Xiao Yiqing, held captive, discerned that Ming Che was not Xiao Yin's biological father, noting Ming Che's disregard for Xiao Yin's safety during a previous attack. Though Xiao Yin had used him to escape the Long family and brought him to Flower Palace, Xiao Yiqing believed she was not inherently bad. He expressed hope that she would help bring Mister Bi Luo into Snow Tower, an endeavor for which he might need her assistance in the future.
Xiao Yin was struck by Xiao Yiqing's unwavering dedication to Snow Tower even in his dire situation and confessed her regret for having brought him to Flower Palace. Meanwhile, Shu Jingrong and the Snow Tower members had arrived at the base of the mountain where Flower Palace was believed to be located. The terrain was treacherous, spiraling upwards and filled with rare plants, making it an ideal, yet unreachable, place for the palace.
Gao Huan's men had confirmed the presence of Flower Palace inhabitants but couldn't locate an entrance. Xue Gu pointed out the difficulty of navigating the hundreds of meters high cliffs and the traps set with exotic plants, emphasizing that a forced entry without Lady Xue Qingming would be a death wish.
Frustrated by the lack of news from Nan Chu regarding Lady Xue, Shu Jingrong spotted a half-torn piece of paper (implied to be related to Xiao Yiqing), confirming his presence within. Overriding objections, she declared her intention to rescue him immediately and rushed into the dense, misty forest alone. Xue Gu, noting her stubbornness, led the others to follow, but warned them to be cautious of the traps.
As they ventured deeper, the dense fog mixed with a potent miasma, making it difficult for the medicinal remedies provided by Hong Chen to fully combat its effects. The air also carried a scent that began to affect their minds, causing hallucinations and leading them to fight one another in a state of confusion. Back in Flower Palace, Ming Che introduced Ming He to Xiao Yin.
Ming He recognized Xiao Yin from the Long family, where she had been operating undercover. Xiao Yin explained her prior mission for Flower Palace, which involved stealing the Azure Azalea seed. Ming He then formally offered Moon Sect's assistance to Flower Palace against Snow Tower, citing her desire for revenge for her mother's death and as repayment for the Azure Azalea. Ming Che accepted her offer.
Shu Jingrong finalized her plan to infiltrate Flower Palace before dawn, surprising Xue Gu by revealing her intention to cross the abyss single-handedly. She explained that Gao Huan had already scouted the topography, and she had instructed Huang Quan to bring the lightweight and tough ice silk rope, which she intended to use with a bow to traverse the vast chasm.
Xue Gu vehemently opposed the plan, deeming it too dangerous, especially since Huang Quan had not yet arrived with the special rope, putting her life at stake. He pressed her on her unusual eagerness, fearing she might be planning to sacrifice herself, but Shu Jingrong remained resolute. Separately, Ming Che spoke with Xiao Yin, noticing her discontent with Ming He. He explained that his treatment of them differed because of his distinct expectations for each.
While he showed Ming He more care due to her recent loss, he intended for Xiao Yin to inherit Flower Palace and become its strong, independent Mistress. He revealed that his strictness and the "flower thorn" incident were warnings for her to always be on guard, as any lapse could doom Flower Palace. He acknowledged that she wouldn't receive warmth from him on this path, but assured her it was for her ultimate good.
Unbeknownst to them, Ming He was secretly listening, confirming her suspicions that Ming Che intended Xiao Yin to lead Flower Palace, intensifying her animosity towards Xiao Yin. Ming He later visited Xiao Yiqing in his icy prison. Xiao Yiqing immediately questioned whether there was more to Hua Lian's death than met the eye. Ming He retorted that he might be unaware of recent events, then revealed that Xiao Yin had killed Madam Long and attempted to frame him.
She recounted how Shu Jingrong was subsequently given two months by Qing Ya to uncover the truth, threatening Snow Tower's destruction if she failed. Ming He mockingly pointed out that Shu Jingrong, in her haste to rescue Xiao Yiqing, had forgotten this deadline, and by now, Long family's assassins would have surrounded Snow Tower, leaving Shu Jingrong facing enemies on all sides. Xiao Yiqing deduced that Ming He had been the one to inform Snow Tower of his whereabouts.
Ming He confirmed this, stating her desire for Xiao Yiqing to witness Shu Jingrong and the entire Snow Tower perish. Indeed, Qing Ya had led his forces to Snow Tower. Jiang Qianmei, who was among those left to guard the tower, confronted him. She questioned if he had already suspected Xiao Yiqing's innocence when he imposed the two-month deadline, given the questionable evidence at the crime scene.
Qianmei highlighted Xiao Yin's disappearance with the azalea seed as a strong indication of her guilt, suggesting that Qing Ya's pursuit of revenge should be directed at Flower Palace, not Snow Tower. She then vowed to defend Snow Tower to her death if Qing Ya insisted on attacking. Seeing her determination, Qing Ya reluctantly ordered his men to retreat. Meanwhile, Nan Chu had located Xue Qingming and was rushing with her to Flower Palace.
Xue Qingming, a lively and mischievous woman, constantly complained about her journey, having never left her home before. She found Nan Chu "boring like a brick" but acknowledged his good looks. Despite her complaints, Nan Chu stressed the urgency of their mission and promised to protect her. Xue Qingming, in turn, made Nan Chu promise to bring her to Snow Tower if she successfully helped them.
Ming He then used the Shadow Sun Dagger to lure Chi Xiaotai to a secret meeting. She taunted Chi Xiaotai by saying that Xiao Yiqing, while in a coma, had called out for Shu Jingrong, not her. Ming He proposed an alliance: she would kill Shu Jingrong, and Chi Xiaotai would kill Xiao Yin, calling it a mutually beneficial arrangement. She demanded Snow Tower's attack plan in return.
To pressure Chi Xiaotai, Ming He brandished the map to Sand Valley, reminding her that its loss, for which Chi Xiaotai was responsible, had allowed Moon Sect to infiltrate. She threatened to expose this secret to Shu Jingrong if Chi Xiaotai refused to cooperate. Angered but also fearful, Chi Xiaotai asked for the Shadow Sun Dagger back to ensure Xiao Yiqing's safety, which Ming He agreed to, contingent on Chi Xiaotai's cooperation.
As the Snow Tower group, including Chi Xiaotai, navigated the "Exotic Flower formation," Chi Xiaotai succumbed to the poisonous fog, which caused hallucinations and made her fight her allies. Fortunately, Nan Chu arrived with Xue Qingming, who identified the exotic flower poison as the source of the mind-altering fog. Xue Qingming explained that merely destroying the current traps would be ineffective; they needed to completely dismantle the "Exotic Flower formation" itself.
After successfully treating Chi Xiaotai, Xue Qingming began to neutralize the formation. Shu Jingrong, having reached the summit, grew impatient for Huang Quan and the ice silk. Determined to save Xiao Yiqing, she prepared to brave the chasm with an ordinary rope, sending it across the vast, misty expanse. However, Ming He, observing from the other side, worried that if Jia Ruo were to recover his memories and see Shu Jingrong, he might abandon her. Driven by this fear, Ming He resolved to cut Shu Jingrong's rope, ensuring her tragic fall into the abyss.
