A doctor informed her that Pan Yue's condition was a psychological trauma rather than an organic brain disease, suggesting a possibility of recovery, though a complete cure was rare and treatment would be costly. Mu Ziyun assured the doctor that medical expenses were not an issue and pleaded for Pan Yue's recovery. The doctor emphasized the need for time and the family's sustained cooperation.
Later, Mu Ziyun took Pan Yue for a walk, promising to visit weekly but asking Pan Yue's guardian to keep her visits a secret from Gao Jie. She explained that she didn't want to give Gao Jie false hope given previous failed attempts. Yu Yi inquired about Gao Hui, who had taken sick leave for several days. He then visited her at home, where her mother worried about Gao Hui's health since joining Rui Hua.
Gao Hui, feigning illness, took medicine and asked her mother to leave so she could speak with Yu Yi. Yu Yi expressed concern about her haggard appearance and urged her to recover, stressing her importance to the Inlay Group. Gao Hui lamented that no one had called her while she was resting, making her feel unimportant. Yu Yi reassured her that in his eyes, as the Chief Designer he personally recruited, she was irreplaceable.
He added that the confident Gao Hui he knew wouldn't care about others' opinions. Gao Hui acknowledged that her design was not the problem, as she had confirmed it with her mother. Yu Yi affirmed his trust in her and promised to fight for more time for her project. Gao Hui then asked Yu Yi for his help with something. Soon after Yu Yi left, Gao Hui’s mother appeared, confronting Gao Hui about her feigned illness and her plans.
She pointed out that Yu Yi truly cared for her, but Gao Hui dismissed his concern as merely senior-junior camaraderie, stating her life's goal was not to be the chairman's wife. Her mother, however, insisted that a woman needs a husband who sincerely loves her. At the Yu family home, Yu Zhi confronted Mu Ziyun, accusing her of colluding with Director Zhang to set up a scheme against Rui Hua, a claim he heard from Director Zhang's wife.
He suspected she was behind it. Mu Ziyun, however, retorted that Yu Zhi was slandering his senior and that the contract in question had already been approved by the Chairwoman to resolve his father’s issues. She accused Yu Zhi of blaming others for his own mistakes, bringing up an old incident where he was wrongly accused of losing rubies, which led to him being sent abroad.
Yu Zhi’s father, Yu Guanghua, arrived, defending Mu Ziyun and praising her for resolving his crisis. Yu Zhi, enraged, wished them an everlasting union before leaving. Mu Ziyun then coaxed Yu Guanghua into signing a debt transfer agreement, taking on his debts in exchange for his loyalty. At home, Yu Zhi, sensing Gao Jie's upset mood despite her denial, confided in her about his father's recent troubles and how much he missed his mother.
Gao Jie comforted him, emphasizing that her homemade braised pork, though different from his mother's, was made with good intentions to help him forget unpleasant things. At the Inlay Group’s sample inspection meeting, Yu Yi began the presentation. The Chairwoman expressed her anticipation for the Inlay Group’s product. Yu Yi presented a simpler sample, emphasizing its mass-production potential for the general public. Suddenly, Gao Hui arrived, challenging the sample.
She presented a new sample, crafted by European artisans based on her original design, proving it "could" be produced. She implied that Rui Hua’s craftsmen were either incompetent or had sabotaged her design. Gao Jie defended the factory's professionalism, having observed their work closely. Gao Hui then proposed having her European artisans instruct the factory workers to create a new sample of her original design. The Chairwoman agreed to this re-test.
Yu Zhi later questioned Yu Yi, who claimed he only gave Gao Hui a chance to prove herself. Master Wang, a craftsman, then shockingly reversed his previous stance, stating that Gao Hui's original design "could" be produced. He then blamed Gao Jie, claiming she had initially said the design had issues and presented an easier, revised draft, and also accused her of instigating the workers to protest. Gao Hui feigned understanding for Gao Jie's actions.
The Chairwoman decided that Master Wang would proceed with producing Gao Hui's original design and that Gao Jie's disciplinary action would be discussed later at the office. Mu Ziyun, reflecting on the situation, felt remorse for inadvertently dragging Gao Jie into her schemes against Yu Zhi and Yu Yi, yet reasoned that Gao Jie's early departure from the company might ultimately be beneficial for her. She was determined to accelerate her plans, now that Yu Guanghua was under her control.
Gao Jie was distraught at home, still dwelling on the day's events. Yu Zhi comforted her, assuring her that he knew she was not truly behind the factory issues. He acknowledged her hard work and realized the incident was more about internal power struggles targeting him and Yu Yi within Rui Hua's complicated factions. Gao Jie, however, expressed self-doubt about her design skills, feeling that her previous certainty about the design flaws had been disproven by the European artisans.
She also felt guilty for having kept secrets from Yu Zhi despite his trust. Wu Xiaoci paid a visit to the Chairwoman, subtly suggesting that Gao Jie was becoming deeply involved in company infighting. Following these tumultuous events, the Chairwoman decided to transfer Gao Jie to Rui Hua's Customization Department, a division often regarded as a "retirement" post. Gao Jie sought solace at her grandfather's shop, where Yu Zhi found her.
Calming down, Gao Jie confessed her recent actions, and Yu Zhi expressed gratitude for her honesty. The next day, Gao Jie reported to the Customization Department.
She was greeted by Master Zheng, a relaxed man with a birdcage, who mentioned that the other two masters, Master Lin and Master Cai, were out running errands. Gao Jie was taken aback by the cluttered workshop, questioning if these were indeed the expert craftsmen Yu Zhi had praised. Soon, Master Lin and Master Cai returned to find the workshop surprisingly neat. After Gao Jie introduced herself, a customer arrived, requesting a ring modification.
The three masters immediately began arguing amongst themselves about the unfinished order. Gao Jie stepped in, promising the customer that the modification would be completed within two days. After the customer left, the masters resumed their squabbling. Gao Jie suggested standardizing their workflow, which only provoked more arguments. The masters eventually left for the day, leaving Gao Jie alone to work on documenting the procedures. Separately, the Chairwoman held a meeting to allocate exhibition booths for the annual awards ceremony.
The Plain Gold Group was granted 70% of the booths, leaving the Inlay Group with only 30%. Yu Yi and Yu Zhi could not object to this decision. Yu Zhi then proposed assigning the pre-ceremony marketing activities to the Inlay Group, a suggestion that was approved. The Inlay Group decided to produce a micro-movie for their marketing campaign. Gao Hui thanked Yu Yi for helping her regain control over her design.
Yu Yi casually mentioned he knew she had feigned illness earlier, causing Gao Hui a moment of awkwardness. She retrieved a thank-you gift she had given him but left a thermos, advising him to drink warm water for his stomach and playfully calling him "Uncle," leaving Yu Yi in a daze. As the three masters, who had been listening to opera and playing chess, once again left for the day, Gao Jie remained alone in the workshop. Mu Ziyun visited Gao Jie, stating her original intention was to transfer Gao Jie to the Plain Gold Group, but Yu Zhi had already requested her placement in the Customization Department. Gao Jie reiterated her commitment to establishing herself at Rui Hua through her own abilities.
Mu Ziyun respected her resolve and noted that gaining the approval of these influential master craftsmen, who had connections with the Chairwoman, would certainly not be a disadvantage. Gao Jie returned home to find Chen Pinzhen and Yan Kai enjoying dinner. When asked about her work at Rui Hua, Gao Jie candidly shared the current situation, giving Yu Zhi a pointed glance that made him appear uncomfortable. She looked at a photograph of the phoenix crown, which Yu Zhi confirmed belonged to his grandmother and had been sent to the Customization Department for repair long ago. Eager to restore the crown, Gao Jie affectionately tried to ingratiate herself with Yu Zhi, who playfully reciprocated. Yu Zhi then enlightened Gao Jie about the masters' esteemed backgrounds, which immediately sparked an idea in her mind.
The following day, Gao Jie meticulously cleaned the Customization Department and, catering to the masters' preferences, skillfully won them over. After some good-natured banter among themselves, the three masters began teaching Gao Jie how to restore the phoenix crown, and she gained considerable knowledge throughout the day.
