She reassured Chen Jingran that she would ensure he ate and lived well there, then began to gently massage his neck, asking where else it hurt.
Qin Donghai, observing this, felt a pang of jealousy. Later, as Hua Mingyue demonstrated proper face-washing techniques to Chen Jingran, gently circling from top to bottom and inside out, Qin Donghai interrupted, taking over the task himself with rougher motions, much to Chen Jingran's dismay. Qin Donghai then presented Mr. Niu with a video showing the workshop director admitting that Hua Mingchen had ordered him to sabotage factory machinery and frame Hua Mingyue.
Chen Jingran, eager to impress Hua Mingyue, then showed Mr. Niu a data report on new samples from the First Factory and positive customer feedback following Hua Mingyue's promotion, highlighting the factory's impressive performance. He declared he wouldn't let Hua Mingchen look down on him this time. Qin Donghai followed up with a pollution report, revealing a connection between the truck driver and Liu Lawyer, which could be used to impeach Hua Mingchen at a board meeting.
Chen Jingran added more evidence, touting the First Factory's aseptic research room and presenting a quarterly financial report proving the factory had turned a profit. Convinced, Mr. Niu promised to convene a board meeting and get justice for Hua Mingyue. Qin Donghai's comrades advised him to defeat Chen Jingran and win Hua Mingyue. He then provocatively called out to Hua Mingyue, asking her to come to his room to sleep.
Chen Jingran, furious, rushed out to confront Qin Donghai, but Hua Mingyue appeared, having just showered, and told Qin Donghai to wait for her to dry off. He then accused Hua Mingchen of colluding with the workshop director to damage machinery and using Liu Lawyer to fabricate illegal pollution.
Hua Mingchen, seemingly prepared, had Liu Lawyer take full responsibility, claiming he acted without Hua Mingchen's knowledge. Hua Mingyue exposed this as an act, stating Liu Lawyer would not have dared to act without Hua Mingchen's support. Hua Mingchen admitted his intent to close the First Factory but justified it as part of a "larger commercial layout plan," announcing negotiations for a marriage alliance with YE International Daily Chemical Group to expand into overseas markets.
He then reminded Mr. Niu of his past ambitions for overseas expansion. Swayed by the prospect of gaining control over Flora's "half of its territory" in the overseas market, Mr. Niu abruptly sided with Hua Mingchen, telling Hua Mingyue that these were "family matters" and to wait for her grandfather to awaken if she was so eager for the family assets. Hua Mingyue, feeling betrayed, accused Mr. Niu of being bought off by benefits.
As the argument escalated, Hua Mingchen called security to remove Hua Mingyue, but Qin Donghai rushed in and pulled her away. Meanwhile, Hua Mingyue was left heartbroken and disappointed by Mr. Niu's betrayal, with Qin Donghai silently comforting her. Ye Xue Er, discovering Hua Mingchen's impending marriage alliance with YE, called him repeatedly, but he didn't answer. She confronted him at the company, accusing him of using her as a "secret lover" while pursuing a marriage of convenience. She stated she didn't want to be an "underground lover" and felt he had sacrificed her.
She declared their breakup, vowing to leave Flora and their shared home. Hua Mingchen pleaded with her, claiming his love and offering her anything, but Ye Xue Er rejected his explanations and offerings, asserting that she no longer desired anything he could give. Chen Jingran found Hua Mingyue and attempted to comfort her while pruning plants.
He shared his love for plants, explaining how they provide clear answers unlike people, and used the metaphor of a small flower struggling under a rock to encourage her to "struggle to survive in the cracks." He emphasized that with water, sunlight, and oxygen, even a suppressed flower could bloom beautifully, implying that her current difficulties were merely external factors that wouldn't defeat her. Hua Mingyue understood, realizing she had to take action.
Yao Shengnan then blackmailed Liu Lawyer, who was deep in gambling debts from misappropriating company funds. She coerced Liu Lawyer into confessing all his dealings with Hua Mingchen, including Hua Mingchen instructing him to forge the will. Armed with this evidence, Yao Shengnan confronted Hua Mingchen, playing a recording where he admitted to forging the will. She stated that with their marriage announcement, they were "grasshoppers on the same rope," implying that his downfall would affect her.
Using his own tactics against him, she demanded equal rights, requiring her approval for all his future decisions, especially public announcements. She also warned him to sever all ties with Ye Xue Er. Hua Mingchen, with no choice, agreed. Hua Mingyue met with Ye Xue Er, suggesting that Hua Mingchen was not worth her devotion.
Ye Xue Er, however, accused Hua Mingyue of "taking everything that belonged to him," forcing him into his current desperate state, and trying to use her. Hua Mingyue, insisting she was not trying to use or slander him, played the recording of Yao Shengnan's blackmail, where Hua Mingchen admitted to forging the will and was told to break up with "Yu'er or Xue'er."
Upon hearing this, Ye Xue Er, overcome with anger, accused Hua Mingyue of mocking her and tried to drive off. Hua Mingyue warned her against driving in her agitated state, but Ye Xue Er persisted. The car swerved, ending up precariously close to the edge of a cliff. Ye Xue Er's phone fell into the abyss. Hua Mingyue, using her AI assistant "Little E", desperately called Qin Donghai for help.
