After some hesitation, Wu Anwen agreed to the terms, which included shared password control, ensuring the account could only be accessed when both were present.
Later, Wu Anwen was heard on the phone adamantly declining an invitation to a poker game, stating he had quit gambling for good. Concurrently, Jialan presented a well-researched pitch at the news department about the declining credibility of news in the age of self-media. Recognizing the project's complexity, she humbly requested her editor assign it as a collaborative team effort, believing this would maximize its potential to become impactful news. Later, Jialan excitedly had He Zhengyu buy a lottery ticket with numbers she claimed to have seen on his computer from the future. She vividly described her plans for the 10-million-yuan prize: renovating her grandmother's B&B, settling Wu Anwen's debts, sponsoring a child's education, and buying gifts for all their friends, including a house for him.

He explained that Wu Anwen had accidentally hit her during a heated argument with Wu Jirong on their way home from the divorce court hearing. He suggested these intertwined events were a destined opportunity for them to alter their fate. As fireworks lit up the sky, Jialan recalled watching them with her father. The next day, Jialan discovered that none of the lottery numbers matched, causing her to panic that fate was unchangeable. Despite Jialan's warnings, he signed the agreement, insisting she also sign as a witness.
