At the Swimming Club, Gu Entong complained to Han Yansheng that she felt unwell, experiencing sudden dizziness and temporary vision loss. She asked him to take her to the rest room, but once there, she insisted she would be fine after taking her pills and asked him to leave. Unbeknownst to her, Yue Tangtang was also at the Swimming Club to drop off documents.
From a window, Yue Tangtang observed Gu Entong secretly replacing the pills in her medicine bottle with Vitamin C tablets. Later that night, Yue Tangtang experienced severe abdominal pain. Jian Dan, Mi Fen, and Jiang Zhishan rushed her to the hospital, where a doctor diagnosed her with appendicitis requiring minor surgery. After the procedure, Jian Dan volunteered to stay with Yue Tangtang overnight, sending her friends home as they had class the next day.
The next morning, Yue Tangtang woke to find Jian Dan by her side. Although touched, she stubbornly declared she wouldn't thank her. Jian Dan replied that she expected no thanks, believing Yue Tangtang would have done the same for her. Yue Tangtang then asked Jian Dan to buy her some Vitamin C. Soon after, Han Yansheng called Jian Dan, concerned about her absence from the rock climbing club. Misunderstanding that Jian Dan was ill, he rushed to the hospital.
Relieved to find her fine, he playfully chided her for not letting him finish speaking. When he asserted his role as a "qualified boyfriend," Jian Dan retorted that he was hardly qualified, given how infrequently they saw each other. Han Yansheng offered to take her out, but their plans were interrupted. In her room, Yue Tangtang took her Vitamin C and remarked on how similar different pills looked, sparking an idea in Jian Dan's mind.
Meanwhile, Shi, having been asked by Han Yansheng to find an expert for Gu Entong, learned from Professor Wilson that a psychological evaluation report was needed. However, Gu Entong claimed to have lost the report and refused to get a new one, insisting she felt better. This was suspicious, as her official depression test results had already come back normal.
Frustrated by Gu Entong constantly monopolizing Han Yansheng's time, Jian Dan decided to accompany Han Yansheng when Gu Entong requested his presence at the beach. There, Gu Entong asked Jian Dan to take photos of her and Han Yansheng. Jian Dan deliberately took only individual shots, refusing to capture them together. Instead, she made affectionate gestures with Han Yansheng, prompting Gu Entong to take a photo of them.
Feeling awkward, Han Yansheng called Shi to join them before making a quick escape with Jian Dan. Later, Jian Dan saw Gu Entong taking her pills and definitively recognized them as Vitamin C tablets. She immediately told Jiang Zhishan, who devised a plan to expose the deception. Following their plan, Jiang Zhishan invited Gu Entong to a café.
Jiang Zhishan then engineered a distraction, sending Gu Entong to check on their coffee order, and quickly retrieved the medicine bottle from Gu Entong’s bag, confirming it contained Vitamin C. To prevent Gu Entong from fabricating an excuse, Jiang Zhishan insisted they wait for Han Yansheng’s arrival before confronting her. When Han Yansheng arrived, they accused Gu Entong of faking her illness. Gu Entong, appearing distressed, accused them of framing her.
Jiang Zhishan snatched the bag and produced the bottle, asking Han Yansheng to verify its contents. To their shock, Han Yansheng confirmed the pills were genuine antidepressants. As Gu Entong became more distraught, Han Yansheng comforted her, leaving Jian Dan and Jiang Zhishan bewildered. Later, Jian Dan asked Han Yansheng if he believed her. He reassured her, saying he unconditionally trusted his girlfriend. Meanwhile, Shi confronted Gu Entong, urging her to stop her deceit.
He revealed that he knew she was faking her depression to win back Han Yansheng and confessed to switching her medicine bottle at the café. Having overheard Jian Dan and Jiang Zhishan's conversation, he had orchestrated a barista spilling coffee on Gu Entong's bag, using the moment to swap her Vitamin C with genuine antidepressants to protect her from being exposed. He pleaded with her to confess the truth to Han Yansheng herself.
Unaware of Shi's intervention, Han Yansheng contacted Gu Entong's father, Mr. Gu, to discuss her "illness." Taking the matter seriously, Mr. Gu arranged for Gu Entong to take a leave of absence and see a top international psychologist arranged by Han Yansheng's father. When he informed Gu Entong over the phone, she panicked, insisting she couldn't leave Han Yansheng. Pressed by her father about her illness, she blurted out that it was all fake and she wasn't sick.
As she desperately tried to explain, she offered to send her psychological evaluation report as proof. At that moment, Han Yansheng, Jian Dan, and Jiang Zhishan appeared behind her, having overheard her entire confession.
