Lin Hangjing was deeply distraught, blaming herself for the negative impact on the girls' school due to the recent scandal. Chengyu, however, absolved her of blame, instead apologizing for having hastily introduced Qiao Jiang without a thorough background check. Both women were perplexed about Qiao Jiang's true identity and his elaborate scheme to damage Lin Hangjing's reputation, especially since the incident had now escalated, affecting both the military and the school.

Chengyu suspected Qiao Jiang's primary goal was to sow discord between Lin Hangjing and Xiao Beichen. She urged Lin Hangjing to set aside her stubbornness and reconcile with Xiao Beichen, warning that continued conflict would only play into their enemy's hands. Lin Hangjing admitted her difficulty in facing Xiao Beichen and that anger had led her to say hurtful things. Chengyu advised her to explain the situation clearly to him and quickly devise a solution.

Later that night, as heavy snow fell, Xiao Beichen sought solace in alcohol, venting his frustration to Zheng Fengqi about his uncertainty regarding Lin Hangjing. Zheng Fengqi suggested that Lin Hangjing merely saw Qiao Jiang as a substitute for Mu Zizheng, implying her feelings were not genuine. This angered Xiao Beichen further, causing him to smash his glass.

Zheng Fengqi then implored him to turn around and see her, hinting at someone who had always silently loved him, expecting nothing in return but a glance. As Xiao Beichen began to leave, Zheng Fengqi embraced him from behind. Lin Hangjing, observing this from a distance, let her umbrella fall and left without a backward glance. Xiao Beichen, ignoring Zheng Fengqi, immediately chased after Lin Hangjing. Lin Hangjing, heartbroken, walked a long way through the snowy streets.

Xiao Beichen frantically searched for her, spotting her dropped scarf. When he overheard news of a car accident, his heart raced with fear, only to find the victim was not Lin Hangjing. She had been silently watching him from behind and rushed to him the moment they made eye contact. Xiao Beichen confessed that it was because of her that he realized the absurdity of his past and found meaning in his survival on the battlefield.

He declared that her feelings for him didn't matter, as long as they could be together. Lin Hangjing, looking at him, reiterated that there was nothing between her and Qiao Jiang and that she had never betrayed him. Xiao Beichen, believing her without hesitation, embraced her and sealed their reconciliation with a kiss in the snow. To demonstrate his unwavering trust, Xiao Beichen brought Lin Hangjing to the military barracks.

In front of all his soldiers, he publicly defended her honor, declaring his absolute faith in his wife and vowing to hunt down and severely punish those who had slandered her. Later, he rewarded her for boosting his prestige among the troops with her favorite osmanthus candy, feeding her a piece before giving her a sweet, candy-flavored kiss.

Unable to be with the man she loved, Zheng Fengqi tormented herself, telling her father that life held no meaning without Xiao Beichen and she would rather die. Her father, witnessing her profound anguish, vowed to seek justice for her and ensure the Xiao family regretted their actions, reaffirming his decision to join Mo's father and Kang Jingxiong's conspiracy. Meanwhile, Xiao Beichen had issued a city-wide warrant for Qiao Jiang.

With nowhere to run, Qiao Jiang secretly met with Zheng Fengqi, confessing that he had framed Lin Hangjing out of his love for her and pleading for them to escape to France together. Zheng Fengqi coldly refused and manipulated him into performing one last task for her, a trap that resulted in his death. Meanwhile, Mu Zizheng's wounds healed rapidly. Jin Rouke continued to favor him, despite her father Jin Cheng's skepticism.

One day, while dining at a Western restaurant with Jin Rouke, Jin Cheng observed Mu Zizheng, who quickly noticed something amiss with a hidden bomb. During the subsequent assassination attempt, Mu Zizheng bravely shielded Jin Cheng and Jin Rouke, taking a bullet. Later, Jin Cheng, grateful for Mu Zizheng saving his life, offered to grant him a wish. Mu Zizheng, however, insisted he only wished to repay Jin Rouke for saving his life earlier.

Jin Rouke then proposed that Mu Zizheng remain and work for her father, openly expressing her admiration for his courage and loyalty. Jin Cheng, understanding his daughter's affection and recalling his past mistakes in interfering with her relationships, relented. Despite his lingering concerns about Mu Zizheng's true intentions, he agreed to let him stay at their home after he recovered.

The investigation into Qiao Jiang abruptly ended when Xu Zijun and Mo Weiyi located his body under Anguang Bridge, confirming he had been silenced by Zheng Fengqi. They informed Xiao Beichen that Qiao Jiang's entire identity, including his family background and pharmaceutical company, was fabricated, and his charitable donations were merely a ploy to gain an introduction to Chengyu.

With the only lead, a commemorative stamp on a photo, proving too vague, Qiao Jiang's death left them without further clues, leading Xiao Beichen to suspect a powerful individual behind the conspiracy. In their meeting, Mo's father kept the specifics of Kang Jingxiong's trap for Xiao Haishan vague from Zheng's father, promising details when his cooperation was needed.

A soldier then urgently summoned Xiao Beichen to Xiao Haishan, who revealed that the Suiling Eighth Brigade had rebelled, raiding Jingyuan and causing a refugee crisis. Jin Cheng had specifically ordered Xiao Haishan to personally lead the army to suppress them. Xiao Beichen offered to go in his father's place, but Xiao Haishan firmly stated it was a military order he must obey.

Before departing, Xiao Haishan urged Xiao Beichen to cherish Lin Hangjing and lead a harmonious life, reminding him that all military power would eventually pass to him. Despite his concern for his father's safety, Xiao Beichen could not dissuade him. Madam Qi, deeply worried, packed numerous supplies for Xiao Haishan, fearing he would not eat or sleep well.

She confessed that despite her fearless reputation, she was constantly filled with anxiety every time he went to battle, worrying for "her man, Xiao Haishan," not just the invincible Commander Xiao. He promised to return home safely. Xiao Haishan personally led his troops into battle but was soon surrounded by the Suiling Eighth Brigade and Ningchuan Ninth Brigade at Eagle Beak Hill, unable to break through.

His subordinates reported heavy losses and dwindling forces, advising against his plan to lead from the front. Defiantly, Xiao Haishan declared that morale demanded his presence. Meanwhile, Xiao Beichen received urgent news that his father was encircled. He immediately prepared to lead Xu Zijun and Mo Weiyi to Suiling, enlisting Du Heng for a special task.

At the same time, Zheng's father, despite some hesitation, ultimately did not dispatch his troops to aid Xiao Haishan, affirming their treacherous objective to ensure Xiao Haishan would not return alive. Mo's father dismissed his concerns about potential repercussions, asserting that with no official orders for reinforcement and all messengers dead, there would be no proof against them. Soon, Xiao Beichen, along with Xu Zijun and Mo Weiyi, arrived at the headquarters.

Mo's father and Zheng's father informed him they had been unable to breach the enemy's encirclement. They explained that the enemy had strategically bombed the headquarters to cut off communications and killed the herald Wu Tianbao, hindering timely reinforcement. Xiao Beichen accepted their explanation but declared his resolve to personally confront the enemy, instructing Mo's father and Zheng's father to reinforce the headquarters' defenses while he led his men forward.

On the battlefield, Xiao Haishan was ambushed and sustained a gunshot wound. As enemy forces advanced, demanding his surrender and offering to spare his life, Xiao Haishan defiantly buttoned his uniform, preparing to fight to the death with his remaining soldiers, rather than yield. The enemy commander began a countdown, threatening to open fire if he didn't surrender.
