She believed that not everyone in the Sacred Blood Sect was evil and that good people should have the right to live. She hoped for a good outcome for both the Duan family and the Sacred Blood Sect.
Lu Zizheng approached Ruoyun and told her that if it weren't for Duan Yu, she wouldn't be homeless and her father wouldn't have been killed. He asked her if she wanted revenge, emphasizing that she just needed to say yes or no. Lu Zizheng then spoke with Duan Yu, explaining that Gu Qingqiao's body was weakening and he was worried she might not survive until Duan Yu gathered the Four Treasures.
He proposed taking her back to the Divine Palace to ask the Palace Lord if there was a way to extend her life. Gu Qingqiao agreed to go with Lu Zizheng, stating that since the legend of the Four Treasures was a prophecy from the Divine Palace, perhaps the Palace Lord had a method to save her life.
Before leaving, she entrusted the Meridian Gate to Duan Yu for safekeeping, though she emphasized that he meant more to her than the item. Duan Yu was hesitant to let her go with Lu Zizheng, expressing concern about him, but Gu Qingqiao dismissed his worries. Duan Yu then arranged for Wuyi Guards to secretly follow and protect her. When Duan Yan leaned in to listen, Lu Zizheng used Bloodcraft to kill him and obtain the remaining treasure maps. Shaoyi, looking for his father Duan Yan because Gu Qingqiao was leaving, discovered his father had locked himself in the study overnight. Finding this unusual, he entered and found Duan Yan dead from Bloodcraft. Enraged, Shaoyi confronted Du Ruoyun, accusing her of the murder.
Ruoyun denied it, stating that she had once overheard her father talking secretly with someone she now believed to be the true Sacred Blood Sect leader. The Wuyi Guards sent to protect Gu Qingqiao were also killed by Sacred Blood Sect disciples. Lu Zizheng took Gu Qingqiao to Shangqing Temple, claiming he had left something there. Upon arrival, he used the four treasure maps to locate the Heavenly Pearl, which turned out to be a gold medal.
Lu Zizheng incapacitated a monk at the temple, instructing him to deliver a message to Duan Yu. It was at this point that Gu Qingqiao realized Lu Zizheng was the Sacred Blood Sect leader. Lu Zizheng then took her captive to the Divine Palace.
At the Divine Palace, Lu Zizheng informed the Priests that the Duan family had returned the Order of the Noble Families and were planning to attack the Divine Palace, driven by their desire for the Palace Lord's power. The Priests, upon hearing this, vowed to ensure the Duan family would not return from the attack. Lu Zizheng instructed them to bring Duan Yu to him if captured.
Upon receiving the monk's message, Duan Yu learned that the Wuyi Guards were dead and Gu Qingqiao had been taken to the Divine Palace by Lu Zizheng. He immediately decided to go to the Divine Palace to rescue her. Shaoyi insisted on accompanying him to avenge his father. Xing Si was sent to retrieve the Qilin Bow.
While Xing Si was getting the bow, Du Ruoyun asked to see it, and under the pretense of helping him find a lost sachet, she secretly tampered with the bow. Duan Yu and his group entered a forest filled with miasma. Duan Yu recalled that the Divine Palace had flowing water and suggested following the water source to find the entrance. Xing Si bravely explored a cold pool and found an underwater cave leading out.
The group swam through the cave and emerged at the Divine Palace, but were immediately attacked by a flock of poisonous crows. Meanwhile, in the Divine Palace, Lu Zizheng revealed to Gu Qingqiao that Ruan Shiqiong's Sword Spirit had been nailed with the Soul-stealing Nail for a second time, and that the next appearance would result in his soul perishing. Gu Qingqiao was heartbroken, realizing he had used her despite her considering him her best friend.
Lu Zizheng admitted he had planned everything from the start, though he initially hadn't intended to harm her, but felt her trusting others over him was a betrayal. He stated that those who deserved to die were gone and this was the consequence of offending the Sacred Blood Sect. He confirmed he had killed nearly a hundred people at the Xiling Sect, including Wang Tianshan, despite their kindness to him, because they refused to surrender.
He recounted witnessing the massacre of the Sacred Blood Sect by the four noble families when he was a child, his subsequent life of hardship, and how entering the Divine Palace through the Human Poison Pit trial was his only way to survive. Lu Zizheng explained that the Sacred Blood Sect members were naturally weak and needed Bloodcraft to survive like ordinary people, claiming they only used it on animals before the four noble families attacked them.
He stated his goal was to open the gate of time and space to return to the sect's most glorious era so their people could live openly. Gu Qingqiao questioned why the four noble families attacked if the Sacred Blood Sect had not harmed anyone.
Lu Zizheng replied it was due to fear and a prophecy by the Divine Palace Lord that the Sacred Blood Sect would cause chaos, leading the Duan family to unite the other three families against them. Gu Qingqiao expressed her confusion about the Divine Palace Lord's seemingly contradictory prophecies. She then offered to help Lu Zizheng open the gate of time and space on the condition that she meet the Divine Palace Lord.
Gu Qingqiao was then brought before the Divine Palace Lord, who was revealed to be Master Kongkong. She asked him what she should do. Master Kongkong replied that the decision was not for him to make, but for her to decide herself.
