A report reached Rong Le that General Fu Chou had sent Chang Jian and others to track her every move, even investigating a madwoman they encountered earlier on the street. Rong Le was unsurprised, knowing Fu Chou's suspicious nature meant her actions outside the manor would always be observed.
Soon after, another report confirmed that Fu Chou was now frantically searching for the Imperial Jade Seal, overturning the entire palace and extensively searching the manors of royals and important ministers, though all efforts had been futile. The Crown Prince had undertaken a similar search previously, also without success. Recalling the late Emperor's words about Yun Mausoleum, Rong Le suspected the Imperial Jade Seal might be hidden there.
Meanwhile, the Crown Prince, appearing unhinged, brandished a dagger, loudly proclaiming himself the true emperor and Son of Heaven. When a guard approached, he defiantly killed a nearby attendant. Lin Shen then arrived, kicking the Crown Prince to the ground. He mockingly suggested the Crown Prince had lost his mind due to losing his throne and ordered guards to collect insects from the back hill to administer as a remedy.
The Crown Prince immediately objected, revealing he was feigning madness, and threatened to condemn Lin Shen and his family to death. Lin Shen sighed, lamenting the Crown Prince's enduring arrogance. He then revealed his face, reminding the horrified Crown Prince that he was the eunuch who had served the disgraced Empress when she was imprisoned in Senyan Palace.
Lin Shen recounted the humiliations he endured from the Crown Prince during that time, asserting that the Crown Prince's current suffering was his just deserts. He then ordered the Crown Prince to be taken away, vowing to repay all the pain he had suffered. Later that night, Agent Wu silently appeared in Xiao Ke's apothecary, asking if Princess Rong Le had left anything for him. Startled, Xiao Ke cautiously asked if he knew what it was.
When Agent Wu specified a fan, Xiao Ke retrieved an ink jade fan from a hidden compartment in her medicine box. Inside was a note revealing Wuyou's location in Senyan Palace and promising the General's Pass within three days. After Agent Wu read and burned the note, Xiao Ke handed him a bamboo tube containing her specially crafted healing ointment. She explained her trust in him stemmed from Princess Rong Le's trust.
Agent Wu then infiltrated Senyan Palace, finding Wuyou gravely wounded and pierced by bone-piercing hooks. Wuyou's first concern was for Rong Le. As Agent Wu applied the healing ointment, he assured Wuyou that Wuyu was gathering troops and that the retrieve-and-retreat team was ready for his departure. However, he explained that Fu Chou had heavily guarded the palace, and Senyan Palace was filled with martial arts experts.
Without Fu Chou's General's Pass, a direct escape would be too dangerous for Wuyou in his weakened state. Their best chance was to wait three days for Rong Le to secure the pass. Wuyou expressed deep concern for Rong Le risking her safety, but Agent Wu reassured him, stating that Rong Le was no ordinary woman and acted with meticulous planning. He promised to send secret protection for her.
The Empress, seizing an opportunity, found Yali, and the two embraced in tears. Yali tearfully regretted not heeding the Empress's advice to open her heart to Wuyou, lamenting that she had been deceived and used by Fu Chou. The Empress, regarding Yali as a daughter, acknowledged her past insistence for Yali to marry Wuyou was for Yali's own good, but failed to consider Yali's feelings.
Yali expressed deep remorse for her naivety, stating that suffering alongside Wuyou would be better than her current predicament. The Empress then revealed she had arranged for the guards outside the palace to be lured away, urging Yali to escape immediately through the south gate, where her own loyal guards were stationed. Despite Yali's reluctance to leave her, the Empress insisted, saying that Yali was young and had a future, while she herself was tied to the palace.
With a sorrowful farewell, Yali departed. In the palace, Rong Le drank and danced with her sword under the moonlight. Fu Chou, observing her, chose not to intervene, instead taking a seat at a zither to accompany her performance. As Rong Le faltered and nearly collapsed, Fu Chou rushed to support her. Seeing her hand bleeding from her sword dance, he moved to fetch water for her wounds, but Rong Le clutched his arm.
With a pained expression, she questioned his treatment of her, conveying the immense difficulty of trusting someone who had betrayed and exploited her. She confessed that she had almost fallen in love with him, but it was now too late. She declared that she rarely harbored hatred but would bestow that emotion upon him today.
Deeply affected, Fu Chou urgently pleaded for another chance, offering to release Wuyou, even granting him the entire southern border, and vowing never to use or harm her again if she would only stay by his side. Suddenly, Fu Chou clutched his stomach in agony. Rong Le pushed him away, declaring they were now even. She revealed she had secretly applied a harmless and odorless powder to his zither strings, which, upon contact with her blood, became a potent tranquilizer.
As she searched his person for the General's Pass, Rong Le declared her unwavering love for Wuyou alone, adding that Fu Chou's actions had inadvertently shown her who truly cared for her. Meanwhile, in a secluded room, the Crown Prince discovered his father, the Emperor, confined to a wheelchair, unable to speak. Overcome with emotion at finding his father alive, the Crown Prince knelt, sobbing apologies.
He confessed that his past actions were a misguided attempt to gain his father's attention, and lamented that they had both fallen victim to the manipulation of the "low-life," Fu Chou. He then revealed that Fu Chou was the son of the late Empress Fu, implying that his actions were motivated by revenge. Desperate, he offered to exchange his own life for his father's, declaring his life worthless if it could protect his father.
Later, Xiao Sha appeared with Fu Chou's General's Pass, announcing he had orders to transfer Wuyou to the Ministry of Justice prison within two hours. Despite some initial suspicion from the guards who noted his past service to Princess Rong Le, Xiao Sha's confident demeanor and the authenticity of the pass dispelled their doubts. Once the cell door was opened, Xiao Sha and Agent Wu quickly incapacitated the guards and swiftly led the wounded Wuyou away according to their plan.
Soon after, Fu Chou awoke in his chamber. Enraged by Rong Le's betrayal, he violently severed the zither strings with his sword and immediately ordered Chang Jian to enter the palace and kill Zongzheng Wuyou on sight. Wuyou, now in a prison cart, was transported by Xiao Sha and his men towards the south gate. As they approached, Yali, pursued by several guards, frantically ran towards them, pleading for help.
To save her, Wuyou, despite his severe injuries, broke out of the cart, sustaining additional wounds in the process. Witnessing Wuyou's desperate struggle to protect her, Yali's long-held emotional barriers began to soften. As more imperial soldiers converged, experts from The Hidden Ones, led by Agent Wu, arrived just in time, allowing Wuyou and his companions to successfully escape. Fu Chou, arriving moments later on horseback, found only chaos and the remnants of the skirmish.
Wuyou and his group traveled by carriage towards Yun Mausoleum to meet Rong Le. Meanwhile, Rong Le had already entered the mausoleum. Remembering Wuyou retrieving something from a hidden compartment beneath Lady Yun's coffin previously, she searched there and indeed found the Imperial Jade Seal. Kneeling before Lady Yun's coffin, Rong Le vowed to treat Wuyou with unwavering devotion and loyalty for the rest of her life, acknowledging his immense sacrifices for her.
As she exited the mausoleum, Lin Shen appeared, having correctly surmised that the Emperor would have entrusted the seal's location to Rong Le. A fierce fight ensued, and Rong Le, outmatched, quickly lost the seal to him. Just then, an eagle intervened, distracting Lin Shen. Seizing the opportunity, Rong Le snatched back the seal and fled, only to be surrounded by members of the Creed of Vengeance.
Faced with overwhelming odds, she prepared to knock over a burning pillar, willing to destroy the seal and herself rather than let it be used to harm Wuyou. At that critical moment, Wuyou suddenly appeared and rescued her. Lin Shen moved to pursue them, but was intercepted by Agent Wu.
