After half of Lin Yueru's face festered, she started spitting up large mouthfuls of blood again. Jinchen Guimu watched from the side, gloating, wanting to personally witness the fate of a woman who suffered the same fate as herself by encountering an unfaithful man. Li Xiaoyao explained that Lin Yueru was just his good friend, but even so, he would find a way to save her. Not all men in the world were unfaithful. The two fought.

Li Xiaoyao snatched a mirror from Jinchen Guimu's hand. It had a photo of two people on it, presumably the so-called unfaithful man. Jinchen Guimu regarded the mirror as very important and repeatedly begged Li Xiaoyao not to break it. Li Xiaoyao used this as a threat, and Jinchen Guimu revealed the detoxification method. The Five Poisons Pearl and the Disconnecting Intestines Grass were mutually enhancing and restraining; both were highly toxic substances.

If someone went to the cave in the back mountain to pick the Disconnecting Intestines Grass, it could save Lin Yueru. However, if the person picking it didn't have the Five Poisons Pearl on them, they would be corroded by the poison within the time it takes an incense stick to burn, causing their internal organs to rot and killing them. Li Xiaoyao didn't have time to think.

He went alone to the cave in the back mountain, picked the brightly colored Disconnecting Intestines Grass, and brought it back to Lin Yueru. As Lin Yueru continuously absorbed the medicinal effect of the Disconnecting Intestines Grass, Li Xiaoyao's poisoning recurred. After Lin Yueru's body recovered, she looked at the pale-faced, unconscious Li Xiaoyao, remembered the detoxification method Jinchen Guimu had mentioned, and transferred the Five Poisons Pearl within her body to Li Xiaoyao.

The waiter reported to the innkeeper Gai Luojiao that a merchant caravan had checked in. Gai Luojiao immediately replied that the caravan was disguised. Seeing a familiar face standing beside Elder Shi, Gai Luojiao ordered someone to inquire about Zhao Ling'er's identity. Elder Shi instructed everyone to proceed cautiously. While it was still early, Tang Yu went ahead to check the surroundings. Elder Shi was very wary. The waiter failed to find out Zhao Ling'er's identity.

Gai Luojiao personally came out and presented a jar of aged wine. The topic also drifted to Zhao Ling'er, claiming that her appearance resembled an old acquaintance. Elder Shi asked Gai Luojiao where she was from. She explained she was from Nanzhao. Both were wary of each other, and neither could get a deeper understanding of the other. After Gai Luojiao left, Elder Shi said she resembled someone he had known before.

To prevent accidents, Elder Shi prepared to set off earlier. Gai Luojiao guessed their plan and set up defenses in advance. In the evening, Elder Shi and Zhao Ling'er gathered in the main hall and were suddenly surrounded by Gai Luojiao's people. Gai Luojiao directly exposed Elder Shi's true purpose and revealed her identity as a former general of the Wuyue Divine Sect. A Nu had heard her master mention Gai Luojiao before and felt a sense of closeness. After understanding each other, Gai Luojiao explained that the Wizard Queen's stone statue was behind the inn, and she had been hiding in the desert for ten years specifically to guard the statue.
