Jiang Nan and Xu Duocheng arrived at a hotel, only to find that due to the peak tourist season, all rooms were booked except for one with a big bed. Initially, Xu Duocheng fantasized about the situation, but Jiang Nan quickly clarified that they needed to shower after being caught in the rain, telling her not to overthink. He then assured her he would sleep on the sofa while she took the bed.
Jiang Nan later discovered that his assistant, Bao Rui, had intentionally arranged the single room setup. He confronted Bao Rui, who was left feeling awkward. Later, Xu Duocheng's mother called her. Seeing that Xu Duocheng was using Jiang Nan's phone, her parents grew worried that they might be sharing a room and urged her to protect herself.
Xu Duocheng, trying to reassure them, fabricated a story about a "big, smelly mouse" in her hotel room to explain why she couldn't switch to another. She promised them she was fine and that Jiang Nan wouldn't "succeed" in anything untoward. After the call, her father comforted her mother, suggesting they trust Xu Duocheng's self-control and focus on their own lives, as long as their daughter was happy.
That night, Xu Duocheng voluntarily tried to sleep on the uncomfortable sofa but became exhausted. Jiang Nan woke her, insisting she take the bed while he slept on the sofa. Xu Duocheng happily moved to the bed, thanking him profusely for being there when she needed him, saying she might have otherwise slept on the street. She quietly expressed her gratitude for his presence in her life, bringing her good fortune and making her "last time" happy.
The next day, during the filming of Jiang Nan's MV, the female lead, Lisa, had to withdraw due to a sudden appendicitis attack, much to Director Liu's frustration. Jiang Nan promised to find a solution, emphasizing the MV's importance to him. Bao Rui then informed Jiang Nan that Gu Jiayi was actively trying to take Lisa's place, even offering to reduce her pay. Jiang Nan, angered by this, suspected Gu Jiayi might have caused Lisa's illness.
He promptly called Bao Rui, stating that if Gu Jiayi were cast, he would terminate their cooperation and personally cover all resulting compensation. He also revealed his chosen female lead was Xu Duocheng, explaining that she was the inspiration for the song and therefore the most suitable person for the role. He offered to forgo his own fee and cover all MV costs if the final product didn't meet expectations. Bao Rui agreed to handle the arrangements.
Meanwhile, Gu Jiayi was heard on the phone, insisting that she must be the one to star in the MV, regardless of the method. Jiang Nan successfully convinced Director Liu to cast Xu Duocheng, introducing her as his girlfriend and highlighting that the song's inspiration came from her. Xu Duocheng, feeling unprepared and nervous, doubted her ability to perform, but Jiang Nan encouraged her to believe in herself, reminding her she was the song's true heroine.
After a makeover, Xu Duocheng appeared, stunning everyone. Several shots were filmed, and the director was highly impressed, noting that their natural chemistry was something that couldn't be faked by professional acting and could only come from real life. Back at home that evening, Xu Duocheng found herself unable to sleep. Jiang Nan, also awake, turned on a star projector to lighten the mood.
He praised her performance in the MV, telling her that even professional actors couldn't have achieved such a genuine portrayal. Xu Duocheng was delighted by the compliment and excitedly asked if she could pursue acting, to which Jiang Nan jokingly dismissed the idea, calling it "overthinking." They continued to chat, with Jiang Nan playfully calling himself her "creditor." Separately, Bao Rui went for a run and received a call about a lost dog.
He frantically searched for Prada, calling it "son." He soon encountered Qin Shan, who was also looking for Prada, revealing the dog was hers. Bao Rui sternly criticized Qin Shan for her irresponsible pet ownership, accusing her of neglecting Prada by leaving it at a pet shop and not providing enough exercise, which he said could lead to depression for a Golden Retriever. Qin Shan retaliated, blaming Bao Rui for walking the dog without a leash and almost losing it.
Their argument escalated, and Bao Rui eventually turned to leave. However, Prada refused to follow Qin Shan, prompting Qin Shan to apologize to Bao Rui in an attempt to coax her dog back. Bao Rui, still annoyed, did not accept the apology. Later, while enjoying a day out with Jiang Nan, Xu Duocheng's fingers unexpectedly became unresponsive, causing her to drop her milk tea cup.
Saddened by this, Jiang Nan immediately bought her another one, unaware that her ailment was the cause of the incident. The two then visited a wishing tree. Jiang Nan made a wish for Xu Duocheng's dreams to come true, which Xu Duocheng playfully admonished him for, saying wishes shouldn't be spoken aloud. Jiang Nan responded by pulling her into a warm embrace, making her happy. Xu Duocheng then attempted to discuss Zhan Zhilin with Jiang Nan, who became visibly agitated.
He told her never to mention Zhan Zhilin again and to stay away from him. The mere mention of Zhan Zhilin caused Jiang Nan to experience stomach pain. Concerned, Xu Duocheng rushed him to the hospital. The doctor diagnosed Jiang Nan with acute gastroenteritis, attributing it to unsanitary food and predicting symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea. Jiang Nan soon experienced both.
Xu Duocheng felt immense guilt for his condition, blaming herself for eating street food, and insisted on staying by his bedside until he fell asleep. Lying there, Jiang Nan increasingly felt that he couldn't live without Xu Duocheng.
Meanwhile, Gu Jiayi, still bitter about the situation, discussed with her assistant that Xu Duocheng, despite her innocent facade, was manipulative and using Jiang Nan for fame, citing a previous "forced kiss" at a press conference and her attempt to "steal" the MV role. Gu Jiayi resolved to expose Xu Duocheng's true nature to Jiang Nan.
