Upon learning that Jian Dan had come to find him, Han Yansheng eagerly rushed out of his classroom to search for her. After looking around and failing to spot her, he felt a pang of disappointment. Just then, Jian Dan's voice called out from behind him. He turned to see her standing there, holding a cake box. Overjoyed, he hurried towards her.
With a warm smile, Jian Dan told him she had read his psychological assessment report and understood he had deliberately distanced himself because he feared being a burden. She reassured him, saying they still had many treatment options to explore, and even if he couldn't overcome his fear of water, it was acceptable because she could swim and would always protect him.
She also mentioned listening to the voice recording he had sent her, emphasizing that the past was behind them and he should no longer hide anything from her. Han Yansheng acknowledged that she knew everything. Jian Dan then presented him with a birthday cake she had made in Jiang Zhishan's kitchen, apologizing for it being slightly damaged. Despite its appearance, Han Yansheng assured her he loved it. Jian Dan then leaned in and kissed him, revealing her "second gift."

Gu Entong then excused herself to the restroom, followed shortly by Jian Dan. In the restroom, Jian Dan confronted Gu Entong directly, stating she knew Gu Entong had taken the recorder. Gu Entong initially feigned ignorance and surprise, claiming she had long given up on Han Yansheng and had no reason to cause trouble.
However, Jian Dan revealed her evidence, explaining that the paint on Gu Entong’s phone perfectly matched the paint on the climbing wall in the Rock Climbing Club. Seeing her deception exposed, Gu Entong became distraught and confessed, defiantly asking what Jian Dan could do. She argued that she had known Han Yansheng since childhood and grown up with him, and Jian Dan’s appearance had unfairly stolen him away.
Han Yansheng, who had overheard, walked over and firmly told Gu Entong that even without Jian Dan, he would never have liked her, as he had always considered her only a friend. After Han Yansheng and Jian Dan departed, Gu Entong was left alone and distraught. Shi then approached her, his voice heavy with sadness. He told her that her repeated acts of harming others had changed her from the person he once knew.
Gu Entong, desperate, pleaded that she only acted out of fear of losing Han Yansheng. Shi continued, explaining that her recent closeness to him, which everyone had misinterpreted as a reconciliation, was merely a tactic to conceal her true intentions. He expressed his disappointment that after all her wrongdoings, she still showed no remorse, and asked what she had gained from her actions.
Gu Entong, tearfully admitting her mistakes, begged him not to leave her, emphasizing that he was the only one she had left. However, Shi gently pulled his hand away and left without a word. Later, Shi sent a message to his friends, informing them that he had already departed for a volunteer teacher program and requested that they not see him off, as he wished to avoid an emotional farewell.
Gu Entong, filled with profound regret, later visited the coffee shop where Shi once worked, reflecting on his sincere devotion. As Gu Entong prepared to move abroad, she met with Han Yansheng to make a confession she felt she had to reveal before they might never see each other again. She admitted that she bore significant responsibility for Nan Yuan's death, revealing a painful secret she had kept for too long.
She recounted that on the day of the incident, when she went to pick up three oxygen tanks, she inadvertently selected two that were marked "To Be Repaired" and defective. One of these was given to Han Yansheng, and the other to Nan Yuan. She expressed deep remorse for keeping this secret and selfishly allowing him to shoulder the blame, apologizing to Han Yansheng.
She also confirmed that she was the one who had left yellow roses on Nan Yuan's death anniversary, finally feeling a sense of release after revealing the truth. Han Yansheng listened, then stated that it was pointless to assign blame after so much time had passed, urging them to look forward. He felt Nan Yuan wouldn't want to see them dwelling in sadness. Inspired by this revelation, Han Yansheng resolved to pick himself up and fulfill Nan Yuan’s dream.
With Jian Dan’s unwavering support, Han Yansheng successfully completed the rigorous assessment and earned his certificate for the water rescue volunteer team. He then visited Nan Yuan's memorial, placing the certificate before it, declaring that he had fulfilled Nan Yuan's long-held dream and hoped he had no more regrets.
Jian Dan also spoke to Nan Yuan, introducing herself as Han Yansheng's girlfriend and assuring Nan Yuan that Han Yansheng had worked incredibly hard to achieve his dream, and that she would continue to be there for him. Han Yansheng and Monkey, along with their classmates, were graduating. Jian Dan and Mi Fen arrived to attend the graduation ceremony.
Mi Fen helped Jian Dan with her makeup, with Jian Dan jokingly expressing nerves about her eyebrows, recalling a past makeup mishap. Rushing to enter the auditorium, they were briefly stopped by a guard because they weren't wearing graduation gowns. They explained their boyfriends were inside, and soon Monkey and Yuan Sen arrived to vouch for them, allowing them to enter. Inside, Han Yansheng, as the valedictorian, was delivering his speech.
He began by expressing heartfelt gratitude to their teachers for their guidance and dedication over the past four years, calling university the best time of his life. He then turned his attention to Jian Dan, publicly confessing his love for her. He spoke about how meeting her transcended his love for mathematics, making her the most beautiful thing in his life.
He recalled their shared experiences, from arguments to fireworks and volunteer work, and thanked her for supporting him through his darkest moments. He likened her to a mirror that showed him his flaws and to sunlight that warmed his heart, praising her bravery that inspired him to become a better and more courageous version of himself. He concluded by declaring her his "Hypatia" and proclaiming his love for her. After the ceremony, the friends celebrated their graduation.
Monkey, impressed by Han Yansheng’s public declaration, joked about how to match it, while Mi Fen contentedly noted she had Yuan Sen. The couples, including Jiang Zhishan and Monkey, and Mi Fen and Yuan Sen, savored their last moments together, taking photos around campus and exchanging heartfelt gifts, with Mi Fen and Yuan Sen celebrating their 520-day anniversary. Jian Dan and Han Yansheng reflected on their journey, reminiscing about their initial "wrong foot" encounter and how their love had blossomed.
They promised to always stay together, no matter the challenges ahead. Jian Dan then asked Han Yansheng if he would have a summer break. He explained that a company he had previously interviewed with had contacted him, and he would be starting work soon. Jian Dan expressed disappointment, realizing that his grandmother’s invitation for them to visit Shenmu Village would have to be postponed. Summer arrived, and Jian Dan found herself bored at home.
One day, her grandmother asked her to catch some fish from the river, mentioning they would have guests. Jian Dan, noting it had been eleven days since she last saw Han Yansheng, asked who was coming, but her grandmother playfully told her it was a surprise. At the river, Jian Dan caught a koi and, making a wish, hoped to see Han Yansheng that very day.
Suddenly, she heard his voice calling her name from a boat in the middle of the river. Overjoyed and surprised, Jian Dan cried out his name. Eager to reach her, Han Yansheng immediately dove into the water.
