Beiluo told Yan Lingyu why the three of them wanted to enter the Luhuagou building. Cao Yanbing needed to save his mother, and Xia Ling needed to investigate her father's cause of death. Beiluo wanted to revive his daughter Shui'er. The three of them entering the ancient building were all for their closest loved ones, hoping Yan Lingyu could understand. Yan Lingyu said she could understand but kept pouring wine for Beiluo.

He sensed something was wrong and found an excuse to go back and check on Cao Yanbing, feeling that Cao Yanbing might be in danger. However, when he and Xia Ling return, they see Cao Yanbing still lying safely in bed. Xia Ling thinks Beiluo might be overthinking. Actually, Yan Lingyu did send Lang Da to attack Cao Yanbing, but Lang Da was knocked out by Xuan Ma.

Xuan Ma detected the aura of her former master, the Demon Lord, within Cao Yanbing. She used a small mirror made from the remnants of the Heaven-Mending Stone. Although it doesn't have the full stone's effect of mending the heavens and reviving the dead, it can summon the Demon Lord for a moment.

She met the Demon Lord who had possessed Cao Yanbing and found out that Cao Yanbing had broken Zhenyu Tongzi's seal in Qianji Heisha, releasing the Demon Lord. Then, because Cao Yanbing is a Wushen body, the Demon Lord possessed his body. The Demon Lord was happy to learn that Cao Yanbing was going to the Luhuagou building.

He planned to use Cao Yanbing to obtain the divine power within the building, then erode Cao Yanbing's mind and completely occupy his body to ultimately rule the world. Xuan Ma was originally the Celestial Fox by the Demon Lord's side. She told the Demon Lord that Cao Yanbing's journey to the Luhuagou building was not by chance, but was deliberately guided by someone, and that person was Huangfu Longdou. She asked if he needed her to directly kill Huangfu.

The Demon Lord said there was no need, because the happiest thing in the world is to watch others busy themselves for a long time, only to ultimately work for someone else's gain. After listening to Beiluo's analysis, Xia Ling felt that Yan Lingyu must have other intentions concerning them. What she wanted was Beiluo himself. Beiluo was speechless upon hearing this and told her to go to sleep.

She suggested that because Cao Yanbing had destroyed a house, the Tafeng tribe people might have a bad impression of him. She thought the two of them could help the Tafeng tribe repair the houses to express their apology. When Cao Yanbing woke up and went to the street, he felt strange hearing the Lingfeng Street people pointing and whispering about him. He found Xia Ling and Beiluo and discovered they were repairing houses.

Xia Ling told him that when he fought the Fire King yesterday, the power backlash from within him had exploded the houses here. She hoped he could personally repair the houses to apologize to the Tafeng tribe people, and they should be able to forgive him. Cao Yanbing was very angry after hearing this.

He felt that he had defeated the Fire King and saved Lingfeng Street, so even if he accidentally blew up a house, his merits outweighed the mistake. Why did he still need to apologize? He felt that the Tafeng tribe people didn't know what was good for them and were ungrateful. Yan Ruofu happened to overhear him badmouthing the Tafeng tribe.

Yan Lingyu then said that they have an ancient rule: everyone who wishes to enter the Luhuagou building must first pass a trial to be qualified to be led into the ancient building by a guide. Cao Yanbing and the other two agreed to participate in the trial. Cao Yanbing hoped that if the three of them passed the trial, Yan Lingyu could promise that the Young General would definitely take them into the Luhuagou building. Yan Lingyu said she was a Spiritual Guardian, and she could make the decision and guarantee it.
