> Killer And Healer Recap

Jiang Yuelou's wounds reopen, requiring Chen Yuzhi to clean and dress them. Chen Yuzhi deduces that since it took approximately twenty minutes for Sun Heming's associates to arrive after his call, their base of operations must be within a thirty-mile radius. Combined with the red clay stains on their car, he pinpoints the location to be near Gao Street. The next morning, Chen Yuzhi prepares breakfast for the team, earning the admiration of a previously critical Song Rong.

Jiang Yuelou affirms that Sun Heming was not the sole conspirator working with Lucas and that other accomplices must be operating in Jing City. He decides to sever all ties with Jing City until they identify these collaborators, confident that their small, skilled team can succeed. Jiang Yuelou explains that the high-purity opium found at the wharf was meant for processing into opium gum and other drugs, to be transited through Hong Kong.

He acknowledges Lucas as a formidable adversary, given the scale and longevity of his illicit business and his ability to remain anonymous. Based on the size of Lucas's operation, Jiang Yuelou theorizes that suspicious locations near Gao Street large enough to serve as a base include a printing house and Shengde Hall. Noting a half-finished report found in one of their vehicles, he infers that Lucas regularly inspects his premises.

Combining these observations, Jiang Yuelou concludes Lucas is likely to appear at the dock, a warehouse, a bar, a church, or Shengde Hall. They plan to split up and monitor these locations, believing that the individual seen at all of them must be Lucas. Meanwhile, Chief Zhao visits a high-ranking director, mentioning his sister's imminent return from abroad and his business ventures.

He alludes to his import activities, which he conducts with the tax bureau turning a blind eye, but complains that Jiang Yuelou's strict anti-smuggling stance is an obstacle. Chief Zhao then attempts to persuade the director to expedite a matter for Minister Li of the Ministry of Industry, but the director firmly refuses, stating that government procedures apply to everyone and he will not make special exceptions.

He also cautions Chief Zhao against greed and his questionable import practices, reminding him of Jiang Yuelou's diligent scrutiny. While investigating, Song Rong photographs a church and observes a white-haired old man with Xiaofeng. The man, whom they suspect is Lucas, asks Xiaofeng if she has found "that man." She replies that she hasn't, but reassures him they will have news soon, adding that no one in Hong Kong can escape his grasp.

Xiaofeng then promises to bring Jiang Yuelou to him as soon as possible. Later, while eating noodles, Jiang Yuelou questions Chen Yuzhi about his modest living conditions despite having studied abroad. Chen Yuzhi reflects on the instability of life in troubled times, where survival is a challenge.

When Jiang Yuelou presses for a deeper story, Chen Yuzhi remarks that everyone has stories they choose not to share, sometimes because the listener is not the right person, hinting that Jiang Yuelou also has his own secrets. This statement triggers painful childhood memories for Jiang Yuelou, who furiously overturns the table and storms out. A concerned Chen Yuzhi follows him. Outside, Chen Yuzhi is ambushed by a robber.

Jiang Yuelou appears and, seeing the assault, flies into an uncontrollable rage, violently beating the man. As Chen Yuzhi tries to intervene and calm him down, he is accidentally cut by the robber's knife during the struggle. Concerned about Jiang Yuelou's behavior, Chen Yuzhi visits Doctor Qiu for advice. He describes how his friend, while usually normal, can suddenly become intensely impulsive, irritable, and detached from reality.

Doctor Qiu identifies the condition as an "emotional disease" in Western medicine and gives Chen Yuzhi a book on the subject, admitting he lacks more specific knowledge. Song Rong reports his findings to Jiang Yuelou, confirming he has tracked the man presumed to be Lucas for two days. He details his movements, including a meeting with a mysterious girl on an overpass and a visit to the dock, noting that the man consistently has lunch at the Blue Cafe.

Chen Yuzhi goes to the Blue Cafe and asks for "Miss Cheng," but is told no one by that name works there. A woman then approaches him, identifying herself as Chu Ran and explaining that "Cheng Xiuzhi" is an alias she uses for self-protection. She expresses her fear of being entangled in Jiang Yuelou's dangerous life after having saved him once. Chen Yuzhi relays Jiang Yuelou's request to meet, and despite her hesitation, Chu Ran agrees.

Upon meeting Jiang Yuelou, Chu Ran thanks him for his help at the hotel, but he insists her wallet inadvertently saved his life. He shows her a photograph of the old man from the church. Chu Ran recognizes him as someone who once helped her at a coffee shop. She is incredulous when Jiang Yuelou asserts the man is Lucas, the probable leader of Hong Kong's underworld who wants him dead, citing the man's bishop's attire and apparent piety. Jiang Yuelou maintains that all evidence points to this man and asks Chu Ran to get close to him to confirm his identity.
