Lin Mo, facing rejection from a restaurant due to her hearing impairment, was offered a job at Sun Pharmacy by Aunt Guan. Doctor Sun, overjoyed at recovering his sense of taste, hired Lin Mo, recalling her from when he treated Jing Xiu’s eyes. Lin Mo proved to be a diligent worker, prompting Doctor Sun to inquire about Jing Xiu’s eyes, suspecting a poison injury, though he currently had no solutions.

When Lin Mo asked about his own recovery from taste loss due to poisoning, Doctor Sun attributed it to his medical research and acupuncture trials, though unsure of the specific method. He offered to consult his medical books and consider acupuncture for Jing Xiu. Before Lin Mo left for the day, Doctor Sun insisted she take the money from the peaches she had brought, which he had sold.

Meanwhile, after Jiuchen was summoned back to the Heavenly Palace, Wuwan was left behind. Jing Xiu, sensing its presence, attempted to scare it away. Wuwan then encountered Zhu Zizai, a daoist, and his disciple Bao Suozhu. Zhu Zizai, recognizing Wuwan as a spiritual beast, attempted to persuade it to cultivate with him. However, Bao Suozhu’s attempt to capture Wuwan resulted in a broken arm, and Wuwan fled to Lin Mo.

Mistaking Zhu Zizai and Bao Suozhu’s intentions, Lin Mo believed they meant to harm the "little dog" and took Wuwan home, naming it Xiaobai and intending for it to keep Jing Xiu company. During dinner, Lin Mo remembered Siming's prophecy about meeting a destined benefactor and wondered if Jing Xiu was this person. In the Heavenly Palace, Siming informed Jiuchen about Ziguang's inquiries regarding Jiuchen's medicine dosages.

He cautioned Jiuchen that the God of Heavenly Thunder was growing suspicious, advising him to remain in the Heavenly Palace, avoiding the mortal world. Jiuchen agreed, but his gaze lingered on a passing Zhuri Bird, reminding him of Lingxi. Later, Shisan and Huayan discussed Lingxi’s fate. Shisan wondered if Lingxi had been sent to the mortal world, but Huayan reminded her that Lingxi was killed by Jiuchen on the Purple Cloud Platform, making reincarnation impossible.

Shisan resented Yuan Tong for exposing Lingxi. Yuan Tong, having lost her standing in the Heavenly Palace, was urged by Duyu to return to the Eastern Seas with him. Yuan Tong doubted that the Eastern Seas' Water Monarch would still acknowledge their union. Shisan interrupted their conversation and challenged Yuan Tong to a duel, taunting her and accusing her and her brother Yuanzheng of tarnishing their family's reputation through their evil intentions.

Despite Duyu's attempts to intervene, a fight ensued, resulting in Yuan Tong’s severe injury and the destruction of the Yuan Clan’s ancestral temple. News of the confrontation reached the Heavenly Emperor. The Immortal Lord of Universal Turn informed Jiuchen of Shisan's transgression, stating that her actions demanded punishment. When Jiuchen and Siming arrived at the Purple Cloud Platform, Siming attempted to intercede on Shisan’s behalf, but Shisan openly admitted her desire for further confrontation.

Sentenced to ten lashes, she provocatively demanded more, leading the Immortal Lord of Universal Turn to order an additional twenty lashes. Jiuchen grounded Shisan for reflection, and she requested to be grounded in Siming Hall, where Siming offered to apply medicine to her injuries. At Sun Pharmacy, Lin Mo discovered a junior assistant mistakenly dispensing black ginseng instead of dried rehmannia. She discreetly informed Aunt Guan, who intervened. Doctor Sun later reprimanded his assistant.

Learning that Lin Mo had acquired some medical knowledge from her father, Doctor Sun promoted Lin Mo to dispense medicines at the counter, reassigning the negligent assistant to copy medical scriptures in the back room. Aunt Guan was delighted at Lin Mo's opportunity to learn medicine directly from Doctor Sun. The Heavenly Supreme Lord summoned Jiuchen after learning from the Heavenly Emperor about Jiuchen’s actions to preserve Lingxi’s life.

He reprimanded Jiuchen for acting out of personal bias rather than impartiality. He reminded Jiuchen of his responsibility as his primary disciple, destined to inherit his sect and protect the Six Realms, and stated that he would not permit Jiuchen to sacrifice himself for anyone.

Sensing an impending disaster, the Heavenly Supreme Lord warned Jiuchen that if Lingxi failed her three trials, he would retrieve the Farmer God’s Cauldron and exchange it for the Nuwa Stone Heart, causing Lingxi’s spirit to dissipate, and told Jiuchen not to blame him. Jiuchen promised to ensure Lingxi safely passed her trials. As Jiuchen departed Heavenly Lord Mountain, Yuan Tong followed him to the Immortal Cleansing Pond.

Kneeling before him, she confessed her past mistakes, including hiding her brother’s military report and implicating Jiuchen, and pleaded for his forgiveness. She declared that she no longer desired to be a Heavenly General or to restore her family’s prestige, wishing only to remain by his side. When Yuan Tong expressed disbelief that Jiuchen harbored no affection for her, Jiuchen coldly explained he merely "happened to pass by."

He then revealed he was reflecting on Lingxi's pain after Yuan Tong pushed her into the Immortal Cleansing Pond, and admitted he was restraining his desire to push Yuan Tong into the pond as well. Yuan Tong was devastated. In the Dark Capital Mountain, the Demon Lord summoned Zhonghao, demanding an update on Lingxi’s whereabouts. Zhonghao reported that despite intensifying the search, he had found no news, though he believed she was in the mortal world.

The Demon Lord, furious, reminded Zhonghao that he must find Lingxi before the Blood Moon rises and the gate of the Spirit-Binding Abyss opens, as he intended to personally welcome his army on that day, marking the culmination of his plan.
