Dongfang Shi brought Hua Buqi to Mei Village in Xichu Province for her safety, instructing Mo Ruofei and Lin Yuquan not to reveal their location. Mo Ruofei, however, harbored deep resentment, believing Dongfang Shi should be leading them against the Emperor instead of indulging in romantic endeavors. He voiced his frustration, asking what their next move was and criticizing the focus on a wedding during wartime.

Inside, Hua Buqi demanded to know how long Dongfang Shi intended to keep her confined. Dongfang Shi proposed they marry immediately, explaining that the Northern Wilderness King had withdrawn his support, leaving him vulnerable. He warned that Xiao Jiufeng would undoubtedly capture Hua Buqi to sacrifice her for the Biluotian treasure, and marriage was the only way to protect her, as Xiao Jiufeng would not harm his own grandson's wife.

Hua Buqi vehemently refused, reminding him that despite her past care for him, she still harbored a deep dislike. Dongfang Shi, however, was resolute, stating that she had to marry him regardless of her feelings, as it was the only way. Meanwhile, Mo Ruofei secretly sent word to Xiao Jiufeng, revealing Dongfang Shi's location and his intent to marry Hua Buqi in Mei Village.

Enraged that Dongfang Shi was pursuing marriage instead of returning to him, Xiao Jiufeng immediately ordered his forces to Xichu to retrieve him. News of Xiao Jiufeng's movements reached Yun Lang, who quickly informed Lin Dansha, and they resolved to warn Chen Yu without delay. Chen Yu, accompanied by Yuan Chong, arrived secretly at Mei Village and found Hua Buqi.

He clarified his previous actions, explaining that Grand Master Zhu was alive, and his apparent abandonment at Liuzhou was a ruse to deceive Dongfang Shi. He revealed that Dongfang Shi's defeat at Xuzhou was also part of a larger scheme he orchestrated with Commander Chang Kuan, and that the Emperor now held Grand Master Zhu, promising to release him once Dongfang Shi and Xiao Jiufeng were captured.

Hua Buqi expressed anger at being lied to, but Chen Yu urged her to leave with him immediately, as Xiao Jiufeng would arrive within hours. Before they could act, Dongfang Shi returned. Chen Yu and Yuan Chong quickly hid. Dongfang Shi pressed Hua Buqi for an immediate marriage, declaring he couldn't stay by her side during wartime and needed to return to his "old man" (Xiao Jiufeng) soon. He threatened to force her if she refused.

Hua Buqi confirmed that marriage was indeed the only way to deter Xiao Jiufeng. After Dongfang Shi left, Chen Yu reappeared. Hua Buqi then declared her intention to stay. She reasoned that her escape would alert both Dongfang Shi and Xiao Jiufeng, making their capture much harder and jeopardizing Chen Yu's efforts.

Chen Yu was reluctant to let her take such a risk, but Hua Buqi insisted it was a necessary sacrifice to end the war swiftly and secure Grand Master Zhu's release. She pleaded for a chance to risk danger for him, just as he had for her in the past. Chen Yu, having lost his father and master, expressed his fear of losing her too.

Hua Buqi assured him she would be fine and made him promise to spare Dongfang Shi's life if captured, citing Dongfang Shi's past kindness to her in the desert. Chen Yu agreed to try to persuade the Emperor, acknowledging the difficulty given Dongfang Shi's role in starting the war and his lineage as Prince of Cheng's descendant. Hua Buqi then went to Dongfang Shi and agreed to marry him. Overjoyed, Dongfang Shi embraced her, promising to protect her for life.

Hua Buqi confessed her motivation: with her Grand Master alive but held captive by the Emperor, and her family gone, she needed to ensure her own survival to revive the House of Zhu. Dongfang Shi promised that Xiao Jiufeng would not sacrifice her if they married and reassured her of his continued efforts to defeat the Emperor.

Dongfang Shi apologized for not being able to give her a grand wedding, having only managed to find a village matchmaker, but Hua Buqi dismissed his concerns, recalling her humble beginnings with Uncle Jiu. As the auspicious moment arrived, Hua Buqi, in her red bridal attire, felt a pang of sadness as she thought of Uncle Jiu. Dongfang Shi, with Mo Ruofei and Lin Yuquan as witnesses, prepared for the ceremony.

Just as they raised their crossed-arm wine cups, Xiao Jiufeng dramatically arrived, accusing Dongfang Shi of foolish romance and neglecting his imperial ambitions. Dongfang Shi argued that without the map and holy object, Xiao Jiufeng couldn't acquire the treasure anyway, and pleaded for his blessing, reminding him that Hua Buqi would soon be his granddaughter-in-law. From now on, he would unite with Xiao Jiufeng in defeating the Emperor.

Xiao Jiufeng, however, revealed he already possessed both the map and the holy object, declaring his only remaining need was the Saintess. He insisted on taking Hua Buqi. Dongfang Shi tried to stop him, but Xiao Jiufeng denounced his romantic entanglements as an obstacle to success, ordering his men to seize Hua Buqi. Xiao Jiufeng then took Hua Buqi by force. Mo Ruofei intervened, blocking Dongfang Shi's path.

He declared his personal mission to avenge the destruction of the House of Mo by killing the Emperor, stating he would sacrifice Hua Buqi if necessary to achieve his goal. Realizing Mo Ruofei’s ruthlessness, Dongfang Shi killed him to clear his path and pursue Xiao Jiufeng. Meanwhile, Yun Lang and Lin Dansha reached Mei Village, where they were ambushed by Black Phoenix, who had discovered their betrayal.

Lin Dansha, unskilled in combat, was vulnerable, and Lin Yuquan sacrificed himself to shield her from Black Phoenix's sword, dying instantly. Lin Dansha wept uncontrollably as Yun Lang also fell victim to Black Phoenix's blade. Overcome with grief and rage, Lin Dansha seized a wooden stick and fought Black Phoenix to aid Yun Lang, sustaining a severe wound herself. She watched in despair as Yun Lang died before her eyes, then crawled to his side, taking her last breath.

Simultaneously, Chen Yu and Yuan Chong confronted Xiao Jiufeng. Despite their efforts, they were no match for his formidable skills. Xiao Jiufeng brutally killed Yuan Chong in front of Chen Yu before taking Hua Buqi away. With his dying breath, Yuan Chong implored Chen Yu to rescue Hua Buqi. Heartbroken, Chen Yu reluctantly left Yuan Chong's body and followed Dongfang Shi’s trail to pursue Xiao Jiufeng and Hua Buqi.

Xiao Jiufeng brought Hua Buqi to the Biluotian shrine, obsessed with the belief that the treasure would grant him dominion over the world. Hua Buqi scoffed at his delusions, asserting her faith that Chen Yu would come to save her. At the entrance to Biluotian, Chen Yu and Dongfang Shi desperately searched for the hidden mechanism. Knowing that every moment delayed increased Hua Buqi's peril, they relentlessly searched until Dongfang Shi finally located the secret entrance.

Inside, Xiao Jiufeng had begun the ritual to sacrifice Hua Buqi. Chen Yu and Dongfang Shi burst in just as Hua Buqi and Chen Yu were plummeting from the shrine. Dongfang Shi caught both of them, clinging precariously. Xiao Jiufeng demanded Dongfang Shi release them. Dongfang Shi defiantly refused, stating he wished to claim the throne himself and accepting their current defeat as destiny. Xiao Jiufeng then fatally stabbed Dongfang Shi.

With his last reserves of strength, Dongfang Shi pulled Chen Yu and Hua Buqi back to safety on the platform, then pleaded with Xiao Jiufeng to spare Hua Buqi. Devastated by his accidental killing of Dongfang Shi, Xiao Jiufeng raged, vowing to make Hua Buqi pay for his grandson's death. Chen Yu bravely confronted Xiao Jiufeng to protect Hua Buqi, but he was outmatched.

As Xiao Jiufeng prepared to strike Hua Buqi, Chen Yu made a final, desperate move, pushing Xiao Jiufeng off the shrine platform, and falling with him. Hua Buqi lunged to catch Chen Yu, but he knew her strength was insufficient to save him. Bidding her farewell, Chen Yu released her hand and plunged to his demise. With the destruction of the Biluotian shrine, the ancient prophecy vanished, ushering in a new era for the imperial court.

Bai Jianfei was convicted of treason, while Liu Qingwu became Imperial Concubine Qing, wielding significant influence in the palace. The Emperor, now more open to counsel, lowered taxes, prioritized agriculture, and gained the deep respect of his people. During a casual outing, the Emperor and Liu Qingwu overheard rumors of the Lotus Robe Knight's reappearance.

In truth, after Chen Yu's fall, Hua Buqi had taken up the mantle, traveling the land as the Lotus Robe Knight to keep his legend alive. She mused that Chen Yu was her Lotus Robe Knight in this life and hoped he would be in the next. As she reflected, the true Lotus Robe Knight appeared before her. Chen Yu removed his mask, just as he had when they first met, and Hua Buqi, overwhelmed with joy, embraced him tightly. Their promise of eternal love, to hold hands and grow old together, had finally been fulfilled.
