Gao Hui angrily reprimanded Chen Pinzhen for writing a story promotion for the Custom Order Group instead of the Inlay Group. Yu Zhi quickly stepped in, publicly criticizing Chen Pinzhen before calling her into his office. Once the door was closed, Yu Zhi apologized, acknowledging that he had wronged her. He explained that her enthusiastic promotion of the Custom Order Group, though sincere, made it seem as if Gao Jie was seeking attention, potentially creating enemies.
Chen Pinzhen, frustrated but resolute, told Yu Zhi that what she had said was true. Yu Zhi promised to find her a more suitable position in the future, but Chen Pinzhen refused, stating that she couldn't leave before she had learned anything. Later, Gao Jie was bewildered when Master Zheng and two other masters spoke sarcastically, having received a call from their grandmother about an advertisement on the public account. After checking, Gao Jie realized Chen Pinzhen had written it.
Chen Pinzhen quickly apologized, and Gao Jie asked her to investigate someone. After learning from Chen Pinzhen that the mini-film's client, Mr. Jiang, is a playboy, Gao Jie grows uneasy. She recalls a recent client—Mr. Jiang’s ex-girlfriend—who had brought in an engagement ring for alteration. She realizes this is the same ring featured in the mini-film's story. When she shows a picture of the ring to Yu Zhi, he immediately understands the deception.
The next day, just before the press conference, Yu Zhi tries to cancel the event, arguing that proceeding with a fake story will make Rui Hua a laughingstock. However, Yu Yi insists they must go through with it to avoid immediate public embarrassment. When Gao Hui sides with Yu Yi, Yu Zhi realizes she was already aware of Mr. Jiang's deception.
Meanwhile, Wu Xiaoci discovers text messages revealing that her husband, Gao Hai, has been secretly paying for Pan Yue’s medical care. Enraged, she storms into the nursing home and confronts Pan Yue, leaving her terrified. Confused by the news that the press conference went ahead, Gao Jie questions Yu Zhi's integrity. Her thoughts are interrupted by an urgent call from the nursing home. She finds her mother, Pan Yue, in a state of panic after Wu Xiaoci’s visit.
A nurse informs Gao Jie about Wu Xiaoci's tirade and also reveals that Gao Hai has been regularly visiting and arranging for Pan Yue's treatment. At a family dinner, as Yu Yi boasts to their grandmother about the press conference's success, a news report on Mu Ziyun's phone exposes the fraudulent love story. Furious at the damage to Rui Hua’s reputation, their grandmother declares she will reconsider the Inlay Group’s participation in the annual grand ceremony.
Gao Hui is furious, but Yu Zhi confronts her for her poor judgment, leading to an argument between them while Yu Yi attempts to manage the crisis. At the same time, Gao Hai visits Gao Jie, who angrily blames him for Wu Xiaoci's actions and threatens to move her mother to a new facility where he cannot find her. Just as Gao Hai leaves, a troubled Yu Zhi arrives and embraces Gao Jie from behind.
Sharing their respective burdens, they decide to take a day off together. Gao Jie asks Chen Pinzhen not to mention the ring incident to Yu Zhi, believing he must have had his reasons for letting the event proceed. In the midst of the crisis, Yu Yi arranges for Gao Hui’s design, “King’s Heart,” to be featured by the Victoria Jewelry Pavilion.
The curator, believing Gao Hui and Yu Zhi are a couple, wants to promote the piece with their "love story." Seeing this as a way to generate positive press to counter the recent scandal, Yu Zhi reluctantly agrees to cooperate with Gao Hui for interviews.
