Wu Si and Tang Xin were on a boat, secretly photographing each other. When caught, they both claimed they were just taking pictures of the sea. Despite their lies, they exchanged knowing smiles. Later, after returning, Tang Xin found herself thinking about the time spent with Wu Si, so lost in thought that she didn't notice the traffic light had turned green until a car behind her honked.
Shortly after getting engaged, Lan Yangyang excitedly met with Tang Xin to share the news of Zong Qing's proposal. Tang Xin, concerned about the speed of the engagement and the differences between dating and marriage, urged Lan Yangyang to think carefully. However, Lan Yangyang was resolute, eager for a fast-paced relationship leading quickly to marriage. She expressed a strong desire to marry Zong Qing for love and insisted she would not regret it.
Lan Yangyang then asked Tang Xin to be her bridesmaid and help plan a romantic wedding, including preparing a confession video. Tang Xin was surprised by Lan Yangyang's unusual assertiveness and worried about the impulsive decision given their limited relationship experience. Lan Yangyang went home to inform her parents about her plan to marry Zong Qing. Her father, Lan Weiguo, and mother were taken aback by how quickly things had progressed, having not even met Zong Qing yet.

Lan Yangyang insisted she was sure Zong Qing was the right person, citing his character and love for her and his profession, stating she was not afraid with him. Her mother then acknowledged she had grown up and congratulated her.
Later, Lan Weiguo confessed to his wife that he wasn't optimistic about the marriage due to their age and the challenges of being a military wife, worrying if Lan Yangyang, who was pampered, could handle it or if Zong Qing could handle a spoiled wife. His wife countered by pointing out Zong Qing's positive attributes. Meanwhile, Zong Qing's comrades teased him about his upcoming marriage and his efforts to dress up, suspecting he was going to meet Lan Yangyang's family.
Tang Xin called Wu Si, ostensibly to discuss Zong Qing and Lan Yangyang's engagement. Wu Si stated his full support, praising Zong Qing's abilities and character extensively. When pressed for a flaw, Wu Si paused and stated Zong Qing being a frontline soldier was his only one, noting it means he cannot always be with the one he loves. Tang Xin acknowledged this.
Elsewhere, Han Yuhang spoke with a Mr. Han about the man seen with Tang Xin on the fishing boat, identifying him as a soldier named Wu Si. Mr. Han instructed his assistant, Ms. Zhou, to investigate Wu Si and determine if he was related to Wu Tongshu, an undercover police officer. Tang Xin prepared for an interview at the military camp. She called Wu Si to confirm his availability.
During the call, she asked if he could support her during the interview and not leave abruptly as before, which he agreed to. She hesitated, seemingly wanting to ask another question, but ultimately ended the call without doing so. Later, her parents observed her behavior when discussing Wu Si and the upcoming interview. Noticing her shyness and blush, they felt optimistic, believing she might have found someone special.
A special forces assessment was conducted, led by Zong Qing and observed by superiors, including Lan Weiguo. The scenario involved the team landing on H Island, facing heavy artillery, losing communication equipment, and needing to contact the fleet for fire support. Challenges included evading fire and their boat being disabled. Strong electromagnetic interference cut off their radio communication. Zong Qing decided to use flag signals, but the distance was too great for the main ship to see.
He devised a plan for a relay, having a team signal from the beach while another team member went out to sea to receive and relay the message to the distant ship. The team successfully restored communication and transmitted the target coordinates with only minutes remaining, impressing the observers. Lan Weiguo expressed satisfaction with the team's ability to handle unexpected situations in combat. After the assessment, Lan Weiguo returned home and found Lan Yangyang happily looking at her phone.
He affectionately told her to bring Zong Qing over to meet him, signifying his approval for the relationship. Lan Yangyang was overjoyed. Zong Qing, nervous about meeting Lan Yangyang's parents, especially her father whom Yangyang described as strict, prepared for the meeting. He knew asking for her hand after proposing might face difficulties. He arrived at Lan Yangyang's home, where Tang Xin was also present. Lan Yangyang introduced him to her mother and then her father.
To his astonishment, Lan Yangyang's father was his superior officer, Chief Lan Weiguo. Zong Qing stiffened, addressing him formally as "Chief" and reporting his height. Lan Weiguo told him to relax at home, but Zong Qing remained visibly surprised.
