Distraught and reflecting on Xu Nian's harsh words and his act of stealing her phone from the previous night, Guan Qianya sought solace in alcohol, drinking heavily early in the morning. Leaving a friend's bar, she hailed a taxi, intending to go to a subway station and use a secret passage to reach Bayhouse to find Xu Nian. Zhang Yang, sent by Xu Guanghan to follow her, trailed closely, reporting her movements in real-time.
Guan Qianya, heavily intoxicated, began to vomit near the entrance to the secret passage. Observing this, Xu Guanghan concluded he had overestimated her, deeming her useless. He instructed Zhang Yang to stop following Guan Qianya and instead focus on Granny Fu Shun. However, the vigilant Granny Fu Shun had already sensed she was being watched and worried if Xu Guanghan had discovered something. At Bayhouse, Jiang Kele was seething at Xu Nian, who acted as if nothing had happened.
She sarcastically remarked on how he now received his salary from his father and, in front of Su Lie and Luo Ke, revealed that Xu Nian was Xu Guanghan's son. Su Lie and Luo Ke were astonished, questioning if they could still address Mr. Xu as their father. Lu Xiao quickly intervened, sending Jiang Kele away and instructing Su Lie and Luo Ke to join him for data collection, leaving Xu Nian alone.
Soon after they left, Guan Qianya emerged from the secret passage, fueled by alcohol. She loudly demanded Xu Nian return her phone, accusing him of betraying her and stealing it to gather evidence for his father. Xu Nian tried to calm her, asking if anyone had followed her through the tunnel. He promised to explain everything when he brought everyone out that night. Meanwhile, Xu Guanghan, noticing Xu Nian hadn't come for data collection, sent Lei Na to find him.
Lei Na, upon finding Jiang Kele, learned that Xu Nian was Xu Guanghan's son, a fact already known to everyone in Bayhouse. As Xu Nian led Guan Qianya back into the secret passage, Guan Qianya, still emotional, called him "scum" and believed he wouldn't have broken up with her face-to-face if he hadn't needed her phone. She slowly calmed down, leaving the tunnel and wondering if Xu Nian had his own reasons for his actions.
Zhang Yang, who had earlier abandoned his pursuit of Guan Qianya, felt something was off about the subway station and turned back to investigate. Fortunately, Granny Fu Shun, who was worried about being monitored by Xu Guanghan, managed to distract Zhang Yang, preventing him from seeing Guan Qianya emerge from the tunnel.
Guan Qianya initially suspected Granny Fu Shun, but Granny Fu Shun revealed her identity as Xu Guanghan's aunt, a former project manager and director of Bayhouse, and stated she had secretly dug the tunnel during the facility's construction. She explained she had saved Guan Qianya because they shared the same goal: freeing the four people from Bayhouse.
Granny Fu Shun also revealed her friendship with Jiang Kele was strategic, designed to help Jiang Kele discover Lu Xiao's family background and thereby awaken him to his situation so he could free everyone. Impressed, Guan Qianya understood Granny Fu Shun's plan. Granny Fu Shun gave Guan Qianya her contact information, offering help if needed.
Later, Xu Guanghan spoke with Xu Nian, offering him the position of his successor and promising freedom for his friends if Xu Nian remained loyal and revealed everything he knew, including outside contacts and evidence. Xu Nian feigned compliance, asking for more time to consider. However, upon returning, he immediately discussed their escape plan with Lu Xiao.
They decided that Luo Ke and Su Lie were not ready for the truth and would need to be tricked into leaving Bayhouse first. Once outside, they planned to contact Guan Qianya. Knowing Jiang Kele was upset with him, Xu Nian asked Lu Xiao to convince her to contact Guan Qianya and keep her phone accessible. That night, Lu Xiao and Xu Nian easily persuaded Luo Ke and Su Lie to join them, claiming they were going to a bar.
Eager to go out, Luo Ke and Su Lie agreed without suspicion. At the appointed time, Lu Xiao and Xu Nian opened the secret passage, leading Su Lie and Luo Ke through. Su Lie and Luo Ke, still believing they were going to a bar, asked many questions as they navigated the dark, cramped tunnel. Upon emerging from the passage, they were bewildered by the deserted nighttime street, mistakenly believing it was the end of the world.
