Li Xiaoyao suddenly couldn't find a reason to continue being with Zhao Ling'er. After getting completely drunk, he wandered aimlessly in the street, bumping into passersby without even looking up. A few ruffians were preparing to teach him a lesson when he happened to run into Xiao Huang, who was soliciting business everywhere. Xiao Huang praised Li Xiaoyao for being the great hero who caught the female thief in Yangzhou city.

He mentioned that the female thief would be executed in three days and asked Li Xiaoyao to be sure to be there. Li Xiaoyao suddenly remembered Ji Sanniang had mentioned something about his parents' cause of death, so he hurried to the prison to inquire. Li Xiaoyao knew that Ji Sanniang was captured because of him, and he promised to save her from prison, but he wanted to know the true cause of his parents' death.

Ji Sanniang stated that the prison couldn't hold her at all, so it wasn't Li Xiaoyao's turn to rescue her. She revealed that years ago, Li Xiaoyao's parents went to Nanzhao to steal the Water Spirit Pearl and were heavily surrounded by the Wizard Queen. She used her unique Shadowless Poison to severely injure both of them. This poison caused excruciating pain and damage, so Li Xiaoyao's parents were likely already dead.

Li Xiaoyao felt like he had been struck by lightning, realizing that Zhao Ling'er's mother was actually his sworn enemy. In the evening, Li Xiaoyao didn't return to the inn and found another tavern to get drunk. Zhao Ling'er was still waiting for Li Xiaoyao to set off together. Elder Shi reminded Zhao Ling'er that since Li Xiaoyao already knew the truth, he would definitely not return to her side.

Zhao Ling'er gradually fell into despair and boarded the passenger ship heading to Yunmeng Ze with Elder Shi. The next morning, after Li Xiaoyao sobered up, he suddenly realized that the grievances of the elders were in the past, and Zhao Ling'er had done nothing wrong. Since he had already promised to be with Zhao Ling'er forever, he should let go of everything from the past.

He couldn't help but run towards the inn, only to find that Zhao Ling'er had already left with Elder Shi. Seeing them both return home safely, she was overjoyed and also asked if Lin Yueru and Li Xiaoyao had developed their relationship further after the martial arts competition for marriage. Li Xiaoyao asked Liu Jinyuan to inquire about the location of Yunmeng Ze as soon as possible.
