DuDu fell ill suddenly in the middle of the night, and with his father, Shi Shaozu, away on a business trip, Ling Xunxun rushed to the hospital after receiving a call from DuDu's nanny. Ling Xunxun stayed by DuDu's side throughout the night. The next morning, DuDu awoke feeling hungry. Just as Ling Xunxun was telling him to wait for Auntie Zhou Quan to bring food, Cheng Li arrived with a variety of breakfast options.
DuDu, curious about the handsome young man, called Cheng Li "Brother," but Cheng Li insisted he call him "Uncle." Ling Xunxun found the situation awkward and pulled Cheng Li aside, explaining that neither he nor DuDu were ready for such an introduction, especially under these circumstances. Cheng Li apologized, admitting he had only considered Ling Xunxun's need for support but didn't consider her child.
He then offered to take the day off to stay with them, to which Ling Xunxun hesitated, suggesting he go to work, but Cheng Li insisted he would take the day off to accompany them. Shortly after, Shi Shaozu arrived. Cheng Li, before leaving, made it clear he was there to bring breakfast to his girlfriend, Ling Xunxun, not just for his car, which he allowed her to use freely.
As he left, Cheng Li watched Ling Xunxun and Shi Shaozu share a laugh with DuDu, who was calling them "Mommy and Daddy," and felt like an outsider. Meanwhile, at the office, Mike and Bao Xiaojing were bickering, as usual. Mike scolded Bao Xiaojing for hiding from a visiting major shareholder.
Their usual bickering ensued, with Mike teasing Bao Xiaojing about her looks and fake designer brands, and Bao Xiaojing retorting that she didn't lack money, but someone to spend it with, even offering to make Mike her 'kept man'. When Bao Xiaojing brought tea to Cheng Li and the shareholder, she accidentally spilled it. The shareholder berated her for her clumsiness, suggesting she was only fit to be a receptionist.
Mike, displeased, stepped in to defend Bao Xiaojing, only to realize, much to his embarrassment, that the shareholder was Bao Xiaojing's father. Bao Xiaojing's father had wanted to set her up with Cheng Li, placing her at the company's front desk. However, she had fallen for Mike instead. Mike quickly made his excuses and retreated from the office, leaving Cheng Li to secretly enjoy the amusing turn of events, relieved he no longer had to be Bao Xiaojing's potential suitor.
Back at the hospital, Shi Shaozu attempted to reconcile with Ling Xunxun, using DuDu as an excuse and arguing that her relationship with Cheng Li was unrealistic given Cheng Li's influential mother and Ling Xunxun's status as a divorced woman with a child. Ling Xunxun firmly rejected his advances, stating that while she wasn't sure about marriage, being with Cheng Li made her feel like she was improving and becoming the person she wanted to be.
As Ling Xunxun left the hospital, she encountered Zhou Quan and Hui Yiwang bringing Mo Yunyun in, who had attempted suicide with sleeping pills. Inside Mo Yunyun's room, Mo Yunyun lashed out, accusing them of coming to gloat.
Zhou Quan, in her fiery and blunt way, challenged Mo Yunyun to live strongly and reclaim her life, even going so far as to offer a lawyer's business card for her divorce case, urging her to hire a good lawyer and get more compensation. Hui Yiwang, trying to ease the tension, had to escort Zhou Quan out, who angrily cursed him as she left.
Later, Cheng Li inadvertently mentioned to Zhou Quan that he had seen Hui Yiwang at a jewelry store with a girl, causing Zhou Quan distress as she feared losing Hui Yiwang forever. Ling Xunxun, drawing on her own experiences, advised Zhou Quan against timidity, urging her to pursue Hui Yiwang with the same fierce determination she applied to her legal cases. Around the same time, Mike found himself awkwardly avoiding Bao Xiaojing after his blunder with her father.
Bao Xiaojing, however, sought him out, insisting that they continue to interact as they normally did, without the formalities that arose from his newfound knowledge of her family status. Meanwhile, Hui Yiwang accompanied Mo Yunyun to a law firm, where Zhou Quan's colleague confirmed that Mo Yunyun's divorce case, involving domestic violence and no prenuptial agreement, was straightforward in terms of compensation.
Ling Xunxun asked Cheng Li for two days off the following weekend to take DuDu out since Shi Shaozu would be on a business trip. Cheng Li suggested they all go together. On the trip, DuDu initially maintained a cool demeanor towards Cheng Li, making Ling Xunxun feel awkward as she tried to bridge the gap. Cheng Li, determined to win DuDu over, caught a doll for Ling Xunxun from a crane machine, boasting about his skills.
DuDu challenged him to a basketball game, offering to play with Cheng Li if Cheng Li could beat Ling Xunxun. Cheng Li accepted, deliberately winning to ensure DuDu would have to play with him. Throughout the day at the amusement park, Cheng Li slowly began to connect with DuDu, and by the time they returned home, both Cheng Li and Ling Xunxun were exhausted but felt the atmosphere had become more harmonious.
Shi Shaozu later called Ling Xunxun, again asking her to return home to care for DuDu due to his demanding business trips. Cheng Li was quick to object, but DuDu's longing for his mother complicated the situation. Shi Shaozu then informed Ling Xunxun about an upcoming parent-child activity at DuDu's school, which required both parents, and mentioned DuDu was supposed to perform a street dance. Ling Xunxun expressed her inability to dance, and Shi Shaozu offered to participate.
However, Shi Shaozu soon called back, claiming an urgent business trip to France would prevent him from attending. Unbeknownst to Ling Xunxun, Cheng Li had orchestrated this trip, arranging for Shi Shaozu to be placed on the itinerary. With Shi Shaozu out of the picture, Cheng Li stepped up, offering to dance with DuDu. DuDu, now more receptive, agreed and even added Cheng Li on WeChat.
Cheng Li spent the following days secretly practicing street dance in his office, much to Ling Xunxun's appreciation, though he claimed it was solely for his own dignity in front of DuDu, admitting he wasn't naturally gifted at dancing. On the day of the parent-child activity, Cheng Li and DuDu performed their street dance, winning a prize and delighting Ling Xunxun.
After the event, as they had dinner, DuDu had a candid conversation with Cheng Li while Ling Xunxun parked the car. DuDu confessed that he liked Cheng Li and saw how happy his mother was with him. He also revealed that his father had suggested Cheng Li was too young and handsome to stay committed.
Cheng Li patiently explained that true love had nothing to do with age or appearance and affirmed his commitment to making Ling Xunxun and those she loved, including DuDu, happy. Touched by Cheng Li's sincerity, DuDu finally accepted him and, sealing their bond, began calling him "Uncle Cheng Li." Cheng Li, elated, then offered to treat them to pizza.
