Gao Mengfei, Gao Huan, and Huang Quan led Snow Tower's forces at the Flower Palace. Gao Mengfei detailed his plan to attack in two hours with groups of seven, with one group striking first to break the formation. He intended to use sky lanterns to create confusion, and assigned Gao Huan to lead the assault, with the explicit instruction to capture Ming Che alive. Gao Huan affirmed his commitment to the task.
Meanwhile, within Flower Palace, Ming Che's subordinate pointed out the unusual appearance of sky lanterns during daylight. Ming Che, wary, ordered everyone to be on guard. Gu Guang, a loyal guard from Moon Sect present by Ming He's orders, urged Ming Che to withdraw, revealing the sky lanterns contained gunpowder and that this was Snow Tower's genuine attack.
He also reminded Ming Che that previous sky lanterns had been a mere provocation, meant to lower their guards, after some of Flower Palace's people had been poisoned trying to shoot them down. Ming Che then commanded his forces to defend the Flower Palace to their last breath. Gao Huan and his Chuihua House disciples successfully breached the Flower Thorn Formation. Huang Quan was then dispatched to intercept all escape routes, with orders to spare no one.
Ming He was informed that the Flower Thorn Formation had been broken and that Snow Tower assassins had conquered the Exotic Flower Formation, causing chaos. She realized her father had intended for her to escape. An attendant then reported that High Priest Jia Ruo had returned to escort her, having cleared an escape path. Ming He, however, refused to abandon her father.
Soon after, another attendant brought grave news: Ming Che had been captured by Snow Tower, and Gao Mengfei specifically requested Ming He's presence. Distraught, Ming He immediately led her people to rescue him. Bi Luo engaged in a fierce fight with Jia Ruo, who used a strange technique, urging Hong Chen to retreat, though she refused. A report reached Jia Ruo that Ming He was on her way to save her father, prompting Jia Ruo to withdraw from the fight.
Ming He arrived to find Gao Mengfei holding a sword to her father's neck. She pleaded for Ming Che's release, offering to negotiate, but Gao Mengfei declared he had no conditions. He intended to make her pay for abducting Chi Xiaotai and for the suffering inflicted upon Sand Valley. He stated this was not a bargain, but a lesson for repeatedly challenging Snow Tower. With a defiant declaration, Gao Mengfei plunged his sword into Ming Che's chest.
Ming He cried out in agony as Gao Mengfei gloated, reminding her of the pain she had caused in Sand Valley and asserting that Ming Che's death was only the beginning. He Er, an attendant, tried to restrain Ming He, but she furiously engaged Gao Mengfei. Gu Guang quickly arrived, using poison smoke to cover the rescue of Ming He and the retrieval of Ming Che's body. Gao Mengfei's forces then retreated.
Xiao Yiqing, inspecting the injured Snow Tower disciples, inferred Jia Ruo's presence at Flower Palace due to the unique martial arts used, expressing concern for Shu Jingrong's safety. Before the final assault, Ming Che had given Ming He a small wooden figure carved by him and Hua Lian, emphasizing their deep father-daughter bond. He also told her about a secret escape tunnel within Flower Palace, urging her to use it to lead everyone to safety if something went wrong.
Later, Ming He mourned over her father's body. Gu Guang apologized for his failure, but Ming He absolved him, directing all her hatred towards Gao Mengfei. Gu Guang explained that Ming Che had intended to fight to the death and detailed how he used poison smoke, acquired from Storm League, to save Ming He and retrieve her father’s body.
Ming He seethed, recalling Gao Mengfei's sadistic desire for her to witness her father's death, an act of revenge for Chi Xiaotai and the people of Sand Valley. Jia Ruo encouraged Ming He to recover, reminding her that Moon Sect was Snow Tower's primary target. Ming He vowed that Snow Tower would not get away with destroying Flower Palace, and Jia Ruo assured her that Gao Mengfei would pay. A plan was put forth to utilize the Storm League.
Ming He ordered Qiu Huyu to bring back the heads of Gao Mengfei and Gao Huan as retribution, and Jia Ruo advised taking Ren Feiyang along, as his acquaintance with Gao Huan and Ye Fengsha could be used to control Ye Fengsha and compel Gao Huan to surrender. After the battle, Bi Luo found Xiao Yin's tomb in Flower Palace. Moved, he honored her with a solemn ceremony and played a tender melody on his guqin, comforting her spirit.
Xiao Yiqing confronted Gao Mengfei about his unsanctioned plan to attack Flower Palace and for publicly killing Ming Che. Gao Mengfei defended his actions, stating that cracking the formation with minimal casualties was efficient and that killing Ming Che was a necessary, decisive blow to Moon Sect, aimed at restoring Snow Tower's reputation after Ming He’s past provocations. He also reminded Shu Jingrong of the fate of Sand Valley.
Xiao Yiqing, acknowledging Gao Mengfei’s decisive action and significant contribution to conquering Flower Palace, granted him the title of Lord. Gao Mengfei accepted, promising not to disappoint, and was instructed to meticulously handle the aftermath. Afterward, Xiao Yiqing discussed Gao Mengfei's ruthless yet effective approach with Shu Jingrong.
Given Ming He’s past threats involving his mother, Xiao Yiqing revealed his intention to scout Lingjiu Mountain in preparation for an attack on Moon Sect, and possibly visit his mother, Xue Wen, in Moon Palace. He worried that Ming He might vent her anger on Xue Wen after her defeat. Shu Jingrong expressed her concern about the danger, but Xiao Yiqing insisted, saying her presence by his side gave him assurance.
Separately, Bi Luo spoke with Xiao Yiqing, recounting his encounter with the powerful opponent Jia Ruo, who used a strange technique involving poisonous inner energy. He noted that Snow Tower disciples did not merely die but had their inner energies absorbed and veins shattered, a martial skill he had never witnessed before. Xiao Yiqing concluded that Jia Ruo had mastered the Xuan Yin Heart Sutra, making him a formidable enemy for Moon Sect.
Bi Luo also mentioned he had seen Jia Ruo once before. Bi Luo then informed Xiao Yiqing that he had settled his personal affairs and wished to join Snow Tower, stating he had no better options given Moon Sect would surely pursue him after the Flower Palace incident. Gao Huan, drinking alone, contemplated Ren Feiyang.
He remembered swapping swords with Ren Feiyang, which led him to discover Ren Feiyang's true identity, forcing him to kill Ren Feiyang to avenge his parents. He acknowledged Ren Feiyang's truthful nature but felt bound by the blood feud. Ye Fengsha questioned if he would still seek vengeance now that Ren Feiyang was alive.
Gao Huan confessed that he felt grief when Ren Feiyang fell and relief upon learning he was still alive, realizing he never truly wanted Ren Feiyang to die and that his true struggle was forgiving himself. He also revealed he had initially joined Snow Tower hoping they would find Ren Feiyang, and now felt his quest for revenge was insignificant. Ye Fengsha stated it was time for her to leave Snow Tower to forge her own path.
Gao Huan tried to persuade her to stay, suggesting they could face the future together. Ye Fengsha, however, expressed her concern that Ren Feiyang had joined the dangerous Storm League and urged Gao Huan to convince him to leave Qiu Huyu. Meanwhile, Nan Chu expressed his concern to Chi Xiaotai about Gao Mengfei's ruthlessness despite his contributions. He advised her to speak with Gao Mengfei about integrating justice and benevolence into his methods.
Chi Xiaotai dismissed this, arguing that such virtues had led to the destruction of Sand Valley and the deaths of her father and Mister Bai. She asserted that leniency only invited bullying and defended Gao Mengfei's actions as necessary to restore Snow Tower's reputation. Nan Chu reminded her of their Master's teachings that ruthlessness was a tactic, not their inherent nature, warning that constant ruthlessness could change their very minds.
Chi Xiaotai countered that she had not changed, but the environment had, and she was merely adapting to survive. She recounted her abduction and affliction with the Blood Venom, during which Snow Tower was threatened because of her. She admitted to contemplating suicide to protect Snow Tower's reputation but confessed her fear of death, her desire to live and see the world again, and the self-hatred she felt for her weakness.
Nan Chu reassured her that he and Xiao Yiqing would have saved her regardless, and that with them, she could remain carefree. Chi Xiaotai, however, insisted that she was no longer the innocent Chi Xiaotai she once was, having been hardened by the cruel world and now compelled to be vigilant.
