Yu Yi brought breakfast to the hotel room where Gao Hui was staying. When Gao Hui opened the door and saw him, she quickly explained that she had too much to drink last night and wanted to pretend that nothing had happened between them. After her explanation, Gao Hui departed, leaving Yu Yi to feel desolate. Feeling apprehensive, Gao Jie met with Mu Ziyun, who was furious.
Mu Ziyun sternly ordered Gao Jie to break up with Yu Zhi and forbade any talk of marriage. Gao Jie affirmed her deep trust and love for Yu Zhi, which further enraged Mu Ziyun. Treating Gao Jie like her own daughter, Mu Ziyun questioned why she would choose Yu Zhi. Mu Ziyun tried to persuade Gao Jie to end the relationship, but Gao Jie remained resolute, insisting she would pursue her feelings even if it meant enduring pain.
Mu Ziyun stormed off, leaving Gao Jie feeling helpless. Later, as Gao Hui walked down the street, she was filled with regret and annoyance but remained determined not to concede defeat to Gao Jie. Wu Xiaoci, worried, finally reached Gao Hui by phone, admitting she had nearly called the police. Gao Hui's irritation at the mention of Yu Yi's name led Wu Xiaoci to believe she was angry with both Yu brothers for deceiving her.
Yu Yi confronted Yu Zhi, complaining that he shouldn't have embarrassed Gao Hui and Wu Xiaoci at the recent event, and questioned who would design the Inlay Group's future collections. Yu Zhi dismissed his concerns, asking him to objectively consider who was more capable: Gao Jie or Gao Hui. Yu Yi accused him of being blinded by emotion, but Yu Zhi retorted that Yu Yi was the one blinded, criticizing Gao Hui's unprofessional conduct since joining the company.
Yu Yi, at a loss for words, could only urge Yu Zhi to speak with Gao Hui again to prevent personal matters from jeopardizing the collaboration with Cillian. Yu Zhi met with Gao Hui and apologized, stating that feelings are beyond control and expressing his hope that they could remain professional partners. Gao Hui, however, asked him for a chance.
It was then she realized that Yu Zhi and Gao Jie had known each other since the rainforest in Southeast Asia. Yu Zhi clearly rejected Gao Hui's romantic advances, hoping she and Gao Jie could coexist peacefully to build their careers. Gao Hui, feeling unjustly treated, remarked that Gao Jie was quite clever to turn her beloved into a brother-in-law. Yu Zhi's confused reaction made Gao Hui realize he was unaware of Gao Jie's true background.
At the sanatorium, Pan Yue expressed her fondness for Yu Zhi, while Gao Jie was absorbed in her concerns about Mu Ziyun and Yu Zhi. Gao Hai arrived, believing Gao Jie's relationship with Yu Zhi was an act of revenge against Gao Hui. He urged her to abandon the idea, but Gao Jie firmly stated that her love for Yu Zhi was unrelated to Gao Hui, asserting that Gao Hui was not significant enough to warrant a lifetime of revenge.
Gao Hai claimed that Gao Hui and Yu Zhi had been dating and labeled Yu Zhi a playboy, thus opposing Gao Jie's relationship. Gao Jie disregarded his comments. Meanwhile, Gao Hui’s persistent disparagement of Gao Jie, suggesting that Gao Jie only pursued Yu Zhi because she knew Gao Hui liked him, gradually planted seeds of doubt in Yu Zhi's mind. Yu Zhi visited Pan Yue, bringing her many snacks.
When Gao Jie returned with water, she noticed Yu Zhi's troubled expression and asked what was wrong. Yu Zhi revealed he had met with Gao Hui and learned about their complicated family history. Gao Jie confessed that she and Gao Hui are half-sisters and admitted that her initial entry into Rui Hua was partly motivated by a desire to compete with Gao Hui.
She explained that once she knew of their familial connection, they were already working together, and over time, she found it increasingly difficult to reveal the truth. Yu Zhi directly asked if her relationship with him was also influenced by Gao Hui. Gao Jie tearfully clarified that her feelings for him were genuine and she simply wanted to be with him, irrespective of Gao Hui.
Yu Zhi ultimately chose to believe Gao Jie, understanding her reasons for withholding the truth, despite his anger. They promised each other that there would be no more secrets between them. Gao Jie was about to say something else, but Pan Yue interrupted her, preventing her from speaking further. Yu Zhi posted an affectionate message about Gao Jie on social media, making Gao Hui furious. She brushed off Gao Hai's attempts to comfort her.
Gao Hai advised Gao Hui not to force the relationship, as he had spoken with Gao Jie and believed her feelings for Yu Zhi were sincere. However, he still considered Yu Zhi a philanderer and unsuitable for anyone. Gao Hui defiantly ran off, vowing to win Yu Zhi back. Elsewhere, Yu Yi passed by the roadside stall where he had previously dined with Gao Hui, recalling her rejection and feeling heartbroken.
During Rui Hua's annual summary meeting, Master Zheng appointed Gao Jie to represent the Custom Order Group, a decision met with a knowing smile shared between Yu Zhi and Gao Jie. The Chairwoman praised the Custom Order Group and announced its retention, also commending Hui Xin's impressive sales figures, which were secretly boosted by Yu Zhi. The Plain Gold Group's performance was noted to be slightly lower than previous years, with Mu Ziyun remaining silent throughout the discussion. After the meeting concluded, the Chairwoman asked Gao Jie to stay behind.
