Li Xiaoyao and Lin Yueru went to the woods behind the mountain to look for Cai Yi but searched everywhere without success. Lin Yueru guessed maybe they were looking in the wrong place. Li Xiaoyao remembered that the Taoist priest from Sanqing Temple had said Cai Yi had a thousand years of cultivation and was extremely good at hiding her power. The two continued searching and walked to a riverside where they saw someone salvaging a drowning person.

Upon closer look, it was Jiu Jian Xian. Lin Yueru advised Li Xiaoyao not to meddle, but Li Xiaoyao replied that the drowning person was exactly the one who could save Liu Jinyuan. Jiu Jian Xian was fast asleep and unresponsive. Li Xiaoyao took down the gourd hanging on Jiu Jian Xian and made the smell of wine spread. Jiu Jian Xian gradually woke up. But upon hearing about saving someone, he wasn't interested.

Seeing someone who loved wine so much, Lin Yueru then said her family had many royal wines in their collection. Jiu Jian Xian immediately became interested and agreed to save the person with Li Xiaoyao. The three of them arrived at the Minister's residence. Jiu Jian Xian began casting spells using his drunk sword technique. Li Xiaoyao and Lin Yueru watched from the side, not daring to make a sound. After a long while, Jiu Jian Xian actually fell asleep.

With no other options, the two had no choice but to go to Liu Jinyuan's bedroom to check on him. They saw Cai Yi transferring internal energy to Liu Jinyuan in the garden. Li Xiaoyao, thinking Cai Yi was draining his life essence, interrupted her with a palm strike. Cai Yi pleaded with them to give her a little time, but the two were resolute.

Cai Yi had no choice but to take Liu Jinyuan to the woods behind the mountain to continue treating him. Li Xiaoyao and Lin Yueru chased after them all the way and indeed found Cai Yi performing her technique. The two wanted to subdue her, so Cai Yi could only fight back. Suddenly, the spider demon Du Niangzi blocked Cai Yi's path. Only then did Li Xiaoyao and Lin Yueru realize that Cai Yi was truly saving Liu Jinyuan.

Liu Jinyuan had indeed been harmed by Du Niangzi. Cai Yi pleaded for an antidote. Du Niangzi told Cai Yi to turn into food and transfer her thousand years of power to herself. Cai Yi actually agreed without hesitation and walked step by step towards Du Niangzi. Li Xiaoyao and Lin Yueru attacked Du Niangzi. The two were no match for her at all. After a few exchanges, they were controlled by Du Niangzi's layers of spider webs.

Du Niangzi transformed into a spider and climbed up the tree trunk to absorb the two's vital energy. Jiu Jian Xian suddenly arrived and subdued the spider demon with just one move. Du Niangzi slowly disappeared and finally turned into the Lei Ling Zhu. Cai Yi requested Jiu Jian Xian to save Liu Jinyuan. Jiu Jian Xian said that to save Liu Jinyuan, Cai Yi would have to transform into a butterfly and save him with her life.

Cai Yi was very excited to hear that there was still a way. She tightly hugged the unconscious Liu Jinyuan for a final farewell. Jiu Jian Xian transferred his power to Lin Yueru, and Lin Yueru completed Cai Yi's act of sacrificing herself to save Liu Jinyuan's life. Liu Jinyuan gradually recovered. Lin Tiannan was preparing to return to Hangzhou, but Lin Yueru did not want to go home.

Having no other options, Lin Tiannan asked Li Xiaoyao to take three of his sword strikes. If he could withstand them, he would agree to Lin Yueru staying. Li Xiaoyao indeed managed to do so. Lin Tiannan saw his daughter's firm attitude and only hoped she wouldn't regret today's decision. After Lin Tiannan returned to Hangzhou, Li Xiaoyao and Lin Yueru prepared to go to Shushan to find Baopu and retrieve the Feng Ling Zhu.

They reluctantly bid farewell to Liu Jinyuan. Seeing the two walking together and then seeing the butterflies fluttering in the garden, Liu Jinyuan felt immense pain. His beloved wife, who he had married, could never return to his side. Li Xiaoyao and Lin Yueru followed Jiu Jian Xian to Shushan. Tai Wu only then realized that Li Xiaoyao was indeed Jiu Jian Xian's disciple. Hearing that they were looking for Baopu, Tai Wu said that Baopu had already left Shushan. Li Xiaoyao didn't believe him and secretly followed Tai Wu, preparing to find Dugu Jian Sheng to argue their case.
