My Heroic Husband Episode 15 Recap
> My Heroic Husband Recap
Ning Yi expressed his desire to coin a heroic alias, proposing "Butcher of Bloody Hands" for himself, before inquiring about his master's name. Lu Hongti revealed her name, which Ning Yi commented sounded "delicious." Without further ado, Lu Hongti demonstrated a series of complex martial arts moves once before vanishing, leaving Ning Yi bewildered and complaining about her brief instruction.
Meanwhile, Su Tan'er's mother, now the wife of Jiangning's wealthiest family, engaged in a Mahjong game with her friends, proudly displaying her elaborate jewelry and the success of her son-in-law. Her joy quickly faded, however, as her friends subtly, then overtly, boasted about their adorable grandchildren, making her long for a grandchild of her own. Upon returning home, she confronted Su Tan'er, urging her to have children.
During their conversation, she unexpectedly discovered that a passage had been opened between Su Tan'er's main room and Ning Yi's wing room, indicating they were sleeping separately. Su Tan'er, feeling helpless, explained that such matters required Ning Yi's consent. Undeterred, her mother assertively ordered Chan to demolish Ning Yi's wing room, believing this would leave him no option but to sleep in the main bedroom. Seeing her mistress's implicit approval, Chan eagerly began dismantling Ning Yi's room.
Unbeknownst to them, Guard Geng, upon seeing the room in disarray, mistakenly believed it was an earthquake and diligently restored it to its original state. This cycle of demolition by Chan and restoration by Guard Geng continued, much to Chan's exhaustion. Eventually, the wing room's ceiling developed two large holes. Ning Yi, witnessing the damage, did not suspect Guard Geng, as they had been together the whole time.
Despite the open roof, Ning Yi remained in his wing room, much to Su Tan'er and Chan’s frustration as they waited in vain for him to move. A chance remark by a servant about the Second Branch's room accidentally catching fire in the past, forcing Young Master Wenxing to share a room with the Old Master, gave Su Tan'er an idea.
She began subtly removing all fire-fighting equipment, like buckets and dippers, from Ning Yi's wing room, feigning the need for repairs. Then, she deliberately set the wing room on fire. From a distance, Ning Yi and Guard Geng watched. Realizing Su Tan'er’s true intention, Ning Yi instructed Guard Geng to delay assisting with the fire, allowing it to burn further before finally calling for help. The fire was eventually extinguished.
Guard Geng lamented the potential loss of his beloved novels, but Su Tan'er calmly revealed that she had already packed all of Ning Yi's belongings, including his books, and even his preserved eggs and kite, in anticipation of this event. Guard Geng found her preparedness "too obvious." Seizing the opportunity, Su Tan'er's mother declared that with Ning Yi’s wing room burnt down, he had no choice but to share Su Tan'er’s room.
Su Tan'er feigned reluctance before agreeing, and Ning Yi, seeing no escape, reluctantly accepted. That night, in Su Tan'er's room, Ning Yi felt awkward. As they prepared for bed, they began to chat. Ning Yi asked about a bottle of "Tiger Wine," and Su Tan'er confirmed she had placed it there. She then took the initiative, pulling Ning Yi down.
Unbeknownst to the couple, Su Tan'er's mother, Chan, Guard Geng, and even Su Tan'er’s father were eagerly observing from the rooftop and courtyard, hoping for the consummation of the marriage. Elsewhere, in Wudu, Prime Minister Qin and Prime Minister Li summoned General Dong and General Wang to discuss a crucial northern expedition against Jing. Qin expressed confidence that the Emperor would soon formally endorse the plan, as the court was weary of the humiliating tributes paid to Jing.
They laid out a strategic two-pronged attack, planning for Generals Wang Bing and Yang Shike to advance along Xizhou and Qizhou, while Dong and Wang would lead cavalry through existing trade routes to surprise Jing's capital. Simultaneously, in the He Mansion in Wudu, the Grand Tutor appeared displeased, hinting at opposition to Prime Minister Qin's military ambitions. The morning after, Ning Yi and Su Tan'er discussed their plans for a "honeymoon" trip to the south.
Ning Yi explained that a honeymoon was the most joyful month a couple spent together after marriage. Su Tan'er, misunderstanding, worried this meant they would separate after a month, but Ning Yi earnestly reassured her that he would always find her, no matter where she went. Su Tan'er insisted on bringing Chan, declaring she wouldn’t go otherwise. Ning Yi, though initially desiring a private trip, conceded. Guard Geng then interjected, volunteering to join them, claiming he could protect them.
Ning Yi initially teased him about his weight and suggested he exercise more at home. However, Guard Geng surprised everyone by displaying an encyclopedic knowledge of southern travel routes, local landscapes, and hidden delicacies. He passionately advocated for a route directly south, culminating in Lin'an City, which he described as one of the richest and most culturally vibrant cities in the Wu Dynasty.
Impressed by Guard Geng's unexpected expertise, Ning Yi enthusiastically appointed him as their official guide, celebrating their upcoming adventure. As Ning Yi and Su Tan'er prepared for their journey, Su Tan'er's mother meticulously packed an excessive amount of luggage, including an entire carriage filled with clothes, beddings, edible bird’s nests, and preserved fruits, making it seem as though they were fleeing a disaster.
Su Tan'er urged her mother to lighten their load, reminding her they would only be gone for half a month and only needed necessities. Just as they were about to depart, the Second Master and his son appeared and called out to Ning Yi.
