Go Into Your Heart Episode 26 Recap
> Go Into Your Heart Recap
Cao Xihe continued his elaborate attempts to win Xiaolan's affection, performing various acts to impress her. While Eldest Senior Brother Xie Chang'an believed Cao Xihe's dedication should move Xiaolan, she remained unconvinced. Xiaolan explained to Xie Chang'an that Cao Xihe's actions felt like a self-indulgent performance, not genuine feelings, and she perceived him as merely toying with her.
She highlighted that he presented a different persona each time they met, making it difficult for her to believe he was serious about her. Meanwhile, Sheng Jingchu was driving Cheng Liao to a cooking competition. On their way, Yang Xiaoyu's father, accompanied by a group of men, ambushed them. Cheng Liao quickly called Cao Xihe for help.
As Yang Xiaoyu’s father aimed to injure Sheng Jingchu’s arm with a wooden stick, Cheng Liao bravely shielded Sheng Jingchu, taking the blow herself and severely injuring her arm. Just as the situation escalated, Xie Chang'an arrived with the police, apprehending the attackers. Sheng Jingchu was enraged and initially wanted to confront Yang Xiaoyu’s father, but seeing Cheng Liao’s injury, he urged her to go to the hospital immediately while he remained to give a statement to the police.
Upon hearing the news, Cheng Yi rushed to the hospital to see her sister. Heartbroken, she gently reproached Sheng Jingchu for not protecting Cheng Liao. To prevent their father, who was still recovering from his own injury, from worrying and risking a relapse, Cheng Yi and Cheng Liao decided not to tell him. Cheng Yi covered for Cheng Liao by saying she and Sheng Jingchu were too busy with work and dating to visit.
Sheng Jingchu meticulously cared for Cheng Liao, even taking the initiative to learn cooking specifically to prepare meals for her. Despite their injuries, the couple shared tender moments. Sheng Jingchu comforted a frightened Cheng Liao after the attack, promising to stay by her side until she slept and asking her not to put herself in danger for him again, though Cheng Liao playfully defied him.
Cheng Liao then confessed her childhood love for candy and how she would cherish the candies Sheng Jingchu gave her forever. Eventually, Cheng Dad found out about Cheng Liao's injury. He was initially angry, accusing Cheng Liao of imitating his own leg injury by hurting her arm. Sheng Jingchu apologized, expressing his wish that he had been the one injured instead.
Cheng Dad then asked Cheng Liao to leave the room, and in a private conversation, he sternly instructed Sheng Jingchu to take exceptional care of Cheng Liao and to act as her "male babysitter," warning him of severe consequences if he failed. He even demonstrated his "amazing knife work" and gave specific dietary advice for Cheng Liao's recovery, emphasizing that she should do no work at all.
Despite her injured arm, Cheng Liao was determined to participate in the cooking competition. She explained to Sheng Jingchu that the competition was profoundly important to her, likening it to his own Ten-game Match, and sought his continued support. Observing that her left arm lacked flexibility, Sheng Jingchu offered to be her assistant, having already submitted an application, assuring her he would quickly learn the necessary skills from "experts" to prevent her from being overwhelmed during the competition.
Cheng Liao was surprised, remarking on his "no boundaries" approach to helping her, to which Sheng Jingchu declared, "You're my boundary." Meanwhile, Jiang Yuda went to visit Cheng Dad at the hospital. He encountered Cheng Yi there, who reiterated that their relationship was impossible and told him he was wasting his time. She clarified that she had only allowed him to stay at the restaurant so he could have a place to live and seriously learn Go.
Cheng Yi criticized him for not being sincere enough in his pursuit of a master, calling him a child who only spoke of his dreams without action. After this conversation, Jiang Yuda, with newfound resolve, approached Sheng Jingchu and reiterated his earnest desire to become his apprentice, expressing deep admiration for Sheng Jingchu's Go career. Sheng Jingchu, however, was reluctant, stating he didn't feel confident being a good teacher and only did things he was sure of.
Sheng Jingchu later discussed Jiang Yuda’s request with Xie Lao. Xie Lao admonished Sheng Jingchu, reminding him of the importance of passing on the game of Go and urging him to open his heart to teaching. Influenced by Xie Lao’s wisdom, Sheng Jingchu agreed to take Jiang Yuda as his apprentice.
Jiang Yuda was so overcome with emotion that he cried during the tea ceremony, presenting tea to Sheng Jingchu, Grandmaster, Elder Martial Uncle, Younger Martial Uncle, and even Cheng Yi (whom he called "Sister" after struggling with various martial arts titles). Jiang Yuda was also excited to learn he could live in an empty room at the Go hall.
Sheng Jingchu then told Jiang Yuda that for the next few days, Elder Martial Uncle would guide him, as Sheng Jingchu had a very important task to attend to—helping Cheng Liao prepare for her cooking competition. True to his word, Sheng Jingchu sought out Cheng Dad to learn cooking techniques. Cheng Dad was delighted that Sheng Jingchu was willing to learn to cook for Cheng Liao and personally taught him knife skills, starting with raw potatoes.
Separately, Xu Chi informed Cheng Yi that Cheng Liao had signed up for the competition. Cheng Yi was concerned about Cheng Liao competing with an injured arm, advising her to focus on her stable job at Pinecone Video. Cheng Liao, however, emotionally conveyed to her sister that she had spent her life trying to conform to their expectations, from her choice of university major to her career.
She expressed her profound love for cooking and her desire to pursue her own passion, stating that without Sheng Jingchu's encouragement, she would never have dared to embark on this path. Cheng Yi, realizing her own oversight of her sister's true feelings, apologized and pledged her full support for Cheng Liao's participation in the competition.
