My Poseidon Episode 7 Recap
> My Poseidon Recap
Ye Hai, possessed by Poseidon, caused a spectacle on the street in a diving suit and flippers before An Fei finally managed to get Duan Xiche to bring him home. The next morning, Ye Hai was appalled to find himself the subject of headline news regarding his antics. He confronted Poseidon, asking what he had done, as Poseidon had claimed he was just collecting data and taking An Fei home to look for Atlantis.
Meanwhile, Ye Tian, noticing Ye Hai’s sudden interest in Han Hai Group matters, grew concerned, especially after his assistant discovered that Duan Xiche had copied data related to the Poseidon experiment for Ye Hai. Duan Xiche later informed Ye Hai that he had found a mysterious individual, Dong Zilong (nicknamed Dragon Prince), who was also investigating the thirteen-year-old incident and had been present at both the Athens Conference and the Poseidon experiment meeting.
Ye Hai tracked down Dong Zilong, who, upon seeing Ye Hai, quickly handed him a USB drive. As a distraction, Dong Zilong deliberately called out “PhD Liao,” referring to Liu Lan, before vanishing. Examining the USB drive, Ye Hai and Duan Xiche discovered it contained old data related to the Nan Hai region from thirteen years ago. This prompted Ye Hai to wonder if Dong Zilong was an ally or an enemy.
He instructed Duan Xiche to investigate Mu Sen's recent energy exploitation areas and to continue tracking Dong Zilong's identity and purpose, noting that he had mentioned Liu Lan. Ye Hai confronted Ye Tian, pointing out that the Poseidon project was not a strategic market for the company and that the "Lankang" experimental field was located in the same sea.
Ye Tian dismissed his concerns, explaining that he had been reviewing old company documents and discovered their grandfather had sponsored renewable energy storage experiments many years ago. However, an experiment in Nan Hai abruptly stopped, shortly before their parents' tragic shipwreck. Ye Tian also recalled the scarred man Ye Hai found after the shipwreck, believing he was not indifferent to the events.
Ye Hai argued that Mu Sen's enthusiastic investment in a supposedly unrelated project seemed suspicious and questioned if their parents’ death was linked to their opposition to this matter. Ye Tian retorted that Han Hai needed to evolve to avoid being surpassed by companies like Mu Sen, emphasizing that their grandfather's ideals, while noble, might not sustain the company in modern times.
He stressed his role as the decision-maker for Han Hai, dismissing Ye Hai’s doubts by pointing out his absence during their grandfather's final moments. Ye Hai remained unconvinced, questioning if investing in the Poseidon laboratory was truly their grandfather's wish. That evening, a dispirited Ye Hai sought solace in alcohol at a bar, ignoring An Fei’s phone call. As he drank heavily, Poseidon manifested within him, complaining about the noise and Ye Hai's drinking.
Poseidon angrily called Ye Hai "birdbrained" as Ye Hai became completely drunk. Duan Xiche arrived and struggled to take the intoxicated Ye Hai home, with Ye Hai (and Poseidon) continuing to act erratically. At home, Ye Hai (still under Poseidon's influence) rudely dismissed Duan Xiche as useless, prompting him to leave. The next morning, Ye Hai waited for An Fei, casually mentioning he had bought a new car as an excuse for being there.
After An Fei thanked him regarding a ship's arrival, Ye Hai became serious, warning her that the Poseidon project, despite being framed as a storage technology experiment, felt like a front for oil exploitation. An Fei, defending Mo Liang’s character, insisted the project was purely scientific. Ye Hai countered by pointing out the suspicious reappearance of Liu Lan after three years, hinting at underlying complexities.
An Fei observed Ye Hai's increasingly intense demeanor and noted his similarity to the "Sea God" he mentioned earlier. At the company canteen, Zhu Miaomiao and other colleagues spread rumors about An Fei and Ye Hai's relationship. An Fei, irritated, told them to stop and chose to sit with Mo Liang, who warned her to be careful of Ye Hai, calling him unreliable. An Fei dismissed his concerns, saying there was nothing between them.
Meanwhile, Lin Huayin approached Ye Hai, revealing that Liu Lan had divorced and was now a career-driven woman. Annoyed by Lin Huayin's persistence, Ye Hai jokingly suggested she marry his brother, Ye Tian, so she could be his sister-in-law. Lin Huayin warned him that he wouldn't last at Han Hai without her help.
Duan Xiche then delivered a crucial report to Ye Hai: the "red dot" on Dong Zilong's map was the exact location of the Poseidon project's exploration point, the same mark Ye Hai had seen in Ye Tian's office. This confirmed Ye Hai's suspicion that Ye Tian's true motive for sponsoring the Poseidon project was marine energy exploitation. Duan Xiche also mentioned that while the project's official risk was only 6%, Ye Hai's safety protocols had been canceled, implying foul play.
Later, Liu Lan revealed to Mo Liang that she was divorced and intended to stay, implying a renewed romantic interest. The next morning, as the first device for the Poseidon project was due to be launched, An Fei arrived early and encountered Mo Liang and Liu Lan returning from a run.
Ye Hai also appeared and began bickering with An Fei, teasing that Mo Liang and Liu Lan were a "perfect match," while he and An Fei were more like "Dumb and Dumber." Exasperated, An Fei attempted to kick Ye Hai, but he playfully lifted her into his arms, making her blush. Upon learning that experimental data had been lost, Ye Hai went directly to Ye Tian to question him again.
He reiterated his disbelief in Ye Tian's explanation for their parents' accident and the Poseidon project, linking it to Mu Sen's energy investments. Ye Tian stubbornly defended his stance, arguing that he was a businessman focused on profit and that Han Hai needed to adapt to market demands, not just uphold their grandfather's ideals.
