Fang Zhiyou pulled Xu Yiren to a secluded spot and apologized for having claimed she was his girlfriend without her consent. When she dismissed his actions as just another "slip," he impulsively kissed her again, then immediately apologized for being so forward. He formally confessed his feelings for her, admitting his previous claims of "slips" and "settings" were a clumsy attempt to hide his affection because he didn't know how to express it.
As Xu Yiren tried to escape by feigning urgent work, Fang Zhiyou blocked her path, admitting his jealousy whenever he saw her with Li Zhe. He then sincerely asked her to be his girlfriend. Xu Yiren hesitated, citing their boss-employee relationship and company rules against office romance. Fang Zhiyou, in a determined manner, unilaterally abolished company rule number 26, which prohibited such relationships.
He candidly admitted his inexperience with romance was why he had acted so rashly and asked for her forgiveness. Xu Yiren voiced concerns about her inability to guarantee she would never lie, given his strong aversion to dishonesty. However, Fang Zhiyou declared that she had become his "uncontrollable exception," stating he only wanted to cherish every present moment with her, regardless of the future. Deeply moved, Xu Yiren accepted.
She then proposed they keep their relationship a secret for the time being to avoid office gossip and complications with her aunt and uncle's impending visit. Fang Zhiyou agreed to consider her request but warned her that being his girlfriend would come with its own challenges. Meanwhile, Gu Bo rushed to the hospital after learning his friend Xia Di had been in a car accident.
He found her with a leg injury, using crutches, and lovingly carried her to her ward. Xia Di explained she was injured while chasing a thief on her motorcycle after he snatched a girl's bag. Gu Bo admonished her for her recklessness, expressing his profound fear upon hearing about the accident. Xia Di reassured him that she had no fractures and only needed rest.
She also made a point of telling him she had informed him about her hospital stay before anyone else, highlighting his importance to her. Gu Bo then went to get her some food. Considering her desire to study architectural design, Xu Yiren found the course fees exorbitant. She overheard a colleague, Miss Xiang, mentioning that many students audit classes taught by renowned professors without formal enrollment, as long as they do not disrupt the class.
This gave Xu Yiren an idea to save money. After work, Xu Yiren waited for her colleagues to leave before meeting Fang Zhiyou. As she was about to join him, their colleague Liu Tianyang bumped into her. Flustered, Xu Yiren claimed she was going home but pointed in the wrong direction. Fang Zhiyou stepped in, quickly shielding Liu Tianyang's view with a folder and kissing Xu Yiren.
Inside the office, Fang Zhiyou playfully pushed her onto a desk, but she urged him to be calm, wary of being discovered. Later at home, Xu Yiren worried about Shiyu finding out about their relationship, but Fang Zhiyou revealed that his sister already knew, stressing that Shiyu was his only remaining family. Xu Yiren cautiously inquired about his relationship with his father.
He recalled how his father's actions had ruined his best friend's family, and admitted his own naive trust had made him complicit in Li Zhe's suffering. He had tried to compensate Li Zhe over the years, but Li Zhe now only sought to inflict the same pain he once endured. Fang Zhiyou's willingness to take responsibility for his past mistakes led Xu Yiren to see a more relatable side of him, bringing them closer.
Shiyu then announced she was moving back home because her father had returned. Before leaving, she gave Xu Yiren her "Mr. Bunny" toy, advised her not to meddle in the conflict between her brother and their father, and openly acknowledged their relationship, asking Xu Yiren to take good care of the "idiot" brother who had such a hard time finding a girlfriend. Meanwhile, Li Zhe was drinking alone at a bar when He Yuwen approached him.
She expressed her desire to see him and Xu Yiren together, even offering assistance. Li Zhe, however, revealed that Fang Zhiyou and Xu Yiren were already in a relationship. He Yuwen was visibly shocked by the news and departed abruptly. Xu Yiren informed Fang Zhiyou of her plan to attend a lecture by the celebrated designer Guo Xudong at Chengji University. Fang Zhiyou revealed that Guo was his junior and offered to teach her himself.
Xu Yiren countered that a talented designer isn't always a good teacher and that he was too busy. Stung by her comments, Fang Zhiyou secretly arranged to substitute for Guo Xudong's lecture. During the class, Fang Zhiyou's handsome appearance and composed demeanor captivated the students, who eagerly sought his contact information afterward. Fang Zhiyou, however, looked at Xu Yiren and stated that getting his WeChat ID depended on her permission.
As students wondered about her identity and she began to explain she was his assistant, Fang Zhiyou interrupted by pulling her into an embrace and kissing her, publicly confirming their relationship.
