> Listening Snow Tower Recap

As Ming He led her Moon Sect followers in pursuit, Gao Huan urged Ye Feng Sha to flee, stating he was their true target. Ye Feng Sha refused, reminding him of their shared vow to journey the pugilistic world together and asserting she could not abandon him. In their final moments, Gao Huan proposed marriage if they could escape, to which Ye Feng Sha readily agreed.

Ming He, observing their loving bond, cruelly declared that Gao Huan must die for serving Xiao Yiqing and Snow Tower. Gao Huan, dying, expressed deep regret for bringing this fate upon Ye Feng Sha and wished to meet her in the afterlife. Ye Feng Sha, clutching his hand, affirmed she had no regrets, finding comfort in their eternal togetherness.

Ming He then ordered their bodies to be taken to Moon Palace as an offering to the late Flower Palace Master Ming Che’s soul. She reflected on their profound love, pondering if Jia Ruo would ever sacrifice himself for her as she would for him. Meanwhile, Ren Feiyang learned of Gao Huan's death and was deeply saddened. Qiu Huyou questioned if this wasn't the revenge Ren Feiyang had sought.

Ren Feiyang explained that Gao Huan had acted based on his mother's dying wish, which was to eliminate all from the Ren family, and had, in fact, spared his life before. He added that their long-standing brotherhood would not be overshadowed by past grudges, which they had both quietly let go of. Qiu Huyou acknowledged that Ren Feiyang held no hatred for either Gao Huan or Xiao Yiqing, having demonstrated this by letting Ye Feng Sha go previously.

Ren Feiyang confessed he merely wanted to ascertain the truth of Gao Huan's feelings for Lady Ye, realizing that the grudges between them were not as deep as they once seemed, and that Gao Huan’s act of mercy had dissolved his own animosity. Ren Feiyang, acknowledging his growth in the cruel pugilistic world and crediting Shu Jingrong for his escape, then requested to regain his freedom and temporarily leave the Storm League.

He expressed his desire to live by his principles, free from external control. Qiu Huyou warned that leaving Moon Sect would invite their wrath, but suggested a way out: join Snow Tower, as they were not his enemies and offered the justice and freedom he sought. Ren Feiyang agreed, eager to escape his current confinement and partly inspired by Gao Huan and Ye Feng Sha's choices. Shu Jingrong remained upset with Xiao Yiqing for concealing the truth about Qing Lan.

Xiao Yiqing admitted he was merely a man of flesh and blood, confessing his fear that she would abandon Snow Tower and him if she knew. He insisted that Jia Ruo was no longer the Qing Lan they knew from Sand Valley. Shu Jingrong maintained that Qing Lan was her senior brother, her family, and his identity did not matter as long as he was alive.

Xiao Yiqing then gravely informed her that Ming He had killed Gao Huan and Lady Ye, and intended to use their bodies as an offering. Shu Jingrong grew distressed, asking if Jia Ruo was involved and stating his actions with Moon Sect were wrong. She demanded to know the truth. Xiao Yiqing urged her not to worry, promising to resolve the matter.

Still angry about Qing Lan, Shu Jingrong pleaded with Xiao Yiqing not to risk his life, acknowledging that only two of them were left. By the sacred lake, Jia Ruo was lost in thought, haunted by Shu Jingrong's image but unable to recall his past. Ming He approached him, sensing his recent withdrawal and revealing her own growing unease, especially after Qing Hui’s report about potential movements from Snow Tower.

She reiterated the need for strengthened defenses, declaring that Gao Huan's death, though not eliminating Snow Tower, at least brought peace to her father's spirit. Ming He questioned Jia Ruo's distraction since encountering Shu Jingrong, reminding him that Shu Jingrong was Moon Sect's sworn enemy and that he was unrelated to her. Jia Ruo, however, felt an undeniable connection.

Ming He dismissed his feelings, fabricating a story that Shu Jingrong's parents and master were killed by Ming He’s own mother, making Shu Jingrong an ardent enemy bent on destroying Moon Sect. Ming He explained that Qing Lan, Shu Jingrong's senior brother, had died years ago at Sand Valley, and Shu Jingrong had likely mistaken Jia Ruo for him due to their resemblance or her profound longing.

Jia Ruo expressed skepticism, asking why she had not revealed this sooner and how much of her story was true. Ming He, leveraging their past, tearfully reminded him how she had saved him by causing her mother, Hua Lian, to fall into the Holy Lake, accusing him of doubting her love because of Shu Jingrong. Jia Ruo, contrite, apologized. Ming He then suggested Shu Jingrong's actions might be a calculated ploy by Snow Tower to sow discord.

Jia Ruo conceded his carelessness, affirming his gratitude for her kindness, and agreed to remain in the palace while Ming He handled external matters. Xiao Yiqing presented the golden needle he found in Ming He's room to Doctor Mo. Doctor Mo, despite his decades of medical experience, was unfamiliar with a needle so thin. Xiao Yiqing deduced that since Ming He lacked medical skills, she must be using it on someone secretly. He urged Doctor Mo to unravel its mystery.

Word reached Xiao Yiqing from Zhong that Shu Jingrong had departed alone to meet Qiu Huyou, based on a messenger’s report. Fearing a conspiracy between Storm League and Moon Sect, Xiao Yiqing grew furious, calling Shu Jingrong reckless and ordering Zhong to immediately gather disciples to search for her. Xiao Yiqing struggled with his anxiety, admitting that any matter related to Jia Ruo made him lose his composure.

Zhong tried to reassure him, reminding him of Shu Jingrong's intelligence and fighting skills, and urging him to focus on the broader strategy against Moon Sect. Zhong also updated him on reinforcements, with Gao Meng Fei leading elites from Chuihua House and Nan Chu assembling another group. Xiao Yiqing ordered them to hasten their arrival. Shu Jingrong met Qiu Huyou and Ren Feiyang.

Qiu Huyou humbly sought Shu Jingrong's protection for Ren Feiyang, explaining that Ren Feiyang was only temporarily under his wing and would be hunted by Moon Sect if he left. Ren Feiyang reaffirmed his desire to join Snow Tower, believing it to be the only place offering true justice.

Shu Jingrong, recognizing Qiu Huyou’s unexpected compassion, agreed to consider Ren Feiyang's request on one condition: Qiu Huyou must retrieve the bodies of Gao Huan and Ye Feng Sha for burial in the Central Plain. When Qiu Huyou expressed the difficulty of this task, Shu Jingrong hinted at a plan.

She then instructed Qiu Huyou to deliver a message to Ming He, claiming that Ren Feiyang was captured and that Shu Jingrong awaited Ming He that very night at the River of Remembrance. Qiu Huyou delivered a fabricated story to Ming He: he claimed to have been injured by Shu Jingrong, and that Ren Feiyang sacrificed himself to save him before being captured.

He then misleadingly relayed Shu Jingrong's demand, stating she wished to meet the "High Priest" (Jia Ruo) at Jichuan that night. Ming He, convinced of Qiu Huyou's loyalty and his feigned injury, instructed him to keep this information strictly confidential from Jia Ruo. Later, Ren Feiyang, following Shu Jingrong's instructions, met Xiao Yiqing. Xiao Yiqing, having heard Ren Feiyang previously saved Lady Ye, believed him and acknowledged that Shu Jingrong must have orchestrated this "withdrawal" to avert Moon Sect's suspicion.

Ren Feiyang reassured Xiao Yiqing that Shu Jingrong knew what she was doing and wanted him not to worry. Xiao Yiqing entrusted Ren Feiyang with a message for Shu Jingrong: if she did not return by dawn, he would disregard all strategic plans and personally lead an attack on Moon Palace. At the River of Remembrance, Shu Jingrong awaited Ming He.

When Ming He arrived with her disciples, she taunted Shu Jingrong for her audacity and mistakenly asserted that Qiu Huyou had reported her true intentions to meet Jia Ruo. Shu Jingrong, in turn, revealed that Qiu Huyou had successfully deceived Ming He and deserted Ren Feiyang. Ming He, still believing Ren Feiyang was dead, scoffed that Snow Tower would undoubtedly take him in.

Shu Jingrong brushed aside Ming He's words and demanded the bodies of Gao Huan and Ye Feng Sha for proper burial. Ming He, surrounded by her disciples, found Shu Jingrong's arrogance shocking. Shu Jingrong warned that despite being alone, her presence carried a potent threat: if she sent a signal, Xiao Yiqing and the Snow Tower forces would launch a full assault that Moon Sect, in its current weakened state, could not withstand.

She declared that sacrificing her life to bring down Moon Sect was a worthwhile exchange. Ming He questioned Shu Jingrong's devotion to Gao Huan and Ye Feng Sha, who were no longer part of Snow Tower and held no direct relation to her. Shu Jingrong, however, stated it was her decision and challenged Ming He's understanding of true, eternal love. Ming He, after some deliberation, reluctantly agreed to send the coffins back to Snow Tower.

Shu Jingrong then shifted her inquiry to Jia Ruo, revealing she knew he was Qing Lan and simply wished to know if he was well. Ming He coldly replied that Jia Ruo was thriving and had no memory of Sand Valley or Shu Jingrong, believing that forgetting his painful past was the only path to a new life for him. Shu Jingrong then asked if his injury was sustained during the Sand Valley battle.
