The sound of the doorbell startled Xu Duocheng. When she checked the video intercom, she was shocked to see her father, Xu Daqiang. Worried, she quickly told Jiang Nan to hide. Jiang Nan rushed upstairs, but to Xu Duocheng's dismay, her father arrived with luggage, intending to stay with her for some time. Xu Duocheng decided to create an opportunity for Jiang Nan to escape.
She led her father to the living room and put on "Charlie's Angels," claiming it was his favorite movie to keep him occupied. Jiang Nan used this chance to slip out. After a short while, Jiang Nan returned, knocking on the door as if he were a guest. Xu Daqiang was delighted and welcomed him, pulling him to sit down for dinner.
During the meal, Xu Daqiang recounted his persistent courtship of Xu Duocheng's mother, revealing that he was well aware of all the "tactics" Jiang Nan might be attempting. He advised Jiang Nan not to try any tricks on him, stating that nothing would escape his keen eye. After dinner, Xu Daqiang escorted Jiang Nan out, leaving Xu Duocheng concerned about where he would go.
However, seeing his daughter's obvious worry for Jiang Nan, Xu Daqiang was displeased and promptly pulled her back inside. With nowhere else to go, Jiang Nan sought refuge at Bao Rui's place. Meanwhile, Zhu Linfeng also arrived, looking distraught and seeking Bao Rui's counsel. Zhu Linfeng confided that he had been ignoring Keqin for two days as advised, but she still wasn't responding, and he felt like he was "crashing."
Bao Rui, however, calmly suggested that the right moment hadn't yet arrived, believing they would eventually be together when the time was right. Back at Xu Duocheng's place, the new song "Coke Chicken Wings," featuring Xu Duocheng as the MV's female lead, became incredibly popular, quickly climbing to the top three on the new song list. This success thrilled Keqin and Bao Rui, who saw it as Jiang Nan's opportunity to regain his fame.
At the hospital, Zhan Zhilin inquired about Xu Duocheng's regular check-ups. He was furious to learn that she had missed her injection treatment to care for Jiang Nan's ailing mother. Later, Xu Duocheng tried to reassure Jiang Nan, expressing her belief that he would continue to find new inspiration and create even better songs. Noticing his continued somber mood, she promised to find a way to make her father leave soon.
Upon returning to the apartment, they discovered Xu Daqiang had completely cluttered the place, not only curing bacon and sausages but also using Jiang Nan's precious trophy to press pickled vegetables. Xu Duocheng was appalled, but Jiang Nan, surprisingly, supported Xu Daqiang, telling Xu Duocheng that it was fine to let her uncle use it if he liked it and that he would talk to the landlord later.
Soon after, Xu Duocheng received a call from her mother, who revealed that Xu Daqiang had been kicked out of their home for secretly stashing private money. Despite this, Xu Daqiang declared his intention to stay with them indefinitely, much to the exasperation of Xu Duocheng and Jiang Nan. In the middle of the night, Xu Daqiang was abruptly woken up by Xu Duocheng's mother, who had arrived and was pulling his ear.
It turned out Xu Duocheng had called her mother for help. Under her mother's stern gaze, Xu Daqiang had no choice but to return home, finally bringing relief to Xu Duocheng and Jiang Nan. Immediately after, Keqin called Xu Duocheng, informing her that Xu Daqiang had messaged her, instructing her to keep a close watch on Jiang Nan and prevent him from visiting their home.
The next morning, Bao Rui visited Jiang Nan, praising the positive reception of "Coke Chicken Wings" and suggesting another photoshoot to maintain the momentum. Jiang Nan readily agreed but insisted that Xu Duocheng join him, even suggesting they shoot wedding photos. Bao Rui, observing Jiang Nan's eagerness, realized that Jiang Nan had become utterly inseparable from Xu Duocheng. Meanwhile, Xu Duocheng went to work at the piano store.
The manager informed her that a student had transferred to another teacher, possibly due to a small mistake Xu Duocheng had made previously. However, knowing that Xu Duocheng was connected to Zhan Zhilin, the manager remained courteous and encouraged her not to lose heart. Just then, Xu Duocheng received a call from Bao Rui, summoning her to the photoshoot. Back at his office, Zhu Linfeng called his sister, persistently inquiring about Keqin.
His sister admonished him to focus on his work rather than constantly thinking about Keqin, reminding him that she was diligently working. She then playfully referenced a divination Auntie had paid handsomely for, foretelling that he would encounter a fated marriage that would arrive unexpectedly in the dead of night this year, warning that missing it would mean waiting another sixty years.
At the photoshoot, Xu Duocheng initially hesitated when she learned they were taking wedding photos, but Jiang Nan used a challenge to provoke her into accepting. After trying on several beautiful wedding dresses, she finally donned one and cooperated with the shoot. However, Bao Rui felt that the two of them were standing too far apart. He wanted them to act like a truly loving couple, showing more intimacy and sweetness, just like real wedding photos.
