After watching a video message left by Granny Fu Shun, the group learned that she had anticipated Xu Guanghan's cleverness and the current situation. She revealed that she had prepared an "ultimate trump card"—evidence sufficient to prove Xu Guanghan's guilt, which she hoped they would obtain soon to defeat him. Initially, Lu Xiao mistakenly suggested the evidence was love, but the others quickly dismissed it, confirming Granny Fu Shun wouldn't joke about such a serious matter.
They began searching the room, and soon after, a printer dispensed a sheet of paper with several lines of numbers. Lu Xiao questioned if these were the evidence. Jiang Kele, whose father is a seafarer, recognized the first two sets of numbers as latitude and longitude coordinates, while "8171" could be a password or a book's serial number. Plotting the coordinates on a map revealed the location as the Future Library.
Since it was getting late, they decided to spend the night in the cabin and head to the library the next day. Secretary Cui arranged the sleeping arrangements, with Lu Xiao sharing a room with Jiang Kele, Luo Ke with Su Lie, Xu Nian with Guan Qianya, and himself alone. Meanwhile, Xu Guanghan visited Granny Fu Shun, who lay unconscious. He recalled a childhood memory where Granny Fu Shun had taken him in.
Young Xu Guanghan had asked why his parents betrayed him, to which she explained they might have betrayed each other, not him. He then asked if she would betray him, and she had promised to be with him forever. In the present, Xu Guanghan felt Granny Fu Shun had betrayed him. He told the unconscious Granny Fu Shun that he hadn't reached his goals and she should stop meddling.
The doctor attending her assured Xu Guanghan that Granny Fu Shun was strong and would soon regain consciousness under his treatment. Xu Guanghan then asked if her memory could be erased, and when the doctor said no, he ordered that she be kept in her current state. After the doctor left, Xu Guanghan commanded Granny Fu Shun to stop pretending, but she remained unresponsive. That night, Guan Qianya couldn't sleep.
Xu Nian also found himself awake and sought to sincerely apologize to Guan Qianya for his actions in the game, specifically for compromising with Xu Guanghan. He pledged that no matter what Xu Guanghan and Lei Na did in the future, he would always stand by her side. Guan Qianya acknowledged her own mistake in trying to appear strong and concealing her vulnerability, emphasizing that honesty and mutual trust were essential for them to overcome challenges together.
They both apologized, resolving their lingering issues. The following morning, Zhang Yang reported to Xu Guanghan that he couldn't find the group, despite searching Guan Qianya's office, her house, Fu Shun's house, and Secretary Cui's house; they seemed to have vanished. Xu Guanghan inferred they were hiding and instructed Lei Na to gather all of Granny Fu Shun's data. At the cabin, the group was enjoying breakfast prepared by Secretary Cui.
Secretary Cui then showed them a post from Yao Inc. falsely claiming that their cleaner, Granny Fu Shun, had been injured by four imitators and was in a coma. Concerned for Granny Fu Shun, they decided to rescue her from what Xu Nian believed was Xu Guanghan's house, after seeing it in the game. However, they realized that all seven of them going together would be too obvious and risky.
They decided to split up: Lu Xiao and Jiang Kele would proceed with the original plan to search for the evidence at the library, Xu Nian and Guan Qianya would go to Xu Guanghan's house to save Granny Fu Shun, Secretary Cui would prepare communication equipment and self-defense tools, and Su Lie and Luo Ke would stay at the cabin and remain vigilant.
Xu Guanghan, analyzing Granny Fu Shun's travel data and GPS, discovered that apart from Bayhouse, Yao Inc., and her own house, she frequently visited a specific wooden cabin in the suburbs. He immediately dispatched Zhang Yang and his men to search that location. Meanwhile, Xu Nian and Guan Qianya arrived at Xu Guanghan's house but noticed his men observing all entrances. They narrowly avoided a trap involving a wheelchair delivery and quickly left.
As Zhang Yang's men approached the suburban cabin, Secretary Cui spotted them and alerted Su Lie and Luo Ke to escape. Xu Nian and Guan Qianya, unable to rescue Granny Fu Shun, were also forced to flee back towards the suburban cabin, encountering Zhang Yang's men pursuing Secretary Cui and the others. Xu Nian engaged the pursuers to cover Guan Qianya's escape. Secretary Cui sustained a leg injury during the chaos.
Xu Nian, having drawn the pursuers away, was eventually surrounded by Zhang Yang's men. Guan Qianya instructed Luo Ke and Su Lie to take the injured Secretary Cui to a safe place, giving them contact numbers. Secretary Cui later sought refuge with his ex-wife, Li Xinyi, who helped them settle down and assured Guan Qianya of their safety.
Guan Qianya then headed to the library to meet Lu Xiao and Jiang Kele, although they had already left after finding the evidence; she also believed Xu Nian would meet them there. At the library, Lu Xiao and Jiang Kele first checked lockers for the "8171" code but found none matching. They then turned their attention to the books and successfully located a book titled "Secret" with the serial number 8171.
However, the book appeared ordinary and contained no immediate evidence. Believing the evidence might be within its content, they decided to borrow it to read carefully. As they left the library, they were spotted by Zhang Yang's men and had to run to escape the pursuit. After successfully evading their pursuers, the librarian confirmed that a man and a woman had just borrowed a book from the 8171 series.
Back at the cabin, Zhang Yang reported their escape to Xu Guanghan, expressing frustration at their failure to apprehend the group. Xu Guanghan then observed a device within the cabin. It bore the name "Jiang Kele, Store Assistant," and also displayed Granny Fu Shun's familiar message, "My dear children," signifying the extent of her careful planning over the years, including planting Jiang Kele within his company.
