During a discussion in the Heavenly Palace, Duyu argued against punishing the Yuan Clan for Yuanzheng's error, citing Yuanzheng's past contributions and General Yuan Tong's long years of diligent service. However, the God of Heavenly Thunder fiercely countered, emphasizing the severity of Yuanzheng being bewitched by a demon, which led to the demise of a hundred thousand Heavenly Soldiers and Generals. He asserted that the Heavenly Race, as the leader of the Six Realms, must uphold its laws.

Jiuchen then spoke, agreeing with the God of Heavenly Thunder's stance on strict governance. He acknowledged Yuanzheng's crime as undeniable. Taking full responsibility as the God of War for failing to detect the anomaly within his own ranks and for personally eliminating the demonized soldiers, Jiuchen knelt and requested the Heavenly Emperor to punish him. The Heavenly Emperor attempted to dissuade Jiuchen, reminding him of his fifty-thousand-year slumber in the Immortal Sea after sealing the Demon Lord.

Yet, Jiuchen insisted, likening his duty to a father's responsibility for his child, and reiterated his heavy burden of "murderous sin." Finally, Jiuchen pleaded for leniency for the Yuan Clan, revealing that Yuan Tong, upon learning the truth, had voluntarily abolished fifty thousand years of her cultivation and resigned as a Heavenly Palace War General, expressing willingness to serve as a mere guard at the South Gate of Heaven to atone for her brother's sin.

Reluctantly, the Heavenly Emperor conceded, instructing Lord Baishanxian to announce Jiuchen's punishment: seven jolts of lightning at the Purple Cloud Platform for failing to govern his army strictly. The Yuan Clan, however, would be pardoned, considering they had no more male descendants and Yuan Tong's sincere repentance. Yuan Tong, awaiting news, was distraught when Duyu informed her that Jiuchen was suffering the punishment on her family's behalf at the Purple Cloud Platform. She immediately rushed towards the Purple Cloud Platform.

Meanwhile, Jiuchen was already kneeling on the Purple Cloud Platform, enduring the powerful lightning with his divine power, which shook the entire Heavenly Palace. Yuan Tong, filled with guilt and distress, tried to rush to him, but was restrained by Hanzhang and Kaiyang. Throughout the Heavenly Palace, immortals heard the booming thunder. At Fuyun Hall, Shisan lightheartedly wondered who the unlucky soul undergoing punishment was. Lingxi, however, sensed an ominous feeling.

Upon inquiring, she learned Jiuchen had gone to the main hall for a meeting, and understanding dawned on her. She immediately rushed towards the Purple Cloud Platform. After enduring all seven jolts of lightning, even Jiuchen, with his immense power, could no longer sustain himself and collapsed into unconsciousness. Once back in Fuyun Hall, Qingyao examined him.

She explained to Yunfeng and others that Jiuchen, despite her repeated warnings, had used a vast amount of his magic to resist the lightning, causing a violent relapse of his cold disease. With no other option, she had sealed his superpowers using the Nine Spirits Technique to prevent him from returning to the Immortal Sea to create another ice palace.

When Lord Baishanxian inquired about Jiuchen's exact condition for the Heavenly Emperor, Qingyao assured him that the seal would dispel on its own after forty-nine days, and Jiuchen would recover if he recuperated and took his medicine diligently. Relieved, Lord Baishanxian sternly cautioned everyone present to maintain strict secrecy regarding Jiuchen's temporary loss of power, fearing that malevolent beings might seize the opportunity to cause chaos. All solemnly pledged to keep the secret.

During Jiuchen's prolonged unconsciousness, Lingxi stayed by his side, tending to him for seven days and nights without leaving. High God Yunfeng also expressed concern to Siming, noting Jiuchen's unusually long slumber. Siming, who had brought mortal medicines, explained that Jiuchen was now like a mortal, susceptible to wind and cold, and extremely weak, requiring constant care. He even warned about small, spiritually undeveloped birds potentially harming Jiuchen, though Lingxi dismissed the notion as absurd.

Upon waking, Jiuchen immediately sensed that his magic had been sealed and calmly asked who had done it. Lingxi quickly explained that it was her Senior Sister Qingyao, out of good intentions. Jiuchen then inquired if Qingyao had mentioned any discomfort he might experience. Lingxi relayed Qingyao's instructions: Jiuchen, though a High God, could no longer absorb immortal qi and would feel thirsty, hungry, and excessively tired, needing sleep to recuperate.

Jiuchen then described feeling dizzy, stuffy, weak, "as if poisoned." Lingxi was surprised, pointing out that only a few knew about his sealed magic, Yunfeng had been guarding the Fuyun Hall, and she herself had not left the bedchamber, making poisoning seem impossible. Jiuchen then glanced at the closed windows and asked if she had opened them during the past seven days.

Lingxi confidently stated she hadn't, explaining she feared losing the accumulated heat, knowing his aversion to cold, and would never make such a "lowly mistake." Jiuchen then asked if she knew that burning charcoal in a closed room could lead to poisoning. Lingxi, initially confused, finally grasped the danger when Jiuchen stated his magic was sealed. Panicked, she profusely apologized and began fanning him frantically.

Jiuchen, weakened, urged her to open the windows, and Lingxi, finally understanding the urgency, rushed to do so. Later, Jiuchen also advised her that the damp mist in the room was not good for his current condition and could lead to rheumatism. Yuli, upon Qingyao's return from Fuyun Hall, questioned her about Jiuchen's health, receiving only a dismissive "Nothing serious."

Determined to visit him herself, Yuli overheard immortal maids gossiping that Jiuchen had recently taken in an immortal maid, who was not only pretty but had also helped him regain his reputation, suggesting she might have a prosperous future. This news sparked jealousy in Yuli's heart. Upon arriving at Fuyun Hall, Yuli encountered Lingxi working in the courtyard.

Yuli immediately confronted her, belittling her background as an earthly immortal born in Peach Forest, who, after fifty thousand years of cultivation, remained a mere earth immortal. She scoffed at Lingxi's father, Le Bo, who was expelled from the Lord of Heavenly Medicine's manor for drunken misconduct, and pointed out Lingxi's lack of a maternal tribe or even knowledge of her birth mother.

Yuli then sternly warned Lingxi not to harbor "wishful thinking," stating that Lingxi's only possible role was as an immortal maid in Fuyun Hall. Lingxi retorted that Yuli herself was the one with wishful thinking, to which Yuli boldly agreed, asserting her own beauty and higher cultivation made her more deserving. Yuli then proceeded to see Jiuchen. Jiuchen, who had observed the entire exchange, did not intervene but simply instructed Lingxi to come in and serve.

Once with Jiuchen, Yuli became exceedingly gentle and polite. She presented the Nine Dragons Mythical Fire Shade, explaining it was forged by Zhurong, the former God of Fire, from the Roasting Rock Mythical Bead, inscribed with the Nine Dragons Congealed Flame Formation, and tempered by earth's fire for over thirty thousand years.

She claimed her father, the Lord of Heavenly Medicine, believed it would greatly aid Jiuchen's cold disease and expressed his guilt for a recent delay in delivering his medicine. Jiuchen, recognizing it as a peace offering, simply had Lingxi accept the item. When Yuli offered her own medical services, implying superiority to Qingyao, Jiuchen politely declined, stating Qingyao was excellent and, citing his discomfort, asked Lingxi to escort Yuli out.

Lingxi courteously sent her off, despite Yuli's haughty remark that she knew the place better. Jiuchen, now susceptible to drowsiness since his magic was sealed, found himself falling asleep easily. Lingxi placed the Nine Dragons Mythical Fire Shade before him, and, mimicking his posture, unintentionally dozed off as well. Jiuchen awoke and, seeing Lingxi nodding off and then tumbling over, chuckled. Lingxi, jolted awake, heard Jiuchen muse about how much mortals loved to sleep.

She retorted that immortals loved sleep even more, citing her father who would sleep for "three to five years" when drunk, concluding that Jiuchen was likely the only one who preferred cultivation over sleep. Jiuchen then told Lingxi she didn't need to guard him and encouraged her to take the Nine Dragons Mythical Fire Shade. He noted her lazy disposition and poor cultivation due to constant sleeping, explaining that the fire-element artifact would greatly benefit her Dan Bird Tribe's cultivation.

Lingxi happily accepted the gift and departed. In Dark Capital Mountain, Zhonghao, having survived an earlier ordeal, harbored a deep hatred for the Heavenly Race. He sought out the Demon Lord, pledging his unwavering loyalty to exact revenge for his annihilated tribe. The Demon Lord, however, was skeptical, mocking Zhonghao's claim to remove his shackles, a feat that had cost Jiuchen most of his power and nearly his life.

Zhonghao clarified that while he lacked the power to directly undo the seal, he could open the Spirit-Binding Abyss, a passageway between the god and demon realms. He promised that once this "Gate of Hell" opened, millions of demon soldiers would gather under the Demon Lord's banner, effectively freeing him from the Heavenly Race's threat. Recognizing him as Lieyi's son, the Demon Lord accepted Zhonghao's allegiance and bestowed upon him his own Demon Blade.

Armed with the blade, Zhonghao traveled to a barren desert and commanded Heichi to find a girl born fifty thousand years ago in Dark Capital Mountain, one who possessed the combined power of both gods and demons, as she was the very person the Demon Lord needed. News of Zhonghao's demonization reached Jing Xiu, the State Preceptor.

He was informed that Zhonghao had sought aid from the Hanshan Tribe and obtained a Demon Blade, the power of which was still unknown but not to be underestimated.

Jing Xiu deduced that Zhonghao's search for a girl born fifty thousand years ago in Dark Capital Mountain, one bearing both godly and demonic powers, indicated he was looking for Ling Yue's daughter, who was connected to the great battle between the God of War and the Demon Lord fifty thousand years prior. Meanwhile, Ling Yue, who had recently learned her child was alive, often grieved, clutching her deceased husband Mohuan's belongings.

Grandmother Shi comforted her, encouraging her to be optimistic, as knowing the princess was alive was already good news, and mother and daughter would eventually reunite. She further explained that Mohuan belonged to the Dan Bird Tribe, which was now very rare, making such a unique bloodline easier to trace. Ling Yue found some solace in these words. The next day, she carried Mohuan's flute to the Peach Forest, where she met Le Bo.

It was revealed that Le Bo and Mohuan were fellow disciples. Ling Yue revealed she and Mohuan were deeply in love and had secretly pledged themselves to each other, but her father had never approved. Le Bo was stunned and deeply affected to hear that Mohuan had died fifty thousand years ago, and, explaining he had lived a muddled life of vengeance and forgotten to inform her, he accepted the flute from Ling Yue and abruptly departed, still visibly distraught.
