My Poseidon Episode 11 Recap
> My Poseidon Recap
An Fei directly questioned Ye Hai about his decision to recall problematic seafood. He confirmed his actions, asserting his belief that "you will receive what you've treated to the sea" and that he would never allow contaminated fish to enter the market. An Fei found his conviction amusing, and he proudly declared himself "Modern Poseidon," born to protect the ocean.
An Fei then attempted to borrow his phone, but Ye Hai refused, suspecting she intended to contact Mo Liang, despite his earlier acts of saving her and giving her gifts. After their return, An Fei recounted her three-day trip to Greece to Ming, detailing how she had rescued several injured dolphins. Ming, who had already learned about her trip with Ye Hai from a lab trainee, playfully teased her about being indecisive in her affections.
A slightly flustered An Fei quickly insisted that Mo Liang was the only one for her before retreating to her room. The next morning, Mo Liang called An Fei, telling her not to rush back to work as lab equipment was under repair. An Fei used this opportunity to tell him about the severe water pollution she found in Greece, suggesting a link to their Poseidon experiment and an earlier, failed new energy project that had affected water quality.
Mo Liang, however, quickly dismissed her concerns, emphasizing the importance of their current project's success. He then casually reminded her to have dinner with him and her aunt. After the call, An Fei carefully stored the starfish stone she had brought back from Greece, labeling it "Starfish stones - deposited past." Later, upon arriving at the lab, An Fei was surprised to learn from a colleague that she had been transferred to the urgent project department even before her return.
She immediately went to Mo Liang's office, but found only Liu Lan there, who brusquely told her to report directly to her, not Mo Liang. An Fei cautiously asked if the lab was proceeding with high-frequency sonar. Liu Lan acknowledged the dangers of high-frequency sonar but prioritized the experiment's progress and potential profits, implying that An Fei’s persistent stance on "ocean protection and no pollution" was incompatible with the lab's goals.
Liu Lan even asserted that her thinking mirrored Mo Liang's. Realizing her opposition to the sonar had caused her transfer, An Fei, feeling dejected, left, understanding that further discussion was futile. Meanwhile, Ye Hai received a call from C Doctor, who explained that the new energy project from thirteen years ago had been kept secret. Ye Hai's grandfather, Ye Feng, an investor in the project, initially aimed for research, not mass exploitation.
Most core participants used aliases, with C Doctor being "C" and a key figure named "B" being the true discoverer of the new energy. Dr. B was a brilliant but ambitious individual, and disagreements over exploitation methods led to the group's split.
C Doctor mentioned that Dr. B was ill at the time and might no longer be alive, also noting that a similar experiment conducted years later had a suspiciously vague final report, which led him to believe its disastrous results might have been intentionally hidden. C Doctor cautioned that if the same person responsible for hiding those results was now involved in the Poseidon experiment, it could be very dangerous.
Ye Hai also inquired about his own childhood surgery and current health, to which C Doctor replied it was a possibility that required further confirmation. Distraught after Liu Lan dismissed her ideas, An Fei ran outside crying, as heavy rain began to fall. Mo Liang quickly arrived with an umbrella to comfort her. Liu Lan soon followed, also with an umbrella, and attempted to dissuade An Fei from her sadness.
However, a gust of wind blew Liu Lan's umbrella away, and she hurried to share Mo Liang's, making An Fei feel awkward. An Fei then ran further into the downpour. Sensing An Fei's distress, Ye Hai, now in his Poseidon persona, rushed to her aid with an umbrella. Poseidon shielded An Fei, playfully knocked over Mo Liang and Liu Lan's shared umbrella, leaving them drenched.
This act finally brought a smile to An Fei's face, making her realize Poseidon could be quite charming. Poseidon led An Fei to a restaurant. An Fei carefully inquired about the mechanism of his and Ye Hai's switching. Misinterpreting her curiosity as an attempt to control him, Poseidon dramatically stood up, declaring loudly that "there is no way to conquer me," drawing stares from other diners.
He then explained that he and Ye Hai exist "in the same room," and whoever is stronger can "walk out easily." An Fei wondered if this "room" could be locked, but Poseidon firmly insisted he could not be conquered. While eating, Poseidon comically mistook a pineapple bun for a sea turtle and refused to eat fish porridge, prompting An Fei to gently calm him.
An Fei questioned why the Sea King couldn't control the rain, to which Poseidon revealed that rain falls whenever Amphitrite, the Sea Queen, cries, an ability unique to her. He then unexpectedly asked An Fei if she would forgive Ye Hai if he were unfaithful. An Fei vehemently dismissed the hypothetical scenario as impossible and refused to discuss it further.
Once Poseidon receded, Ye Hai found himself complaining about the "nonsense" that was now impacting his family, likely referring to the implications of Poseidon's actions. He then received a call from his brother, Ye Tian, and headed to Han Hai Group. Ye Tian angrily confronted Ye Hai about his actions in Greece, demanding to know how he would explain the situation to the board.
Ye Hai defended his decision to use high-frequency sonar for cleaning areas, which, while causing some losses to fishermen, had addressed an urgent local issue. Ye Tian, however, remained furious, criticizing Ye Hai for recalling seafood products which led to significant financial losses for Han Hai. He questioned who would cover Ye Hai’s "playboy life" if he continued prioritizing benevolence over company profits and argued that a shipping company shouldn't dabble in the energy industry.
In response, Ye Hai, feeling that his brother believed he was encroaching on his share, declared that he would "give it back" and decided to distance himself from these corporate matters, stating he needed to go "entice people" elsewhere. Ye Tian stopped him, reminding him of their parents' death and promising to investigate further if the incident was more than a mere sea accident.
He then instructed his assistant to arrange individual meetings with all board members, emphasizing the need for decisive action. The Poseidon lab was plagued by a virus, displaying a smiling face icon on all infected equipment. Dr. Mo ordered all connected devices to be cut off, expressing frustration about the experiment's slow progress and hinting at a potential downgrade of equipment.
Meanwhile, Liu Lan was aggressively pushing for accelerated progress at the Lan Gang survey point, despite Mo Liang's reservations about introducing it to sponsors prematurely. Liu Lan, recalling a traumatic past where her mentor stole her research due to a four-hour report delay, insisted on maintaining a tight schedule, though she reassured Mo Liang that she trusted him not to repeat such an act.
During a water level measurement in Lan Gang, conducted under Liu Lan's direct orders, fish were inadvertently killed. Liu Lan quickly instructed her subordinate, Miao Miao, to handle the situation by paying off local fishermen to prevent outsiders from discovering their involvement in the pollution. Later, a man (implied to be Dong Zilong) confronted Liu Lan, accusing her of using money to cause destruction and questioning her efforts to hinder "material exploration" and high-frequency sonar, calling her "naive."
He presented her with a damaged monitoring object. Liu Lan claimed her actions were for work, not against anyone, and that without solid evidence, she wouldn't confront her family about the experiment. The man then showed her a scar on his arm, declaring it "the evidence" of the pollution's consequences. Separately, Ye Hai received a call from his assistant, Duan Xi Che, who claimed to have a lead on who sabotaged the lab devices at the harbor.
Ye Hai, driving his new car, convinced An Fei to accompany him to the harbor to prove his innocence. While reviewing footage, they noted the saboteur was fast and familiar with the equipment and his boat, making them both feel the person was familiar. However, An Fei then received a call from Mo Liang, who also claimed to have a clue. Ye Hai, frustrated by An Fei's singular focus on Mo Liang, instructed Duan Xi Che to drive her home.
