Madam Lin was deeply distressed upon learning that the adopted infant, who had been brought into their home, suffered from a congenital hearing disorder. Overwhelmed by anxiety, she decided to smother the baby with a pillow. Just as she was about to act, the room's window suddenly flew open, startling her into dropping the pillow and rushing to investigate. Although Qingyao had hoped this would deter Madam Lin, she saw no one outside and returned, intending to proceed.

Qingyao, therefore, appeared before her, advising that children are a blessing and fate is rarely perfect. She warned against fostering resentment or murderous thoughts that would accumulate negative karma, suggesting it was better to accept fate and cultivate good karma instead. With her words delivered, Qingyao vanished. Still shaken, Madam Lin later saw her husband, Lin Shaohai, return, unaware of the afternoon's events.

He joyfully fed the baby and officially named her Lin Mo, calling her A'Mo and noting that she seemed to respond to the name. Meanwhile, Zhonghao discovered that the black lotus, which sealed the Demon Lord, had not closed, indicating that Lingxi was still alive. He immediately ordered Qinyuan and another subordinate to capture and bring her back, stating that both he and the Demon Lord needed her.

At the Lin household, Old Madam Lin erupted in fury upon hearing of A'Mo's congenital hearing disorder, wailing about the misfortune that had befallen their family. Lin Shaohai and Madam Lin immediately knelt to placate her. Old Madam Lin seized the opportunity to once again suggest that Lin Shaohai take a second wife. Madam Lin visibly flinched at the suggestion, feeling an increased emotional distance from A'Mo.

Back in the Heavenly Palace, Qingyao hurried to Fuyun Hall to inform Jiuchen that Lingxi had developed a hearing disorder in the mortal world. Yunfeng, upon hearing this, lamented Lingxi's terrible luck, remarking that a child born with such an affliction would likely face an incredibly difficult life. Jiuchen immediately rose, intending to descend to the mortal realm himself.

However, Siming quickly intercepted him, reminding him of the strict Heavenly Law prohibiting interference with mortal affairs or arbitrarily altering mortal lifespans, which would not only harm Lingxi but also cause a backlash for Jiuchen. Jiuchen brushed off Siming's concerns, asserting that he knew his limits, but instructed Siming to investigate whether Lingxi's condition was a fated tribulation or the result of external interference.

Yunfeng also attempted to join, but Qingyao stopped him, doubting his medical abilities, though Yunfeng insisted on his skills. Using demonic aura, Zhonghao successfully tracked Lingxi's whereabouts and set out with Heichi to capture her. Concurrently, Jiuchen arrived in the mortal world. He heard passersby mention sesame-paste pancakes and remembered Lingxi's past wish for them and spicy tripe from their time in Polar Abyss.

With this memory, he appeared at a vendor's stall, bought a pancake, and found its taste quite good. By this time, Zhonghao and Heichi had neared the Lin family residence, but Jiuchen detected their presence and immediately cast a spell to conceal Lingxi's trace, causing the demons to lose her trail. Jiuchen then pursued them. Zhonghao and Heichi arrived at Witch Mountain, realizing their tracking smoke had lost Lingxi's scent. Just then, Jiuchen caught up to them.

Zhonghao, fearless, taunted Jiuchen, proclaiming that Lingxi was destined to be the Demon Lord's ultimate sacrifice. Jiuchen retorted coldly that Zhonghao would not live to witness that day. Heichi charged first but was swiftly repelled by a single palm strike from Jiuchen. Zhonghao, relying on his Demon Blade, barely managed to exchange a few blows with Jiuchen. Jiuchen then summoned his Ancestor's Sword, striking down both Zhonghao and Heichi.

The immense power of his attack cleaved a vast fissure through Witch Mountain, flattening the entire peak with its residual energy. At this point, High Immortal Peng appeared, limping and visibly distraught. He desperately pleaded with Jiuchen to stop, initially believing Jiuchen was after him.

Upon learning Jiuchen was battling demons, he launched into a tirade about his tragic plight: he had been peacefully drinking tea in his cave when calamity struck from the heavens, injuring his leg and leveling Witch Mountain. He questioned what kind of mountain deity he could be without his mountain. Jiuchen dismissively stated it was merely an oversight. Infuriated by Jiuchen's lack of remorse, High Immortal Peng vowed to take his complaint to the Heavenly Palace for justice.

Following this confrontation, Jiuchen went to A'Mo's room and used his immortal powers to suppress the demonic aura that had been drawn out within her. High Immortal Peng caused a scene at Lingxiao Palace, tearfully lodging a formal complaint against Jiuchen to the Heavenly Emperor. The God of Heavenly Thunder exacerbated the situation, also criticizing Jiuchen's excessive use of power. The Heavenly Emperor, left with no choice, accompanied High Immortal Peng to Fuyun Hall to confront Jiuchen.

Jiuchen truthfully reported that he had encountered two Demon Tribe remnants and inadvertently destroyed Witch Mountain during the struggle, adding that they had escaped and he had dispatched his subordinates to apprehend them. The Heavenly Emperor acknowledged the importance of capturing the demons, authorized the God of Heavenly Thunder to assist Jiuchen, and instructed Jiuchen to prepare a substantial gift to apologize to High Immortal Peng, thus concluding the matter. Jiuchen ordered Yunfeng to completely surround Dark Capital Mountain.

He expressed concern that Zhonghao might still be alive and, given State Master Lingyue's severe injuries at Purple Cloud Platform, advised Yunfeng to closely monitor the Shanling Tribe to prevent Zhonghao from exploiting any vulnerabilities. Yunfeng, however, dismissed this, trusting that State Preceptor Jingxiu's presence would prevent Zhonghao from gaining an advantage. Yunfeng then raised a more pressing concern: Jiuchen's uncharacteristic destruction of Witch Mountain.

He speculated that the loss of the Nuwa Stone Heart might be affecting Jiuchen's control over his magic and his very life. Jiuchen simply assured Yunfeng of his well-being. Yunfeng acknowledged that he could not prevent Jiuchen from saving Lingxi, but he declared that if Jiuchen's strength ever failed, he would retrieve the Farmer God's Cauldron, an action Jiuchen would be powerless to stop.

Duyu arrived at Polar Abyss with Yuanzheng's Heart Assembling Nail, requesting an audience for Yuan Tong with Jiuchen. Yuan Tong, though severely beaten, remained unrepentant, claiming Qingyao had poisoned her mind. She insisted that Lingxi inherently possessed demonic aura and that she was merely following orders. Jiuchen was incensed by her continued distortion of the truth.

He contrasted her with Yuanzheng, whose demonic corruption was an inadvertent result of the heavy slaughter he undertook for the peace of the Six Realms. Yuan Tong's corruption, however, Jiuchen declared, stemmed from her own heart's insidious desires. He reminded her that he had given her many chances, but her excessive ambition led to the ruin of both herself and the Yuan Clan.

As Jiuchen prepared to leave, Yuan Tong angrily demanded if his hatred stemmed from her killing Heavenly Soldiers, or from her exposing Lingxi's identity and killing her father. She expressed disbelief that a high and mighty War God like Jiuchen would care so deeply for a "lowly" minor immortal. Jiuchen turned back, his gaze cold, and stated that even if Lingxi were not present, Yuan Tong would still never be the one he chose; she had lost to herself.

At that moment, Lord Baishanxian arrived, relaying the Heavenly Emperor's decree: Yuan Tong was spared from death but sentenced to guard the Demon Tower indefinitely. Confined within the forbidden land, Jing Xiu was tormented by vivid memories. He relived being brutally attacked by crows and recalled his past imprisonment. Yuandu appeared, forcing a younger Jing Xiu to sign a confession implicating his father, Youchang, in colluding with the Demon Tribe and plotting rebellion.

Despite his father's cries of innocence, Yuandu used this confession to orchestrate the slaughter of Youchang and their entire clan. The horrific night of his father's death and the agonizing curses of his kinsmen have haunted Jing Xiu ever since, gradually driving him to the brink of madness. Wu visited Jing Xiu in his confinement. Jing Xiu sarcastically questioned whether Wu was concerned about his potential rebellion.

He recounted how he had elevated the Shanling Tribe from its long history of humiliation to its current strength where no power dares to underestimate them, maintaining that he had not failed Lingyue. Wu sharply countered, stating that Jing Xiu had never truly esteemed Lingyue, forgetting her status as the State Master and the rightful ruler of Shanling Territory. Wu criticized Jing Xiu for his arrogance, suggesting he had become complacent as Lingyue entrusted him with all state affairs.

Jing Xiu admitted his desire for vengeance but accused Lingyue of lying about not killing Yuandu. As Wu prepared to depart, Jing Xiu stopped him, emphasizing the urgent need to stabilize the military, as Lingyue had dismissed all his trusted generals. He warned that Zhonghao posed an imminent threat and urged Wu to advise Lingyue to seek assistance from the Heavenly Race if the situation spiraled out of control, fearing that otherwise, the Shanling Tribe faced utter destruction.

In the mortal realm, Lin Mo attempted to play with other children. A girl named Lin Zhan approached, offering "Second Young Mistress" freshly made white fungus soup. This prompted the other children to immediately distance themselves from Lin Mo, quickly leaving her to go home for dinner.
