Love Formula Episode 7 Recap
> Love Formula Recap
Han Yansheng was puzzled when he realized the message he had sent to Jian Dan regarding their tutoring session was not on her phone. Jian Dan, however, dismissed the issue, already touched by Han Yansheng's promise to help her with her thesis. They agreed to meet at a cafe daily for an hour of tutoring. Monkey excitedly messaged Shi that "Han" had taken the bait, indicating their plan was successful.
Shi, who was bringing breakfast pasta to Gu Entong, was also pleased. Gu Entong, however, seemed bothered when she heard about Han Yansheng helping Jian Dan, questioning what "Sheng" had to do with it. During their tutoring sessions, Han Yansheng proved to be exceptionally brilliant, flawlessly recalling specific page numbers for thesis resources, topic selection rationales, literature search methods, formatting guidelines, and keyword searches from his past papers.
Jian Dan was thoroughly impressed by his encyclopedic knowledge and clear instructions, which significantly accelerated her thesis writing. She even playfully acknowledged his strict teaching method, remarking that "respecting your teacher is a virtue" after he told her to keep quiet and listen. Concurrently, Monkey found himself in an embarrassing situation at a noodle shop when he realized he forgot to pay for multiple bowls of Luosifen he had claimed were for Jian Dan.
Yuan Sen, who was also there, covered the cost for him. Jian Dan worked tirelessly on her thesis, often staying up late. For their final session, Han Yansheng found her asleep at her desk. He gently woke her, reminding her that the submission deadline was the next day. Jian Dan confirmed her thesis was finished and ready for his final review.
Han Yansheng meticulously reviewed her work, suggesting areas for more precise descriptions and even playfully chiding her for using her phone, calling it a distraction. Once satisfied, he instructed her to submit the paper online. Soon after, Jian Dan realized that the phone Han Yansheng had given her was not an old model, but a coveted latest-model device.
She immediately transferred a portion of her earnings from a part-time job to him as a down payment, promising to pay the rest later. He casually accepted. Meanwhile, Mi Fen was anxious about the upcoming online cosplay competition, especially since Yuan Sen, her idol known online as "Prince Luo Shui," hadn't uploaded his work. Her tarot reading indicated "setbacks but a good outcome."
She soon discovered that Yuan Sen's custom-made fur collar, essential for his costume, had been damaged at the factory and nearly discarded. The only tailor skilled enough to fix it was out of town, and with the deadline looming at 10 AM the next morning, Yuan Sen believed he couldn't compete. Mi Fen, having learned sewing in her high school cosplay club due to budget constraints, bravely volunteered to help.
She spent all her money on new materials and worked through the night, meticulously sewing. When she finally handed the perfectly repaired costume to Yuan Sen, she was faint from exhaustion and low blood sugar. Thanks to her efforts, Yuan Sen, as Prince Luo Shui, won first place for the fourth consecutive year. Overjoyed, Mi Fen accepted his offer to grant her one wish.
Having spent a significant portion of her monthly allowance on his costume, Mi Fen resorted to selling her beloved figurines online to cover her living expenses, affirming that her efforts for her idol were "worth it." Han Yansheng and Jian Dan continued their intellectual exchange through notes left in a copy of "Hypatia." His friends, including Monkey and Shi, were increasingly curious about this mysterious "math expert," speculating she might be a stunning beauty.
Han Yansheng, however, downplayed their suggestions, stating he was simply meeting a pen pal, not going on a blind date. Monkey insisted that meeting someone of the opposite sex online was, in essence, a blind date. Han Yansheng agreed to meet his book friend at the library at 7 PM. Gu Entong was particularly invested in this meeting, pestering Monkey for every detail. She voiced her low expectations, imagining a "dull," glasses-wearing math department girl.
Concurrently, Mi Fen needed to deliver figurines to an online buyer downtown, but her phone battery died. Jian Dan, heading to the library, kindly lent Mi Fen her phone, mentioning it had no passcode. Shortly after, Mi Fen encountered Yuan Sen, who, upon learning she was meeting a male online contact, remembered Monkey's previous remarks about online meetings being like blind dates.
Concerned for her safety, Yuan Sen insisted on accompanying her to the pizza place where she was meeting the buyer. He appeared nervous, as if preparing to confront a rival, but relaxed when he realized the online contact was merely there to purchase the figurines. After the transaction, Mi Fen and Yuan Sen left, inadvertently leaving Jian Dan's phone behind at the pizza place.
Han Yansheng arrived at the library at the appointed time, a slight smile on his face as he spotted the "Hypatia" book still on the bookshelf. Just then, his own phone rang. A male stranger on the other end explained that his girlfriend had accidentally left her phone at the pizza place and asked Han Yansheng to come pick it up. This unexpected call forced Han Yansheng to leave the library before his anticipated meeting.
