My Poseidon Episode 21 Recap
> My Poseidon Recap
Mo Liang called An Fei, telling her he had just finished watching the movie she recommended. He then shared the good news that two instruments were ready for launch for their research. An Fei was excited and eager to return to Nan Hai to join the team, though Mo Liang suggested she didn't have to. He informed her that they needed to negotiate with the owner of a private island for the second survey site.
An Fei recognized that only someone like Ye Hai would own such an island. While An Fei was still on the phone, Ye Hai entered her hospital room, causing her to quickly hang up. Ye Hai playfully accused her of talking about him, to which An Fei retorted that she had merely said he looked like someone who owned an island.
Ye Hai teased her, claiming he almost acquired an island that day, and pressed her on whether she would side with him or "Bai Yue Guang" (Mo Liang's team). An Fei worried about them fighting again, then directly asked if Ye Hai was the owner of a private island, especially the one relevant to the second site. An Fei was relieved to learn that the private island did not belong to Ye Hai.
After some playful banter where An Fei declared she definitely wouldn't help him, a nurse came in, announcing An Fei's discharge and advising her to rest at home. Ye Hai then went to complete the discharge formalities. After leaving the hospital, An Fei called Ming, hoping he would accompany her to a marine exhibition.
Ming, busy with work, couldn't make it but offered a tip: Professor Jiang Zhi was hosting a new weather and energy show called NEONline, which would feature a special exhibition room. Ming speculated it might display an "energy island" and that Jiang Zhi's true objective was to extract ocean hydrogen, which could either unite or divide An Fei's team and Mo Liang's.
Ye Hai picked An Fei up, and during the drive, he received a call from Duan Xiche, who informed him that his brother and Lin Huayin were inquiring about the island. An Fei, lost in thought about the exhibition, inadvertently hit Ye Hai's wound while reacting to his playful teasing. Ye Hai, nursing his injury, proposed a truce, asking An Fei not to disappear when angry, not to seek out Mo Liang when upset, and not to cause him sadness.
An Fei agreed, holding his hand and affectionately calling him "My Ye Shi Da Hai." Back at their rental home, Aunt Zhang greeted them warmly and prepared a delicious meal. During dinner, Aunt Zhang remarked on their unusual lack of bickering and revealed how worried Ye Hai had been during An Fei's absence, pacing the living room like someone lovesick. An Fei confirmed his anxiety, noting he missed her because no one was there to call him "bad luck."
Aunt Zhang, seeing their newfound closeness, wondered if a gift of two small animals (implied to be underwear or similar intimate gift) she had given them was responsible for their improved relationship. Later that evening, after An Fei washed her hair, Ye Hai took over, drying it for her. He complimented her beauty while also teasing her about her round face. He then carried her to bed, instructing her to rest, lamenting that his pneumonia prevented him from kissing her.
An Fei joked that he should stay by her side in case she fainted, but he suggested she could call Aunt Zhang or even Mimi if needed. After An Fei fell asleep, Ye Hai consulted Poseidon, asking what he should do if Ye Tian tried to take what belonged to him. Poseidon warned him against trusting "brotherhood" and playfully suggested drawing lots to resolve the issue. Ye Hai was unimpressed. Poseidon then offered more serious advice: "Believe in love."
Meanwhile, Duan Xiche, acting as Ye Hai's lawyer, met with Ye Tian to discuss the island. Ye Tian, aware of Duan Xiche's competence and loyalty, attempted to persuade him to work for him instead. Duan Xiche politely declined, reaffirming his role as Ye Hai's lawyer. He explained that the island only came with user rights, not full ownership, and therefore couldn't be transferred between brothers, validating Ye Hai's refusal.
Ye Tian mentioned that their grandfather, Chairman Ye Feng, had left the island dormant for many years and hinted at Ye Hai's past "insanity," suggesting it might be stress-related but questioned if it could recur. Duan Xiche corrected Ye Tian, stating that the island played a crucial role in balancing the interests of Han Hai and Mu Sen, a fact Ye Hai understood as he had returned for Han Hai.
Their conversation was interrupted by a call from Lin Huayin, inviting Ye Tian to Jiang Zhi's exhibition, claiming Ye Hai was specifically invited. Intrigued, Ye Tian dismissed Duan Xiche. An Fei and Ye Hai went to the marine exhibition together. Lin Huayin, who was also present, secretly followed Ye Hai. Ye Hai, annoyed, pulled An Fei away to shake her off. Mo Liang and Liu Lan were also present.
Liu Lan pointed out an exhibit that resembled a device they had previously built, and Mo Liang recalled An Fei's deep interest in it during her time at their institute. An Fei asked Ye Hai about the exclusive exhibition room. He told her it wouldn't open until 4 PM and urged her to read the invitation. Spotting Lin Huayin, Ye Hai whisked An Fei away, telling Lin Huayin not to follow them as she was annoying.
An Fei questioned his behavior, and Ye Hai explained that Lin Huayin had previously pressed him for information about the island his grandfather bequeathed him, an island he knew very little about. He wanted to avoid a similar interrogation. Ye Hai then took An Fei to buy clothes. While An Fei was trying on garments, Ye Hai secretly purchased a pink dress she had admired, intending it as a surprise for her to wear back to the exhibition.
An Fei initially objected to the color, thinking it was for a younger girl, and worried about changing clothes mid-event. Ye Hai, however, reminded her of their truce about not fighting or running, subtly pressuring her to wear it. Upon their return to the exhibition, Mo Liang was visibly surprised by An Fei's pink dress. Lin Huayin, openly jealous, made a rude comment about how ugly the expensive dress looked on An Fei.
Liu Lan intervened, reminding Lin Huayin that it was Jiang Zhi's exhibition, hosted by her father, and to avoid causing a scene. An Fei felt self-conscious, but Ye Hai assured her that people were looking at him, not her, and pointed out the serious attire of the other attendees, who were investors from Mu Sen and Han Hai, emphasizing the event's importance. Jiang Zhi began his presentation, discussing ocean hydrogen.
He revealed that years ago, an experimental field of ocean hydrogen was discovered, recognized as a high-conversion, recyclable, low-consumption energy source, but technical limitations prevented its full development. The screen displayed old reflections showing two large Burgen reserves. Jiang Zhi then announced his plan to convert the Nan Hai island into an oil field, promoting societal progress through new energy. An Fei voiced concerns about potential irreversible environmental damage.
Jiang Zhi countered by questioning if the fear of the unknown should impede human advancement. Mo Liang, observing, wondered if Jiang Zhi intended to exploit past scientific discoveries. Jiang Zhi clarified that his approach was about "cooperation, collaboration," not simply giving things away. He mentioned the failure of the first Nan Hai experiment and expressed his eagerness to contribute his help this time. Ye Hai, surprised by Jiang Zhi's apparent knowledge of previously blocked information, asked how he knew. Jiang Zhi, recognizing Ye Hai, stated that he knew a great deal about him and was very interested in him, inviting him for a personal conversation.
