She confided that she was hoping for a miracle, and while Yu Zhi offered to help look for a specific Pigeon Blood ruby, she informed him that Si Cheng had already agreed to assist.
Despite this, Yu Zhi made a phone call to procure red rubies, emphasizing the urgency and instructing a person to deliver them without revealing his involvement. Later, a delivery person brought several small rubies to Gao Jie. Gao Jie gratefully accepted them, believing they were from Si Cheng, who had previously agreed to assist. Her team, however, noted the significant size difference from her design's main stone.
An idea was proposed to use the enamel technique to compensate for the size disparity. Just then, Gao Jie's grandpa arrived to support her. After gaining approval to change her work team, her grandpa encouraged her, reminding her that the true value of jewelry lay not in its price, but in the affection put into its creation, and together they would uphold the spirit of craftsmen.
After the allotted time, Gao Jie’s grandpa praised her finished work as the piece he was most pleased with in his decades of jewelry making. Meanwhile, Gao Hui questioned her mother, Wu Xiaoci, about the sudden negative news surrounding Gao Jie, wondering why she was so defensive against her. Wu Xiaoci simply told her not to ask too many questions, asserting that everything she did was for Gao Hui's good and that Gao Jie did not deserve to compete with her. Separately, Gao Jie called Wu Xiaoci, hoping she would serve as a witness regarding Teacher Lin's accident.
Wu Xiaoci readily agreed, acknowledging that the online news was exaggerated and expressing admiration for Gao Jie's potential, promising not to let a talented designer be overshadowed. Yu Zhi approached Gao Jie, asking why she was so angry and always protected herself like a hedgehog. Gao Jie, still fuming, retorted by asking if he would help her with rubies, as he had Gao Hui.
Yu Zhi denied any special relationship with Gao Hui, but Gao Jie declared there was nothing between them either, emphasizing their freedom to make their own choices. Yu Zhi seized the opportunity to propose reforms, suggesting the Inlay Group's audit process be streamlined and no longer require Mu Ziyun's approval. His grandma agreed to let Yu Zhi and Yu Yi try the new system, which Mu Ziyun smilingly accepted. Gao Jie arrived at the venue, attempting to confront Wu Xiaoci, but was stopped by security. Mu Ziyun intervened, pulling Gao Jie aside. Frustrated by Gao Jie's naivety, Mu Ziyun finally revealed the shocking truth: Wu Xiaoci's current husband was Gao Jie's father, and Gao Hui was her paternal half-sister. Gao Jie was stunned, having believed her father had passed away.
She was unable to comprehend how her father could have abandoned her and her mother for Wu Xiaoci, and why he seemed to care only for Gao Hui. Mu Ziyun warned Gao Jie that Wu Xiaoci and her daughter could never be family to her and that their animosity towards her far exceeded her imagination.
Gao Jie was left heartbroken, wishing her father had truly died rather than facing the painful reality of having an absent father who had seemingly betrayed her. Afterward, Gao Jie, filled with doubt, asked Mu Ziyun what kind of person Yu Zhi was. Mu Ziyun described him as unscrupulous in achieving his goals, even going so far as to search for rubies in Southeast Asia to please Gao Hui.
This left Gao Jie clenching her fists, uncertain if Yu Zhi's feelings for her were genuine. Mu Ziyun, who had initially wanted to bring Gao Jie into Rui Hua, decided against it, feeling the situation at Rui Hua was too complex and she didn't want Gao Jie to get embroiled in it. Later, Yu Zhi requested that Mu Ziyun's marketing funds be reallocated to the Inlay Group, to which she generously agreed.
That night, Gao Jie watched an old interview of Wu Xiaoci and Gao Hai, recognizing her father as the man she had met outside her home. Her grandpa brought her milk, and she quickly closed her laptop, unable to hide her curiosity about her father, but denying she knew the truth.
Her grandpa offered comfort, reminding her that despite not having a father, she received no less love and care than others, and there was no need to trouble herself over someone unrelated to her family.
