My Lonely Planet Recap

Episode 1 Recap

Six months ago, Wang Chen arrived at a pet store to have her cat, Lady Meow, sterilized. However, Lady Meow had an unexpected fever, causing the procedure to be postponed. At the same time, Miao Yu brought his male dog, Coffee, to the same store after it was accidentally scraped by an electric bicycle. In the waiting area, Miao Yu waited for Coffee's surgery while Wang Chen sat nearby, accompanying her feverish Lady Meow, who was receiving an IV drip.

A news report about the impending Comet WTF666, a millennium-occurrence with powerful energy that could cause significant human changes, played on a television. Wang Chen, who suffered from severe obsessive-compulsive disorder, noticed a loose thread on Miao Yu's clothing and struggled with the urge to snip it. Her restrained demeanor also left a deep impression on Miao Yu.

During a phone call, Miao Yu dismissed the comet's potential impact on Earth, calling it a "horse urine stone" and telling his subordinate that if new products weren't online tomorrow, they could go "to the solar system with the comet." Wang Chen, observing him, thought him strange for working while his dog was in surgery, but also noted his attractive appearance despite his "bad taste" in clothes, particularly his black turtleneck and choice of socks.

She intensely desired to cut the loose thread on his shirt. Miao Yu, sensing her gaze, asked if she had something to tell him, to which she quietly replied, "No." As the comet streaked across the sky, leaving a long pink glow, the affected areas of Earth briefly lost power. In the sudden darkness, the recently operated Coffee and the finished-with-IV Lady Meow broke free from their owners.

Wang Chen and Miao Yu chased after their pets, while a pet store employee also struggled with an agitated pet snake. In the chaotic moments, Wang Chen embraced Coffee, Miao Yu caught Lady Meow, and the employee controlled the snake. Time seemed to stop as all three pets emitted a pink glow, resonating with the humans holding them. When the power returned, everything seemed to revert to normal, without any apparent anomaly. Life soon resumed its normal rhythm.

Miao Yu, a man of routine, gave his partner, Li Zhizhi, a morning kiss before starting his day. He enjoyed a warm morning run with Coffee, but upon arriving at WALNUT headquarters, he transformed into a stern and efficient CEO. He strictly enforced company rules, even deducting an employee's salary for being late, despite the employee's mother being hospitalized.

When the employee resigned, Miao Yu accepted without hesitation, yet privately transferred ten thousand yuan to him to help cover expenses during his transition period, demonstrating his clear distinction between professional conduct and personal compassion. In contrast, Wang Chen woke to a pile of bills. Like many young women living alone, she rushed through her morning routine, carefully choosing a discounted takeaway meal.

She then hurried to her clothing store, Sunray, wearing an outfit of her own design: a cropped denim jacket over a long skirt. There, her store manager, Zhou Xixi, informed her about overdue rent and utility bills. Despite these financial pressures, Wang Chen remained optimistic, believing that quality designs would eventually be recognized. Later, Coli, a popular fashion blogger known for her ability to make products sell out, arrived at Sunray.

Earlier, Coli had curtly rejected WALNUT's collaboration offer with a dismissive "too ugly to accept." Now, during a live broadcast in Wang Chen's store, Wang Chen was tasked as the "aesthetic mentor" to blindly select the "ugliest" dress from three different design companies. Plagued by social anxiety, Wang Chen reluctantly closed her eyes and pointed to a yellow sequined dress from WALNUT, a brand whose designs typically sold well.

Coli pressed her to articulate the dress's flaws, and with Zhou Xixi's urgent prompts and the camera lights focusing on her, Wang Chen grew increasingly anxious. As her emotional tension peaked, a sudden pink glow emanated from her. Instantly, Wang Chen transformed. Her mood became volatile, and she candidly declared WALNUT's dress "super ugly," dissecting its "failed" design and "sucky" cutting, calling it a "total disaster."

Miao Yu, who had been trying to collaborate with Coli, was shocked to see this unfolding on video. As he watched the explosive comments flood the screen, a pink glow enveloped him. He decided to personally confront Wang Chen, his words and actions now mimicking an arrogant cat. Upon seeing Miao Yu, the previously agitated Wang Chen felt an unexpected surge of joy. Miao Yu, assuming she had been bribed, waited for her apology like an arrogant cat.

Wang Chen, feeling her taste insulted, reacted like a dog whose food had been stolen, becoming aggressive and confrontational. Their heated exchange culminated in Miao Yu's foot being struck by an iron. As he stormed off, he threatened her with a lawyer's letter. Zhou Xixi noted Wang Chen's erratic behavior, commenting that she acted "just like a dog whose bone was snatched." Shortly after, Miao Yu, appearing as a delivery man, arrived with Wang Chen's food.

His presence, under the warm sun, seemed to soothe her volatile emotions. Thoughts she would typically keep to herself now flowed out effortlessly. She commented on how "cool" he still was and expressed her appreciation for his "good taste" in clothes, recognizing his Yohji Yamamoto coat. He also seemed to understand her internal thoughts, sensing her dislike for mechanical app-based orders.

He praised her designs and her store's name, Sunray, noting its dual meaning related to sunshine and a fashion term. As he left, he gently draped his long coat over her shoulders, noticing her dress was disheveled. Feeling protected, a subtle white glow enveloped Wang Chen, and she reverted to her usual, quieter self. That evening, back at his apartment after work, Miao Yu unexpectedly craved fish, an item he never typically ate.

Li Zhizhi, not having prepared any, offered a kiss as compensation. The simple gesture filled Miao Yu with happiness, and his now softened heart caused a white glow to emanate from him, returning him to his normal state. The fluctuations in their emotions continued to trigger these changes. Wang Chen, furious to find herself trending as "Lady Ugly" and turned into numerous memes online, experienced another burst of pink light.

This time, she found herself overwhelmed by an uncontrollable longing for Miao Yu. Rushing to his house, she burst through the door and threw herself into his arms, clinging to him like a sloth.

Episode 2 Recap

Wang Chen, compelled by an inexplicable urge, clung tightly to Miao Yu in the middle of the street. She found herself driven to seek him out whenever a pink light enveloped her, obeying his every command with an almost dog-like devotion, only wishing to nestle into his embrace.

Witnessing this scene, Li Zhizhi, Miao Yu's girlfriend, calmly mistook Wang Chen for a mistress and gracefully departed in a taxi, telling Miao Yu not to worry as she wouldn't "punch a mistress." Miao Yu struggled to detach Wang Chen, frustrated by her persistence. He desperately called out to Li Zhizhi, but she was already gone, leaving him disheartened. As he sat dejectedly on the curb, the mysterious pink light reappeared around him.

He also noticed his dog, Coffee, was behaving unusually, adding to the chaotic scene. Disturbed by her own erratic behavior, Wang Chen hurried to Ling Sansan's restaurant, seeking answers. Ling Sansan, who offered tarot card readings as a side business, initially suggested Wang Chen's troubles might stem from a past relationship. Wang Chen quickly dismissed this idea, joking that Sansan must have secretly reconnected with an ex.

Ling Sansan then brought up the WTF666 comet, explaining its mysterious cosmic power could cause unpredictable changes in the world, far beyond a simple breakup. When Sansan tried to sell her an expensive "comet customized lucky mascot," Wang Chen, ever the skeptic, refused, leading Sansan to jokingly accuse her of not loving her anymore. Later, Wang Chen returned, even more perplexed, pushing Sansan for another divination.

Sansan, noticing Wang Chen's altered demeanor, teased her about being "Miss Celebrity" (referring to her "Lady Ugly" online persona). Wang Chen recounted her strange compulsion to go to Miao Yu's home. She expressed her strong dislike for Miao Yu, emphasizing he had a girlfriend and was annoying. Instead, she found solace and easy conversation with her handsome "deliveryman," with whom she felt no awkwardness.

Sansan's tarot reading for Wang Chen's love life surprisingly revealed a "doggy" card, leading Sansan to declare, "You'll have a dog," and remarking that Wang Chen now acted "just like a dog." The next morning, Wang Chen woke at 5:30 AM with an unfamiliar burst of energy, joining a group of neighborhood women, including Aunt Liu, for an enthusiastic session of square dancing.

Aunt Liu, surprised by Wang Chen's newfound outgoing personality, mentioned that she used to think Wang Chen had autism because she was so quiet. Suddenly experiencing severe leg pain, Wang Chen rushed to the hospital. However, the doctor found no physical issues, dismissing her symptoms as an attempt to get a sick leave note. Infuriated by the accusation, Wang Chen forcefully demonstrated her leg's pain, startling the doctor, who then suggested she see a psychologist.

Storming out, Wang Chen’s mood quickly shifted. Seeing the bright sunlight, she suddenly wanted to go picnicking. Then, spotting a familiar coat, she excitedly decided to return it to her "deliveryman." She arrived at the restaurant, Rinascite, and was greeted by Luca, an employee with surprisingly good Chinese. Wang Chen asked for the "deliveryman," but Luca informed her they didn't offer delivery service. Just then, Ray (Qin Sirui), the owner, appeared.

Wang Chen realized that Ray, the "deliveryman," was also the boss. Ray explained that her orders went directly to his personal number from the restaurant's initial promotional flyers, and he couldn't refuse a direct text. Wang Chen returned his coat, and they introduced themselves. Ray then invited her to share lunch and try a new dish.

During their meal, Wang Chen learned the restaurant's name, "Rinascite," meant "rebirth" in Italian, reflecting Ray's experience studying in Italy and his menu inspired by Renaissance art. She observed that her previous takeout prices were significantly discounted, realizing Ray had been giving her special treatment. She offered insightful feedback on a new dish, suggesting the rose honey overpowered the strawberry. Ray acknowledged her point, and they shared a toast to "Por Una Cabeza," a song whose name few recognized.

Wang Chen felt a comfortable and natural connection with the gentle and gentlemanly Ray. Meanwhile, Miao Yu woke up confused and disoriented, startled to realize it was already noon – his first time being late for work. At Walnut's headquarters, he was confronted by Mr. He, an investor, about the drastic drop in sales following Wang Chen's scathing live broadcast.

Miao Yu, bringing his dog Coffee into the meeting, calmly dismissed Mr. He, assuring him that every problem had a solution. He confidently declared his plan: acquisition. Miao Yu's team was strategizing how to counter the negative public opinion from "Lady Ugly" (Wang Chen's viral persona). Miao Yu suggested either collaborating with her or, if she refused, simply acquiring her company. This way, they could leverage her popularity while demonstrating Walnut's generosity.

Simultaneously, at Wang Chen's shop, her assistant celebrated a surge in sales due to influencer Coli's recommendation, with new dresses selling out rapidly and many pre-orders (twenty-seven, to be exact). However, Wang Chen expressed concern about a shortage of imported fabric, refusing to compromise her design integrity by using substitutes. She believed good fabric "breathed" and was integral to her creations, a sentiment her assistant dismissed as "poor, but still proud."

Later, Miao Yu texted Li Zhizhi a happy birthday message, and she replied, asking him to book dinner. When his employee found Wang Chen's contact, Miao Yu decided to call her himself. Wang Chen, having returned to her more introverted self, initially rejected the call from Miao Yu, who identified himself as Walnut's CEO. She was annoyed and accidentally damaged her work.

In a sudden shift, the pink light reappeared around her, and she found herself happily calling Miao Yu back, insisting on an immediate meeting. Miao Yu, surprised by her sudden change of heart, agreed to meet her at 5 PM at the aquarium, having been influenced by seeing a colleague's fish tank. At the aquarium, Miao Yu met Wang Chen, trying to clarify that he had a girlfriend and Wang Chen shouldn't have "non-marital thoughts" about him.

Wang Chen, however, seemed to ignore his warnings, showing an unusual compulsion to stay close to him and playfully asking for a "big fish." When Miao Yu, influenced by his own cat-like desires, then inquired if she wanted a "shark," she surprisingly denied it, yet her overall behavior still indicated a strange obedience towards him. He then presented her with acquisition contracts. Without a second glance, Wang Chen eagerly signed them, stating she would do "anything to make him happy."

Just then, Miao Yu received a call from Li Zhizhi, who had arrived for her birthday dinner. He quickly departed, leaving Wang Chen. Back at her shop, the pink glow faded, and Wang Chen realized the gravity of her impulsive actions: she had signed away her company. Enraged, she tracked Miao Yu down to the restaurant where he was having dinner with Li Zhizhi. Wang Chen burst in, accusing Miao Yu of bullying her.

Li Zhizhi, recognizing Wang Chen as "Lady Ugly," was shocked and mistakenly thought Wang Chen was a stalker harassing Miao Yu. Li Zhizhi, fed up, once again left the scene. Wang Chen's anger escalated into a physical altercation with Miao Yu, and they were both taken to the police station. At the station, the officer, mistaking them for a bickering couple, tried to mediate their "lovers' quarrel." He made them sign forms and, to ensure reconciliation, ordered them to hug.

Wang Chen, still furious, protested the forced embrace but eventually complied under the threat of calling their parents. Once released into the night, Wang Chen, her pink glow gone and back to her normal self, apologized to Miao Yu for ruining his date and for her uncontrolled actions. She broke down, lamenting her misfortune: her struggling fashion brand was finally noticed by an influencer, only for her to become "Lady Ugly" and the subject of viral memes.

Miao Yu, in an attempt to comfort her, mentioned the acquisition, inadvertently triggering her pink light once more. Wang Chen's frustration immediately shifted, accusing Miao Yu of being the source of her problems. She tearfully recounted her inexplicable dog-like behaviors: her persistent leg pain, her uncanny ability to always find him, her compulsion to pick up empty bottles, and finally asking him if he knew any designer who woke up at 5:30 AM to square dance.

Miao Yu, observing Wang Chen's dog-like traits, whispered "Coffee" into her ear. To his surprise, she instinctively responded. This sparked a realization in Miao Yu about his own recent cat-like behaviors, such as sleeping until noon, which Wang Chen confirmed. Convinced something was profoundly wrong, they agreed to visit the city hospital the next morning.

At the hospital, after describing their symptoms – Wang Chen's hyperactivity and desire to "nuzzle," Miao Yu's lethargy and compulsive cleaning – the doctor, finding their case perplexing, referred them to the psychiatric ward. Recalling the strange events surrounding the comet and the odd pet shop employee with the pet snake, they decided to return to the pet hospital.

There, they observed the same employee exhibiting fluid, snake-like movements, confirming their fears: they weren't crazy; the comet had somehow infused people with animal characteristics. They then found Dr. Bi, a specialist, also displaying twitchy, rabbit-like behavior, alongside other individuals like Mengmeng, who raised a hamster, and Wang Zi, an actor who now resembled a frog. It became clear that many people were experiencing these bizarre animalistic transformations.

Episode 3 Recap

A group of young people, including Fang Xun, who now possessed the slow reflexes of a turtle, gathered at Dr. Bi Guan's research institute. Dr. Bi, a PhD in astrophysics, explained that a mysterious comet, Comet 666, makes a close approach to Earth only once every 1111 years. He revealed that limited historical records from its last appearance indicated some people developed animal characteristics, exhibiting bizarre behaviors before ultimately being executed as "monsters" by the newly ascended emperor.

Dr. Bi theorized that these animal-like behaviors, which left individuals conscious but unable to control their actions or change their appearance, were triggered by any negative emotion—be it anxiety, disappointment, sadness, dejection, or loneliness. The only way to revert to normal was to experience genuine, heartfelt happiness. Meanwhile, Wang Chen, at a fabric store, found herself frustrated when Sis Zhang claimed a limited European fabric she wanted was sold out.

Wang Chen, whose senses were heightened, detected the fabric's scent, prompting Sis Zhang to admit it was reserved for a "big customer" under contract. Sis Zhang also advised Wang Chen to focus on finding a reliable boyfriend rather than pursuing a serious career. This dismissal of her professional aspirations, coupled with the fabric disappointment, triggered Wang Chen's Coffee persona.

She felt compelled to enforce her boundaries and advocate for her career, telling Sis Zhang that girls deserve to have their own businesses. Driven by her Coffee state, Wang Chen hurried to Walnut, Miao Yu's company, to address the acquisition contract she had signed while previously under the influence of Coffee.

Upon arrival, she found Miao Yu, the company's CEO, being mistaken for a pervert and physically assaulted by a new cleaner for pulling a loose thread from his "Walnut fleece" sweater. His employees quickly intervened to clarify his identity. When Wang Chen confronted him about the contract, she threatened to expose his cat persona, Lady Meow, to everyone.

Miao Yu, worried about his company's image if his condition were exposed, tried to control her by commanding her to "shake" and "turn" like a dog. He managed to silence her and agreed to cancel the acquisition contract if she signed a new confidentiality agreement. They met at Ling Sansan's café, where Ling Sansan, Wang Chen's best friend, initially mistook Miao Yu for a deliveryman before recognizing him as the CEO of Walnut.

She playfully offered her services as a consultant for a potential zodiac-themed clothing line. Wang Chen, having returned to her normal self, noted that Miao Yu was no longer in his Coffee state. Miao Yu explained that his cat persona, Lady Meow, was akin to a 15-year-old girl, while Wang Chen's Coffee persona was like an 18 or 19-year-old boy. Wang Chen revealed she was 24, and Miao Yu, 28.

To confirm his normal state, Wang Chen jokingly sprayed him with water (as Lady Meow disliked water), which he tolerated. During their conversation, Wang Chen also referred to Walnut's designs as "ugly," despite their popularity, expressing her low opinion of Miao Yu's aesthetic taste. Miao Yu presented the new confidentiality agreement, which had more stringent rules for Wang Chen, citing her more frequent and destructive animal-like episodes.

The agreement stipulated that Wang Chen must not go to Walnut's offices or any work-related events, nor could she perform any surgery on Lady Meow before November 11, 2019, to avoid negatively impacting Miao Yu's (and thus Walnut's) sales. In exchange, Miao Yu promised to fulfill three conditions for Wang Chen, provided they were legal, ethical, and within his capabilities. They also agreed to help each other when one was experiencing an abnormal mental state.

Ling Sansan, misinterpreting their serious discussion, teased them about their "date" and left them alone. After Wang Chen signed, she discovered a hidden clause between pages two and three: if she violated the confidentiality agreement, her brand, Sunray (meaning "reborn" in Italian, or "Rinascite"), would be acquired by Walnut for 100,000. She protested, but Miao Yu calmly stated the clause would only be activated if she breached the agreement.

Ling Sansan, returning, accidentally saw the contract and found the terms unbelievable, but then playfully suggested that Wang Chen's connection with "Mr. Meow" (Miao Yu, whose surname also means "cat") was "fate," and the start of a "romantic story." Wang Chen vehemently rejected the idea, calling Miao Yu a "stupid businessman" with "aesthetic cancer." She confided to Ling Sansan that her "deliveryman" (Qin Sirui) was actually a restaurant owner, prompting Ling Sansan to advise her to thoroughly investigate him.

Later that evening, Qin Sirui (Ray) sent Wang Chen a WeChat friend request. Wang Chen wondered how he had obtained her contact information, and almost immediately, Qin Sirui messaged, "I just tried to try with your phone number. Guess I’m pretty lucky." He then expressed his gratitude for her advice on a new dish and inquired about the inspiration behind her "painting as a dish" concept.

Wang Chen decided to keep it a secret for now, promising to tell him someday. She found his ability to seemingly read her thoughts incredibly comforting. The next day, Wang Chen diligently called her customers to apologize for Sunray's inability to fulfill dress orders on time due to a fabric shortage, refusing to use substitute fabrics. Many customers responded with anger and accusations, leaving Wang Chen feeling deeply upset.

This negativity caused her to glow pink, signaling her transformation into Coffee again. Immediately, she sought out Miao Yu. Miao Yu, already eating, recognized her Coffee state. He offered her meat at the restaurant, noting that Coffee loved the establishment's meat and how it was prepared to avoid dental harm. Wang Chen, as Coffee, devoured the meal.

She then questioned Miao Yu about her recent changes in taste, stating she no longer enjoyed spicy or salty food and couldn't taste sweetness. Miao Yu explained that cats naturally cannot taste sweetness and avoid overly spicy or salty foods, joking that she was a "cat person, not a pig person." He then took her phone, jokingly claiming he wanted to assess the "aesthetic taste" of someone (referring to Qin Sirui) who frequently disparaged his own.

While scrolling through Qin Sirui's Moments, he accidentally "liked" a very old post, much to Wang Chen's horror. He advised her against un-liking it, as it would only draw more attention. Meanwhile, Qin Sirui, discussing a new "valentine set" with flower-shaped chocolates with his employee Luca, observed Wang Chen's accidental "like" on his old social media post. Taking it as an opportunity, he promptly invited her to the restaurant to try new dishes.

Despite being full from her meal with Miao Yu, Wang Chen, feeling happy about the invitation, eagerly accepted, rushing off, causing Miao Yu to lament that his "big bones were gnawed for nothing." At dinner with Qin Sirui, Wang Chen felt awkward and had to excuse herself to the restroom multiple times, as she was still full.

Qin Sirui expressed his admiration for her, stating she was "special" and "more real" than other girls who only posed for photos with their food. He confessed his desire to know more about her life before they met and asked for her opinion of him. Feeling overwhelmed, Wang Chen tried to leave, but Qin Sirui presented her with a beautifully designed chocolate flower.

Touched by the gesture, Wang Chen stayed and later, for the first time, posted a picture of the flower on her social media, which surprised Ling Sansan. The next day, Miao Yu's employee, Ken, accidentally sent a group message inviting his colleagues to a bar for drinks after work. Miao Yu, who was in his Lady Meow persona, surprisingly accepted, prompting his team to awkwardly join him at the bar.

Earlier that day, in his Lady Meow state, Miao Yu had demonstrated an unusually strict adherence to company procedures, challenging his employee Yu Yang about a supplier recommended by Mr. He (who was Mr. He's cousin). He questioned Yu Yang's loyalty ("Are you an employee of Walnut or Mr. He?" ) and ultimately refused to sign a contract that bypassed the competitive presentation and review process for suppliers.

At the bar, finding his colleagues' reserved behavior boring, Lady Meow, acting like a confident 15-year-old girl, suddenly jumped onto the bar and began an energetic dance, astonishing everyone with his moves. Two other investors from a venture capital meeting recognized him, complimenting his success and mistakenly thinking he was hosting a team-building event. After a night of heavy drinking, Miao Yu was completely inebriated. Ken took him home, where the drunken Miao Yu playfully called Ken the "fattest" and then unceremoniously told him to "Get out of my house."

Episode 4 Recap

Wang Chen found herself smiling uncontrollably after receiving a message from Ray inviting her for a walk on Saturday. She excitedly told her cat, "Lady Meow, he asked me to go out. Is that a date?" Meanwhile, Miao Yu was at the office, suffering from a headache and unable to recall the previous night's events. Ken and a colleague jokingly suggested that the bar they visited served "fake alcohol" and recommended healthier activities like jogging or hiking in the future.

Later, Miao Yu approached Ken, fabricating a story about a "friend" whose girlfriend mistakenly believed he was cheating due to a "personal reason." Ken's surprising advice was for the friend to "propose." Soon after, Ken and Luo Li spotted Miao Yu at a jewelry store during lunch. They quickly deduced that the "friend" was actually Miao Yu himself. A sales assistant showed Miao Yu a 1. 314-carat ring, symbolizing "love in a lifetime," and Miao Yu purchased it.

The same weekend, Mr. He called Miao Yu into his office, offering him special tea and advising against excessive coffee consumption. Mr. He revealed that Antong Group intended to acquire Walnut and presented prepared contracts. Miao Yu noted that the existence of contracts suggested the acquisition was more than just an intention. Antong Group planned to transform Walnut into an "entry luxury brand," which fundamentally contradicted Miao Yu's initial vision of providing "affordable fast fashion" for ordinary people.

Mr. He bluntly stated that his original intention was investment return and that the acquisition would double profits. He informed Miao Yu that all other shareholders had already agreed, and Miao Yu’s vote was merely a formality. Mr. He then left, suggesting Miao Yu take a break and anticipating his "good news." Miao Yu later saw a WeChat Moments post from Li Zhizhi, hinting she wanted a platinum necklace for her new silver-buckled bag.

Miao Yu messaged her, offering to buy her a new necklace and invite her to dinner the following night, stating he had something important to tell her. After she agreed, Miao Yu made a note in his phone to "book a restaurant for proposal tomorrow night." Ken, whose phone was linked to Miao Yu's, immediately saw the memo.

He excitedly woke Luo Li, and they began making elaborate plans for the proposal, including choosing a restaurant, selecting dishes, and considering music and lighting. They booked a restaurant called Rinascite, and the owner, Ray, meticulously described how he would arrange a quiet area, a "Birth of Venus" menu, and a rose-shaped chocolate dessert with the ring placed beside it. Wang Chen arrived at Rinascite for her pre-arranged outing with Ray.

Witnessing Ray’s detailed explanation of the proposal setup, she momentarily fantasized about Ray proposing to her someday, before snapping back to reality, reminding herself they were "just friends." Ray then joined Wang Chen, apologizing for his delay, explaining he had been discussing the proposal arrangements with guests. He offered her homemade chocolate from his car, and shared that he often visited this quiet lakeside spot, a place his father used to take him.

Ray gently wiped chocolate from Wang Chen's mouth, making her blush as she briefly thought he was going to kiss her. He then invited her to dinner the following night, mentioning his mother might join them. Wang Chen was thrilled but tried to appear nonchalant. Wang Chen discussed the impending meeting with Ling Sansan, who emphasized it was a "grand interview" for a wealthy family.

Sansan advised Wang Chen to bring "Hong Kong bird's nest" as a gift and coached her on how to present herself, suggesting she describe herself as a "business owner of an emerging fashion brand" and her hobby as "playing with her cat," rather than focusing on work, to appear more endearing to Ray's mother. Meanwhile, Ken and Luo Li enthusiastically reported back to Miao Yu about their restaurant choice.

Miao Yu maintained his "friend" pretense, claiming his memo was a "mistake" and asking for their help to find a necklace for this same "friend" – a white, four-petal flower. Luo Li correctly identified it as a Vintage Alhambra, and Miao Yu selected one. Luo Li gushed about how much his "friend's" girlfriend would want to marry him, prompting Miao Yu to dismiss them. Luo Li mused that Miao Yu was simply being "prudent" about his grand plans.

On the night of the proposal, Miao Yu made a phone call to his parents, announcing, "Dad, Mom, I'm going to propose tonight. I’ll take her home during the Spring Festival. Wish me good luck." At Rinascite, Ray and his colleague Luca were preparing for the evening. Luca complimented Wang Chen when she arrived, thinking she was there with Ray. As Wang Chen went to the restroom, Miao Yu arrived to check in for his proposal reservation.

They unexpectedly ran into each other. Miao Yu, annoyed, complained he had a bad feeling about the restaurant name and demanded Wang Chen leave, as it was his "big day." Wang Chen retorted that she was there for an important reason too: meeting an "aunt." Miao Yu deduced she was meeting Ray's mother and sarcastically called it an "interview," urging her to leave due to the perceived "over-the-line" nature of Ray’s family.

Wang Chen explained she couldn't leave as it was Ray's restaurant. After some bickering, they compromised, with Wang Chen agreeing to sit with her back to Miao Yu’s table to avoid being seen by Li Zhizhi. Ray's mother arrived, a seemingly stern and business-like woman. Ray introduced Wang Chen, who greeted her and presented the bird's nest. Ray's mother, having likely seen Wang Chen’s social media, commented on her keeping a cat.

Wang Chen, remembering Sansan's advice, confirmed her hobby was "playing with Lady Meow." Wang Chen then tried to switch seats to face the terrace, but Ray's mother wanted the same view. Ray suggested they both sit on the same side. Soon after, Li Zhizhi arrived. Miao Yu presented her with the Vintage Alhambra necklace, noting he saw her Moments post. Li Zhizhi’s expression hinted at disappointment with the gift, but she accepted it politely.

Miao Yu then apologized for causing her insecurity due to a "misunderstanding" from an "irresistible force," reaffirming his love. As a dish emitting white mist was served and music began to play, Miao Yu knelt and, holding the ring, proposed to Li Zhizhi. Meanwhile, Ray’s mother, claiming other appointments, had Ray drive her away, leaving Wang Chen alone at the table.

As Li Zhizhi hesitated to respond to Miao Yu's proposal, Wang Chen, struggling to control her "Coffee" urges, accidentally lunged towards Miao Yu's table, knocking over the misty dish and engulfing Miao Yu and Li Zhizhi in fog. Li Zhizhi, clearly displeased, exclaimed, "This is your surprise?" before rejecting the proposal, saying, "I'm sorry, I became Coffee again."

Miao Yu, furious but unable to directly blame Wang Chen (due to their contract and his understanding of her "Coffee" state), ordered her to "Get out." Miao Yu was visibly upset, but he understood Wang Chen's desire to approach him when she transformed. Wang Chen walked the streets, lamenting her failures and her inability to control her transformations, wishing to avoid causing Miao Yu more trouble.

Miao Yu, also outside, contemplated discarding the engagement ring but couldn't bring himself to do it. As he turned, a passerby bumped into him, causing the ring to fall and roll across the pavement, coming to rest directly at Wang Chen’s feet.

Episode 5 Recap

Miao Yu had a premonition of failure before his marriage proposal. Two days before, he dreamt of Li Zhizhi drifting further away from him, first walking, then running, and finally flying, leaving behind only a high heel covered in diamonds. While Miao Yu pondered the dream's meaning, Wang Chen commented that the high heel in his dream was ugly.

Seeing Wang Chen's injured hand, a result of her strenuous effort to resist transforming into Coffee and coming to his proposal, softened Miao Yu's heart. He then asked her to apply a cold compress followed by a hot compress. Earlier, Miao Yu had imagined a future conversation with Li Zhizhi where she would read in their big house, Coffee would play beside her, and he would be the one to provide for them.

Meanwhile, Qin Sirui's mother, who was meant to meet Wang Chen, had deliberately arrived late and quickly expressed her disapproval of Wang Chen, deeming her unsuitable. Unbeknownst to Wang Chen at the time, Qin Sirui's mother was actually observing them from afar. Wang Chen later received a call from Ling Sansan, who discovered a social media post showing Qin Sirui's mother covertly observing them from a distance on multiple occasions, wearing different outfits.

Ling Sansan expressed concern over the mother's persistent interference, but Wang Chen told her she was not worried, affirming that as long as Qin Sirui liked her, love was a matter between just two people. Despite the challenges, Qin Sirui had earlier reassured Wang Chen over the phone that his mother's opinions did not represent his own feelings, making Wang Chen happy.

At Miao Yu's company, his colleagues excitedly prepared decorations to celebrate his presumed successful proposal, only to learn from a restaurant call that it had failed, partly due to another girl's presence. They hurriedly dismantled everything before Miao Yu arrived. Miao Yu, noticing their awkwardness and the half-removed decorations, quickly concocted a story about a "friend's" failed proposal, urging everyone to get back to work. Later, Li Zhizhi messaged Miao Yu, apologizing for the previous night.

She expressed a desire to enjoy more free and independent time with him and subtly suggested he needed to resolve his "other entanglements." Miao Yu then sought advice from his colleagues, Ken and Luo Li, presenting his situation as if it were a "friend's" dilemma. Ken and Luo Li praised Li Zhizhi's maturity for not rushing into marriage and her tolerance for his "personal reasons," concluding that she must truly love him.

Their advice led Miao Yu to decide that his "friend" (himself) should maintain distance from his "personal reason" (Wang Chen). Miao Yu met with a lawyer, Ms. Zhao, who informed him that his position at his company, Walnut, was on the hazard due to investment agreements, lack of veto power, and valuation adjustment, noting that founders are often ousted. As they spoke, Wang Chen, in Coffee form, arrived at the restaurant.

Miao Yu instinctively put his hand on her head, startling Ms. Zhao, who asked if Wang Chen was his girlfriend. Both Miao Yu and Wang Chen denied it. Ms. Zhao excused herself. Wang Chen wanted to play in the ball pit, but Miao Yu refused to consult with Dr. Bi Guan, a doctor Ling Sansan had mentioned might help them understand their condition. Miao Yu was concerned about his company's image if word got out that its CEO was "ill."

Wang Chen argued that he prioritized work over feelings. Miao Yu retorted that Wang Chen reminded him they needed to keep their distance, citing their confidentiality agreement and his need not to disappoint Li Zhizhi. He insisted that any future communication should be through messages, not phone calls or meetings. Despite their argument, they ended up playfully fighting in the ball pit, until a staff member reminded them it was for children.

Later, Wang Chen and Qin Sirui shared lunch at her apartment. Qin Sirui apologized again for his mother’s behavior and even brought three portions of food, one for Wang Chen's cat, Lady Meow, explaining he had learned to make cat food. He also suggested visiting her parents to reassure them, but Wang Chen preferred not to rush. At the same time, Miao Yu was called away for urgent work.

Li Zhizhi, who had come to pick him up after work, offered to take Coffee for his check-up and return him home, while she went to dinner with friends. Miao Yu agreed, appreciating her support. After Coffee's check-up, Li Zhizhi briefly left him outside the pet shop to buy throat medicine. When she returned, Coffee was gone. Distraught, she called Miao Yu, apologizing but also mentioning her dinner plans with friends.

Miao Yu, understanding her commitment, told her to go to her dinner, while he would search for Coffee himself. Miao Yu frantically searched for Coffee, calling his name and even mistaking another dog for his own. Exhausted and despondent, he found himself unable to move, sitting on a bench, experiencing what he described as "Lady Meow's characteristics" – a state of cat-like immobility when unhappy.

He called Wang Chen, asking for help, but she was not in Coffee form and could not "feel" him. She suggested printing posters to increase the chances of finding him. Miao Yu then asked her how to make "Lady Meow" (himself) cheer up. Wang Chen, interpreting his plea, began to pet him, explaining that this usually makes her cat happy.

Miao Yu felt better and thanked her, then confessed his deep fear of never seeing Coffee again, emphasizing how crucial Coffee was to him. Miao Yu recounted how he and Coffee first met because of a business card. He recalled a difficult time when he was desperately seeking investment for Walnut. Other investors, like Mr. Lin, made him drink excessively and mocked his sincerity.

However, a kind gentleman, Mr. He, appreciated Miao Yu's honesty and gave him his business card, telling him to call. Drunk and unsteady, Miao Yu stumbled out, keenly aware of the card's potential to save Walnut, but he accidentally dropped it. At that critical moment, Coffee appeared, retrieved the business card, and brought it back to him. Miao Yu waited with Coffee by the roadside for a long time, but Coffee's owner never came, so Miao Yu adopted him.

He stressed that without Coffee, Walnut would not exist, and neither would he. Coffee was like family to him. Wang Chen agreed, acknowledging that her own cat, Lady Meow, was also like family, and expressed gratitude for their presence in their lives. She mused about how wonderful it would be if people could always be as they were at their first meeting, without deception or disappointment. As Miao Yu spoke, Wang Chen transformed into Coffee.

She could sense Coffee's experience: running on fallen leaves in a moist forest, hearing many cars, and recognizing a congested road she regularly walked Coffee on. She then caught the distinct smell of asphalt, realizing it was coming from the road repair near Miao Yu’s building, confirming Coffee was heading home. She urged Miao Yu to go home. Rushing back, Miao Yu found Coffee waiting at the door.

He was overwhelmed with relief but also angry that Coffee had run off so far. He scolded the dog before embracing him. Marveling at Coffee's ability to find his way back, Miao Yu concluded that Coffee must have missed him dearly. He then told Wang Chen that he couldn't maintain distance from her anymore, because without her, he wouldn’t have found Coffee. Wang Chen playfully responded by asking if he was now treating her like a guide dog. Their shared moment with Coffee at the door was filled with a natural warmth.

Episode 6 Recap

Wang Chen went to the library and saw Li Zhizhi with another man. Naively, Wang Chen approached them, attempting to explain her non-existent relationship with Miao Yu. However, Li Zhizhi skillfully framed Wang Chen as the third party in front of the man, recounting how Wang Chen supposedly interrupted Miao Yu's proposal, his birthday, and even behaved intimately with Miao Yu.

Li Zhizhi coolly referred to Miao Yu as her "ex-boyfriend" to the man, who then publicly accused Wang Chen of being a mistress. Deeply hurt and humiliated, Wang Chen cried alone, repeatedly asserting her innocence. Moments later, Qin Sirui, who had just finished a phone call about restaurant business, saw Wang Chen crying. He mistakenly thought she was upset because he had left her alone earlier.

Li Zhizhi, noticing a better target, returned to offer Qin Sirui a packet of tissues, creating a subtle first impression. Wang Chen, overwhelmed by her sadness, did not notice Li Zhizhi's opportunistic move. Qin Sirui walked Wang Chen home, recalling Wang Chen's earlier words about not wanting someone she likes to see her cry. Meanwhile, Miao Yu, having publicly rejected the acquisition of his company, Walnut, received a call from a tearful Wang Chen.

She informed him that Li Zhizhi was cheating. Miao Yu, who perceived Wang Chen in her "Coffee" persona, believed that Coffee wouldn't lie. While he could have ignored her words, his intuition told him it was the truth, even though he was unwilling to accept such a fact, despite previous subtle hints. When Miao Yu asked Wang Chen why "she" was crying if Li Zhizhi was the one cheating, Wang Chen simply said she was unhappy.

He then questioned her for proof, to which she defiantly responded that her own eyes were evidence. Miao Yu expressed difficulty believing her over his girlfriend of two years, but Wang Chen challenged him, pointing out that if he truly believed Li Zhizhi, he wouldn't have sought her out. That evening, Li Zhizhi returned to her apartment to find Miao Yu sitting on the floor in the dark, motionless, in his "Lady Meow" state.

Upon seeing her, Miao Yu immediately noticed a sparkling, new necklace, a different model but the same brand as one he had bought her. He also detected a strong scent of cologne. He then exposed her lie, pointing out that she had claimed to be having afternoon tea with a girlfriend and had even sent him a photo wearing a white sweater, which she was clearly not wearing now.

Li Zhizhi, later confiding in her own cat, Lady Meow, admitted she might have gone too far with Miao Yu, but still felt he was wrong to accuse her of lying. Distraught, Miao Yu called Wang Chen, who, despite her stubborn words, agreed to meet him at Ling Sansan's cafe. She first insisted he apologize for "slandering" her earlier.

At the cafe, Sansan chastised Miao Yu for his reluctance to accept the truth, stating that Li Zhizhi was being unfaithful with obvious evidence. Miao Yu still struggled to believe, asking if circumstantial evidence truly proved betrayal. Sansan warned him that waiting for Li Zhizhi's confession would only lead to him being abandoned. Sansan then proposed a plan to expose Li Zhizhi by having a male persona from a fake WeChat account "flirt" with her.

Miao Yu doubted Li Zhizhi would be interested, but Sansan quickly added Li Zhizhi’s WeChat and, posing as a wealthy businessman who had just returned to China and was staying at the Primus Hotel, invited her to dinner. After some initial hesitation (which Sansan explained as Li Zhizhi "buying time to test sincerity"), Li Zhizhi agreed to the meeting.

Sansan sent screenshots of the conversation to Wang Chen, urging her to learn from them and understand how to deal with "green tea bitches." That evening, Miao Yu went to the designated meeting place, giving Li Zhizhi one last chance to explain. However, Li Zhizhi, who had dressed up for the fake date, was confronted by Miao Yu instead. She brazenly turned the tables, accusing him of neglect and distrust, painting herself as the victim.

After indignantly blaming him for their relationship problems, she left without a trace of regret, leaving Miao Yu deeply disheartened. Wang Chen later shared her date with Qin Sirui with Sansan, expressing concern that Qin Sirui seemed "too perfect." Sansan brushed off her worries, confident that Wang Chen could handle any man. Qin Sirui apologized to Wang Chen for leaving her at the bookstore on their previous date, promising to always be there for her.

He presented her with a "walnut feast" specially created by his chef, Luca, as he knew nuts were good for a designer's brainwork. Wang Chen remembered that this "special person" had delivered 27 takeaways to her before. Qin Sirui then revealed his philosophy on love: like a cherished song, painting, or film, he enjoys observing and waiting, knowing that eventually it will come to him and belong solely to him.

Wang Chen, recalling a past misunderstanding, consciously tried not to close her eyes when Qin Sirui leaned in, but he gently kissed her anyway. Still feeling low, Miao Yu decided not to disturb Wang Chen's date and met her and Sansan the following day at the cafe. Sansan was astonished by Li Zhizhi's advanced "green tea bitch" tactics, where she could turn the tables and accuse Miao Yu after being caught. Miao Yu, still hesitant, asked for advice.

Sansan strongly advised a swift breakup. Despite her friends' counsel, Miao Yu still couldn't let go. He contacted Li Zhizhi again via text, offering her a chance to explain, only to receive a cold breakup message and find himself blocked on WeChat. Miao Yu, heartbroken, waited for Li Zhizhi on her usual route. When he confronted her, he found her to be a complete stranger, arrogant and self-important.

She coldly informed him that their breakup was a "notification, not a discussion," and that breaking up was a "personal thing." She further stated that in a relationship, she only showed him what she wanted him to see, and now that it was over, they were strangers with no need to understand each other. She reiterated that they should never see each other again.

Miao Yu's assistant, Ken, later advised him against pursuing an ex, warning that it would only lead to self-humiliation. Miao Yu, still reeling, asked for tea but specifically rejected "green tea" for "black tea." On a subsequent date, Qin Sirui presented Wang Chen with walnuts, which unexpectedly reminded her of Walnut, and thus Miao Yu. The date itself was lovely, but later, as Qin Sirui dropped her off, he introduced her to a neighbor as merely a "friend."

This instantly brought to mind Aunt Liu's earlier warning about irresponsible men who engage in intimate acts but insist they are "just friends," leaving women confused about their true intentions and how many such "friends" they have. Feeling confused and heartbroken, Wang Chen found Miao Yu sitting despondently on the street. They instantly recognized the shared misery in each other, like a "timid cat and a foolish dog" sitting together.

A passerby, clearing out unsold items before returning home, gave Miao Yu some fireworks. Despite initially feigning disinterest, Miao Yu and Wang Chen ended up lighting the fireworks together, their white lights momentarily cutting through the darkness and their sadness.

Episode 7 Recap

Miao Yu recognized the impending challenge of Double 11, a crucial battle he was determined to win by keeping his emotions in check. He recalled Wang Chen’s mention of Bi Guan and decided to try meeting him. Their initial video call, however, provided little beyond basic information about their shared condition. Miao Yu and Wang Chen reflected on the simplicity of animal happiness, contrasting it with the myriad anxieties that complicate human lives.

Miao Yu then brought up Zhou Xixi’s recent interview profile, advising Wang Chen to prioritize personnel management. Unconcerned, Wang Chen, whose mind was fixated on design, noticed Coffee’s paw prints on Miao Yu’s suit. This unexpected detail sparked an idea for a new design, sending her rushing home to create new clothes. Shortly after Miao Yu’s advice, Wang Chen received news that her employee, Zhou Xixi, was leaving.

Zhou Xixi had secured a position at Walnut’s HR Department and was departing Sunray that very afternoon. She explained to Wang Chen that their work philosophies diverged; Wang Chen was too engrossed in her ideals and designs, even forbidding advertising, which hindered Zhou Xixi’s desire for career achievement. Wang Chen realized Miao Yu’s earlier counsel about employee retention had been accurate. Zhou Xixi was introduced as a new colleague at Walnut.

Miao Yu, who was already there, expressed his displeasure to his manager about the hiring of an employee from Wang Chen’s shop without his prior knowledge. Later, Miao Yu called a company meeting where he apologized for his recent “misbehaviors” and the distress they might have caused, though he couldn’t disclose the exact reasons. He urged his staff to put their phones away, maintain confidentiality, and refocus their energy on work, united in their efforts for Double 11.

Despite his resolve, he visibly struggled to suppress his cat-like mannerisms, twitching and attempting to scratch himself. When an employee offered him coffee, he spilled it, causing the employee to worry about his health. He dismissed her, telling her to leave. Distraught by his uncontrollable cat-like actions, Miao Yu urgently messaged Wang Chen, asking her to meet him immediately at her apartment. Meanwhile, Ray, who was scheduled to pick Wang Chen up for a concert, also texted her.

Wang Chen, after curling her hair slightly, hurried to meet Miao Yu first. When Miao Yu arrived, he was still exhibiting cat-like behaviors. Wang Chen used a feather toy to distract him, a method she usually employed with Lady Meow. Ray then arrived at Wang Chen’s apartment. Miao Yu’s awkward and twitchy demeanor led Ray to mistakenly believe he was Wang Chen’s “ladybro,” a cover Wang Chen quickly embraced due to the confidentiality agreement regarding their condition.

With the date effectively canceled, Ray, understanding but disappointed, left the concert tickets for them and departed. Miao Yu then demanded Wang Chen replace his feather toy. The next day, Miao Yu and Wang Chen met Bi Guan at Ling Sansan’s café. Before Bi Guan entered, he was overheard criticizing the cafe's reliance on "pseudo-science" like astrology and crystals, and disparaging the owner for profiting from "idiots." Ling Sansan, the actual owner, was furious.

Bi Guan then entered, dressed in a blue suit. Ling Sansan flashed back to a childhood prophecy of her Mr. Right being a man in a blue suit with a pink handkerchief. Coincidentally, as Bi Guan spilled coffee on himself, he pulled out a pink handkerchief—the exact color from her prophecy. Overwhelmed, Ling Sansan reacted with visible agitation. During their consultation, Bi Guan clarified that he needed their personal information, not their pets’.

He added them to a group chat for others affected by the comet, advising them to trust science and undergo treatment. Wang Chen found the process to be suspiciously similar to a pyramid scheme. Later, as they drove home, Wang Chen confessed her doubts about running her own business, feeling she wasn't suited for it, especially after losing Zhou Xixi. Miao Yu countered that her self-doubt was a form of avoidance.

He encouraged her to step out of her comfort zone, learn new management skills, and relentlessly pursue her dream of owning a brand, emphasizing that she would never know if she could succeed unless she tried. Inspired by Miao Yu’s words, Wang Chen returned to her shop and began a new round of hiring.

However, she found all the applicants unsuitable, from those who thought design should be "colorful and splendid" to those more interested in their girlfriends in nearby supermarkets, or simply seeking autographs from "Lady Ugly" (Wang Chen's nickname in some circles). Exhausted, Wang Chen realized her new design draft had gone missing. Without much thought, she simply redrew it. Unbeknownst to her, her original design had accidentally become mixed with Zhou Xixi’s rejected submissions at Walnut.

During a design review, Wang Chen's draft fell out, drawing praise from Miao Yu. Zhou Xixi, recognizing the design, silently accepted the credit. A few days later, Ling Sansan, still fuming about Bi Guan, obtained his WeChat contact from Wang Chen. She immediately initiated an "academic discussion" with him, confronting him about his blue suit and pink handkerchief. Bi Guan, however, quickly deduced her identity through Wang Chen and instructed her to respect the confidentiality agreement.

Meanwhile, Wang Chen received a stack of management books. Unsure if Miao Yu had sent them, she posted a picture on her social media, inadvertently reigniting the debate between Ling Sansan and Bi Guan. Their argument about astrology versus science quickly escalated in her comments section. Surprisingly, Ling Sansan and Bi Guan later arranged to meet for dinner. They ordered the exact same dishes, including nutritious bullfrog and tiramisu, leading the waitress to comment on their uncanny "telepathy."

While they dismissed it as a mere coincidence of taste, Ling Sansan did point out that "tiramisu" means "take me away right now" in Italian. Their meal quickly devolved into another spirited argument about scientific logic versus the "art" of astrology, and of course, Bi Guan's "pink handkerchief." Despite their constant bickering, they seemed to enjoy their peculiar debates.

Episode 8 Recap

Ling Sansan and Bi Guan were heavily intoxicated at a restaurant, where Ling Sansan passionately lectured on the scientific rigor and the unreliability of astrology, while Bi Guan's thoughts drifted to what movie to watch next. Despite their disparate topics, their conversation flowed. They were together to test Ling Sansan's astrological predictions, specifically about her "good luck in love," which Bi Guan vehemently doubted as the ten-minute deadline approached.

To prove her astrology accurate, Ling Sansan spontaneously grabbed Bi Guan's collar and kissed him. As Bi Guan processed what happened, his first thought was about the reciprocal nature of forces, which then gave him a reason to actively savor the moment. Miao Yu, having transformed back into Lady Meow, slept through the day. He only realized it wasn't the early morning when a delivery person knocked, asking for "Mr. Meow" and mentioning it was 1 AM.

Luckily, considerate colleagues had postponed his meeting to 3 PM, granting him a temporary reprieve. News spread online that Walnut had launched a new product identical to Sunray's. While Sunray's design was professionally superior in detail and quality, Walnut had published theirs first. This intriguing development caught Coli's attention, as her employees debated which company truly owned the design, noting that Walnut typically focused on price over originality.

Receiving an angry call from Wang Chen, Miao Yu realized the severity of the situation. However, he had an important meeting and could only ask her to wait for his response. Wang Chen, already fuming from online comments suggesting she was the copycat, was further agitated by her neighbor, Aunt Liu. Aunt Liu arrived at Sunray, admiring the clothes and asking Wang Chen to help her choose a dress.

Noticing Wang Chen's distress, Aunt Liu pressed her about her low spirits, to which Wang Chen confessed that people accused her of plagiarism. Aunt Liu, knowing Wang Chen was the owner and a talented designer, warned her that such accusations could ruin her career, suggesting that the "friend" might have deliberately tried to sabotage her. Filled with suspicion that Miao Yu might have orchestrated the whole thing, Wang Chen transformed into Coffee and stormed into Walnut.

Mid-meeting, Wang Chen burst in, demanding an explanation. The board members, witnessing the disruption, assumed Miao Yu was embroiled in a personal relationship issue, which only increased their dissatisfaction with him. Despite Miao Yu's attempts to calm her and usher her out, he transformed into Lady Meow. During the ongoing meeting, Lady Meow, unable to resist his feline instincts, leaped onto the projector screen, chasing the laser pointer.

The meeting immediately dissolved in chaos, with profound negative consequences for Miao Yu. Later, Wang Chen, still enraged at home, anxiously awaited Miao Yu's explanation. Her anger subsided abruptly when she opened her door to find Ray, who comforted her and helped shift her focus. Meanwhile, Miao Yu had already confronted Zhou Xixi, who admitted to the plagiarism. When Miao Yu later discussed the situation with Wang Chen, Wang Chen surprisingly wished to de-escalate it.

Free from Coffee's emotional influence, she chose forgiveness, unwilling to ruin Zhou Xixi's career, and calmly addressed the earlier misunderstanding with Miao Yu, even apologizing for her previous outburst. Miao Yu believed that Wang Chen's leniency amounted to an admission of guilt, thus he suggested financial compensation for Sunray's loss. But Wang Chen, valuing her artistic integrity over public opinion or profit, asserted that her reputation and public image were unimportant to her.

She simply believed that as long as she could design beautiful clothes, she could disregard any negative factors. Even if Wang Chen was indifferent to the financial loss, Miao Yu refused to let her bear it alone. He covertly hired Aunt Liu's grandson, Yangyang, to purchase all of Wang Chen's doggy sweaters. Although naive, Wang Chen was not foolish; she quickly deduced that Miao Yu was the secret buyer.

Pretending to be Coffee, she excitedly went to Miao Yu’s apartment to thank him, feeling that expressing her gratitude was easier while in her Coffee persona. Miao Yu, however, quickly realized she was merely acting, noting her normal breathing and coherent speech, which was uncharacteristic of Coffee. Wang Chen admitted she pretended because she was too embarrassed to thank him as herself, having just realized how poorly her clothes were selling.

Miao Yu explained that her store's location, targeting price-sensitive customers, combined with her lack of marketing and mismatched product positioning, meant her beautiful designs were "unseen" rather than "disliked." Wang Chen acknowledged his points, mentioning that the business books he sent her had already broadened her perspective. Meanwhile, Ling Sansan and Bi Guan, despite their earlier drunken antics and scientific-astrological clashes, continued their peculiar relationship. They met up to play video games.

During their game, they argued about whose strategy was better, with Bi Guan stating that women might be stubborn in speech but "give up soon." Ling Sansan retorted that she was thinking of moves while he was slow. Their arguments about the lethality of characters and scientific research continued until the arcade owner announced they were closing. Despite their constant disagreements, they were surprisingly compatible, their quarrels often resolved by a kiss.

Episode 9 Recap

Qin Sirui orchestrated an elaborate proposal for Wang Chen, reserving his entire restaurant for her alone. The setting was exquisite, with "Por Una Cabeza" playing softly and a menu specially designed around the theme "Sunray." Qin Sirui explained that the dishes represented 27 cherished moments they had shared, chronicled like entries in a journal.

He revealed that even a dish named "Allegory of Spring" was inspired by their first encounter, where he remembered her looking beautiful yet flurried in a vintage nightgown. Expressing his desire for their future to be as lovely as their first meeting, he asked Wang Chen to cross "Por Una Cabeza" and become his girlfriend, to which she joyfully agreed.

After their dinner, Qin Sirui accompanied Wang Chen to deliver medicine to her best friend, Ling Sansan, who was battling a bad cold. Sansan, still a bit under the weather, playfully complained about her male friends, especially Bi Guan, for their unhelpful social media reactions to her illness. She then eagerly questioned Wang Chen about her date, and Qin Sirui proudly confirmed that Wang Chen was now his girlfriend.

Sansan, delighted, instructed Qin Sirui to cherish Wang Chen like "world heritage." Despite Wang Chen's desire to stay and care for her friend, Sansan insisted they leave, claiming she felt much better. Shortly after their departure, Bi Guan arrived, awkwardly claiming he was "just passing by" after running errands, though the expensive medicine he carried suggested otherwise. Sansan confronted him about his confusing social media "like," leading to a humorous, muddled explanation from Bi Guan.

Embarrassed by her red nose, Sansan told him not to look, but Bi Guan, in his direct yet clumsy way, seized the moment and proposed they "talk about love." Later that evening, Sansan rushed to Wang Chen's apartment, excitedly recounting Bi Guan's unexpected proposal and her new status as "Blue suit and pink handkerchief's" girlfriend.

Wang Chen, after congratulations, shared her own news, and the two friends were thrilled to discover they had both been proposed to on the same night. They toasted to their "synchronized love." However, Wang Chen's joy was tempered by worries about Qin Sirui's mother, whom she described as a "tough mother-in-law" who had previously spied on them. Sansan suggested her situation was simpler since Bi Guan didn't have such a formidable mother, asserting her seriousness about their relationship.

Before Sansan left, Wang Chen reminded her to keep taking her medicine. Meanwhile, Qin Sirui returned home to find his mother still awake, who immediately confronted him about closing his restaurant for the day. She quickly deduced his proposal to Wang Chen and disdainfully referred to Wang Chen as "the tailor with a cat," despite Qin Sirui's correction that she was a designer.

Despite her disapproval, she surprisingly instructed him to invite Wang Chen to her upcoming birthday party, making it clear it was a one-time allowance. Qin Sirui coolly agreed and retired to his room, highlighting the distant and emotionally detached nature of their mother-son relationship. At Walnut, workers were secretly attempting to install a new signboard bearing the name "Antong," signifying an impending acquisition. Miao Yu, working late, intervened and asserted his authority as the company's boss, sending the decorators away.

Whispers among his colleagues confirmed the rumors, citing a three-hour meeting between Mr. Hao of Antong and Mr. He, suggesting a change of ownership was imminent. Struggling with extreme sleepiness, a side effect of his recent transformation into Lady Meow, Miao Yu accidentally spilled coffee on his shirt. Despite a cleaner's offer to help, he dismissively suggested he would take off his shirt later.

Desperate for a solution to his constant fatigue, Miao Yu called Wang Chen, playfully asking if Lady Meow also got sleepy around numbers. He then asked for anything that could act as a stimulant for a cat, similar to coffee for humans. Wang Chen suggested catnip, cautioning that while effective, the reaction could be quite "violent." Miao Yu abruptly hung up before she could finish explaining. Soon after, an urgent package arrived for him.

He took it to the bathroom, opened it, and inhaled the catnip, leading to a bizarre scene where he contentedly sprawled amidst shredded toilet paper and scattered plant leaves, much to the shock of the cleaning lady who discovered him. Returning to a meeting, Miao Yu almost immediately dozed off, alarming his colleagues who initially feared he had died, before realizing he was merely deeply asleep.

Qin Sirui arrived to pick up Wang Chen from her struggling clothing store, where she had been practicing marketing skills. He offered his unwavering support if her business became too arduous. Back at Wang Chen's apartment, she noticed Qin Sirui's persistent avoidance of Lady Meow and questioned if he disliked her cat. He confessed he was allergic to cat fur, explaining he had never owned a pet or visited friends who did.

Concerned for his well-being, Wang Chen quickly isolated Lady Meow in the bathroom, apologizing to her pet. A doctor later confirmed to Qin Sirui that cat allergies could range from minor to life-threatening and advised him to avoid contact with cats. Wang Chen, feeling guilty, apologized for having Lady Meow, but Qin Sirui reassured her it was his allergy, not her cat, that was the issue. She then suggested they meet outside her home to prevent future allergic reactions.

Wang Chen, however, immediately realized the deeper implications: if their relationship progressed to marriage, they would inevitably need to live together. This presented a heartbreaking dilemma, as Lady Meow, a cherished companion for many years, would effectively be abandoned if she chose Qin Sirui. Meanwhile, Bi Guan took Ling Sansan on their first date, dressed formally and confessing it was his first romantic experience, a sentiment Sansan shared.

He presented her with a gift, asking her to open it at home. At a planetarium, Bi Guan passionately explained Frank Drake's equation and his childhood dream of becoming an astrophysicist. Sansan countered with her own aspiration to use astrology to empower people, playfully dismissing science as "unromantic" and "stubborn." She teased him about feeling like she was on a date with an "astrophysics tutor" instead of a romantic boyfriend.

Bi Guan then offered her the gift, a necklace symbolizing C60, a form of carbon. He explained that carbon is the fundamental element of all life, and just as carbon endures even if the world perishes, his love for her would always remain. He apologized for the unconventional date, promising a different kind of outing next time, leaving Sansan touched by his unique romantic gesture. Later, Miao Yu contacted Mr. He, arranging an urgent face-to-face meeting at a bar.

There, Miao Yu forcefully stated his refusal to allow Antong to acquire Walnut, declaring, "Walnut is mine." As he was leaving, he unexpectedly encountered Zhou Song, who was with Li Zhizhi. Zhou Song, after a brief exchange about Miao Yu's "air hostess" girlfriend, introduced Li Zhizhi as his current girlfriend. Miao Yu pulled Li Zhizhi aside, reminding her of their first meeting—a car accident where she had offered to pay for damages or treat him to dinner.

He warned her that Zhou Song was "not a reliable man." Li Zhizhi coldly retorted that she didn't seek reliability, only money to achieve a better life, adding that she had never liked Miao Yu and told him to stop bothering her. Miao Yu realized Li Zhizhi had been involved with several men since their separation and that her initial "accident" might have been a calculated move to find a wealthy partner.

Back at her apartment, Wang Chen suddenly experienced familiar symptoms—dizziness, nausea, and lightheadedness—indicating her "Coffee" personality was resurfacing. When Qin Sirui called, offering to pick her up for a date the next day, she hesitantly agreed, inwardly dreading the possibility of showing up in her altered state. Realizing she couldn't face Qin Sirui as "Coffee," she impulsively decided to seek out Miao Yu.

Episode 10 Recap

Wang Chen, now dating Qin Sirui, found herself in a dilemma as Qin Sirui confessed his allergy to cat fur. The Chinese plot implies that choosing to be with Qin Sirui long-term meant effectively giving up Lady Meow. She considered finding someone to temporarily care for Lady Meow, quickly dismissing Ling Sansan as too careless.

Her mind then turned to Miao Yu, and she decided to invoke the first condition of their agreement: asking him to take care of her cat. Wang Chen brought all of Lady Meow's belongings to Miao Yu's apartment. She meticulously explained Lady Meow's habits, diet, and preferences, even providing a special gift for Miao Yu's own cat, Coffee. Unconsciously, Wang Chen found herself seeking Miao Yu's help whenever she encountered trouble or unhappiness.

As she gave instructions, she recounted how she first adopted Lady Meow: she found the tiny kitten being bullied in a pet store and, on an impulse, bought her for 5,000 yuan, promising they would always protect each other from harm. Miao Yu assured her he would care for Lady Meow, noting the contrasting roles they played for their pets: Coffee guarded him, while Wang Chen had always guarded Lady Meow.

Meanwhile, a jobless Wang Chen, feeling down, observed the success of the "Walnut" brand, admiring its quality and affordability despite its modest designs. This inspired her to re-evaluate her own business, "Richen," and consider launching an online store. Later, Qin Sirui invited Wang Chen to his mother's birthday party at his restaurant. He gave her some stylish brand gifts, originally intended for his mother but too modern for her taste.

Wang Chen mentioned she needed to drop Lady Meow off at a friend's that evening, politely declining Qin Sirui's offer to drive her. Qin Sirui then used the opportunity to confess his cat fur allergy, apologizing for the inconvenience it caused. Bi Guan, having gathered everyone in their support group at Ling Sansan’s restaurant, shared an exciting discovery. He found that after the previous comet incident, a lunar eclipse had occurred, and some people's animal-related conditions had disappeared.

He proposed that they actively try to reverse their own transformations during the next lunar eclipse on November 22nd. The group was ecstatic about the prospect of returning to normal. However, when asked if the comet had brought only negative impacts, Miao Yu and Wang Chen exchanged a knowing glance, both quietly denying it. Ling Sansan, on the other hand, was annoyed with Bi Guan.

He refused to tell her his precise birth time, which she wanted for a "fate analysis." He dismissed her astrological interests, claiming he didn't remember and instead presented her with a flashing glass rose, a gift he'd been advised by colleagues to give for romance. Ling Sansan found the gift tacky and left to pick up inventory for her restaurant.

While on the phone with Bi Guan, playfully pretending to still be angry, Ling Sansan was suddenly hit by a motorbike, abruptly ending their call. Frantic, Bi Guan posted an urgent plea in their group chat, asking everyone to help find her. Miao Yu suggested posting a missing person alert on Walnut’s official social media, knowing its wide reach. The notice quickly led Bi Guan to a hospital.

There, a nurse mistakenly informed him about a "Lin Sansan" (confusing the pronunciation with Ling Sansan) in critical condition requiring emergency surgery. Bi Guan, in desperation, claimed to be her fiancé to authorize the procedure. To his immense relief, he soon discovered his Ling Sansan was merely in line to get a bandage for a minor scrape on her arm, while the critical "Lin Sansan" was a woman in labor.

Overhearing his desperate search, Ling Sansan felt a surge of tenderness and security, appreciating his concern. That night, as they sat on a park bench, Bi Guan finally revealed his birth time to Ling Sansan. He confessed the depth of his panic, realizing he couldn't bear the thought of losing her. Ling Sansan playfully chided him for lying about being her fiancé, but he then genuinely reaffirmed his desire to take responsibility for her and become her actual fiancé.

He then launched into an elaborate proposal, tracing the universe's origin from the Big Bang to their fated meeting billions of years later, asking her to "add warmth to the universe" with him. Ling Sansan, amused, urged him to "speak plainly," so he directly asked her to marry him. She playfully critiqued his standing proposal, then his deep, two-kneed posture, reminding him that one knee was customary. He humbly admitted his inexperience, and she accepted.

Filled with newfound peace and a spontaneous "woman in love" spirit, Ling Sansan eagerly planned her wedding. She asked Wang Chen to be her bridesmaid. Though Wang Chen gently questioned the speed of their decision, Ling Sansan was resolute. Meanwhile, Bi Guan asked Miao Yu to be his groomsman, gratefully offering him "the universe" in return for his help finding Ling Sansan.

Miao Yu, ever the practical CEO, initially discussed his busy schedule but agreed, reflecting on the deeper meaning of the comet's influence. He acknowledged that it had brought both challenges and unexpected positive changes, such as Wang Chen becoming more open and himself broadening his focus beyond work, even demonstrating more humanity towards his employees during the demanding Double 11 period.

On the wedding day, Bi Guan, true to his word, had decorated the venue with numerous items from the "Walnut" brand. The friends chatted, with Wang Chen announcing her plans to launch an online store. Her "patient" friends eagerly offered their services: Hamster Mengmeng, a photographer, offered to work for snacks, and Frog Prince, an aspiring actor, offered to model and teach posing. Qin Sirui arrived, greeting everyone.

Miao Yu quickly ushered the other "patient" friends away from Qin Sirui, explaining that Qin Sirui was unaware of their animal-linked conditions and they needed to avoid any sudden transformations. The friends remarked that Miao Yu seemed to understand Wang Chen even better than Qin Sirui did, highlighting his deep care for her. Ling Sansan and Bi Guan exchanged their heartfelt vows, pledging eternal love and loyalty before sealing their union with a kiss.

Episode 11 Recap

Ling Sansan celebrated her happiest day, marrying her Mr. Right after eight years of waiting. She reminisced about past friendships that faded, noting that only Wang Chen remained by her side through everything, sharing both joy and sorrow. Acknowledging that Wang Chen was half of her happiness, Ling Sansan presented her with the bridal bouquet, wishing her best friend lasting happiness with her own destined Mr. Right.

Wang Chen accepted the bouquet, momentarily dreaming of her own wedding and asking Qin Sirui for advice. He simply encouraged her to be herself. As Wang Chen prepared for Qin Sirui’s mother's birthday party, she discovered Qin Sirui’s medical record. It clearly stated he was allergic to cabbage mustard, not cat fur, directly contradicting his previous claims. Feeling deceived, she resolved to confront him at the party. The birthday celebration was held at Qin Sirui’s Rinascite Canteen.

His mother delivered a welcoming speech, highlighting her son’s new venture. Wang Chen arrived, offering her birthday wishes and a gift to Qin Sirui’s mother. Wang Chen then pulled Qin Sirui aside and directly questioned him about the medical record. He admitted to the lie, explaining that his parents' divorce was due to his father's affair with a cat-owning woman, which made his mother unable to accept any woman with a cat.

Qin Sirui knew that Wang Chen would not part with her beloved Lady Meow otherwise, and he desperately wanted to be with her, even if it meant being selfish. He asked Wang Chen to understand and try to enter his world. The party atmosphere turned hostile as other guests began to mock Wang Chen's appearance and background. They recognized her from an old online broadcast, calling her "Lady Ugly."

While the "real" Wang Chen might have endured such humiliation, her assertive alter-ego, "Coffee," would not. Enraged, Wang Chen snatched a guest’s phone and threw it. Qin Sirui apologized on her behalf, but the guest insisted on a personal apology from Wang Chen. With deep humiliation, Wang Chen muttered an apology, then, provoked further, repeated it loudly. Qin Sirui's mother intervened, dismissing Wang Chen as delusional. Overwhelmed, Wang Chen expressed her feelings to Qin Sirui.

She questioned her place in his world, citing her inability to keep Lady Meow, her discomfort in designer clothes and high heels, her lack of international experience, her painstaking efforts to learn Western dining etiquette, and her careful work on a jacket for him, fearing he would dislike it. She told him that she had nothing left but her pride.

When he still asked her to be his girlfriend, Wang Chen realized that she valued being herself more than liking him. Declaring she was not Cinderella, she returned her high heels and decided to leave. As she walked away, Qin Sirui’s mother publicly humiliated her further, emphasizing the vast social gap between them and demanding another apology. Wang Chen, utterly defeated, apologized once more.

Qin Sirui tried to follow her, but his mother stopped him, creating an obstacle that prevented him from reaching her when she stumbled. Miao Yu, who had been present and witnessed the entire distressing scene, stepped forward and helped her leave. Wang Chen felt that everything that had happened was like a dream, and it was only the unfinished jacket she was making for Qin Sirui that made it feel real.

Back at the Rinascite Canteen, a dejected Qin Sirui confided in Luca, saying his relationship with Wang Chen felt as though it had ended before it even began. His mother then presented him with a photo of Miao Yu assisting Wang Chen, twisting the narrative to portray Miao Yu as suspiciously close to Wang Chen and as an opportunistic online company boss who had recently broken up with his own girlfriend.

This reinforced Qin Sirui's mother's disapproval, suggesting Wang Chen was not a suitable partner for him. Meanwhile, Ling Sansan frantically called Miao Yu, worried because Wang Chen had disappeared all day, her phone off. Miao Yu found Wang Chen sitting outside his apartment building in the heavy rain, distraught and convinced she had lost everything. Miao Yu confronted her grief, reminding her that she still had her friends, her company Sunray, Lady Meow, and him.

He urged her not to let one person's departure negate her entire world. Despite Ling Sansan and Bi Guan's best efforts to console her, Wang Chen remained despondent. It was Miao Yu sending her pictures of Lady Meow and Coffee that finally brought a smile back to her face, reigniting her joy at the thought of bringing Lady Meow home. Wang Chen visited Miao Yu's home to pick up Lady Meow.

She was surprised to find him there, not at work, and discovered he was running a fever, indicating he had taken sick leave. She stayed to care for him. Later, Miao Yu awoke to find Wang Chen asleep, exhausted from caring for him. He left a thoughtful, encouraging note in her bag before quietly observing her. Wang Chen later read his message, reflecting on his words about love being a small part of life and the importance of moving forward.

Inspired, she resolved to start anew with Lady Meow. She noticed Lady Meow's nails were trimmed and how much the cat missed Coffee, finding Miao Yu unexpectedly considerate. Wang Chen embraced Miao Yu's advice, actively working to market her brand, Sunray. She began setting up her first online store, receiving help from fellow patient friends with photography and modeling. Constantly busy, she frequently called Miao Yu for business advice.

Ling Sansan observed Wang Chen's rapid recovery and positive transformation with happiness, noticing subtle changes in her friend. As the anticipated date of November 22nd approached, everyone was confident that the upcoming lunar eclipse would restore them to normal. Wang Chen’s message in the patient group, expressing her eagerness for the "accidents" caused by the comet to finally end, deeply disturbed Miao Yu. Under their confidentiality agreement, returning to normal meant severing ties.

He found himself unexpectedly upset by her excitement, realizing he cared deeply about her as a friend. Qin Sirui, still struggling with his feelings, drove to Wang Chen’s apartment building. However, he saw Miao Yu enter the building, fueling his misunderstanding about Wang Chen and Miao Yu’s relationship, and he drove away. Miao Yu had come to talk to Wang Chen, reflecting on his earlier harsh words.

He offered to put aside his usual concern for his image and, if she wished to reconcile with Ray, would call Bi Guan to help him explain everything to Qin Sirui.

Episode 12 Recap

After their previous disagreement, Miao Yu reiterated his offer to help Wang Chen reconcile with Qin Rui. He explained that he was willing to clarify their unique situation to Qin Rui with the help of Bi Guan, suggesting it might lead to their reunion. Wang Chen, however, expressed concern about the confidentiality agreement they had signed and its potential impact on Miao Yu.

He brushed off her worries, stating that telling only Qin Rui wouldn’t be an issue since he wasn't in their industry. Miao Yu confidently added that he was sure to win the upcoming Double 11, so he wasn't afraid. Wang Chen playfully called him a "bighead," which he heard and retorted, advising her to be grateful.

The next day, Wang Chen called Miao Yu, admitting that while she wasn't "giving up," she acknowledged the significant difference between business theory and practice. After hanging up, Miao Yu grinned foolishly at the phone. Miao Yu, still on duty, invited her to visit his company, Hu Tao, on the night of November 10th to experience their collective positive energy firsthand.

Wang Chen cautiously agreed, wondering if his colleagues might confront her, but Miao Yu assured her they would be too busy to notice, and no one would bother her. They both agreed to the plan. Later, Miao Yu confided in an employee, describing a friend's strange symptoms: feeling empty without a certain person but anxious and emotionally volatile when with them. The employee insightfully concluded that his friend was likely falling in love, a suggestion Miao Yu immediately dismissed.

On November 10th, Wang Chen arrived at Hu Tao. Miao Yu led her to his office, which contained a bed he used when working overnight. He told her she could stay there if she wanted to be alone, assuring her no one would enter without his permission. Wang Chen, looking around, remarked on the high position of his office and the immense pressure he must feel. Miao Yu explained that for entrepreneurs, pressure was as constant as daily meals.

He then took her to a hidden vantage point, calling it the "real battlefield," so she could observe the entire work process without being noticed. He left her there to attend to his duties. Meanwhile, Zhou Xixi approached Wang Chen, sincerely apologizing for a past incident involving a dog sweater design. Wang Chen graciously accepted, assuring Xixi that she had never doubted her integrity.

She acknowledged that Xixi's past words had prompted her own self-reflection, leading to her recent personal growth. Wang Chen expressed happiness that Xixi had found a career she loved, and they both pledged to support each other in their future endeavors. Shortly after, a colleague asked Xixi for help updating an activity page, but Xixi, being new to graphic design, was hesitant about the tight deadline. Wang Chen offered her assistance.

Miao Yu then appeared, initially referring to Wang Chen as "Lady Ugly," but quickly correcting himself and instructing his employee to call her Wang Chen. He welcomed her to his "battlefield." As the clock ticked towards midnight on Double 11, the atmosphere at Hu Tao was charged with intense activity. Miao Yu meticulously managed every aspect, directing Liu Tan to send sales reports, Haipeng to track coupons and cart data, and Sun Na to monitor inventory.

He swiftly approved an additional 500,000 RMB for paid promotions and dispatched Zhou Xin to find Fang Liang. He also adjusted inventory levels based on coupon conversion rates and urged Xiaoyu to closely supervise key opinion leaders and live streamers. When a supply chain issue arose due to insufficient fabric, Miao Yu immediately instructed his team to contact suppliers in Keqiao District.

Miao Yu rallied his team with a motivational speech, emphasizing that Hu Tao's destiny would be determined that day and expressing immense pride in their achievements. The sales numbers on the large screen soared, reaching 19. 8 million RMB. At precisely midnight, the sales officially breached the 20 million RMB mark, erupting cheers and jubilant celebrations throughout the office.

An employee announced that it was 1:01 AM on November 11th, and Hu Tao had climbed three ranks in the industry, hitting 20 million RMB eight hours earlier than the previous year, with total sales projected to quadruple. The team joyfully began planning their victory celebration. However, their triumph was short-lived. Almost immediately, reports of mass returns poured in, starting from Shanghai and quickly spreading to all other regions.

Employees were in a state of panic as they discovered that unauthorized, excessive coupons (offering 100 RMB off for every 200 RMB spent) had been added to Hu Tao’s main page, drastically lowering prices. This meant customers were canceling their original orders to repurchase at the cheaper rates, a move that would lead to catastrophic financial losses for Hu Tao. Realizing it was an "inside job," Miao Yu rushed to the operations department, only to find it completely deserted.

An employee confirmed that the entire team had silently vacated through the emergency exits. Miao Yu desperately tried to call someone, but the call failed, reminding him of a past warning about losing his job if Double 11 failed. Overwhelmed, he instructed everyone to go home, declaring that Double 11 was over and their efforts were wasted. Later, in his office, Miao Yu spoke with Wang Chen, expressing regret that she had witnessed a "farce" instead of an inspiring lesson.

He admitted he had anticipated foul play but was shocked by the ruthlessness of the perpetrators, who had even compromised Hu Tao's reputation. Miao Yu reflected on his life philosophy of never having a fallback plan, believing that a life without retreat would lack excitement. He had always believed in the power of hard work and ability, questioning why he had ultimately suffered such a devastating defeat.

He assured Wang Chen he would be fine and asked for some time alone with Hu Tao. Facing the inevitable, Miao Yu signed the acquisition contract, understanding that his vote held no power against the board's decision, as outlined in the third term of the agreement. He saw Mr. He's unwavering resolve and, having already prepared his resignation letter, submitted it.

The acquired Hu Tao was no longer the ideal he had strived for, and he believed his departure was the best way to protect his years of hard work and the welfare of his employees. His colleagues were deeply saddened by his resignation. Miao Yu addressed them in a heartfelt farewell speech, acknowledging he wasn't a perfect boss and attributing Hu Tao's success to their collective efforts.

He thanked them and urged them to continue living and working well, entrusting Hu Tao's future to them. He offered personal advice to several employees: reminding Ken not to overwork, approving a promotion for another who needed to improve her presentation skills, and expressing gratitude to Sun Na for her dedication. He also announced that he had arranged for a year of weekly traditional Chinese medicine physical therapy for all employees to address their sub-healthy conditions from overwork.

As he calmly walked out of the office at 9 AM for the last time, his employees shouted, "Walnut strives for the best!" The moment he stepped out the door, Miao Yu silently cried. Outside, Mr. He met him, and Miao Yu, accepting his loss, thanked him for the opportunity. He made a final plea for Mr. He to treat Hu Tao and its employees well, to which Mr. He coldly replied that they were "no longer your employees."

Later, Wang Chen's online store was gaining popularity, with customers referring to her as "Lady Ugly" and requesting live streams. However, her former colleague Zhou Xixi called, revealing that Wang Chen had intervened with Miao Yu to prevent legal action against Xixi for the past dog sweater incident. Xixi then informed a shocked Wang Chen that Miao Yu had resigned that very day, believing he was deliberately set up.

Deeply concerned, Wang Chen immediately closed her shop, despite customer protests, and rushed to Miao Yu's apartment. She frantically knocked on his door, calling his name, and in her panicked state, imagined him contemplating suicide. She tearfully convinced the property management to open his door, citing a life-or-death emergency. Upon entering, Wang Chen and the property manager were met with the sight of Miao Yu shirtless, wearing yellow shorts with a dog print, and dancing with headphones on.

Both screamed, startling Miao Yu, who demanded to know why they were in his house. The property manager, mistakenly calling Wang Chen his "girlfriend," explained her concern. Miao Yu quickly denied they were a couple, but the manager pointed out Wang Chen's visible tears. The property manager then left, advising Miao Yu to get dressed. Wang Chen stayed, and Miao Yu playfully accused her of faking tears, which she denied, insisting her acting was just good.

She admitted her genuine worry, especially after hearing he had resigned. Miao Yu, unfazed, explained he had simply been bathing, playing games, and listening to music. He revealed he had chosen to leave Hu Tao to protect the company and its employees from further harm, as the instigators were clearly targeting him. He viewed this setback as a heaven-sent opportunity to pause and reflect on the aspects of life he had missed.

Although he hadn't decided on his next steps, Miao Yu was good at self-regulation. Wang Chen expressed surprise at his resilience. He continued to tease her about her concern, which she again attributed to her "coffee" caring for him. Wang Chen expressed hope that the upcoming lunar eclipse experiment would restore them to normal, adding that it wasn't impossible for him to make a comeback. She encouraged him that "everything will be all right."

He acknowledged her words, and she departed, reminding him not to catch a cold. Later, Miao Yu's former employees reflected on his departure, noting his social media cover change and realizing how much he truly cared for them. Mr. He, now in charge, walked by, observing their conversation. On the day of the lunar eclipse, Miao Yu and Wang Chen met at their designated spot.

Wang Chen complimented his outfit, which she had chosen, leading to playful banter about their fashion sense. They both wondered if the experiment would succeed, but decided to try regardless. Miao Yu, however, felt a sense of loss at the thought of returning to normal if the experiment succeeded.

Episode 13 Recap

On the day of the lunar eclipse, Miao Yu and Wang Chen arrived at the designated rooftop, their matching clothes chosen by Wang Chen making them look like a couple. They were joined by Bi Guan and Ling Sansan, who had met downstairs. Ling Sansan emphasized her crucial role in helping Dr. Bi prepare the experiment. Bi Guan explained that if the experiment succeeded, they would forget everything that happened during their animal interlocking period, essentially "formatting" their memories.

He advised them to record any important recent events or password changes on their phones. Before starting, he instructed them to wear sensors so he could monitor their brainwave changes. As the lunar eclipse approached, Bi Guan suggested they each make a wish. Ling Sansan wished to stop being gluttonous and lose weight. Fang Xun, a third participant, wished to become a real actor with more than three lines.

Wang Chen wished that even if they became strangers, she and Miao Yu could meet again as normal people and become friends. Miao Yu, after some hesitation, wished that Coffee would be forever happy, even without him. As the countdown ended and the eclipse passed, there were no visible changes. To test the experiment's success, Wang Chen bravely volunteered. Bi Guan played a video featuring "Lady Ugly," but Wang Chen initially showed no reaction.

Everyone began to celebrate, believing the experiment worked, but Wang Chen suddenly crouched down, crying angrily, "I’m not Lady Ugly!" The experiment had failed, leaving everyone disheartened. Miao Yu gently patted Wang Chen's head and comforted her, quickly calming her down. After the failed experiment, everyone started to leave. Bi Guan suggested they all squeeze into one car, but Ling Sansan quickly intervened, claiming she had "divined it" that there wasn't enough room.

She dragged Bi Guan away, leaving Miao Yu and Wang Chen to take another car, ensuring they had time alone. Later, Miao Yu and Wang Chen shared a late-night supper. Miao Yu reflected that despite the setback, starting over was always possible if they chose to let go of their fixations. He now had more experience and felt no fear, having started with nothing before.

Wang Chen mentioned her online store was doing well, with many repeat customers, and she felt happy to be recognized. They agreed that many things were just their own obsessions, and they could always begin anew if they were determined. Just then, the owner brought them free barbecue, reinforcing their belief in a brighter tomorrow. The next morning, Bi Guan visited Miao Yu early, knocking rather than calling because Miao Yu's phone was dead.

He was checking for any unusual physical or emotional changes from the experiment. Miao Yu was still groggy, wanting to "sleep again," and dismissed Bi Guan, saying he planned to play a game when he woke up. Bi Guan criticized him, saying the Miao Yu he knew wouldn't become so dejected after one failure, staying home playing games. This prompted Miao Yu to pull out a "Proposal for Personal Clothing Business," asking if Bi Guan was satisfied.

Miao Yu admitted he hadn't fully thought out how to rise again. Bi Guan also asked about Miao Yu's brainwave anomaly from the previous night, but Miao Yu brushed it off. Bi Guan then mentioned he was going to help Wang Chen move items from her shop with Ling Sansan. When Bi Guan arrived at Sunray, Wang Chen's shop, she expressed surprise he was there, explaining she didn't want to bother him with her decision to close the physical store.

She told them her current store location was poor, and she couldn't afford a better one, so she considered focusing solely on an online store by just renting a warehouse for inventory. Bi Guan disagreed, saying Sunray, unlike Walnut, shouldn't be given up so easily. He conducted a quick SWOT analysis: Wang Chen's strengths lay in her design and product quality, but her weaknesses were in operation, management, and marketing.

Her opportunity was to leverage online operations to attract customers outside her immediate area and enhance the in-store user experience, given that few women's wear brands at her price point had produced "a hip style." The threat was the difficulty of removing the "Lady Ugly" tag from her existing online store. He suggested creating a new brand. Wang Chen lacked confidence in starting a new brand, but Bi Guan reminded her of her excellent design and craftsmanship.

He then proposed that Miao Yu and Wang Chen collaborate. Miao Yu, having expressed his desire to restart a clothing brand, could handle product marketing and operation, while Wang Chen could focus on product design. Wang Chen initially thought it wouldn't work, but Bi Guan and Ling Sansan convinced them it was a perfect match. Miao Yu and Wang Chen took a moment to discuss it seriously, both agreeing to the partnership with a high-five.

Miao Yu immediately began discussing the business with Wang Chen, expressing his frustration about her ordering expensive hand-brewed coffee when takeout was cheaper, highlighting her lack of financial awareness. He praised her new designs, which incorporated zippers and buttons for a bolder, more "hard-edged" style, and designated one as their first new product. He then delved into the financial realities, explaining concepts like cash flow, cost, and assets, noting her "zero" company financial knowledge.

He revealed they would need a startup fund of at least one million, an optimistic estimate, to cover a year of operating costs, including hiring a shop manager, an operations specialist, and a business manager, as well as funds for new product development, inventory, promotion, and working capital. Overwhelmed, Wang Chen admitted she only had a fraction of that amount. Miao Yu confidently took on the responsibility of securing the remaining funds.

Miao Yu’s application for a business loan was denied. He then urgently contacted an estate agent, asking him to sell his house quickly, even below market price, and to find him a rental. The agent, assuming Miao Yu was starting a business and that the frequent calls were from his "wife," was surprised by his haste. Miao Yu's house sold very quickly, but the agent, who suddenly quit to start his own business, couldn't find him a rental.

Meanwhile, Wang Chen received a call from Aunt, her landlady, informing her that her rent would increase by 30%. Facing the expensive increase and the hassle of moving, Wang Chen considered finding a roommate and posted about it online.

Miao Yu, having seen her post and secretly secured the necessary startup funds (presumably from selling his house, as it's not explicitly stated but implied by the timing), told Wang Chen she didn't need to meet any investors and should focus on her designs.

While working on designs, Wang Chen patiently taught Miao Yu about clothing basics, from dressing a "dress form" to the different sections of a fabric market (North Section for cotton, denim, canvas; Section Two for reconstituted fabrics, artificial cotton, leather; Section Three for accessories like mesh, georgette, lace, buttons; Section Four for clothing hardware). At a fabric shop, Miao Yu used his charm, complimenting the owner, Zhang, to secure access to exclusive imported fabrics, which impressed Wang Chen.

She realized they were very complementary, believing their future was bright. Miao Yu explained his actions as "supplier relationship maintenance," to which Wang Chen playfully accused him of "You learnt fast," referring to "partner relationship maintenance" when he offered to treat her to a meal. Having sold his house to secure startup funds but unable to find a rental, Miao Yu had nowhere to go. He decided to spend the night at Wang Chen's shop, Sunray, with Coffee.

Aunt Liu, a nearby resident, noticed the lights on late at Sunray. Peeking through the door, she saw Miao Yu changing clothes and mistook him for a pervert secretly entering Wang Chen's shop. She immediately called Wang Chen to warn her. When Wang Chen arrived and saw Miao Yu's back, she was terrified and promptly called the police. While waiting for the police, Wang Chen insisted on entering the shop to protect her creations, which were her life's work.

Aunt Liu, though scared, bravely accompanied her. Coincidentally, Miao Yu, inside, had heard the commotion and, also fearing a thief, had armed himself with a stick and was hiding, ready to ambush. When he rushed out, he saw Wang Chen and froze, but Aunt Liu, mistaking him for the intruder, struck him in the abdomen with her stick.

At the police station, they encountered the same familiar officer who, yet again, assumed they were a couple having a fight, with the man being kicked out. Wang Chen tried to explain it was a misunderstanding, but Miao Yu, playing for sympathy, deliberately went along with the officer's assumption. To avoid further complications, Miao Yu and Wang Chen had to pretend to reconcile and were even forced to hug before leaving, following the officer's "old rule" for couples.

Aunt Liu, witnessing this odd custom, and seeing no one else to hug, embraced the police officer herself. As both of them were single, no misunderstanding arose, but a subtle, ambiguous atmosphere seemed to develop between them. Before the police station incident, the estate agent had mused to Miao Yu that business partners were like couples, both "managing" something together.

Wang Chen, too, had already expressed to Ling Sansan and Bi Guan that she and Miao Yu could not be a couple, fearing that quarrels and breakups would jeopardize their work. After their release from the police station, Miao Yu and Wang Chen went to Ling Sansan's coffee shop to calm down. Learning the full story, Bi Guan innocently suggested they cohabitate, clarifying he meant sharing rent, as Miao Yu now needed a place and Wang Chen needed a roommate.

Ling Sansan enthusiastically supported the idea, praising Bi Guan’s newfound smartness. Wang Chen hesitated due to gender differences, but Bi Guan's reasoning—that it was acceptable if there were no romantic feelings—and the urgency of her landlady needing a reply tomorrow, ultimately persuaded her. Miao Yu also agreed.

They officially became roommates, with Wang Chen laying down strict ground rules in their shared workspace-apartment: separate beds, her specific workspace, and curtains to be drawn when in their respective areas, and no "tricking" her cat, Coffee. Miao Yu agreed, and Wang Chen immediately ordered him to clean up the mess.

Episode 14 Recap

Miao Yu, having recently moved in with Wang Chen, proudly hung his collection of turtleneck shirts in their shared space. He explained to Wang Chen that this was Steve Jobs's classic style, a tested and safe choice for any entrepreneur. However, Wang Chen, unimpressed, pointed out that his stature, build, and skin color were different from Jobs, and therefore the style might not suit him.

She then declared that as a brand owner, his personal image was important, and she intended to give him a complete makeover. After a shopping spree that left Miao Yu exhausted and almost tripping on the street, he marveled at how tirelessly women could shop. Wang Chen simply reminded him that all the bags were for his new wardrobe.

Later, Miao Yu was surprised to find that Wang Chen barely used any apps on her phone, jokingly calling her a "caveman." He insisted on installing various useful applications, explaining that as a brand owner, understanding the Internet was crucial for their online market. Among the apps he installed was a "facelift service" one, which Wang Chen found offensive, accusing him of implying she was ugly or doing it intentionally.

Miao Yu claimed it was an accident, leading to a playful chase. The day concluded with Miao Yu treating Wang Chen to a big bone meal as a thank you for her earlier makeover efforts. Meanwhile, Walnut company was acquired by Antong, and Hao Feng was introduced as the new CEO.

During a company meeting, Hao Feng took a moment to introduce the new company logo and inform employees about upcoming changes, including new business cards and possible office layout adjustments. He also advised departments to continue their current tasks. Hao Feng quickly showed interest in Zhou Xixi, subtly helping her pick up files she had accidentally dropped.

Luo Li, who had seen Hao Feng's "married" status in his entry documents in Dan's office earlier that day, watched his actions with disdain. She later confronted him, holding up a wedding ring she "found" and asking if it was his, effectively exposing his marital status to Zhou Xixi. Zhou Xixi, having just finished her work, politely declined Hao Feng's lunch invitation, stating her low emotional intelligence made her uncomfortable dining with a married man.

Ken then intervened to shield Zhou Xixi from Hao Feng's persistent invitations, asserting that there was no company rule requiring female employees to have lunch with the CEO. Disgusted by Hao Feng's behavior, Zhou Xixi, Ken, and Luo Li ultimately decided to resign from Walnut. They confirmed their decision to each other, with Ken confidently stating he would easily find another job and would keep an eye out for them as well.

At home, Miao Yu and Wang Chen began to navigate the challenges of cohabitation. They initially struggled with sharing the bathroom, politely deferring to each other before deciding to brush their teeth together. Wang Chen then critiqued Miao Yu’s habit of squeezing toothpaste from the middle, demonstrating how to squeeze it from the end to avoid waste, a habit she learned from using expensive oil paints.

She also complained about the toilet paper roll facing inward, preferring it facing outward for convenience. After Wang Chen accidentally knocked over Miao Yu's Lego model, he reassured her that he knew it was unintentional, emphasizing that as partners, they needed to trust each other. Miao Yu then bought a separate toilet paper holder to accommodate their different habits.

Their cohabitation faced a sudden crisis when they returned from the supermarket to find their apartment flooded due to a burst water pipe. Miao Yu quickly fixed the pipe, getting completely drenched. Wang Chen, flustered, struggled to find the power switch to cut off the electricity. Miao Yu appeared behind her, explaining that water conducts electricity and emphasizing the importance of ensuring personal safety first by cutting the power.

Their close proximity created a brief, awkward silence before they reverted to bickering about household responsibilities and their differing knowledge of living essentials. Wang Chen asked why he didn't call property management for help. After cleaning up the apartment, they focused on brainstorming a name for their new brand. Wang Chen's cat, Lady Meow, inspired the name "Fluffy" after Wang Chen commented on her soft, fluffy fur.

Miao Yu enthusiastically checked for trademark registration, only to find that "Fluffy" was already taken. Lady Meow then playfully typed "Fluffeee" (with three 'e's) on his computer, a variation that Miao Yu discovered was available and perfectly suited their brand's image. Wang Chen went to design the new logo while Miao Yu proceeded to register the trademark. Later, while out, they encountered Aunt Liu's grandson.

The boy playfully referred to Miao Yu as "brother" now that he was with Wang Chen, and reiterated his grandma's belief that they would eventually be together. He even encouraged Miao Yu not to be disheartened, stating that even a toad could be with a swan. Though Miao Yu tried to clarify that they were merely cohabiting, the interaction made them less embarrassed by the common misunderstanding. Back at the shop, Wang Chen took down the old "Sunray" sign.

Miao Yu made a sarcastic comment about her being nostalgic for her ex-boyfriend Qin Sirui, whose English name "Ray" was part of the brand. Meanwhile, Qin Sirui, who had just returned from vacation, was encouraged by the bartender to pursue Wang Chen again, suggesting that his impulsive trip indicated he was still thinking of her. Miao Yu, determined to increase their efficiency, implemented a strict daily timetable for Wang Chen, including early morning wake-ups, jogging, and scheduled work tasks.

Wang Chen initially agreed but soon felt suffocated, comparing her life to being in prison. Her passion for scrapbooking, now a mandated task, lost its joy. During this period of frustration, Miao Yu mistakenly thought a coat Wang Chen was working on was for him. Wang Chen clarified it was for her ex, Qin Sirui, and she had been working on it cautiously, fearing he wouldn’t like it.

This led to an argument where Wang Chen, feeling disrespected and controlled, expressed her deep unhappiness with the rigid schedule. Wang Chen vented her frustrations to Ling Sansan over the phone. Ling Sansan sympathized, acknowledging that Miao Yu’s controlling nature likely stemmed from his background as a CEO.

She advised Wang Chen to communicate her feelings to him rather than bottling them up, confessing her own cold war with Bi Guan after uncovering that his tablet password, "0215," was the birthday of a former female classmate, prompting her to investigate his past. A timely apology message from Miao Yu to "Meow" (Wang Chen) instantly lifted her spirits. Ling Sansan observed the "young couple's atmosphere" between them, teasing Wang Chen about her quickly changing moods.

Miao Yu and Wang Chen met with Mr. Wu, a sample maker who had previously been dismissive of Wang Chen's small orders. Miao Yu, employing his negotiation skills, "painted a pie in the sky" for Mr. Wu, convincing him of the promising future of their brand and securing his enthusiastic cooperation. Wang Chen noted the stark difference in Mr. Wu's attitude compared to her past experiences.

Miao Yu explained that in business, one could not always rely on moral standards, and that Mr. Wu's consistent business from Wang Chen, despite his attitude, proved his irreplaceable skill. Acknowledging Wang Chen's recent suffering, Miao Yu took her phone and canceled her strict timetable, admitting he had probably been "hateful" in imposing it. He then offered to treat her to a big bone meal.

Back at the shop, Miao Yu and Wang Chen reviewed their challenges, including excess inventory, incomplete sizes, lack of sales data, high logistics costs due to small orders, and outdated designs. Just then, Ken, Luo Li, and Zhou Xixi arrived, having seen their recruitment advertisement. They explained that they had all resigned from Walnut because it was no longer the same without Miao Yu.

Miao Yu, transparent about the new venture's uncertain financial situation, asked if they had truly thought it through. Luo Li offered her expertise in finance and data analysis, and Zhou Xixi suggested revamping old designs to fit current trends. Ken stated that the detailed tasks should be left to them, as Miao Yu focused on macro-decisions. They all affirmed their commitment, ready to join as invaluable partners. Miao Yu, feeling hopeful, announced he would treat them all to dinner, looking forward to a promising future.

Episode 15 Recap

Ling Sansan and Bi Guan were discussing buying a safe box for valuables, including Bi Guan's research data. Ling Sansan accused him, revealing she knew his phone and tablet password was 0215, which she believed he dedicated to an Aquarius ex-girlfriend. Bi Guan was surprised and defended his privacy, but Sansan insisted she had checked and it wasn't a family birthday.

Bi Guan then clarified that 0215 was the birthday of his idol, Galileo, the famous astronomer known for his experiments at the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Embarrassed, Sansan apologized, admitting that an Aquarius "class beauty" he knew was indeed very pretty. Bi Guan teased her for being the first woman ever jealous of Galileo. He then emphasized the importance of openly communicating to avoid cold wars, confessing how upset he had been.

Sansan, in turn, affectionately invited him to engage in some "open communication" with her. Meanwhile, Coli's employee informed her that Fluffeee, the new brand, had a physical store located at Wang Chen's previous "Lady Ugly" shop. Coli observed the store's new, vibrant design style, noting Wang Chen's unexpected use of zippers and improved copywriting and photos for the online store. She decided to visit the shop in disguise.

Upon arrival, Coli was astonished to find the store bustling with customers, a stark contrast to its previous quiet state. She was even more surprised to see Miao Yu and Wang Chen, who were former business rivals, now working together. Just as she pondered their collaboration, Luo Li, a devoted fan, recognized Coli despite her disguise.

Luo Li enthusiastically shared that Miao Yu and Wang Chen were now partners and then overwhelmed Coli by listing her favorite herbal tea, cookies, and even the perfume she liked on Weibo, causing Coli to flee the store. At a funding dinner for their new brand, Miao Yu tried to shield Wang Chen from the pressure, instructing her to simply eat while he handled the toasts. He humbly introduced himself and their new venture to various business leaders.

However, when one of the guests, Mr. Li, approached Wang Chen to propose a drink, Wang Chen, having transformed into Coffee, asserted that she could drink for herself. Coffee then proceeded to drink multiple rounds, outperforming Mr. Li and the other guests, much to Miao Yu's astonishment. The impressed clients praised her "gifted" drinking ability and suggested future "healthy meetings." Afterward, a tipsy Wang Chen, still as Coffee, collapsed.

Miao Yu carried her home on his back, feeling a sweet pang as he heard her drunkenly mumbling as Coffee, protecting him and refusing to let anyone force him to drink. As they arrived, Aunt Liu, their neighbor, expressed concern for Wang Chen, noting that even if they were just roommates, Miao Yu should take good care of her, suggesting honey water. Miao Yu gently dismissed the suggestion and took Wang Chen inside.

Aunt Liu watched them with a smile, remarking that they made "quite a match." Ling Sansan was on the phone with Bi Guan, who was preoccupied with a new "patient" consulting him. Sansan quickly deduced that the "patient" was Qin Sirui, Wang Chen's ex-boyfriend, and warned Bi Guan that he was being tricked into revealing information about the comet. She frantically asked if he had told Qin Sirui everything.

Qin Sirui, having obtained the information, instructed his staff to prepare a to-go brunch. The next morning, Miao Yu offered Wang Chen hangover tea. Wang Chen, embarrassed about her behavior as Coffee, asked if she had done anything "over the top." Miao Yu reassured her that she hadn't and mentioned he was taking Coffee for a morning jog. When Qin Sirui arrived at their apartment, Wang Chen initially mistook him for Miao Yu.

Qin Sirui expressed concern for her, noting her "joint renting" situation and inquiring if she needed help, emphasizing that they could still be friends. Just then, Ling Sansan called Wang Chen, urgently informing her that Bi Guan had been tricked, and Qin Sirui now knew all about the comet. She warned Wang Chen to be prepared, but Wang Chen quickly ended the call to speak with Qin Sirui outside.

Outside, Qin Sirui told Wang Chen he understood her situation with Miao Yu, believing their interactions were unwilling acts due to the comet and a confidentiality agreement. He apologized for his past misunderstanding. He then confessed that during his travels, he couldn't stop thinking about her and realized he "couldn't get over her," asking for another chance. Miao Yu, returning from his walk with Coffee, saw them talking. Wang Chen introduced Miao Yu as her roommate.

Miao Yu greeted Qin Sirui, who remarked he "understood" their situation and the need for "frequent mutual help." Miao Yu then went inside and secretly listened from behind the door. Wang Chen told Qin Sirui she hadn't considered his proposal and couldn't give him an answer yet. Qin Sirui left her a new dish from his restaurant for "feedback," stating he trusted her taste. When Wang Chen came back inside, she noticed Miao Yu's awkwardness, his hands fidgeting.

Miao Yu questioned Wang Chen about Qin Sirui, wondering if they were reconciling. Wang Chen clarified that Qin Sirui had obtained the comet information from Bi Guan, not her, acknowledging Qin Sirui "took pains." When Qin Sirui's dishes arrived, Wang Chen referred to it as "love breakfast." Miao Yu scoffed at his "many excuses" but eventually joined Wang Chen for lunch, rationalizing that more opinions would be better for taste testing.

As they ate, Miao Yu enthusiastically envisioned free breakfasts if Wang Chen reconciled with Qin Sirui, listing various traditional Chinese breakfast items he'd order. Their playful banter continued when Wang Chen found a short hair in the food, leading to a comedic argument about who was the "hair loser." Wang Chen also observed that Miao Yu hadn't transformed into Lady Meow lately, asking if he was happy, to which he attributed his good mood to being busy with work.

On the phone, Ling Sansan pressed Wang Chen about her feelings for Qin Sirui. Wang Chen admitted she didn't know, feeling it was a missed opportunity. Despite her uncertainty, a sweet smile played on her face when Sansan pressed her to consider Miao Yu, but Sansan firmly told her to consider the past as over. She warned that if Qin Sirui wanted her back, he'd have to "take a number and fall in line," or Sansan wouldn't allow it.

Sansan then slyly asked Wang Chen if, after being roommates and partners with Miao Yu for a while, there were "any sparks" between them. Wang Chen blushed and denied it, prompting Sansan to jokingly ask if it had become a "bonfire." Sansan then compared Qin Sirui, the "elegant prince" who "knows you" and is "full of goods," to Miao Yu, whom she playfully called the "opposite" and "full of bads."

Wang Chen defended Miao Yu, saying he wasn't "that bad," leading Sansan to conclude that for a "full-of-bads" person to stand on "equal footing" with a "full-of-goods" person "is already suggesting something." Later, at the Fluffeee store, Miao Yu and Wang Chen were debating poster colors. Miao Yu struggled with the nuances between "scarlet" and "rust red," declaring that men generally only see basic color categories for lipsticks, and "nude" simply meant "colorless."

Wang Chen patiently explained "nude makeup" as looking natural even when wearing cosmetics. She also admitted to wearing nude makeup at home, just for herself. Qin Sirui then arrived with afternoon tea, noting he hadn't received feedback on his previous dishes and commenting on Wang Chen's new design style, particularly her use of scarlet, a color she avoided during her Sunray days. He invited her for Christmas dinner.

Miao Yu intercepted Qin Sirui's gift, accepting the afternoon tea and stating he was Wang Chen's partner. He then rudely rejected Qin Sirui's dinner invitation on Wang Chen's behalf, claiming she was busy. Qin Sirui countered, asserting Wang Chen's right to accept any pursuit, including his, as their misunderstanding was resolved. He challenged Miao Yu, asking what right he had to intervene. Qin Sirui acknowledged Miao Yu's e-commerce background but warned him against controlling Wang Chen.

He then extended the Christmas dinner invitation to both Wang Chen and Miao Yu to celebrate their new brand. Miao Yu immediately accepted for both of them, much to Wang Chen's annoyance, who felt he had forced her hand. Miao Yu dismissed her concerns, stating it was "just a meal."

That evening, at Qin Sirui's restaurant, which he had cleared for them, a waiter informed them that this was similar to when Qin Sirui first confessed his feelings to Wang Chen, as he had closed the restaurant that day too. Miao Yu, feeling the tension, instructed Wang Chen to eat quickly so they could leave. Wang Chen confessed she was afraid of embarrassment and unsure how to act.

Qin Sirui then welcomed them and presented a dish, reminding Wang Chen it was from her first visit. Miao Yu sarcastically commented on the "cultural innovative delicacy," asking if there would be poetry or music, which Qin Sirui quickly dismissed as "noise." Qin Sirui offered Wang Chen a cocktail named "Chen" (her name), explaining it was made to her taste, and apologized to Miao Yu if his drink wasn't to his liking, as he didn't know his preferences.

After a toast, Miao Yu tried to leave, but Qin Sirui stopped them. He presented Wang Chen with a framed collage of all her past delivery receipts from his restaurant, calling it a "beautiful memory" that deserved to be preserved. Miao Yu scoffed, remarking that cherishing "memories" was an "ex's patent." Qin Sirui then pressed Wang Chen for her answer to his earlier proposal, asking if she would give him another chance.

As Wang Chen hesitated, Miao Yu intervened, telling Qin Sirui to "let her go" as she was "not Cinderella." Qin Sirui countered, suggesting Wang Chen's past actions were "impulsive" due to her "abnormal state" influenced by the comet. Miao Yu perceived this as a challenge to a "duel." Qin Sirui agreed, asserting that "fair and square competition is better than covert petty tricks" and formally "declared war" on Miao Yu, not as Wang Chen's partner.

Uncomfortable with the escalating confrontation, Wang Chen quickly thanked Qin Sirui for dinner and pulled Miao Yu away to go home. Walking home, Miao Yu was silent and moody. Wang Chen, mistaking his quietness for him having turned into Lady Meow, tried to cheer him up. She suggested they buy some cute reindeer ears, but he refused, saying he didn't want to "act cute like the others."

Wang Chen insisted that "Lady Meow wants to see you act cute," so she bought herself a pair of cat ears and put them on, asking if she looked cute. Miao Yu reluctantly conceded she looked "fine." She then insisted that "Lady Meow wants to hear you sing," and after much coaxing, he sang "Jingle Bells" terribly. Wang Chen then playfully accused him of pretending to be upset to trick her into singing.

He denied it, claiming he was not that fragile and was annoyed she had dragged him away before he could eat dessert. As they continued their playful bickering, he was forced to wear the cat ears, reciting, "Don't force others to do what you don't wanna do." Wang Chen feigned misunderstanding, and they continued to tease each other.

Later, Miao Yu tried to understand the subtle differences between scarlet and rust red using hexadecimal color codes, but Wang Chen explained colors through intuitive analogies, like "burlywood" for tree trunks, "mintcream" for mint-flavored cream, and "palevioletred" for the complex mood of liking someone without knowing their feelings. Miao Yu expressed his awe at her poetic descriptions.

He asked why she was suddenly interested in colors, and she replied that as a "walking dictionary," she couldn't tolerate a blind spot in her knowledge. Wang Chen playfully called him a "narcissist" before heading off. Elsewhere, a customer at a store inquired about the Fluffeee brand, and a saleswoman explained its unusual origin, involving the founder of Walnut and the former "Lady Ugly" who had once criticized Walnut's designs.

Episode 16 Recap

Li Zhizhi, Miao Yu’s ex-girlfriend, visited Fluffeee, ostentatiously purchasing every clothing item not designed by Miao Yu. She openly stated that she was shopping and that it was not her money, hinting at a wealthy new boyfriend. When Wang Chen assisted her, Li Zhizhi inquired about her relationship with Miao Yu, to which Wang Chen clarified they were merely business partners. Li Zhizhi then commented that Miao Yu was a good man who deserved love.

After her departure, Wang Chen's colleagues remarked on Li Zhizhi's extravagant spending, noting it amounted to almost a week's sales, and drew comparisons to Miao Yu’s past generosity with her. Miao Yu, however, assured Wang Chen that he was unaffected, having moved on, which led to some playful banter between them about their past relationships.

To help Miao Yu and Wang Chen develop a romantic connection, Ken and Luo Li concocted a plan to send them on a business trip, believing it would create opportunities for them as a single man and woman. During a team meeting, Ken proposed attending an upcoming international fabric exhibition, emphasizing its benefits for discovering new trends, sourcing unique materials, and cutting costs by directly engaging with foreign suppliers. Both Miao Yu and Wang Chen agreed the trip was necessary.

When selecting attendees, Ken and Luo Li fabricated elaborate excuses for their unavailability, effectively ensuring Miao Yu and Wang Chen would have to go together. They argued that Wang Chen, as the boss focused on fabric, was essential, and Miao Yu, despite his "aesthetic deviation," was an excellent negotiator, making them the "best partners" for the job.

Later, Miao Yu attempted to go alone, citing the poor accommodation conditions at the exhibition site and wanting Wang Chen to remain at the store. Wang Chen rejected this, insisting it was a work trip, not a vacation, and expressed concern that his solo decision-making might lead to "ugly fabrics" and financial losses, prompting Miao Yu to playfully question her own taste.

A text message from Bi Guan unexpectedly reminded Miao Yu and Wang Chen that it was New Year’s Eve, prompting Miao Yu to organize a celebratory gathering with their support group friends. At the party, Wang Chen reflected on the past year, acknowledging the growth of their brand and the unexpected friendships forged because of the comet’s influence.

Bi Guan then announced exciting news: based on verifiable observations, Comet WTF666 had altered its trajectory and was set to collide with Jupiter in four months, which would cause its effects on them to disappear. Although initially skeptical, the group celebrated this prospect with a toast, even as some admitted to finding unforeseen benefits in their animal connections. Ling Sansan and Bi Guan engaged in a humorous argument about her diet and his unromantic responses, culminating in a playful chase.

Luo Li also shared her good news about an upcoming screen test for an acting role. As the crowd began the New Year's countdown, a man tried to flirt with Wang Chen, but Miao Yu quickly intervened, claiming her as his girlfriend. After the countdown, the group exchanged New Year wishes, with Ling Sansan pointedly encouraging Miao Yu and Wang Chen to be more honest in the coming year.

The night before their trip, Wang Chen secretly tried on a scarf she had knitted for Miao Yu, but hesitated to give it to him, feeling it was too romantic. Concurrently, Miao Yu bought a necklace and travel-sized toiletries. He corrected a sales assistant who assumed the necklace was for his girlfriend, insisting it was for a "male friend."

Later, he visited Wang Chen and presented her with the toiletries, then awkwardly offered her the necklace, claiming it was a "free gift" from his purchase, though he had forgotten to remove the price tag, which Wang Chen subtly noticed. Seizing the opportunity, Wang Chen gave Miao Yu the scarf, feigning that it was intended for Ling Sansan but didn’t fit her. Miao Yu accepted it with thanks.

As he helped Wang Chen put on the necklace, he stood close behind her, creating an intimate moment that left Wang Chen flustered. She quickly made an excuse about being sleepy and retreated to her room. Both were later seen privately admiring their respective new gifts, with Wang Chen still breathless from their close encounter. Miao Yu and Wang Chen began their business trip by bus, entrusting Lady Meow and Coffee to Ling Sansan.

En route, the bus unexpectedly broke down in a remote area. Miao Yu became visibly stressed, complaining about the delay and predicting a "ripple effect" of subsequent problems, expressing concern about missing the exhibition. In contrast, Wang Chen remained calm, utilizing the unexpected downtime to sketch a new dress design. Miao Yu observed her, noting that the color she was using was "forest green," a detail he remembered from a previous conversation.

He remarked that even an accident could bring inspiration, and Wang Chen agreed that "surprise can come from unexpected events." They shared a banana and reminisced about a barista who spoke of "patience" in making filter coffee, concluding that "good taste comes from patience." When the replacement bus finally arrived, Miao Yu received a call informing him that their pre-booked rooms had been given away due to their delayed arrival, confirming his earlier fears of a ripple effect.

The only available options were two empty rooms. Upon entering one, they were shocked to discover it was a lavishly decorated "couple's room" or "honeymoon suite." Neither wanted to stay there, so they decided to share the other available room for the night, with the intention of securing separate accommodations after the exhibition. Attempting to sleep in the same bed, Miao Yu and Wang Chen lay rigidly, avoiding any contact due to intense awkwardness.

The next morning, Wang Chen awoke to find Miao Yu had moved to sleep on the floor, a gesture that brought a sweet smile to her face. At the fabric exhibition, they found a unique, exclusive fabric that perfectly matched Wang Chen's design. However, the vendor informed them that all the stock had been pre-ordered by "Walnut," a company recently acquired by Antong.

The mention of "Walnut" instantly triggered Miao Yu into a "Lady Meow mode," making him agitated and confrontational with the vendor. He dismissed the rock climbing competition prize as trivial and accused them of extortion. As he began to make a counter-offer, starting with "five. . ." , he suddenly collapsed, his eyes rolling back.

This was a direct physical manifestation of Lady Meow undergoing gastric lavage surgery after accidentally swallowing one of the "Big Dipper" pieces (a "little star" or "fortune stone") from Ling Sansan's merchandise. Ling Sansan had earlier rushed Lady Meow to the vet, where she was warned that the cat would be weak and unable to perform strenuous activities due to the anesthesia.

Back in their hotel room, Miao Yu was severely weakened and unable to feel his legs, his condition clearly linked to Lady Meow’s anesthesia. Despite his incapacitation, Miao Yu was determined to secure the fabric. With him unable to move and Wang Chen admitting her lack of athletic ability, they reluctantly concluded that she would have to participate in the rock climbing competition as their last resort.

In a desperate attempt, Wang Chen posted a plea on social media for help in acquiring the specific fabric, which caught the attention of Qin Sirui, who fell into deep thought.

Episode 17 Recap

Miao Yu put Wang Chen through intense training to prepare her for the rock climbing competition and win the ideal fabric. Despite her exhaustion and his occasional reluctance to push her so hard, Wang Chen remained cheerful, even taking selfies on her bicycle basket. Although her stamina improved, winning the competition the next day seemed impossible.

Miao Yu, feeling sympathetic, initially believed they could rely on Lady Meow for the competition, but Wang Chen pointed out that Lady Meow was too unpredictable compared to Coffee. She then had the idea to connect to Coffee's athletic abilities for the climb. To do this, she needed to experience a strong negative emotion. However, being with Miao Yu recently had made her so happy that she couldn't conjure up any sadness, even when Miao Yu tried to scold her.

It wasn't until Miao Yu subtly disparaged her design that Wang Chen finally became genuinely upset. As soon as Wang Chen associated with Coffee, she collapsed into Miao Yu's arms, merely having fallen asleep from exhaustion. Miao Yu gently carried her to bed, and as he watched her sleep, he couldn't resist tenderly kissing her forehead. Meanwhile, Qin Sirui was also tirelessly searching for the same fabric Wang Chen desired.

His efforts paid off when he located it through an Indian merchant. To ensure the deal, Qin Sirui was careful not to offend the merchant, even forcing himself to eat gai lan (Chinese broccoli), to which he was allergic, when offered. The next morning, Wang Chen received a text from Qin Sirui, but chose not to reply, wishing to avoid any further misunderstandings. At the rock climbing competition, Wang Chen, powered by her connection to Coffee, quickly took the lead.

However, seeing Miao Yu cheering enthusiastically below, her joy caused her to momentarily lose focus and revert to her normal self, instantly feeling weak without Coffee's influence. Determined to secure the fabric, Wang Chen pushed past her physical limits. Even as she struggled, the Walnut representative, her competitor, watched her with newfound respect and admiration. In the end, Wang Chen won the competition, whether by her own merit or by her opponent's allowance, she deserved the victory.

Upon returning, Wang Chen arranged to meet Qin Sirui at a park near her home. Qin Sirui, full of anticipation, left immediately to retrieve the fabric from his car before Wang Chen could speak. On his way back, Miao Yu, having finally understood his feelings for Wang Chen, eagerly approached her to confess, but Qin Sirui's return forced him to put his prepared gift back into his pocket.

As Miao Yu awkwardly departed, Qin Sirui presented the fabric to Wang Chen, but she no longer needed it. Wang Chen then explained to Qin Sirui that while her initial attraction to him was influenced by Coffee, her words to him at his mother's birthday party were truly from her heart. She admitted that in his presence, she always felt on edge, striving for perfection and fearing she wasn't good enough to enter his world.

She explained that she felt free and relaxed only with Miao Yu. She concluded that if that feeling was love, then she was in love with Miao Yu. Qin Sirui, respecting her choice, embraced her one last time, privately vowing to bear the pain of letting go. He told her he didn't want to be a burdensome ex and wished to be a stranger to her, asking her not to give him any more hope.

Later, at home, Qin Sirui's mother confronted him about his disheveled appearance and criticized his choice of girlfriend, but he, exhausted, pushed back, asserting his desire to make his own choices after a lifetime of her control. He then drank a glass of alcohol, naming the drink "Chen." Back home, Miao Yu, sensing Wang Chen's presence, nervously hid a love letter he had written under a cup tray. Wang Chen, observing his flustered and jealous reaction, found it sweet.

When she told him she had rejected Qin Sirui, Miao Yu, overjoyed, impulsively gave her a crumpled fabric flower, calling it a celebration of their two-month business partnership, before quickly running off to the bathroom. Wang Chen soon discovered the poorly hidden love letter addressed to her.

Miao Yu, completely clueless about romance, only realized that the scarf he was wearing was a gift knitted by Wang Chen after Ling Sansan's husband, Bi Guan, pointed it out, clarifying that Sansan had mentioned it was meant for him, not given away because he had too many. Meeting downstairs from their apartment, Wang Chen presented the love letter to Miao Yu, who stammered in embarrassment. Confirming his feelings, Wang Chen then boldly kissed him.

In that moment, a soft pink glow seemed to envelop them, the color of burgeoning love. Now officially a couple, Miao Yu and Wang Chen eagerly tried to announce their relationship to their friends. They tried to tell Sansan at her busy cafe, but she was too distracted by customers.

Next, they attempted to reveal the news in their group chat, but their friend Wang Zi interrupted with a request for advice on casting photos, and the conversation quickly moved on. Later, sitting on a park bench, they found themselves in a sweet but awkward silence. Miao Yu, still feeling a little resentful about Wang Chen's previous declarations and bold kiss, resolved to initiate a kiss this time to break the tension.

However, fate seemed to conspire against them, interrupting their attempts with urgent phone calls about a workplace dispute. After resolving the conflict by proposing a plan to drive traffic from their online store to their physical one and suggesting a team-building event to announce their relationship, they finally silenced their phones and shared an undisturbed kiss.

Episode 18 Recap

Miao Yu, aiming to foster better relationships and a positive work environment among colleagues, decided to organize a team-building activity, which turned out to be mountain climbing. Ken expressed his discontent, remarking that previous team constructions had just been "extra work," but acknowledged that Mr. Miao's management style had "really changed." Luo Li, showing her thoughtfulness, mentioned she had brought snacks to share later.

Miao Yu announced the first activity: a run along a ring road, with the last person to return being responsible for setting up the tents. Both Ken and Luo Li groaned about the running, even wishing they were back at work. However, Luo Li also praised Mr. Miao, noting he does "everything seriously" and is "reliable."

Ken agreed, adding that Mr. Miao is "so serious and responsible about his relationship," but his ex-girlfriend "didn't cherish him," and his next girlfriend "must be very happy." Zhou Xixi, who felt somewhat distant from the others, persevered despite feeling unwell, determined not to appear unsociable, even though the long run was proving difficult. Luo Li, with her usual perceptiveness, noticed Zhou Xixi's distress during the run and kindly offered a way out.

She asked if Zhou Xixi was alright, to which Zhou Xixi initially insisted she was fine. However, Zhou Xixi soon admitted she "can't walk anymore" and was "tired," prompting Luo Li to suggest a break. Zhou Xixi then confided that she was "having menstrual cramps," and Luo Li worried she might faint. Zhou Xixi explained her reluctance to stop, fearing the others would think she was "asocial" since they all "get along very well."

Luo Li, however, dismissed her concerns, calling Zhou Xixi "square-toed" and suggesting they "return by the original way," as no one else but Mr. Miao truly wanted to run. When Miao Yu spotted them and jokingly accused them of "cheating," Luo Li quickly covered for Zhou Xixi, claiming she herself was suffering from dysmenorrhea and had asked Zhou Xixi to keep her company. Miao Yu, prioritizing health, accepted this explanation and told Zhou Xixi to "take good care of her."

Zhou Xixi thanked Luo Li, who downplayed it, then confessed that she "didn't think a lot before speaking" and was perhaps too direct at work, offering for Zhou Xixi to "hit her" if she ever annoyed her. Zhou Xixi, in turn, admitted she was indeed "a square-toed person" who didn't "know how to communicate with others." Luo Li humorously concluded they were "the two of us," a perfect pair.

She then offered practical advice about drinking ginger and black sugar soup for dysmenorrhea, and they found common ground, bonding over shared interests in fashion, specifically shoes, feeling like they were "meeting for the first time." Soon, Ken joined them with food, proclaiming that this interaction was "the significance of team construction" and proposing they play Truth or Dare, which everyone readily agreed to. Later, at the mountaintop, after setting up their tents, everyone gathered to play Truth or Dare.

The game started lightheartedly, with questions like "What color is your underwear?" and dares to "hug the one at your left." When it was Zhou Xixi's turn, she was asked "Who will you think of before you sleep?" and she revealed it was a celebrity whose Weibo she checked nightly. For Wang Chen's turn, the question was "Where did you kiss last time?"

She answered "At home," but when the others pressed if it was with her ex or her pet, "Lady Meow," she clarified it was neither, causing the conversation to awkwardly shift. Finally, when it was Miao Yu's turn, he looked directly at Wang Chen and declared, "Wang Chen, I like you." However, everyone dismissed it as just a "Dare," laughing and remarking that he played it so convincingly they "nearly believed it."

Frustrated by this failed public declaration, Miao Yu and Wang Chen later sat together, with Miao Yu lamenting that he had planned to "announce our relationship," but everyone had "mistook it as Dare," concluding that "they never thought we can be together." As they watched the stars at midnight, Wang Chen remarked on the "unbelievable" journey that led them from disliking each other to being together. Miao Yu agreed, finding it both "inexplicable" yet "reasonable."

Despite Wang Chen's usual reluctance to display personal feelings on social media, Miao Yu, asserting his "no plan B" approach, convinced her. They then decided to announce their relationship by simultaneously posting on their respective social media accounts. The next morning, Ken, Luo Li, and Zhou Xixi woke up together in one tent, expressing their surprise. After some discussion, one of them exclaimed in disbelief, "Chen and Mr. Miao stayed together last night?"

Despite this, they quickly dismissed the idea of them being a couple, insisting that "Mr. Miao is not that kind of person" and is "honest," believing such a romantic pairing was impossible for them. Meanwhile, in their own tent, Miao Yu tenderly watched Wang Chen as she slept, appreciating the happiness of waking up beside his beloved. After they both fully awoke, they soon noticed an unusual quietness. Wang Chen commented, "Why it's so quiet? It's weird.

Is it they haven't seen the moments? They should have. My WeChat should have a lot of messages now. At least my parents should know it." Upon checking their phones, they discovered there was no signal on the mountain. Miao Yu realized, "No signal. The message hasn't been sent out." Their plan to publicly announce their relationship had failed once again. Fluffeee eventually secured a potential investor, Mr. Yu. Miao Yu introduced Wang Chen as his partner.

Mr. Yu initially praised their workspace and products, contrasting them with companies that present well on paper but disappoint in reality, recognizing them as "good businessmen." However, he immediately voiced his strong reservations about "companies operated by a couple," expressing concern that such partnerships tend to "fail when they argue," potentially "waste the money input by the investors."

Miao Yu started to disclose their relationship, but Wang Chen quickly stopped him, assuring Mr. Yu that they would "put their energies into work" and that he shouldn't "worry." Satisfied, Mr. Yu agreed to prepare the contracts. Afterward, Miao Yu asked Wang Chen if she was "sure they keep it secret," expressing concern that she might feel "wronged" by their "secret relationship." Wang Chen prioritized Fluffeee, stating, "We can't wrong Fluffeee."

Miao Yu then playfully suggested she should "behave like other girls and be more dependent," giving him "some space to show himself," to which Wang Chen teased him about referring to an ex-girlfriend, which he denied. Miao Yu then proposed a "secret signal" for their private conversations, "God covers tigers," but Wang Chen playfully dismissed it, reminding him they were "secret lovers, not informants."

This exchange highlighted their growing affection and the sacrifices they were making for their shared business venture, intensifying their love. As Miao Yu prepared to leave, Wang Chen stopped him, noticing a prominent kiss mark on his neck. Miao Yu jokingly asked if he was "too handsome," but Wang Chen insisted he "should change his clothes" to a "turtleneck" to cover it. Miao Yu realized his turtlenecks had been discarded.

Wang Chen tried to conceal it with makeup, playfully noting his concealer was "overdue" before finding a suitable turtleneck for him. Later, while giving instructions to Ken, Miao Yu subtly reminded Wang Chen not to reveal his neck. The kiss mark, a symbol of their affection, also sparked an idea for Wang Chen. At a design meeting, her new design, inspired by the "kiss," was presented.

Colleagues praised its "lovely" and "best" qualities, wondering if she had "met someone," but Wang Chen vaguely attributed the idea to sudden inspiration. The design received unanimous approval and was immediately moved into the development procedure, with Wang Chen emphasizing that their "kiss" design had a "core" and thus the potential to be popular, much like famous brand symbols.

She passionately declared that Fluffeee was not just a trendy brand and she "didn't care whether it would be popular," stating, "If we can't make it well, I'd rather give it up." However, Miao Yu's contract signing with Mr. Yu faced an unexpected obstacle.

Mr. Yu initially cited his assistant taking the "official seal" on a business trip as the reason for the delay, but later revealed his underlying concern: he had "heard in the industry that your designer is very emotional, idealistic, and cares little about cost." Miao Yu staunchly defended Wang Chen, emphasizing her "own pursuit" as a designer and assuring Mr. Yu that he would "manage" the operational aspects and "won't disappoint the investors."

Mr. Yu acknowledged this, stating he was "looking forward to their achievements." Mr. Yu's concerns about Wang Chen's design philosophy proved accurate. In a design meeting, when the team suggested using "terylene blending" fabric for an "undershirt" as a solution for printing issues, Wang Chen vehemently rejected it. She argued that while sweaters were "flexible and stiff," an undershirt would be "too soft," declaring, "We don't want to be a street vendor.

If we can't make it well, I'd rather give it up." This uncompromising stance on quality clashed with Miao Yu's more pragmatic approach, leading to their first significant argument. Later, Miao Yu attempted to discuss the "undershirt" issue, agreeing that Fluffeee should be a "brand with good reputation and popularity" and "no quick money."

However, he emphasized the "urgent affairs" of survival, explaining that their initial financing could only "support them for six months at most" due to high expenses for premium materials and longer production cycles. Wang Chen, refusing to "rush design," questioned why he was "so stubborn" and hurt him by asking if he wanted to make Fluffeee "the next Walnut." Miao Yu was deeply wounded, asking, "You think me in this way? You think I'll make the same mistake, right?"

Wang Chen immediately apologized, attributing her harsh words to her "Coffee" personality speaking without thinking. After this argument, Wang Chen sought advice from Ling Sansan, who noted that Wang Chen and Miao Yu were "not themselves today" and couldn't work. Sansan encouraged her to resolve the conflict, but Wang Chen felt overwhelmed by their "many different ideas and focuses." She decided to go home to apologize to Miao Yu but found him absent.

During this time, she inadvertently discovered a contract for Miao Yu's house sale. Wang Chen had believed Fluffeee's operating costs were covered by investment, but now tearfully realized that Miao Yu had sold his house, pouring all his savings into the business. She understood why Miao Yu was "so urgent" about generating revenue, regretting her earlier accusation of him "seeking quick success."

Miao Yu later confirmed he had indeed sold his house, treating it as his "angel round investment" to protect her from the pressure. He explained that all startups involve risks and, as a former CEO, he believed in Fluffeee's future and that "every penny" he invested "will be paid back." Wang Chen, deeply touched, promised to "look forward" but made him vow to "tell her everything related to Fluffeee" from that moment on. The misunderstanding cleared, their relationship grew stronger.

Faced with Mr. Yu's reservations, Miao Yu diligently researched the investor's entrepreneurial journey. In their next meeting, Mr. Yu questioned why Miao Yu only presented a "design drawing" instead of physical "samples." Miao Yu explained that "good products need time" and that "quality depends much on energy," asserting that "fast new arrivals without good quality" would "damage the life of the brand" in the long run.

He emphasized that a designer brand "should have its own attitude" and not rely on constant new arrivals to "attract customers." Miao Yu then skillfully referenced Mr. Yu's own history, reminding him that when he started in the catering industry, everyone thought Sichuan cuisine in the south could only be a "short-term" endeavor for "quick money." He highlighted Mr. Yu's "insistence" and "courage" in making it "a high-end Sichuan cuisine brand with good reputation and popularity."

Mr. Yu was impressed that Miao Yu had "even investigated his development history," confirming that he indeed "relied on insistence and courage" and that "quality is the absolute principle." Convinced by Miao Yu's sincerity and shared belief in quality, Mr. Yu declared the "design concept good" and that they "must work hard." He then signed the contract, marking the success of Fluffeee's investment. Miao Yu gratefully assured him, "We won't disappoint you."

Episode 19 Recap

Mr. Hao, the CEO of Walnut, felt deeply humiliated by the recent sales figures. Despite Hu Tao's top-tier resources, they had been outperformed by Fluffeee, which Mr. Hao dismissed as a mere workshop. When an employee pointed out Fluffeee's success was due to Mr. Miao, who managed operations, and his partner "Lady Ugly," who handled design, the employee even acknowledged Mr. Miao's capabilities. Mr. Hao, clearly irked, reminded him that there was only "Mr. Hao" in that room.

Miao Yu received an unexpected call from Zhou Song, who invited him to his engagement party with Li Zhizhi. Wang Chen, overhearing Miao Yu's end of the conversation, playfully teased him, wondering if Li Zhizhi still harbored feelings for him or planned to elope at the event, likening it to a dramatic television series. Miao Yu clarified that it was Zhou Song, not Li Zhizhi, who had extended the invitation.

When Wang Chen suggested his hesitation indicated guilt, Miao Yu firmly declared he was completely over Li Zhizhi and would attend "with his head held high." That day, January 26th, was also Wang Chen's birthday.

Although her friend Ling Sansan had given her a set of sexy pajamas as a gift and wished her a romantic surprise from Miao Yu, Wang Chen felt a pang of disappointment when Miao Yu, fresh off signing a crucial investment deal with Mr. Yu for Fluffeee, asked her to accompany him to the engagement party, confirming he had no other plans for her special day.

On the day of the engagement party, Wang Chen and Miao Yu found themselves lost, as there were no signs indicating the event. They soon encountered Qin Sirui, who was also looking for the venue. Qin Sirui explained he was there at the insistence of a friend, who mentioned the couple desired as many guests as possible. Together, they finally located the party.

Inside, Wang Chen and Miao Yu immediately noticed the absence of any elders from the groom's side, a detail they both found unsettling. As the bride and groom made their entrance, the guests offered polite compliments. However, the celebratory atmosphere quickly soured. Zhou Song began his speech by lavishly praising Li Zhizhi's beauty and tenderness, only to abruptly denounce her as a "gold digger."

He then revealed he had spent over three million on her, covering her luxurious lifestyle, but she still demanded to be added to his property deed. He disclosed that his parents, after investigating her, discovered she had dated more than twenty men, consistently moving on to a wealthier partner once her current one ceased to spend money. To underscore his point, Zhou Song gestured towards a table, identifying its occupants, including Miao Yu, as Li Zhizhi's "ex-boyfriends" and fellow victims.

The former boyfriends joined in, vociferously accusing Li Zhizhi of being a fraud and demanding their money back, some even threatening to call the police. Miao Yu, however, refused to "hit a person when he’s down." As Li Zhizhi's parents arrived, she tearfully urged them to leave, facing the onslaught of accusations alone.

Zhou Song then demanded she remove the diamond jewelry he had purchased, with other guests also shouting at her to take off her expensive Vera Wang wedding dress. Miao Yu intervened, reminding everyone that it was an engagement party, not a marketplace, and questioned if Zhou Song truly wanted his sincere feelings to be mocked. Zhou Song then ordered Li Zhizhi to "get lost." As she turned to leave, she stumbled and fell.

The guests, cynical, immediately assumed she was faking for sympathy, reminiscing about how she had used similar tactics in the past. It was Qin Sirui who promptly rushed to her aid, while Miao Yu hesitated, casting a glance at Wang Chen. Later, Miao Yu confronted Zhou Song, asking why he resorted to such public humiliation instead of legal action.

Zhou Song, wounded, admitted it was the first time he had been truly sincere with a girl, only to be tricked, lamenting the money and years of his youth lost. After Zhou Song’s confession, Wang Chen urged Miao Yu to go after Li Zhizhi, expressing concern for her well-being given the distressing events. She assured Miao Yu she would be fine.

Qin Sirui offered to drive Wang Chen home, pointing out it was her birthday and she shouldn't have to eat leftovers alone. Wang Chen politely declined, suggesting that sometimes a stranger’s concern can be warmer, but still insisted on going home by herself. Miao Yu found Li Zhizhi eating fries, an indulgence she said she had long avoided to maintain her image. He advised her not to internalize the harsh words.

Li Zhizhi confessed that the accusations were true, acknowledging she was indeed a "gold digger" and that her actions were calculated choices to pursue a better life she believed she deserved, despite a disadvantaged background. She admitted her "shortcut" had led to a complete "failure" and that she "deserved this punishment," though she questioned if her parents deserved the same humiliation. Ultimately, she recognized she had hurt many and admitted she was wrong.

Li Zhizhi then thanked Miao Yu and encouraged him to return to Wang Chen, not wanting to upset his girlfriend further. As Miao Yu turned to leave, she stopped him, telling him her Vera Wang dress wouldn't match his jacket, a subtle refusal of his comfort. She then embraced him from behind, revealing that her past rejection of his proposal wasn't due to a lack of feelings, but because she felt "unworthy" of his goodness and love.

With a final "Goodbye," she released him, seemingly accepting her fate. Back home, Wang Chen waited anxiously for Miao Yu. It was her birthday, and she felt a deep sense of loneliness, eventually deciding not to disturb him. A delivery arrived: an anonymous bouquet of flowers with a "Happy Birthday" card. Believing they were from Miao Yu, she felt a surge of happiness and placed them by her bedside before drifting off to sleep.

Miao Yu eventually returned and saw Wang Chen in her "sexy pajamas" and the flowers. Unaware of the sender, he misinterpreted the scene, suspecting she was still in contact with Qin Sirui. The next morning, Wang Chen woke up to find Miao Yu sleeping on the sofa in Lady Meow's distinctive posture. She initially worried he was upset because of Li Zhizhi, but quickly dismissed such suspicious thoughts.

As she reached to cover him with a blanket, she noticed a distinct lipstick mark on the back of his shirt. The unspoken tension escalated at work, with colleagues observing what appeared to be a "cold war" between Miao Yu and Wang Chen, speculating it stemmed from "ex problems." Some suggested that unresolved connections with exes could lead to current relationship issues, questioning if a lack of firm rejection indicated insufficient love for the present partner.

Wang Chen overheard these conversations, feeling provoked and wondering if Miao Yu was hinting at a breakup. Later that evening, a sudden power outage plunged their apartment into darkness. Wang Chen, startled, bumped into a table. Miao Yu went to check the main switch, only to find the entire neighborhood was without power, confirmed by their neighbor, Aunt Liu. Back inside, by candlelight, Wang Chen declared she couldn't "hold it any longer" and initiated a conversation.

Simultaneously, they both voiced their concerns: Wang Chen questioned the lipstick mark on his shirt, while Miao Yu asked if she had met with Qin Sirui the previous night. The misunderstanding quickly unraveled. Miao Yu explained that if he were truly hiding something, he wouldn't have left "evidence" so carelessly, calling Wang Chen a "silly girl" for her unfounded jealousy.

Wang Chen admitted her own jealousy was misplaced, swearing she hadn't met Qin Sirui and had mistakenly believed the anonymous flowers were from Miao Yu. Miao Yu, surprised, then revealed he had always thought her birthday was February 24th, as mistakenly printed on her ID. Wang Chen clarified that her actual birthday was January 26th, finally clearing up the confusion.

Miao Yu then presented her with a belated birthday gift: a Lego sculpture he had meticulously crafted, specifically designed to appeal to her, knowing her disinterest in generic models. Feeling a newfound clarity, Miao Yu expressed his desire to no longer keep their relationship a secret. He suggested they repost the announcement they had attempted earlier on WeChat Moments.

While Wang Chen expressed concern about how investors like Mr. Yu might react, Miao Yu reassured her that they could effectively balance their personal relationship with their work, asserting that hiding their love only led to misunderstandings. More importantly, he declared his intention to openly acknowledge Wang Chen as his girlfriend to the world, thereby "lowering the chance of her being taken away." They then took a selfie and posted it, publicly declaring their relationship.

Their friends responded with an outpouring of excited messages, celebrating the news. As the evening concluded, Wang Chen, still in her sexy pajamas, asked Miao Yu to take some photos of her. When he questioned who they were for, she explained they were for "us when we are in our 80s," a sweet sentiment that Miao Yu readily accepted.

Episode 20 Recap

After Wang Chen and Miao Yu made their relationship public, they went to Mr. Yu to confess. Miao Yu expressed their willingness to take full responsibility, even though they had previously vowed not to run a "mom-and-pop store." Mr. Yu, understanding of their youth and love, congratulated them and simply asked for their promise that their relationship wouldn't affect their work. Relieved, the couple returned to Fluffeee, where their friends had gathered with celebratory poppers.

Their friends enthusiastically blessed them, urging them to kiss. Later that evening, tired but happy, Wang Chen and Miao Yu settled into their sweet private world at home. Miao Yu, observing how exhausting even a "public declaration" could be, mused on why celebrities often kept their relationships private. The two playfully teased each other. Days of happiness followed.

Miao Yu, preparing for Fashion Week, was diligently working when Wang Chen brought him a special soup made with red bean, tremella, lotus seed, pearl barley, and red jujube to boost his brainpower. While looking for a pen, Miao Yu inquired about another one in their stock cabinet. He eventually found the pen, along with an old, empty perfume bottle. He set the bottle aside, intrigued.

Wang Chen received a phone call from Mr. Hao, who mentioned Miao Yu and insinuated that Miao Yu’s temper might not suit her future, coercing her into meeting him. Wang Chen took the call in private, telling Mr. Hao not to disturb her life again. When they met, Mr. Hao questioned her reluctance to reveal her past, claimed to have missed her, and offered her a chance to return to Walnut, which he now controlled.

Wang Chen vehemently rejected him, splashing water on his face, asserting that Walnut belonged to Miao Yu, not a "thief" like him, and making it clear she had no relationship with him. Mr. Hao, surprised by her newfound assertiveness, calmly wiped his face and provocatively asked if Miao Yu would believe her. Meanwhile, Miao Yu was engrossed in online research for a 100-day anniversary gift for Wang Chen. He decided to call Ling Sansan for advice.

Over the phone, Sansan clearly told him, "Anyway, just don't give her perfume." However, due to an ill-timed sneeze from Bi Guan, Miao Yu misheard her advice as "Perfume is okay," believing it would be an acceptable gift. Ling Sansan, feeling increasingly sleepy and tired lately, quickly ended the call to go home. Miao Yu, recalling the empty perfume bottle he’d found earlier, decided it would be the perfect cherished gift.

That evening, Wang Chen returned home to find Miao Yu asleep on the sofa. Watching him peacefully, all her negative feelings vanished, and she felt immense happiness. For their 100-day anniversary, a significant milestone representing the end of two-digit numbers and the start of three, they exchanged heartfelt sentiments. Miao Yu reminisced about how he initially saw Wang Chen as a "problem" but acknowledged that she alone stood by him through all his failures.

He expressed his luck in having her by his side, ready to face many more "hundred days" together, and excitedly looked forward to their future with Fluffeee. Wang Chen, in turn, confessed her initial dislike for Miao Yu's "paranoia, selfishness, and taste." However, she recounted how his encouragement, like telling her to be herself during a heavy rain and to be hopeful after failed experiments, always supported her through her darkest times.

She presented him with a beautiful portrait of their "family of four." Miao Yu then gifted her the empty perfume bottle, explaining his belief that she must cherish it since she kept it. Wang Chen’s emotions abruptly shifted. She cried "I don't want it!" and fled, overwhelmed. The next day, Miao Yu received an anonymous email from Mr. Hao containing photos of Wang Chen and him, along with an insinuation that Miao Yu didn't truly know his partner.

Deeply troubled, Miao Yu’s friend tried to comfort him, suggesting there was a misunderstanding and urging him to talk to Wang Chen. His friend insisted that intimate relationship conflicts should be resolved immediately, but Miao Yu, identifying as "Lady Meow," felt his "execution force was negative." He struggled to face the situation. Around the same time, Wang Chen confided in Ling Sansan, who was furious that Mr. Hao was bothering her again.

Wang Chen admitted she hadn't told Miao Yu, fearing it would upset him given the ongoing issues with Walnut. She vowed never to see Mr. Hao again. Sansan, understanding Wang Chen’s tendency to internalize problems, advised her to be honest with Miao Yu. She reminded Wang Chen of the past: how she had been harassed by Mr. Hao at Antong, then publicly humiliated and made a scapegoat by his wife, forced to leave her job with a tarnished reputation.

Sansan encouraged Wang Chen to expose Mr. Hao, suggesting she should have "slapped him dizzy" and revealed his actions on social media. Wang Chen returned home to find Miao Yu's laptop open, displaying the email and photos. Miao Yu confronted her, having pieced together some of the truth. He confessed his deep love for her but also his fear of losing her, asking for more time to mentally prepare before hearing her full story.

Wang Chen, apologetic for hiding things, insisted that if Miao Yu was to learn the truth, she wanted to be the one to tell him. In a flashback, Wang Chen recalled her time at Antong as a talented but introverted designer. Mr. Hao praised her skills and invited her to work late. He gave her a perfume bottle as a birthday gift and offered her a ride home, eventually confessing his feelings. Startled, Wang Chen fled.

The next day, Mr. Hao's wife confronted Wang Chen at the office, using misleading photos and the perfume bottle as "evidence" to publicly shame her, accusing Wang Chen of being a "consumable product" to her husband. Wang Chen, facing public humiliation, took the blame and resigned from Antong. Back in the present, Miao Yu expressed his anger, not at Wang Chen, but at himself for not meeting her sooner to protect her.

He reassured her that her past with Mr. Hao was merely an "unpleasant memory," not an "unspeakable experience" to be ashamed of. He dismissed Mr. Hao's anonymous email as a manipulative attempt to sow discord, driven by fear of Fluffeee's success threatening Walnut. Miao Yu asserted that as long as they trusted each other, no one could destroy their relationship.

Wang Chen asked if he had forgiven her, and he affirmed he never blamed her, as she had done nothing wrong. She then tried to discard the perfume bottle, but it was sealed. Miao Yu playfully suggested she could spray it all, calculating the effort required. As Chinese New Year approached, Miao Yu proposed that Fluffeee close its physical store for a few days but continue online brand promotion. He asked Wang Chen to participate in Coli’s live store visit.

Wang Chen readily agreed, stating she would do anything beneficial for Fluffeee and reiterating that even "good wine needs a bush." Miao Yu decided to oversee relevant work himself since he also wasn't going home for the holiday. He explained his plan to use the factory break to accelerate production and speed up new releases after the New Year.

Wang Chen revealed that her single father did not support her entrepreneurial aspirations, preferring a stable job for her, and she wanted to avoid arguments during the festive season. She shared that her mother had remarried when she was ten, and she had grown up with just her father. Miao Yu apologized for not understanding her family pressures and promised to speak with her father to help him recognize and support her talent.

Wang Chen playfully questioned if he was now ready to meet her parents, telling him it "depended on his performance." Before the holidays, Miao Yu discovered that Coli had not only changed the "live visit" to a "recorded show" but had also booked their desired post-holiday release slot. Undeterred, he personally met with Coli, appealing for an earlier recording. Coli initially refused, citing her team's holiday plans.

Miao Yu demonstrated his dedication by revealing he knew her train schedule and offering to handle all aspects of the recording—styling, photography, and editing—himself. Intrigued, Coli challenged him to edit a complex article by the next morning. Miao Yu accepted, stating Fluffeee’s philosophy of striving for the best. Impressed, Coli agreed to visit Fluffeee the day after tomorrow.

Returning home, Miao Yu excitedly shared the good news with Wang Chen: Coli agreed to visit, but they would need to manage all the production aspects. He went to shower but found their shampoo and body wash missing. Wang Chen playfully suggested their pets, Coffee and Lady Meow, might be responsible and offered to buy some. As Miao Yu waited, he heard a knock, expecting Wang Chen who had forgotten her keys.

Instead, he opened the door to a burly man who initially apologized for being at the wrong address. Wang Chen then returned and confirmed the man was her father. Miao Yu, wrapped only in a bath towel, was so flustered during his introduction that he accidentally dropped it. Wang Chen and her father turned away in embarrassment.

Wang Chen's father, unimpressed by Miao Yu's attire, questioned his role in Fluffeee and their living arrangement, deducing that they had been cohabiting before dating. He then criticized Wang Chen for not returning home for the New Year. He invited Miao Yu for a drink, but Miao Yu, needing to work all night on Coli's editing task, reluctantly declined, promising to drink with him the next day.

Wang Chen, trying to ease the tension, offered her room to her father and suggested Miao Yu sleep on the living room couch. Her father, stating he was "not picky," accepted, leaving Miao Yu flustered and stammering.

Episode 21 Recap

After working tirelessly all night, Miao Yu woke up feeling regretful about his performance from the previous day. However, he was relieved that his collaboration with Coli was progressing smoothly.

Wang Chen, confident in Fluffeee’s future, proudly shared their progress, noting their excellent team, including Mengmeng, who provided a camera, reflector, and a simple script, and Luo Li, who, as a devoted fan of Coli, had secured Coli’s team for post-production and even found an old TV station friend to assist. Miao Yu jokingly remarked on the cost of Mengmeng’s year-long nut supply, to which Wang Chen clarified it would be categorized as daily expenses.

Just as Miao Yu was praising Wang Chen’s cleverness, Wang Chen’s father, Wang Chen's Dad, arrived unexpectedly, interrupting their sweet moment. Meanwhile, Li Zhizhi was mailing health supplements home. On the phone, she reassured her parents that she was fine and asked them not to worry about a past incident. She claimed she would be working through the entire Spring Festival and couldn't return, as her rented apartment was conveniently close to her company.

However, she was seen standing wistfully outside her family's home, watching a happy family pass by before turning away in solitude. Elsewhere, at his restaurant, Qin Sirui’s employee, Luca, announced his sudden resignation, declaring he was deeply in love with a Spanish girl he’d only known for three days and was moving to Spain with her. He paraphrased the line, "When Autumn’s Golden Wind embraces Dew of Jades, all other scenes on earth will fade," to express his feelings.

Qin Sirui, despite his surprise, offered his blessings, then revealed his own intention to start anew by renting an apartment, implying a move out of his mother's home. As Miao Yu was cleaning their apartment, Wang Chen and her father returned. Miao Yu, sensing the need for privacy, politely excused himself to continue cleaning outside. Shortly after, Wang Chen received a call from the aunt landlord about overdue rent.

Wang Chen's Dad seized the opportunity to demand that Wang Chen cancel her rental agreement and return home with him. He proposed finding her a stable job and a more reliable boyfriend, asserting that her timid nature made her unsuitable for entrepreneurship. He dismissed her current life as being centered around a "half-dead store" and a boyfriend "who can't even take care of himself."

Wang Chen firmly rejected his dictates, declaring her love for her current life and for Miao Yu. She stated that her choices were based on what she liked, not on fear of failure, but rather fear of regret. She chastised him for trying to control her life with his own "failed life." To emphasize her independence, she immediately paid the rent. Miao Yu, listening from outside the door, heard every word of their heated exchange.

Wang Chen, still upset, described her father as an autocratic and selfish man. Miao Yu, trying to console her, suggested her father's intentions were to protect her. Wang Chen reminisced about her childhood, where her father was a proud figure at the cultural center, teaching her to draw and buying her beautiful dresses. However, after her mother left them for another man, her father became depressed, drank heavily, and grew short-tempered, creating an emotional distance between them.

She wished he could return to his old self but felt helpless. Miao Yu empathized, relating her struggle to his own past doubts after a setback, emphasizing that overcoming challenges made Fluffeee possible. He reassured her that failure is a part of life and promised his unwavering support. The next morning, Miao Yu cleverly pretended to forget his phone, using it as an excuse to return and personally invite Wang Chen's Dad to Fluffeee to witness Wang Chen's interview.

Wang Chen's Dad initially refused, expressing his disapproval of Miao Yu, but Miao Yu passionately argued that it was about Wang Chen’s growth, talent, and hard work to prove herself. Wang Chen's Dad, surprised by Wang Chen's transformation from a timid girl to someone confident enough for an interview, eventually agreed to visit, but chose to wait outside the store during the shooting to avoid making his daughter nervous.

During the interview with Coli, Wang Chen expressed profound gratitude to Miao Yu, her partner, for his support, encouragement, and for inspiring her innovative spirit. Wang Chen's Dad, who had discreetly held a reflector for the lighting during the interview, was later surprised when Coli revealed that Miao Yu had sold his house to fund Fluffeee and had secured this interview by working tirelessly all night for Coli.

That evening, Li Zhizhi arrived at Qin Sirui’s closed restaurant, explaining that she, like him, wanted to be alone and avoid going home. When she addressed him as Ray, he initially claimed not to remember her from their previous encounter, which she found hard to believe given her confidence. However, when she mentioned Miao Yu as someone "unlike those men that day," Qin Sirui’s interest was piqued, and he invited her to sit down.

During dinner, he persistently questioned her about Miao Yu’s character. Li Zhizhi found his curiosity about his ex-girlfriend's current boyfriend tedious, and, noting his wary nature, she decided he wasn't worth her romantic pursuit. She struggled to eat a Napoleon cake gracefully with cutlery, leading Qin Sirui to comment that the cake was "more difficult than me." He then showed her a practical way to eat it with her hands, which she adopted, abandoning her pretense of elegance.

Back at Wang Chen and Miao Yu's apartment, Wang Chen's Dad watched a video of Wang Chen's interview, visibly proud of her newfound confidence and ambition. He apologized for his past harshness, acknowledging her growth and expressing his desire for her happiness. He confessed his fears for her, living alone and facing hardships, and reaffirmed his unwavering support, reminding her that she always had a home and him.

Overwhelmed, Wang Chen also apologized for her previous words, and they shared a heartfelt embrace. Later, while watching TV, Wang Chen's Dad subtly, yet clearly, instructed Miao Yu to "be nice to my daughter," signaling his acceptance. When Wang Chen returned with food, the three sat down for a joyful family dinner. After dinner, as Li Zhizhi and Qin Sirui left the restaurant, Qin Sirui spotted his mother in the distance.

He apologized to Li Zhizhi for having "taken advantage" of her to create a façade for his mother, who he explained was the reason he was starting his independent life. Li Zhizhi, demanding "sincerity" for his apology, challenged him to treat her to the most expensive wine at a nearby bar.

There, two women recognized Li Zhizhi and began to publicly humiliate her, accusing her of tricking men for money and feelings, and sarcastically challenging her to demonstrate her "seducing men" skills on stage. Li Zhizhi defiantly accepted, throwing her belongings to Qin Sirui and confidently taking the stage.

As she began to dance, the music abruptly stopped, but Qin Sirui, like a knight in shining armor, took to a piano on stage and provided a flawless accompaniment, turning her humiliation into a captivating performance. After their impromptu performance, the most expensive bottle of wine was brought to their table, but Qin Sirui’s card was declined due to insufficient funds. Li Zhizhi, for the first time, paid for a man.

Feeling indebted, Qin Sirui asked for her contact information, emphasizing his desire not to owe anyone. As they walked down the street, a little girl selling flowers approached them. Qin Sirui bought the last rose for 100 yuan, allowing the girl to go home for the Spring Festival. Li Zhizhi remarked it was the "cheapest flower I have ever received," to which Qin Sirui responded it was also the "cheapest flower I have ever given."

With their relationship quickly mended, Wang Chen’s father, inspired by his daughter's journey, picked up his paint brushes again and began painting a plum blossom. Miao Yu, though not an art connoisseur, enthusiastically praised his work, showing his newfound appreciation and integration into the family.

Episode 22 Recap

Li Zhizhi carefully placed the cheapest flower she had ever received into water, nurturing it. Meanwhile, Qin Sirui looked at a Napoleon cake, remembering his time with Li Zhizhi and smiling softly. He once demonstrated to her how to eat the cake gracefully, a task she found impossible. On Valentine's Day, Bi Guan and Ling Sansan enjoyed a candlelight dinner, celebrating their first Valentine's Day as a couple, their first as a married pair, and their last before becoming parents.

When Sansan presented him with a pregnancy test, Bi Guan was overwhelmed, unsure how to react. After spending an hour in a daze at the observatory, Miao Yu's timely reminder prompted him to rush home and declare his feelings to Sansan. Initially thinking Bi Guan didn't want the baby, Sansan was overjoyed by his sudden heartfelt confession, where he likened his life before her to the universe's gestation period and her to the moment of its flourishing.

Upon hearing the news, Miao Yu was also surprised and happy for them. At home, Hao Feng was watching an interview with Wang Chen when his wife entered. To undermine Wang Chen, she hired people to post online, falsely accusing Wang Chen of being a mistress. The post, despite lacking concrete evidence, quickly incited public outrage and calls to boycott Fluffeee.

Hao Feng's wife openly admitted to him that she orchestrated the attack because she didn't want to see Wang Chen happy or pretending to be a "start-up rookie." Hao Feng insincerely praised his wife's "wise and witty" decision, feigning disinterest in Wang Chen's troubles. Miao Yu reassured Wang Chen, promising they would find a solution together. Coli was also implicated in the online attacks, with many assuming she had been paid to promote a "mistress," thus lacking integrity.

After she attempted to directly confront some netizens, her personal information was leaked, revealing her real name, Qian Laidi, and her rural background. She was ridiculed and criticized, with people focusing solely on her "ugly" name and origins rather than her professional achievements. Disheartened, Coli announced an indefinite collective vacation for her team, with full pay, stating she needed time to consider if she still wanted to continue in the industry. Her team members were worried about the company’s future.

A woman suddenly stormed into Fluffeee, splashing water on Wang Chen's face. Ken intervened, leading to a physical altercation that ended with both at the police station. The incident further amplified the negative public sentiment. While there, the officer criticized the woman for her vigilante actions and Ken for escalating the situation, eventually asking them to sign papers and hug as a settlement.

When both refused to hug the other, the Fluffeee team members, one by one, offered to hug the woman on Ken’s behalf, showcasing their unity. The officer, impressed, allowed them to leave without the hug. Acknowledging the severity of the situation, Miao Yu decided to publicly confront the cyberbullying on Weibo, despite Mr. Yu's concerns about the strategy. Miao Yu argued that someone needed to stand up and call out the online mob, stating, "This is violence, not justice."

Mr. Yu then suggested that Miao Yu replace Wang Chen as the designer to mitigate the crisis. Miao Yu, however, firmly refused, explaining that Wang Chen had brought him not just the Fluffeee brand, but "another kind of life," and he would not abandon her or the brand. Mr. Yu, emphasizing that "capital is profit-oriented" and "success or failure is very important," consequently withdrew his investment.

On her way home, Li Zhizhi was intercepted by Ray's mother, who invited her to dinner. At the restaurant, Ray's mother had intentionally invited Lena, Ray's childhood friend, to join them. Together, they subtly mocked Li Zhizhi, accusing her of trying to "marry into a wealthy family." Li Zhizhi, known for not tolerating disrespect, calmly listened as Lena questioned if she could afford a new bag if hers got dirty.

In response, Li Zhizhi provocatively dropped her sheepskin bag into the hotpot. She then countered Ray's mother's condescending remarks, asserting that Ray's mother was the biggest "shortcoming" in her son's life and that she had no interest in him. To emphasize her point, Li Zhizhi deleted Ray's WeChat contact right in front of them before departing, leaving Ray's mother shocked and muttering about her son's choice of "tigress" girlfriends. With Mr. Yu's withdrawal, Fluffeee was in a precarious financial situation.

To alleviate Wang Chen's anxiety, Miao Yu took her to watch the sunrise at a park. There, he presented her with a customized necklace resembling Lady Meow. As the sun rose, Wang Chen made a wish for Fluffeee to thrive. They discussed the impending comet collision with Jupiter on March 21, which would return everyone to their original selves. Both Miao Yu and Wang Chen expressed confidence that even if they reverted, their feelings for each other would endure.

Miao Yu playfully asked Wang Chen to pick his clothes for the future, certain she wouldn't dislike him, while Wang Chen confirmed her continued affection for him, even if his taste changed. The financial strain intensified, with Fluffeee having no income for half a month. Their hopes for recovery hinged on the upcoming Fashion Week, but Ken received a call from the organizer informing them that Fluffeee's participation had been canceled due to a joint boycott by netizens.

The team suspected Hao Feng was orchestrating the negative public opinion. Despite the setbacks, Miao Yu encouraged his team, reminding them that "as long as the team is here, hope is here," while ensuring their salaries were paid. Wang Chen then prepared to meet Sansan, who had something to discuss with her.

Episode 23 Recap

Wang Chen, facing the loss of investment for Fluffeee, secretly met with Mr. Yu. She apologized for the negative impact her public image had caused the brand and pleaded with him not to withdraw his funds. Mr. Yu revealed his previous suggestion to Miao Yu to replace the designer, a plan Miao Yu had rejected.

Wang Chen, understanding the public sentiment, bravely offered to step down as the designer, confident that her departure would restore Fluffeee's reputation and prompt Mr. Yu to continue his investment. Mr. Yu agreed, provided the brand's image was salvaged, and acceded to Wang Chen's request to keep their meeting a secret from Miao Yu. Her actions were a selfless sacrifice for Miao Yu and Fluffeee, knowing it would lead to Miao Yu's misunderstanding.

Meanwhile, Qin Sirui, still holding Li Zhizhi's earrings, tried to message her about them, only to discover she had unfriended him. Using a clue from his mother's car records, he tracked Li Zhizhi to her residential area. Li Zhizhi openly admitted Qin's mother had visited and accepted his apology. She playfully reminded him of her preference for luxury cars, but then, surprisingly, chose to ride on his bicycle to her re-examination for her working graduate program.

While Li Zhizhi took her exam, Qin Sirui waited patiently. During this time, Li Zhizhi spoke about wanting to better herself, but Qin Sirui advised against her self-deprecating humor. She also admitted to purposefully not contacting him about her earrings, jokingly fearing she might fall for him. Qin Sirui, whose mother was trying to locate him after he'd left home and his restaurant, stayed with Li Zhizhi through her exams. Later, he took her to dinner, ordering her favorite dishes.

However, Li Zhizhi noticed him looking at a yellow croaker noodle sign, and thoughtfully suggested they eat there, ordering two bowls. Qin Sirui shared that the dish reminded him of a happier childhood, before his father left, when his mother, now a strong businesswoman, cooked it for them.

Qin Sirui confessed that his decision to move out was not to escape his mother, but to help her break free from the "glass cover" of trauma and return to the "sunlight" of true happiness. He explained that he felt compelled to manage her emotions since childhood, which led him to accept her control. Li Zhizhi told him that healing ultimately comes from within.

Their conversation was secretly overheard by Qin Sirui's mother, who, deeply touched by his heartfelt words and longing for her past self, hastily wiped away her tears and left. This intimate sharing was something Qin Sirui had never expressed to Wang Chen, signaling a deeper connection with Li Zhizhi. Driven by her resolution to leave Fluffeee for its future, Wang Chen attempted to provoke Miao Yu into a fight.

After a series of failed attempts to upset him, an argument about a new design escalated. Wang Chen criticized the design as "too advanced" and economically unviable, accusing Miao Yu of disrespecting her work when he defended it. She abruptly declared her intention to break up, stating that without the comet, they were fundamentally incompatible and not meant to be together. Miao Yu, angered, reminded her of his promise to fulfill three conditions when they signed their confidentiality agreement.

She then demanded a breakup as her second condition. Miao Yu mistakenly believed she was abandoning their relationship over a design disagreement. Despite his pleas, arguing that she was the soul of Fluffeee, Wang Chen insisted he was the true soul and could easily find a new designer. She declared her decision was final, stating she was an "arbitrary" person and that as his ex-girlfriend, he no longer had control over her.

Miao Yu was left in disbelief by her firm declaration that they were "not suitable for each other." While Miao Yu sought counsel from Bi Guan at the observatory, attempting to understand Wang Chen's "logic" behind the breakup, Wang Chen recorded a heartfelt farewell message for him. She expressed her happiness during their time together, thanked him for his unwavering support, and shared her belief that she would become a better person.

Citing their confidentiality agreement and the comet's impending departure, she regretfully announced their goodbye, promising to cherish their "silly but valuable moments" forever. She wished him happiness, confident he would lead Fluffeee to success with Coffee by his side. The next morning at Fluffeee, the team, including Ken, Luo Li, and Zhou Xixi, were discussing their recent setback of being excluded from Fashion Week. Miao Yu arrived, and under the influence of Lady Meow, vented his anger on the team.

To apologize, he then delivered the shocking news that Wang Chen had left Fluffeee permanently and that they had broken up, clarifying that she was truly gone. Initially dismissing it as a joke or a temporary lovers' quarrel, the team suggested he coax her. Miao Yu then revealed the secret of the comet and the identity shifts. He admitted the company was in financial trouble and offered to let them leave.

Nevertheless, Ken, Luo Li, and Zhou Xixi all declared their unwavering loyalty to Fluffeee, refusing to abandon the company and believing they could achieve a miracle. Simultaneously, Ling Sansan was frustrated that Wang Chen ignored her messages, even ignoring her own father's calls, leading her to believe Wang Chen was deliberately avoiding them. Bi Guan explained that Wang Chen's silence was likely to prevent her whereabouts from being revealed.

Miao Yu, still deeply affected by Lady Meow's persona, expressed his fear for Wang Chen's safety, reiterating that finding her was his immediate priority. The team desperately tried to find Wang Chen, but she skillfully avoided all attempts to get her address. Ling Sansan was particularly upset that Wang Chen wasn't replying to her, even ignoring her own father's calls, feeling abandoned.

Bi Guan suggested a clever ruse: they would pretend to shoot a vlog and ask Wang Chen to draw a logo for them, requesting she mail it to get her address. During a voice call, Ling Sansan and Wang Zi (a team member) disclosed their fake vlog was about "daily life of lovers" and revealed they were now a couple, hoping to trick Wang Chen. Wang Chen expressed happiness and agreed to draw the logo.

However, Miao Yu deduced that Wang Chen was too astute to fall for such a transparent attempt to get her address. Undeterred, Bi Guan proposed another plan: if the package was returned, the courier would need a return address from the sender. Ling Sansan, impersonating a Yuntong Express courier, called Wang Chen, claiming the package was undeliverable and needed a return address. Wang Chen immediately recognized Sansan's voice but refused to disclose her location.

Sansan, overcome with emotion, cried about being abandoned. Wang Chen then sent Sansan a picture. Bi Guan quickly realized the photo contained embedded geographic data, leading him to pinpoint Wang Chen's location: the coach station. Rushing there, Miao Yu frantically showed Wang Chen's picture to everyone he encountered. A ticket seller, while unable to provide specific details, informed him that Wang Chen's bus was still three hours from departure, giving him a glimmer of hope.

At the coach station, while Miao Yu desperately searched for Wang Chen, a large screen played an interview with Bi Guan, who spoke about the comet's subtle yet profound impact, bringing "unforgettable moments" and happiness to people. Miao Yu, reflecting on how his "Coffee" self always found him, wondered how his "Lady Meow" persona could find Wang Chen now. He finally spotted her. He confronted her, refusing to let go as she struggled, insisting their breakup was real.

Miao Yu, however, saw through her pretense, knowing her departure was a sacrifice for Fluffeee's investment. Wang Chen admitted her fear of being a "stumbling block" to his efforts. Miao Yu passionately declared that he could lose the investment but not her.

He confessed that his love for her had transformed him, making him "stupid" and emotional, a man who secretly watched her at work, found peace in her voice, enjoyed "silly things" with her, and even behaved "like a cat." He realized there was nothing wrong with being "stupid" for her. He reaffirmed his love, regardless of his persona, pleading with her not to abandon their relationship or Fluffeee, and promising to face any future challenges together. Overwhelmed, Wang Chen broke down in tears, and Miao Yu held her close in a tearful embrace, signifying their reconciliation.

Episode 24 (Ending) Recap

Luo Li diligently searched through 89 milk tea shops, finally finding Coli in one, just as Coli had once written in a 2016 article about her preference for quietly spending time alone in such places. Although Coli had been facing a barrage of online negativity, she still had genuine fans like Luo Li. Coli felt disheartened, believing all her past efforts were futile in the face of cyberbullying.

However, Luo Li presented her with years of meticulously kept notes, proving that Coli’s dedicated work had genuinely helped many people, including Luo Li herself. Luo Li, who once came from the countryside dressed plainly, transformed into a fashionable woman under Coli's guidance and inspiration. She implored Coli not to abandon her online presence, emphasizing the profound impact Coli had on her and countless others, providing them with dreams.

Moved by Luo Li’s heartfelt words and unwavering support, Coli finally agreed to resume her work. With Wang Chen’s return having already reinvigorated Fluffeee, Coli’s decision to come back further boosted their spirits. At a team meeting, during which Aken's real name Qin Tianzhu and Coli's real name Qian Laidi were playfully revealed, team leader Miao Yu declared they could no longer afford to delay and must participate in Fashion Week to demonstrate their strength to the public.

Although official slots for Fashion Week were full, they identified a major gathering sponsored by Antong Group as their last chance. Despite the risks of crashing the event, the team felt they had no choice but to take a desperate leap, confident they could turn the tide. To infiltrate the event, Coli managed to secure two VIP invitations, while Ken obtained two press passes through his media connections. The rest of the team planned to sneak in using disguises.

A significant challenge was finding models, as their recruitment efforts through social media and personal networks had failed. Just as Miao Yu and Wang Chen were feeling disheartened on their way home, a group of friends emerged to offer their support. Ling Sansan and Bi Guan, Mengmeng and Wang Zi, and even Aunt Liu with her police boyfriend, Officer Lu, all stepped forward.

Ling Sansan, a former university model club president, declared her readiness despite being pregnant, and even Aunt Liu, proud of her dancing and figure, offered to help. Officer Lu, who once modeled police uniforms in his youth, also volunteered. Their collective enthusiasm and willingness to help reignited Miao Yu and Wang Chen’s hope and strength. On March 21, 2020, as the comet was rerouting towards Mars, the Antong Group’s party began.

Miao Yu and Wang Chen arrived with their invitations, soon encountering Hao Feng. Miao Yu stated that being first no longer held the same importance for him, and he even expressed gratitude to those who had tried to sabotage them, for their actions had inadvertently helped shape Fluffeee and the current strength of his team.

As the team utilized various methods to blend into the event, Miao Yu and Wang Chen, who entered with invitations, were forcibly removed by Hao Feng’s security. Undeterred, they improvised, changing into magician costumes to re-enter. This allowed them to secretly film Hao Feng engaged in an affair. Following Coli’s instructions, relayed by Luo Li, Mengmeng and Wang Zi orchestrated the live broadcast of the incriminating footage directly onto the event’s large screen.

The scene of Hao Feng, a son-in-law of the Antong Group, cheating was exposed to everyone, simultaneously clearing Wang Chen’s name from the earlier false accusations of her being "the other woman" clinging to Hao Feng. Later, Hao Feng's wife, Lu Min, served him divorce papers, leading to his dismissal from Antong Group, and she took over his position. Seizing this moment of chaos, Miao Yu captivated the stunned audience.

He introduced Fluffeee and its designs, with each team member-turned-model confidently showcasing the brand’s strength. The impromptu show mesmerized everyone present. As Miao Yu introduced Wang Chen as Fluffeee’s co-founder and designer, she walked onto the stage to overwhelming cheers and chants of "Wang Chen!" and "Fluffeee!" The immense sense of accomplishment brought tears to Wang Chen's eyes, making her profoundly grateful she hadn’t given up.

Concurrently, Bi Guan’s live broadcast showing the comet was also projected onto the big screen. Everyone joined a countdown, and twenty seconds later, the comet spectacularly collided with Jupiter, disappearing into the vast universe. Those who had been affected by the comet for the past six months instantly returned to normal. Fortunately, contrary to Bi Guan’s earlier predictions, they did not lose any related memories. Later, Miao Yu declined Mr. Yu’s offer to reinvest in Fluffeee.

He sought out Fang Xun, an investor who truly understood and valued Fluffeee’s vision and talent. Meanwhile, Qin Sirui finally enjoyed his mother’s homemade yellow croaker noodles, a long-awaited dish that symbolized a love never truly lost. His mother, who had secretly heard his earlier heartfelt plea for her to embrace happiness, had prepared the meal for him.

The preserved flower and a new friend request on her phone gave Li Zhizhi the courage to let go of her past and rediscover her true self. Bi Guan, ever the unconventional romantic, changed his phone password once again. It wasn't a birthday, but "0410," the date the first image of a black hole in human history was released. This unique gesture provided Ling Sansan with a stable and reassuring sense of security.

Aunt Liu and Officer Lu also embarked on a new chapter in their lives. Reminiscing about how they met, Officer Lu teased Aunt Liu about her "assaulting a police officer" with a big hug, while Aunt Liu playfully blamed his own rules for creating the opportunity. Their friends urged them to hug again, which they happily did. Not to be left behind, Miao Yu and Wang Chen, sitting on a lakeside bench, planned their future.

Miao Yu, in a formal "work" presentation, outlined their upcoming projects for Fluffeee, now that they had secured Fang Xun's investment. When he reached a slide with a blank space for Wang Chen's last remaining condition from their old confidentiality agreement, he proposed. Wang Chen, after playfully asking if his "proposal" could be passed, filled the blank with a single word: "Lifetime," hoping their love would endure forever.

As everything began anew, each person embarked on their own path toward happiness. The story concluded with a reflection, urging everyone to remember the initial beauty within their hearts to dispel all shadows. Life is a journey of many twists and turns, and while love may not be the most important thing in the world, it is undoubtedly the most miraculous, granting people the courage to face sorrow.
