My Dear Destiny Episode 22 Recap
> My Dear Destiny Recap
Lv Che's marriage to Yu Huan proceeded as planned at the Ji King's residence. Yu Huan, dressed as a bride, felt a heavy mix of emotions at her family home. General Zuo, her father, cautioned her to be exceedingly careful in the Ji King's residence and to avoid outshining others to prevent envy, expressing his profound reluctance to see his daughter marry.
Earlier, Lv Che had met with General Zuo, explicitly stating that his primary reason for marrying Yu Huan was political, warning of consequences should his goals not be met, and setting the wedding date for the fifteenth. Yu Huan had confided in her father that she felt she could no longer back out of the marriage, only able to do so if Lv Che failed in his ambitions.
After bidding her father farewell, Yu Huan departed for the Ji King's residence. However, on their wedding night, Lv Che did not come to her room, leaving her to shed tears alone. That night, Lv Ao, heavily intoxicated, was escorted to the Ugly Lady's (Qiqi's) chambers. In the midst of a wolfsbane attack, he inadvertently scratched Qiqi and consumed some of her blood. Concurrently, Jie’s forces infiltrated the palace, engaging in a skirmish with the guards.
Tai Fei and Ling arrived at the scene, finding Lv Ao kissing Qiqi, his wolfsbane attack completely quelled. Ling was puzzled by his sudden recovery. Wei Xun swiftly intervened, repelling Jie’s men, a testament to Lv Ao's prior anticipation and preparation for the attack. Qiqi, realizing that Lv Ao had used her all along for her blood's curative properties, felt utterly betrayed. Heartbroken by his manipulation, she fled the sleeping chambers in despair.
In the aftermath, Lv Ao secretly instructed his attendants to care for the Ugly Lady and keep a doctor on standby, explicitly asking them not to reveal his concern. Distraught, Qiqi focused on tending to Heng, who had also been injured during the attack. Qiqi expressed fear for Heng’s recovery, a stark contrast to her previous relationship with the maid.
Lian Qiao tried to console Qiqi, reassuring her that Lv Ao genuinely cared, had secretly visited her in the West Yard, and had changed Lian Qiao's mission to solely protect Qiqi. Lv Ao later visited Ranxi court but chose not to enter Qiqi’s room, believing his presence would only cause her further distress, and requested his visit be kept secret.
However, Doctor Wu, while confirming Heng's recovery and Qiqi's need for rest and tonics, inadvertently revealed Lv Ao’s concern and visit. Qiqi initially refused to eat porridge, fearing it might be poisoned, but was eventually persuaded by Lian Qiao to consume the nourishing meal prepared by Lv Ao. Wei Xun and Lian Qiao later engaged in a playful debate, each defending their respective masters regarding who was truly at fault.
Recalling Lv Ao’s exploitation, Qiqi used the messenger bird Wu Ji had left for her, resolving to leave Yiqi and asking him to come retrieve her. Meanwhile, Jie sought refuge in Ling’s chambers, where she attended to his wounds. Wei Xun arrived, leading a search for the assassin. Ling permitted only Wei Xun to enter her room.
When Wei Xun noticed blood on the floor, Ling quickly cut her own hand, feigning it as her own blood, thus successfully concealing Jie’s presence. Although Tai Fei publicly helped resolve Lv Ao's immediate crisis and thwarted the Beicang Tribe's plans, she secretly continued to hope for their success, believing it would pave the way for her own son's ascension to power. Ling and Wu Ji were inseparable. Wu Ji attempted to persuade Ling to return, explaining their incompatibility.
Ling dismissed his words, asserting that since they had shared intimacy, she would take responsibility for him, and slept on a cushion beside his bed. In a bustling town, Wu Ji, with Ling accompanying him, actively searched for Qiqi, showing her portrait to a vendor. Ling playfully teased him about his "old flame" Qiqi, prompting Wu Ji to warn her that shouting Qiqi's name could endanger her.
They later observed a street performance, where Ling, witnessing a boy steal food, intervened with compassion, leading to a heartwarming exchange with the boy's family. The next morning, Ling awoke to find Wu Ji gone, and the Witch Power that had previously bound her had also disappeared. Later, Wu Ji reunited with Qiqi, providing her with new clothes. Qiqi found comfort in his company and even requested Yiqi's fine cosmetics, which he agreed to provide.
She expressed her happiness to be with him, but he subtly hinted at her eventual freedom. Lv Ao learned Qiqi had left the city. Disregarding Wei Xun's warnings, he ventured out alone to find her. Ling, seizing the opportunity, deliberately informed Tai Fei of Lv Ao's departure, prompting Tai Fei to instruct Lv Che to ambush Lv Ao. Wu Ji and Qiqi encountered San Floral, and Wu Ji confronted her, urging Qiqi to escape.
In the outskirts, Qiqi was rescued by Lv Ao, but they soon fell into an ambush orchestrated by Lv Che. Wei Xun arrived just in time, allowing Lv Ao to take Qiqi and flee. They managed to evade their pursuers, but during an ensuing argument, Qiqi accidentally fell into a marshland.
