Synopsis
In the early 1930s, a mysterious death in a female university student’s dormitory shocks Shanghai. During the investigation, Central Patrol Bureau detective Guan Cen meets Lu Yizhen, a college student passionate about detective novels. Their encounter leads to the uncovering of a seventeen-year-old cold case involving the abduction of a young girl.
Two years later, Lu Yizhen applies to become one of Shanghai’s first female police officers, with Guan Cen as her direct supervisor. Amidst a series of complex cases at the Patrol Bureau, the two join forces to reopen the investigation into the child abduction case, gradually dispelling the shadows and nightmares that have loomed over them.
