always be hunted. Li Mo stepped out to confront Molson, who immediately shot him. Molson revealed his betrayal, stating that he had wanted Li Mo and accusing him of attempting to seize Andrew's business.
Molson declared his own ambition to control the entire market, asserting that Li Mo’s money could not buy him. He further revealed that Solo had defected to his side, understanding the market better than Li Mo, and coldly told Li Mo to "just die here." A fierce gunfight erupted. Wu Fengyu, who Li Mo had called earlier, suddenly drove into the warehouse to provide cover.
Liu Qing questioned Li Mo's reckless actions, asking if he hadn't implicated enough people, but Li Mo insisted he was there to cover their retreat. Wu Fengyu confirmed that "all 12 time bombs are perfectly located," and Li Mo grimly declared, "No one else can have what I can't have." Severely wounded, Li Mo heroically covered Liu Qing and Li Yuting's escape, urging them to leave him behind, just as he had done in Bazhen.
Li Yuting pleaded with him not to break his promise, reminding him he was not going to leave her alone again. Li Mo, remembering his promise to protect her for a lifetime, made the ultimate sacrifice. After Liu Qing and Li Yuting safely retreated, Li Mo detonated the bombs, perishing with his enemies in a massive explosion. Half a month later, Wu Fengyu woke up in the hospital.
Lei Shuo, now able to walk, visited him, and the two shared a moment, happily eating bananas. Three months after the battle at the Drago warehouse, the underground trading network collapsed, and all truth was finally revealed. The government subsequently withdrew its warrants for Liu Qing and his companions, and their lives returned to peace.
Liu Qing and Mu Wanqing revisited the charity school in Bazhen, spending joyful time with the children, allowing Liu Qing to finally overcome his past shadows and embrace a normal life.
