Chen Lang admitted to taking the designs but justified it by explaining that he had noticed Mr Five's strong desire to create her own brand and had previously encouraged Zhang Jiayun to help her with it.
Since it didn't materialize then, he felt it was his place to make up for that missed opportunity. Zhang Jiayun found his reasoning ridiculous, stating she had never seen anyone so self-righteous about stealing others' hard work. Unbeknownst to Chen Lang, Zhang Jiayun had recorded their conversation. She used this recording, along with conclusive evidence of Cloud Live sending imitation products on Singles' Day, to report the company for unfair competition via a phone call.
Consequently, Cloud Live's live streaming account was suspended. Chen Lang quickly gathered his panicked broadcasters, assuring them that despite the unexpected suspension, salaries would continue to be paid. However, Xiao Xiao, Cloud Live's head broadcaster responsible for 40% of their viewership, submitted her resignation.
