> My Calorie Boy Recap

Jingjing awoke from a dream where she was confessing her feelings, only to be roughly pulled out of bed by her mother, who scolded her for staying up late drawing emojis. In the background, her father enthusiastically rehearsed his wedding emcee speech. To evade her mother's questions about her upcoming midterm exam results, Jingjing escaped the house after receiving payment for her "Pipi" emojis.

Arriving at the breakfast stall, Jingjing found her favorite fried pancakes sold out and the buns requiring a ten-minute wait. Spotting a male student, Kang Jiawei, with a tray of buns, Jingjing offered him double the price for them. Kang Jiawei refused, philosophically stating that food has a "soul" and their meeting was "destiny." Their brief confrontation ended with both of them tumbling to the ground, where Kang Jiawei's back got comically stuck to an unposted "Fried Pancake" sign.

As they walked towards school in embarrassment, they encountered Gao Zhan, Jingjing's longtime crush, who kindly suggested they get new uniforms from the school supply room. At the school supply room, Jingjing and Kang Jiawei got stuck in the doorway, creating a spectacle for the teacher. They explained their need for new school pants, but the XXXXL size for Kang Jiawei was a special order and not in stock. Just then, Xu Jingjing arrived to collect cheerleading uniforms.

Upon learning of Kang Jiawei's predicament, she offered to retrieve a large pair of sports pants from the basketball team for him. After changing into new, ill-fitting uniforms, Jingjing was eager to forget the ordeal. However, her friends, Lu Xiaobai and Wang Jiayao, encouraged her to seize the opportunity to thank Gao Zhan, reminding her that he had only spoken to her ten times since high school began.

Inspired, Jingjing approached Gao Zhan's desk, but her attempt to thank him devolved into nervous stammering until the class bell rang, with Gao Zhan amusedly noting her "fourteen lines" of dialogue. As class began, the teacher announced the arrival of a new transfer student: to Jingjing's shock, it was Kang Jiawei. The teacher then announced a seat rearrangement.

Xu Jingjing attempted to secure a seat next to Gao Zhan, but he politely refused, explaining that he was already sitting with their classmate Wei Xue, prompting Xu Jingjing to choose a seat strategically close to him instead. Ultimately, Jingjing, who was at the bottom of the class, was left with no choice but to sit next to Kang Jiawei, who was revealed to be the top student from his previous school.

Jingjing's snarky remark about Kang Jiawei's weight earned her a stern warning from the teacher. During class, the teacher chastised the students for their poor midterm math scores, pointedly highlighting the lowest grade. Jingjing feigned innocence, but Kang Jiawei, observing her test paper, spotted an error. He pointed out to the teacher that her use of "my hands are tied," though marked wrong, was a correct expression found in TOEFL vocabulary.

This correction reversed her last-place standing, transferring the "honor" to Ni Dapeng. Now free to choose her seat, Jingjing shrewdly decided to remain next to Kang Jiawei, claiming it was for better study, but secretly intending to leverage his academic prowess. To seal the deal for homework-copying privileges, Jingjing offered him a sheet of her "Pipi" character stickers, declaring them a "global exclusive limited edition" and even offering her autograph.

Later, Kang Jiawei encountered Xu Jingjing and offered her a drink as a thank you for her help. He paused upon noticing the "Stranger Things" bracelet on her wrist. Xu Jingjing explained that she had made the bracelet herself, making it one of a kind. Meanwhile, Jingjing shared her plan with her friends: she wanted to attend the upcoming basketball game and make Gao Zhan his favorite matcha red bean milk tea.

Her friends were skeptical, pointing out that Gao Zhan had recently been walking Xu Jingjing home from school. They advised Jingjing to focus on improving her grades as a more practical way to get closer to Gao Zhan. Jingjing insisted her goal wasn't to "do anything specific," but simply to ensure Gao Zhan remembered her as more than just another fan. During Mr. Zhang's strict math tuition class, Jingjing and Ni Dapeng's attempt to sneak out was immediately thwarted.

Later that evening, Kang Jiawei returned home to a meal prepared by his father, who was away for work. Alone, Kang Jiawei logged onto his computer to chat with his online friend, "Mayonnaise with Rice," who he now suspected was Xu Jingjing after seeing her bracelet. He asked her about the "Stranger things" bracelet, and she confirmed it was her own creation.

He hinted at meeting a "very pretty and kind" girl at his new school, then cautiously asked his friend if she would mind if he were a "200-jin fatty." Her reassuring response, "good-looking people are everywhere, but an interesting soul is one in a million," brought him some relief. The next morning, Kang Jiawei surprised Jingjing with breakfast.

He then unexpectedly offered his homework for her to copy before revealing his true request: he wanted her to use her image editing skills to touch up some photos, clarifying he didn't want to be made thinner. Meanwhile, with Ni Dapeng needing to attend tuition, the basketball team was short-handed, and Kang Jiawei volunteered to join.

Despite initial skepticism due to his build, he impressed the team by easily scoring five shots and demonstrating a thorough understanding of their opponents' strategies and key players. Back in Mr. Zhang's class, the questions were challenging, but with Kang Jiawei's help, Jingjing completed all ten problems.

She then dramatically excused herself to use the restroom, snatching her bag and dashing to her mother's shop to prepare the matcha red bean milk tea for Gao Zhan before rushing to the basketball court. During halftime of the intense match, Jingjing hurried to offer Gao Zhan the special milk tea. However, she found Xu Jingjing already there, offering Gao Zhan an Oolong tea.

Gao Zhan politely declined Xu Jingjing's offer and, to Jingjing's delight, chose her matcha red bean milk tea. As the second half began, Gao Zhan suddenly clutched his stomach and looked toward Jingjing. Mistaking his pained gaze for admiration, Jingjing enthusiastically made a large heart gesture back at him. Moments later, Gao Zhan called a timeout, revealing that Jingjing's milk tea had upset his stomach, forcing him out of the game. To the cheers of the crowd, Kang Jiawei was subbed in to replace him.
