Xiao Yiqing declared his firm resolve to revive Snow Tower. He stated that he must eradicate Mai Qian Cheng's remaining forces, even if it jeopardized the tower's foundation. From that moment on, there would be no failure or betrayal in Snow Tower, and he vowed to personally end the life of any rebel, regardless of their identity or location.
He then confronted Nan Chu, acknowledging Nan Chu's aversion to slaughter and desire for a peaceful life, and asked directly if he was willing to pledge allegiance to Snow Tower. When Nan Chu remained silent, Xiao Yiqing understood his hesitation. Shu Jingrong visited to pay respects to her late parents and bid farewell to Xiao Yiqing, as her master had urged her to return to Sand Valley.
She informed him she would depart for Sand Valley with Qing Yu the following day. As she left, she handed him a hand warmer, noting the cold weather. Shu Jingrong advised Xiao Yiqing that eventually he would understand how others treated him depended on his own actions. Xiao Yiqing responded that in a chaotic world, wielding a weapon meant one was destined to treat people with a cold heart, as coldness was a way to protect oneself from harm.
Shu Jingrong agreed but added that how one treated others also depended on how worthy that person was to oneself. The next day, after Qing Yu and Shu Jingrong left, Xiao Yiqing walked alone through Snow Tower, reminiscing about his father and feeling desolate. Alone in Snow Tower, Xiao Yiqing recalled his father's childhood dream of building something great, with Snow Tower as its beginning.
He remembered his father's regret that his mother never witnessed the grand success of Snow Tower and his final plea for Xiao Yiqing to save her from the Moon Sect. Overwhelmed, Xiao Yiqing lamented his desire to save his mother and restore Snow Tower to its former glory, questioning how he could fight the Moon Sect when the tower lay in tatters.
As he wept in despair, Nan Chu and Chi Xiaotai arrived with a large group of Snow Tower members. Nan Chu declared that from that moment on, all seniority between them was abolished, and they would act solely on Xiao Yiqing's command. The gathered members knelt, swearing allegiance to Snow Tower, pledging to obey his commands, and vowing to destroy thieves and traitors even if it cost their lives.
Deeply moved, Xiao Yiqing bowed to them, promising to remember their kindness. Xiao Yiqing and Zi Mo then visited Huang Quan, who demanded to know why he was held captive. Zi Mo presented evidence, revealing that the golden leaves Huang Quan had collected through "righteous deeds" under the name of Tian Li Assembly, ostensibly for aiding refugees, were instead split between the Moon Sect and Mai Qian Cheng himself.
Zi Mo further exposed Mai Qian Cheng's abduction of wealthy daughters for ransom, who suffered terrible humiliation. She emphasized that the golden leaves Huang Quan acquired by killing 17 men of the Qian family never reached the refugees but were found in Tian Li Assembly's dungeon.
Huang Quan vehemently denied the accusations, but Zi Mo challenged him to ask Lady Xie, who was then in Snow Tower, for confirmation, detailing how Tian Li Assembly bribed bandits to abduct Lady Xie and others, leading to the deaths of all but Lady Xie. Huang Quan, in utter disbelief and emotional turmoil, called it all a trap and fake.
Xiao Yiqing assured him of the truth and instructed him to sort out the seized fortunes and hand them over, stating that Huang Quan would eventually see the true colors of Tian Li Assembly and that the remaining members would be handed over to officials.
Upon their return to Sand Valley, Qing Yu reassured the Crown Prince's guards that the Crown Prince was safe inside the valley, as Moon Sect followers could not even locate its entrance, let alone harm him. He acknowledged Shu Jingrong's role in the Crown Prince's safety. Later, Qing Lan prepared a display of fireflies for Shu Jingrong's return. Ye Huo initially delighted in them but grew disappointed and jealous upon learning they were specifically for Shu Jingrong.
Bai Di greeted Shu Jingrong upon her return. Shu Jingrong asked Bai Di if he had discovered anything from the stars, to which he replied that everything was unclear despite his recent observations. He remarked that Shu Jingrong's eyes were also filled with hatred. Shu Jingrong expressed concern about rumors of Moon Sect markings outside the valley.
Bai Di assured her that the Moon Sect suffered heavy casualties in their battle with Tian Li and could not currently attack Sand Valley, but he warned her to remain cautious, calling Hua Lian cunning, noting that even Xiao Shishui, who knew her well, was killed by her.
Shu Jingrong then asked if Moon Sect followers used the Moon Spirit to study the stars, and Bai Di confirmed, explaining that Xiao Shishui's wife, Xue Wen, was the former Star Reader and cared for the Moon Spirit. Shu Jingrong asked if Bai Di himself could study the stars with the Moon Spirit. Xiao Yiqing continued to consolidate his power. Demonstrating his ruthless resolve, he oversaw the elimination of all Snow Tower traitors.
The surrendered were detained, but the heads of the four Tower Guardians were displayed as a grim warning, reinforcing that those who betrayed Snow Tower would meet their demise. A conversation among Moon Sect members confirmed that Mai Qian Cheng's forces had been eradicated, their spies killed, and the entire Snow Tower was now under Xiao Yiqing's control, noting his decisive and ruthless nature, akin to a younger Xiao Shishui.
Meanwhile, Zi Mo expressed concern for Huang Quan, who had not been eating, reminding him of his promise to the Tower Master. Despite concerns about Xiao Yiqing's recent battle and incomplete recovery, Xiao Yiqing insisted on confronting Huang Quan, stating that if he could not convince those he wished to recruit, he could not gain the trust of Snow Tower or the world.
He challenged Huang Quan to a duel, promising not to use weapons or attack, and if Huang Quan could hurt him before a falling golden leaf touched the ground, Huang Quan would win. Xiao Yiqing easily defeated Huang Quan, then delivered a powerful speech, explaining that justice, equity, and protecting the weak all required power.
He told Huang Quan that his current lack of power prevented him from protecting anything and invited him to join Snow Tower to establish new rules for the martial community. Huang Quan, deeply affected, asked when he could start serving. Xiao Yiqing replied that Snow Tower did not recruit the useless and that they would talk further once Huang Quan truly understood what he wanted and could differentiate good from evil.
He then instructed Zi Mo to ensure Huang Quan's recovery. In Sand Valley, Ye Huo picked wildflowers. Qing Lan approached and noted her worsening condition, suggesting they visit Master for a cure. Ye Huo, however, wished to savor the beautiful view, expressing uncertainty about seeing such sights again, hinting at her fate.
Qing Lan reassured her that the flowers bloomed all year and promised to take her to more flower oceans, a promise Ye Huo eagerly accepted for "only a while." She then wished that Qing Lan was not from Sand Valley. Later, as Qing Yu and Shu Jingrong sparred, Qing Lan arrived, carrying a bouquet of flowers. He told Shu Jingrong he picked them from the flower fields, noting they had calming properties to aid her recent poor sleep.
Ye Huo, overhearing this, grew visibly jealous and pointedly remarked that Qing Yu slept soundly without needing such remedies. Meanwhile, Xiao Yiqing received reports that multiple scout teams sent to Nanjiang had vanished, indicating Moon Sect's prepared presence there. He learned that Moon Sect followers had been hiding around Sand Valley, surprisingly recovering quickly from their previous losses, yet had not acted due to the valley's hidden entrance.
Zi Mo informed Xiao Yiqing that a new follower of the Crown Prince, named Ye Huo, had accompanied them back to the valley. Suspicious, Xiao Yiqing decided to return to Sand Valley for recuperation, using it as an opportunity to investigate Ye Huo. He instructed Zi Mo to make arrangements and announced that Chi Xiaotai would accompany him, with Nan Chu taking charge of Snow Tower matters in his absence.
At the entrance to Sand Valley, Chi Xiaotai, frustrated with an unhelpful map, was startled by Qing Yu. She explained she was waiting for Xiao Yiqing, who was exploring the forest, as they were there for his recuperation. Qing Yu warned her about the valley's hidden traps, stating that if she accidentally triggered one, no one could save her. Chi Xiaotai, realizing she could not enter on her own, then asked Qing Yu for help, to which he playfully replied she must beg him.
