Upon returning to class, a remarkably transformed Kang Jiawei approached Xu Jingjing, who was busy copying her holiday homework. Stunned by his new, handsome appearance, Xu Jingjing tried to convince herself it was a dream, but the reality was undeniable. Fulfilling the terms of a bet they had made, Kang Jiawei began calling her "Dobby," relentlessly teasing her about the copied homework.

Xu Jingjing, in turn, accused him of being cunning, revealing that the popular "Master Kang's exploration of new shops" online account was a ruse orchestrated by him; he had asked his father to post reviews using his account, instructing him to write in a youthful style to gain followers.

Their exchange was interrupted by Mr. Chen, who was amazed by Kang Jiawei's significant weight loss and praised him as a "diamond in the rough" before urging them to get to class. As the new semester began, seats were assigned based on academic performance. While Kang Jiawei and Gao Zhan selected their old spots, other students hesitated to choose the seat next to the newly popular Kang Jiawei.

Xu Jingjing soon discovered why: he had placed a "domesticated elf" label on the adjacent desk, designating himself as the master. Left with no other choice, she was forced to sit beside him. Xu Jingjing felt miserable, contrasting his newfound handsomeness, slim physique, and academic improvement with her own status as last in class.

However, there was a glimmer of hope: because Kang Jiawei had helped her pass her math exam, she might be exempt from Mr. Zhang's mandatory tuition class, which would allow her to finally reopen the Taekwondo Club. Xu Jingjing attempted to use a "clothing trick" from a movie to gain freedom from Kang Jiawei's master-elf dynamic, but he saw through her ploy.

Instead, he assigned her the first task as his "elf": managing the constant flow of gifts from his growing fanbase. When she refused, he blackmailed her by threatening to tell Mr. Zhang about her unfinished homework, forcing her to comply. Her hopes for the Taekwondo Club were then dashed when Mr. Zhang informed her she needed to pass three consecutive major exams to be excused from the tuition class.

Desperate, Xu Jingjing spread a rumor among Kang Jiawei's female admirers that he had an incurable disease and could no longer eat gifts, causing them to withdraw out of sympathy. When Kang Jiawei questioned the sudden drop in attention, she confessed, and he admitted the trick was effective. He then confided in her about his own new trouble: he felt like a stranger in his own body and was still unaccustomed to his transformed appearance.

Meanwhile, Kang Jiawei hesitated to reveal his true identity to his online friend, a girl also named Xu Jingjing, with whom he bonded over a shared love for Wes Anderson's films. His hesitation grew when she reaffirmed her preference for "interesting souls over good appearances" and mentioned she was going to basketball training. At a team meeting, Gao Zhan expressed concern about the upcoming game against Class 6, as he couldn't participate due to hurdling training.

Kang Jiawei seized the opportunity, volunteering to join the team to make up for last semester's loss, asserting his skill was no longer hindered by his weight. During the game, Niu Junfeng from Class 6 taunted Kang Jiawei about his past. Determined, Kang Jiawei played exceptionally well, and a cheer from his classmate Xu Jingjing unexpectedly amplified the crowd's support.

Later, a cheer for Gao Zhan from the online Xu Jingjing momentarily distracted Kang Jiawei, leading to a scuffle with Niu Junfeng. In the final moments, with the ball in Kang Jiawei's hands, both his classmate and his online friend cheered for him, and this time, he made the winning shot. After the victory, members of Class 6 confronted Kang Jiawei's team. During the standoff, Kang Jiawei suddenly stumbled and collapsed, causing his opponents to flee in fear.

While his teammates thought he was faking, his classmate Xu Jingjing noticed his hands trembling before he collapsed again. He lightheartedly revealed he had severe hypoglycemia but dismissed its seriousness. Despite his nonchalance, she urged him to take his condition seriously, offering him candy before he left for a celebration party. Later, as other school clubs busily recruited new members, Xu Jingjing felt despondent about her Taekwondo Club's uncertain future.

Gao Zhan approached her, reminding her of their agreement from last semester, and knowing he wouldn't simply agree to her leading the club, she challenged him to their promised duel. A betting pool began for the match, with most students betting on whether Gao Zhan would even show up. Kang Jiawei surprised everyone by boldly betting five cups of Haagen-Dazs on Xu Jingjing winning. She confronted him, incredulous and full of regret for challenging the formidable Gao Zhan.

However, Kang Jiawei sincerely encouraged her, reminding her of the strength and confidence she displays when doing what she loves, just as when she fought the bullies. He told her that her passion makes her shine and that impressing everyone, including Gao Zhan, was more important than the outcome. Xu Jingjing was taken aback by his earnest words. Just then, Gao Zhan arrived, and the anticipated match began.
