> Princess Silver Recap

With the land disputes between the Sun and Zheng families escalating, Sun Yali was distressed to learn she might be forced to marry the Zheng family's son. Believing she had no other choice, she was surprised when a servant announced a gift from Zongzheng Wuyou: a pair of beautiful silver bracelets. Meanwhile, Wuyou received news from his brother, Wu Yu, that rebels were advancing on Qingzhou.

Wuyou, having already sent his agent to set up an ambush, revealed his suspicion that Fu Chou was not genuinely trying to suppress the rebels but was secretly orchestrating the uprising for his own benefit. An investigation into the rebels' backgrounds confirmed they were mostly displaced fugitives, easily manipulated. Recognizing their impatience, Wuyou decided to confront them directly. He arrived as a rebel leader was inciting the crowd, blaming the rich for their suffering.

As the rebels pushed civilians forward as human shields, Wuyou stepped out, announcing himself and pledging to provide for them if they laid down their arms, swearing on his life to keep his word. Moved by his sincerity, the refugees disarmed and hailed him as their savior. The subsequent investigation revealed that the Zheng family had conspired with the rebels, hoarding land during the conflict.

Enraged, the Emperor ordered Wuyou to eliminate the Zheng family and seize their estate for the Imperial Court, which greatly enhanced Wuyou’s reputation in Qingzhou. In the capital, Fu Chou received a royal decree and gifts for his supposed role in weakening the rebels. However, he correctly interpreted the Emperor's gifts of Qingzhou specialties as a mockery of his failure to fully pacify the South.

His resentment deepened when an agent reported on Wuyou’s growing influence, his support of the Sun family, and the circulating rumors of a potential marriage to Yali. This combination of perceived insult and personal jealousy fueled Fu Chou's hatred for Wuyou. Later, Wuyou sparred with his senior brother, who praised his improved swordsmanship. Wuyou credited his time on the battlefield, which helped him find some solace and continue his father's work.

His brother, a survivor of the massacre of Sir Qin's household sixteen years prior and the founder of the "Hidden Ones" to aid Wuyou, expressed relief that Wuyou had regained his focus. He had been worried Wuyou had forgotten their master's mission, especially after the incident with General Fu's bride. Wuyou assured him he remained committed to his destiny. Returning to his manor, Wuyou found Yali waiting.

She offered him tea and suggested a game of chess, but he declined, asking for music instead. As she played, Wuyou stared at a white chess piece, his thoughts turbulent before settling into resolve. Sir Sun then proposed using the confiscated Zheng lands to resettle the fugitives. Wuyou agreed, on the condition that the deeds be registered to prevent them from being sold to other powerful families.

When Sir Sun inquired about his authority if Wuyou were recalled to the capital, Wuyou declared he had no intention of returning. Upon hearing this, Yali tried to persuade him to go back, but Wuyou saw through her pretense. He revealed he knew she had only feigned interest in him to avoid marrying into the Zheng family, and that he had given her the bracelets to help her with the charade.

Understanding they both hated being forced into unwanted situations, he listened as Yali knelt and confessed her love for someone else in the capital, pleading for his help to return. Wuyou gently told her that her ability to return depended not on him, but on another person. In the General's Mansion, Fu Chou learned that Wuyou was renovating his residence for a permanent stay and that the Emperor had not mentioned recalling him, which he found odd.

His thoughts were interrupted by fireworks from the Tranquil Garden, where he found Princess Zhao Yun and Ling Yue celebrating with Rong Le. Seeing Rong Le’s rare, genuine smile, Fu Chou’s own mood lifted. Later that evening, he found Zhao Yun and Ling Yue making dumplings in the kitchen and gladly joined them.

Sharing the meal by a warm brazier, Fu Chou felt the warmth of a family for the first time, and even Rong Le felt a sense of peace. Moved by this experience, Fu Chou returned to his study, burned all his correspondence with Western Qi, and declared their alliance over.

He ordered his men to eliminate the Western Qi spies in the city, determined to no longer deceive Rong Le and to protect her from the truth about "The Book of Mountains and Rivers." In the Western Qi palace, Emperor Rong Qi was suffering from a debilitating illness. A hidden guard reported that Rong Le was living happily with Fu Chou, which brought him a moment of relief.

That night, as he slept fitfully, the Empress Dowager appeared at his bedside. After watching him suffer with a complex expression, she reached out and gripped his throat, only to release him moments later. She left a bottle of medicine by his bed before silently departing. During the ancestor worship ceremony, the Emperor caught the Crown Prince sleeping and furiously banished him to the Eastern Palace to reflect on his misdeeds.

Afterward, the Emperor discussed the delayed military campaign against Wei with his uncle, Xuan Ming. Both were concerned by Western Qi’s evasiveness since the marriage alliance. Xuan Ming then revealed that the Hidden Ones had reported secret correspondence between Fu Chou's manor and Western Qi. Alarmed by this news, the Emperor dispatched Xuan Ming to monitor Fu Chou and retrieve the letters. Sometime later, Rong Le visited the Empress, who complimented the rose rouge she brought from Western Qi.

The Empress then offered Rong Le a set of jade cups, suggesting they might ease her homesickness. Rong Le politely declined, stating that as she was now married into Northern Lin, she had severed all ties with her past and had not contacted her family in Western Qi since her wedding.
