Gao Jie was surprised to learn that she had been selected to participate in the Annual Ingenuity Designer Contest. Si Cheng confirmed that the company's decision was absolutely fair. He began to suggest they meet that evening, but Gao Jie received an urgent phone call from her friend, Chen Pinzhen, who was in distress.

Chen Pinzhen had lent her ex-boyfriend 50,000 yuan and paid for his rock climbing gym membership, only for him to break up with her and refuse to pay her back. Gao Jie, indignant, assured her friend that she would help her argue for fairness, and they rushed to the climbing gym. At the gym, Gao Jie spotted Chen Pinzhen's ex-boyfriend scaling a wall.

When he ignored their calls, Gao Jie took off her high heels and attempted to climb after him herself. She nearly lost her footing, but Yu Zhi, who was present at the gym, quickly rushed forward and caught her. It was an astonishing reunion for both of them, having not seen each other since their harrowing experience in Thailand. Yu Zhi took Gao Jie's hand and led her away from the commotion.

There was an undeniable chemistry between them, mixed with awkwardness. Yu Zhi tenderly helped Gao Jie put her shoes back on, but she nervously averted her gaze when he reached out to touch her hair. Their moment was interrupted when Yu Zhi received a phone call from Yu Yi, who informed him that Mu Ziyun had closed the old East Street store and workers were already dismantling the counters.

Yu Zhi became frantic and had to leave immediately, urging Gao Jie to wait for him at the gym. He promised he would definitely return. Yu Zhi raced to the East Street store, confronting the workers and accusing them of carrying out Mu Ziyun's orders rather than a legitimate company request to close underperforming stores.

He frantically searched the wreckage for his mother's photo, but the workers claimed they hadn't seen it and suggested he look through the remaining useless items. Meanwhile, the climbing gym closed for the night. Gao Jie's friend, Chen Pinzhen, left after urging Gao Jie to return home, but Gao Jie insisted on waiting for Yu Zhi, despite the uncertainty of his return.

She was confident he would come back for her, just as she knew he would come back for her in the rainforest. As heavy rain began to fall and night descended, Gao Jie sat alone outside the closed gym, growing increasingly tired. Eventually, Yu Zhi returned, soaked to the bone. Gao Jie immediately noticed a fresh injury on his hand, which pained her to see. In the midst of the storm, they embraced tightly, finding comfort in each other's presence.

Yu Zhi was grateful she had waited. Gao Jie, once again, found the courage to kiss him, sharing a passionate moment. Yu Zhi confessed that meeting her seemed to be the only reason he had gone to Southeast Asia, more important than any gemstone. He declared that he would never let her go again. Gao Jie tenderly bandaged Yu Zhi's injured hand.

He then showed her a photo of his mother, lamenting that the place where his mother used to work had been torn down that afternoon, and he felt powerless to stop it. Yu Zhi drove Gao Jie home, dropping her off near the alley where she lived. They exchanged phone numbers, and as Gao Jie walked to her door, they called out their real names to each other across the street—Gao Jie and Yu Zhi—sharing a sweet smile.

Upon returning home, Yu Zhi, still reeling from the powerlessness he felt watching his mother's workplace being dismantled, confronted Mu Ziyun early the next morning, demanding to know why she had closed the East Street store. Mu Ziyun feigned remorse, claiming the store's performance had been poor for years, and the long-time staff, old colleagues of Yu Zhi's mother, were slacking off and resistant to management.

She insisted she had kept the store open for sentimental value as long as possible, but other managers with underperforming stores had caused issues. She tried to portray herself as a stepmother caught between sentiment and corporate responsibility. Yu Zhi, however, unexpectedly called Mu Ziyun 'Auntie,' which pleased Grandma but infuriated Mu Ziyun. Later, Grandma, pleased with Yu Zhi's behavior, offered him an interview opportunity at Rui Hua.

Yu Zhi expressed his desire to develop the inlay department with Yu Yi and presented a joint project. Grandma seemed satisfied but stipulated that Yu Yi must first sign a contract with Wu Xiaoci. Yu Zhi and Yu Yi discussed their plans, acknowledging that dealing with Mu Ziyun would be a significant challenge. Soon after, Yu Zhi received photos of Gao Hui at the climbing gym and decided to go there with Yu Yi.

Gao Hui challenged Yu Zhi to a climbing competition, which he accepted. Meanwhile, at work, Gao Jie found herself thinking of Yu Zhi as she worked on her jewelry designs. Si Cheng came over to give her some pointers. Manager Zhou, witnessing their close interaction, made inappropriate remarks about them, implying an improper relationship. Gao Jie was furious and felt guilty for unknowingly causing trouble for Si Cheng.

Back in her neighborhood, Pan Yue was upset and crying for Gao Jie to tell her stories. Her grandfather, concerned for Pan Yue's health, gently coaxed her to calm down and draw instead. He reflected on Pan Yue's past as a talented designer whose life was tragically altered by a car accident involving "those two people." As expected, Yu Zhi won the climbing competition against Gao Hui.

As per their agreement, Gao Hui had to grant him a wish, which was to collaborate with Rui Hua. Gao Hui honored her word, smiling as she joined Yu Zhi and Yu Yi's team. Gao Hai visited the alley where Pan Yue lived. After her grandfather went inside, Gao Hai knocked on Pan Yue's window, and she joyfully brought him her sketches to color.

He remembered their time in art school, when he would often ask her to add color to his drawings, but noted that Pan Yue's former artistic spark was now gone. Later, Yu Zhi unexpectedly found Manager Zhou harassing Gao Jie. He instinctively stepped forward, placing himself between them to protect Gao Jie. Manager Zhou, remembering his previous encounter with Yu Zhi in Thailand, quickly retreated.

Yu Zhi then led Gao Jie to his private "small world," where he showed her the leaf she had once given him and offered her wine. He held her close, determined not to let her go again. Gao Jie returned home with the leaf, only to find her neighbors arguing with her grandfather. Pan Yue was hiding under a table, sobbing, and it took a long time to comfort her.

It turned out Pan Yue had tried to push a neighbor's child, Ping Ping, out of the way of an oncoming car, but was tragically misunderstood as trying to harm the child. The neighbors, with harsh words, accused Pan Yue of being a menace. This incident forced Gao Jie to confront the realities of her relationship with Yu Zhi, realizing that her family's circumstances could be a significant burden for anyone involved with her.
