Despite being a first-time co-driver for Zhang Chi, Zhendong showed remarkable coordination with him in the first sector of the Master Racing Rally Invitational. Zhang Chi started strongly, handling the bends perfectly and quickly closing the gap on Wei Qianli, placing second at the first timing point.

Following the plan Zhendong had predicted for Wei Qianli's strategy, Zhang Chi continued his excellent performance, drawing level with Wei Qianli at the fourth timing point and then overtaking him to take a 1. 5-second lead with a quarter of the race remaining. However, while leading, Zhendong misread the roadbook, calling out L5 when it should have been R5. This caused Zhang Chi's car to crash into the haystacks, costing them almost 12 seconds and dropping them to sixth place.

After crossing the finish line for the sector, Zhang Chi was furious with Zhendong for the mistake, exclaiming he was useless and should have driven alone. Xiaohe called Zhang Chi, urging him to calm down and reminding him it was Zhendong's first time as a co-driver. Zhang Chi retorted, pointing out the danger of hitting a cliff instead of haystacks. Zhendong apologized, saying he didn't mean to make the mistake.

Despite a teammate suggesting they could still aim for the top three in the next sector, Zhang Chi was adamant about applying to race without a co-driver. Zhendong refused to let him apply, insisting they finish the second sector together and promising they would win, while Zhang Chi accused him of being capricious as the transit sector timing was about to begin.

During the transit section, Zhang Chi faked a problem with the rear wheel and tricked Zhendong into getting out to inspect it, then drove off, stating he didn't want to hear Zhendong's voice anymore. Zhendong quickly realized he still had the crucial time card. Stranded on the road, he tried unsuccessfully to hitchhike. Eventually, Yuandao and Li from the Master Racing Team spotted him and recognized him.

They teased him about losing Zhang Chi but offered him a ride to the start point, demanding he perform a humiliating act like calling them "boss" or shouting "Master Racing is the champion." Zhendong, despite his reluctance, eventually accepted the ride. They arrived at the start line with only thirty seconds left before Zhang Chi would be disqualified for not having the time card.

Zhendong presented the card just in time, and they prepared to start the second sector from sixth place based on their previous result. In the second sector, with Wei Qianli leading, Zhang Chi adopted an aggressive strategy to chase the frontrunners. While initially advising caution, Zhendong soon pushed Zhang Chi to drive harder. Suddenly, a flock of goats appeared on the track, blocking the leading cars, including Wei Qianli, who stopped and got out to clear the path.

As Zhang Chi approached the obstacle, Xiaohe called, warning him about the goats and telling him to slow down due to his known fear of them. However, Zhendong, acting as co-driver, cut off Xiaohe and ordered Zhang Chi to go "full," challenging him directly about whether he feared goats or failure and urging him to conquer his fear.

Driven by the challenge, Zhang Chi floored the throttle and sped through the flock, overtaking the drivers who were still trying to clear the track. Zhang Chi crossed the finish line first, winning the Master Racing Rally Invitational. The team celebrated their unexpected victory, and Zhang Chi gave a speech expressing pride and hoping his teammates would always be passionate.

Meanwhile, Yuandao and Li discussed their role in giving Zhendong a ride, regretting it now that Zhang Chi had won, and agreed to hide their involvement from Wei Qianli. Later, Zhendong was performing motorcycle stunts, including drifting. The performance ended in a crash that tragically injured Zhang Chi's leg. Zhendong, getting up from the ground, expressed distress, claiming he didn't intend to cause the accident and stating he had "regained consciousness" during the stunt.

At the hospital, doctors examined Zhang Chi, confirming a fracture in his left foot and significant damage to his meniscus, requiring immediate transfer to a larger hospital for consultation. The team worked to keep the severity of the injury secret from the media and sponsors, with Xiaohe fielding calls and downplaying the situation. Zhendong, remorseful, apologized to the team and offered to cover all of Zhang Chi's treatment costs, but some teammates still blamed him for the accident.

Back home, Zhendong's mother reacted strongly to the news, linking the accident to past trauma involving his father and racing, punishing him by making him stand on his head and taking away his childhood racing trophies, forbidding anything related to racing in the house. Wei Qianli heard rumors about the seriousness of Zhang Chi's injury and the need for a helicopter transfer, suspecting the injury was more severe than reported.

Later, Sun Yuqiang messaged a teammate, revealing that Lin Zhendong had told his parents about his racing activities, resulting in Sun Yuqiang being grounded and unable to race. This confession led the teammates to connect the dots, recalling Zhendong's prior warnings about Zhang Chi breaking his leg if he participated in the Master race and his actions leading up to becoming co-driver.

They began to suspect that Zhendong had deliberately orchestrated Sun Yuqiang's absence and perhaps even the first race error and Zhang Chi's injury, viewing him as a complex and potentially manipulative figure. In the hospital, Zhang Chi discussed his potential inability to race the next season with a teammate and Ye, acknowledging the seriousness of the meniscus injury and the upcoming surgery. He considered potential replacements and suggested promoting Lin Zhendong as a suitable newcomer for the team.
